A popular reading scheme for pupils in primary schools or special schools who have severe learning difficulties. The fuzzbuzz storybooks were previously only available in packs of 6 (8 in the case of Level 3), each pack containing one of each title. The titles are now being made available individually for the first time.
A couple of years ago, I had a madeleine moment, where I remembered reading a series of books in a school library. I couldn't recall the title so I went on reddit. Somebody else had the very same dilemma. Those who replied had no idea. That is until today. A member of reddit, who I'm extremely grateful to, recalled the name of the series, "Fuzzbuzz".
There are 20 books in the series, as well as "spin-offs". The level of English increases with each book. They focus on a group of creatures living in a Glen in Sctoland. I think I've read most, if not all. The one that stands out the most is "The Prisoner", a rather disturbing tale, where one of the unfortune fellows is trapped in a cave with a host of monsters.
I'm looking forward to returning to a fantastical place I thought long forgotten and seeing if it all holds up more than 30 years later.
