I swear, whenever I find out a book is stranded/survival-themed, I get heart palpitations and I’m pretty sure my pupils dilate. However, in this book, many choices were made that honestly just confused the hell out of me…Maybe it won’t affect you, but it did me.
Firstly, I need to give context. The heroine’s mom marries her new stepdad, who already has two sons. Cue sibling drama! The stepbrothers dislike her for somewhat irrational reasons. It’s child logic though, it doesn’t always make perfect sense. For me, it’s the same kind of irrational hatred you see in Rina Kent books, and I don’t really understand that either.
Now, here’s a theme I always dislike: the hero sleeping with other women while proclaiming he “can’t stop thinking” about the heroine. He claims he doesn’t enjoy it… while still doing it. Spare me. The other brother also obsesses over her, but…oh yeah…he’s engaged. I told you, this story is messy.
Some of their dialogue was a little cringe, but not unbearable. What bothered me more was how fast their “relationship” escalated. Suddenly they decide to care about her, and she just goes along with it. Not because she’s weak, her personality is fine, but because the book never gives her enough time to grow a backbone.
Let’s talk spice. I’m a supporter, I wave that flag. But when your characters are starved, injured, and basically half-dead, it feels off when they’re still laser-focused on just sex. The scenes also got a bit cringey, not so much the actions, but the words. Example: they discussed DP while taking her virginity. Didn’t happen, but still, maybe ease her into things?
At 63%, I had to pause. Spoiler Alert: If you’ve seen the movie Alive (🗻🏉), you can probably guess what’s about to happen. I picked it back up a couple of days later, and…I don't think I should have.
From this situation, the heroine spirals and feels betrayed. She is dehydrated, starving, depressed and goes catatonic. In that state, one of the brothers wants her one last time “Even if she wasn’t here anymore. Even if it was just her body behind.” Last time she spoke to him, she made it clear she hated him and didn’t want to be touched. His response… “She didn’t do anything but let me take what I needed from her one last time.” He undresses her and has sex with her while “tears stream down her face.” She shows no emotion otherwise.
Yeah. I’m good on these men. That was the nail in the coffin for me. I love a dark romance, but this line felt crossed.
Later, in her POV, she says: “When he knew I was crying and didn’t want him. He f*cked me anyway.”* That’s not dubcon. That’s sexual assault. Period. Am I interpreting this wrong…how
A year later, she sees them again. Stockholm syndrome vibes all over the place. And then the ending? Way too cheesy for me after everything that came before.
Do I think the premise was unique? Yes. Did I read over 50% so it technically gets three stars from me? Also yes. Would I recommend it? No. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

Sit down, lock in - this is going to be lengthy, and unabashedly, unapologetically honest.
I am, admittedly, a KG Reuss fan after discovering her by way of the Boys of Chapel Crest. Now, when I received the notification this book had been released, I realized it was only available in paperback format, so I bought it on Amazon immediately.
Let’s start with the obvious. There are significant typos, to the extent that the one on page 134 made me wheeze laugh. “I responded instinctively, my body pressing into his, my fingers twisting in his SHIT…” Yes, it said shit instead of shirt. That paired with about five others led me to the conclusion that proofreading was haphazardly done or completely skipped altogether. Also, the pictures…why? Like, we have imaginations…you could just simply describe them to us, I didn’t need a big ass picture of each of them at the start of EVERY chapter.
Moving on, I’m not sure if this book was meant to be enemies to lovers, or a bully trope? Like, Elena, is the FMC, and the two MMC, Adrian and Troy, are her older stepbrothers (not significant age gap). Apparently they’ve “hated” her from the start, because….? Because her mom married their dad? Because she’s pretty? I have no fucking idea, and neither will you. But hey, it doesn’t last long, both MMCs “struggle” (and yes, I say it very loosely) with their true feelings for her within the first couple chapters of the book, with one of them talking about how the FMC is actually antisocial toward them - makes zero sense. Anyway, they get on a plane, and of course there’s a ton of foreshadowing, so by the time the plane actually crashes, no one, not even my naive Grandma, is surprised. Prior to it going down, the FMC has a panic attack that’s honestly just so pathetic, I could not stand her at all.
Plane is down, they’re all injured, pilot (a longtime family friend named Dean) is dead. The “survival” ensues which is really just a ton of boring chapters of them whining and her losing her virginity. Oh, and can I just say, for her first time, they all wanted to DP? Like…what? Get out of here.
Anyway, the MMCs know everyone is starving to death so they hack up the pilot and feed her, and she’s miraculously come back to life. She finds out it’s the pilot after a while and then she magically hates them again and doesn’t want to talk to them.
(Unnecessarily) Long story short, they get rescued and she’s so traumatized that she doesn’t talk to them for a year. One of the MMC randomly bumps into her in a library or some shit, and it’s like, ok, I love you again. The HEA is absolutely ridiculous, with them proposing to her, holding the same ring, and I’m laughing even typing this. More DP happens, she becomes a stupid ballerina…the end.
I wanted to like this, truly…I LOVE a gripping survival story, but this? What the hell even was this?

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 3/5 ————> Surviving a plane crash with your two step-brothers who you think hate you, but are secretly in love with you? They survived weeks in the wilderness inside part of the plane wreckage. Finally succumbing to their feelings they all come together.
The smut is okay. It seemed very rushed. There was a bunch of it. But the scenes aren’t very descriptive. They seem rather short.

A lot of great things. Good premise, author did well making you feel the angst of the groups struggles trying to survive post crash. The coming together was believable.
Also kudos to the author for portraying the struggles survivors go through post rescue. It’s not, “oh we’re saved, Champaign and roses everyone.”
Minus one star as it felt to be a somewhat incomplete story. The coming back together post rescue felt a bit rushed. Wish there had been a few more chapters with the main charchictors reconnecting on page. Vs an epilogue 2yrs late all’s good.

This is a MFM dark survival romance with two stepbrothers and their stepsister.
Troy Drexler (age 22) is handsome. All the girls wanted him. He was popular and rich. He partied every chance he got. The star quarterback on the football team. A frat president. He worked out.
Adrian Drexler (age 20) is the quieter one. More calculating, more careful with his words. Intelligent and top of his class. Just as handsome as his brother.
Elena (age 19) is an aspiring ballet dancer and has been their stepsister for 9 years but has always been ignored by them. They all attendLakewood University.
In the wreckage Elena becomes their ‘little dancer’ and ‘butterfly’. A true description of the what if’s to a tragic situation. The writing really captures the essence and I felt their cold I needed a blanket! A lot of emotion and even some tears that do lead to an HEA.
It’s slow to medium burn spice level.
A true standalone where there isn’t a connection mentioned to her other characters.

wow...some parts of this book were really sad even i was like damn. I went into this thinking it would have a more comedic tone. Like her and the brothers are constantly bickering, and then bam, they get into a plane crash and they land on a deserted tropical island. They still keep bickering and arguing in the beginning, but they put that aside to survive the island and whatnot. However, what happened was a lot sadder. It reminded me of the movie Society of the Snow on Netflix.
Also, it was suuuuuper incest-y like suuuuper. The brothers kept wanting to rail her together. At. The. Same. Time. Y'all are literal siblings, is it not even a little weird ? They could've made one of them the stepbrother and the other the brother's best friend. There was no need for all the incest

There are just waaaay too many things that annoyed me, because they didn't make sense, and I'm gonna list the most prominent ones here (I've kept it mostly spoiler free):
It is a rather unique story, but man I wish the reasoning behind their actions was better. Why did they have to be so mean to her? It would have worked soooo much better, if they had just ignored her the whole time and then played it off as them not being able to stay away from her, if she was near. Instead the author had to make them bullying a**holes, who had s*x with other women while proclaiming that they loved the fmc (while hating her of course).
The timeline:
Apparently she was late. Then it’s added that it’s only by three minutes. And then pilot said she just made it. The boys say they’ve been there for two days and then a long time passes and suddenly they’ve been there for almost two days. They keep saying she never tried to get close to them, and then he has a memory of her trying to play with them. They had a surprising amount of food and water, and a day later they are almost out of food? And then they keep being almost out of food for weeks. They only had a few pills left and suddenly they have enough to k*ll them all.
For the love of god, make it make sense. I hate these kinds of mistakes, because they are so obvious and distracting.
The romance:
I didn't really feel like it was in tune with the mood or the environment in the book. It seemed forced and too quick. Then let's get real. In the end, no way the guys had that quick of a refractory period. Those bedroom scenes certainly felt like the author just wanted to add extra spice. Out the window with love, tenderness and real connection.
The characters:
"She had been crying, begging for help, and we had ignored her. I didn’t know why that bothered me. But it did." Well, me neither A**hole. I'm surprised you have a conscience at all. Adrian's actions, when they are about to die, makes that pretty clear. These guys are on the very bottom of desirable mmc's. The fmc is also too pure. I’m completely fine with her being a virgin (it kinda makes sense, because of her personality and actions), but the fact that she has never touched herself or had an org*sm seems a little weird. Why is she on the shot then?
Anyway, let's round it up with: Please read the trigger warnings. The book wasn't quite what I was expecting from the blurb. It certainly contains more survivalist and mental health themes. Especially be aware of: .

The minute I can, this beauty is getting a permanent spot on my bookshelf.

I devoured this in one sitting and I’m still reeling.
Wreckage is a dark, gut-wrenching MFM survival romance that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Think enemies-to-lovers, bully romance, and taboo step sibling angst, all tangled together in a brutal, emotionally charged story of pain, survival, and connection. A storm both literal and emotional rips everything apart, and what’s left in its wake is raw, messy, and hauntingly beautiful.
Troy and Adrian are complicated, emotionally scarred, and angry in all the most captivating ways. Elena is quiet but strong, her pain simmering just beneath the surface. The tension between them is absolutely electric, heightened by forced proximity and a shared history that refuses to stay buried. Every interaction feels like it could combust, and when things finally ignite? It hurts in all the best ways.
This is a slow-to-medium burn with earned sparks and devastating emotional payoff. The vulnerability, the unraveling of secrets, the painful healing it all felt so real. I cried. I ached. I rooted for them through every jagged twist. And yes, it leads to a hard-won HEA, but not without breaking you a little first.

Elena's been hated by her two step brothers ever since her mom married their dad. She survived by making her invisible to them but they still noticed. Years after her mom's death, they're all flying home to meet their dad's new girlfriend. The plane crashes into the wilderness. Now they are injured, hungry and have to fight to stay alive.
Okay so I straight up devoured this story. It's been a while since a book held my complete interest like this. I liked Elena's quiet personality (she reminded me of myself at times) and I was on her side from the jump. The brothers were okay but broody, thinker Adrian was my favorite. Their scenes in the wilderness together was so hot. I enjoyed the descriptive writing and world-building. I could almost feel the cold, hunger and bleakness of their situation. A real fucked up thing went down and I had to skim cause I was grossed out. But the scene rang realistic for me considering their desperation. I deducted a star as the story fell short in the end. I wanted to see the reaction of their friends to their relationship. Especially after Angela's threat. I also wanted a scene with Dean's family and how they felt about what happened to him. Also wanted to read more about their father struggling to accept the changes with his kids. Everything felt really glossed over in favor of ending the story in a neat little bow.

All I can say is wow.
I'm so terrible at writing reviews mine isn't super spoil-y just basic points of the story so if you don't wanna read that skip this review.
It starts off your typical enemies to lovers with Elena being the step-sister to the brothers Adrian & Troy who don't like her. They felt like she and her mom ruined their family and they spend their whole life hating her while also obsessing over her.. until the crash happens, then it turns into them trying to do whatever they can to survive the cold, while also exploring their feelings for one another. It's a great wilderness survival book and gives the point of view of the survivor. Some parts of this made me sob like a baby, I've never cried while reading a book before because I purposely don't read sad things usually, but this was so gut wrenching and heart breaking and I absolutely loved the authors style of writing for this book. I should mention that If you're expecting a ton of spice there isn't a whole lot but, the scenes that there are, are good and not corny or anything like that, I felt it could've been done a little better with more details and also the nicknames they gave Elena could use some work but, other than that it was a nice little read for me. I'd say 4/5 ⭐️ and 2 on the 🌶️ scale.

Me encanto la historia, aunque sufrieron mucho para llegar a su final feliz, pero merecio la pena
La protagonista me gusto más o menos porque después del accidente no ayudo y solo parecia que pedia cosas ( no exigiendo, pero pedia cosas y sin pensar que no habia mucha comida )
Los hermanos no me gustaban al principio ninguno, pero unas horas antes del accidente tenemos un capítulo cada uno para conocerlos y nos damos cuenta que ya sentian algo por ella, pero como de pequeños hicieron una promesa de no preocuparse por ella, lo escondieron. Pero Adrian es peor que Troy porque le tenia resentimiento de que su madre no volvio por culpa de la madre de la chica cuando es obvio que no es así, parecia que se quedo atascado en el momento de que su madre se fue y llegaron ellas, pero bueno al final lo resolvio
Dean me dio mucha pena lo que le paso, era un buen hombre y también para sobrivivir tener que comerlo
Amanda es una horrible de persona, solo piensa en ella misma, después de todo lo que paso Troy en el accidente de avión aceptar con tranquilidad que no la queria le hace un escandalo

This broke my heart many times, and as someone who has a fear of flying, I was happy to be re-traumatized by this book! I love survival stories, and I really don’t read enough survival romance, and this one went the extra mile by being MFM stepbrother romance. Nice touch! Vibed with it!
The part right before the crash and right after are my favorite scenes. The almost immediately switch from uncaring to caring for her was really intriguing to me. Well done. Though, I’m not one to dock points over something being too sad, but I will say, it was a slightly harder read near the end just because of how much they suffered, but that’s a me thing, lol. Good book though! Great concept!
Ps. The way Troy and Adrian’s relationship got a little… too close for comfort? I was genuinely thinking there would be inc*st for a minute there. It was just getting a little…

Ok, definitely a solid 4.5⭐️. There were some typos that irked me, but the writing was good. I found it weird every time they used the term “sister” since they were barely even step siblings. But, the taboo thing I guess. It did bother me, as with a lot of books, when they go from loathing to obsession in a breath and when there aren’t full answers. I guess loathing is a little extreme. It just felt weird that they avoided her like the plague and then we were supposed to believe they had loved her all along. Regardless, the story was captivating and I didn’t want to put it down for a second. I really really liked this book. And the ending was amazing. But I need more!!!!!! Who pulled the short straw?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I had high hopes for this one, and while it didn't dash them, I don't think it quite lived up to them either. I enjoyed the wilderness aspect, and the family/relationship unitedness between everyone. But I didn't necessarily believe in their love as a throuple. There was just something too forced about it, or maybe felt too based on the trauma bond. One last thing, I thought the ending was left too open, I would have loved a better wrap up, or an epilogue that covered their future and how it all ended up for them. Overall, it was an okay read, but not as good was I wanted it to be.

Slow burn enemies to lovers romance! Step brothers but not really step brothers who seem to really dislike Elena, embark on a quick weekend getaway to see the boys dad. What happens is awful, the plane doesn’t make it to its destination. Stuck in a snowy mountain location, no communication, lack of nutrition, and forced proximity, they are faced with a lot of situations. Will they survive? Will they figure out how to get along? Well obviously sparks will fly and not just from the fires they set to keep warm. I would say this is a lighter dark romance with a few hints of darkness but nothing too harsh or crazy! Great read!

A touching taboo story about step sibling surviving under the most horrific circumstances, finding love, a true sense of home. Hard choices are made and lines are crossed in order to survive and hold on to life long enough to be rescued. Then learning to live with those choices and overcome the mental state of tragedy. Coming home with second chances. It’s taboo in every sense, but it’s so much more and I love that about K.G. Reuss, she has a way with telling a story, even with sensitive triggering topics she does it in such a way that makes you feel every emotion. It’s a dark story so, check the trigger warnings as it might not be for everyone. This is a standalone dark taboo romance.

wow! no me había leído nunca un libro tipo supervivencia/desastre que no fuera con fantasía o Monster romance y he de decir que estuvo súper intenso.
Te muestra la crueldad del mundo y lo feroz de la naturaleza. Lo que se tiene que hacer para sobrevivir y las secuelas de ello.
Por otro lado vemos romance, pero de forma gradual, aunque siento que tiene mucho que ver con el tema de la supervivencia, pero pues cada quien a su interpretacion. Me gustó que viniera un poco de romance porque de ser solo la supervivencia no sé si hubiera salido bien de allí mi cordura.
Me gusto muchísimo. Poco sexo y creo que era lo esencial. O sea, estás tratando de sobrevivir, no puedes coger como conejo.

Survival at its worst in the form of a plane crash in the mountains during winter. I loathe the cold so I’d probably not survive something like this but Reuss shows just how dangerous and terrifying it can get while in this situation. Being trapped with your stepbrothers while in pain from everything and trying to navigate your feelings is mind blowing. I feel bad for her that she’s not sure if what they went through was real and what will happen when a rescue comes is something she constantly thinks about. I wish this was a duet and we could get a later years follow up!

I wanted to love this story more than I did. It even made me cry when they were close to suicide. But damnit, I hated the third act. Third act break ups piss me off, especially when they're nonsensical. Them separating made no logical sense to me.
Also, the whole eating Dean thing. Why was she SO UPSET over something necessary to stay alive? I wanted to shake her. He was dead. He didn't need his body. He didn't care if they ate him to survive.

So many tropes, all in one book.
KG does it again! This book was full of tropes. It was taboo, it had bu11ies, enemies to lovers, there was mental health struggles, and journeys to find oneself. Elena and her stepbrothers (former step brothers?) Troy and Adrian, survive a plane crash, but are stuck in the wilderness for weeks trying to survive. This book shows the journey the brothers take from (outwardly) hating Elena, to caring for her, maybe loving her? It was a great read from KG, and I love when she gives us stand-alones like this!

I always look forward to starting a new book by K.G. Reuss and hate ending it, wanting it to keep on going. Luckily she’s one heck of a talented author and keeps them coming. Can’t wait to download a new book and be introduced to a new world with new characters, I always know I’m in for a literary treat!

I just devoured this one
In 3 hours non stop reading page to page. This one swallowed me whole from the first page till the last. No spoilers from me. Read this!
I cried, I was on the edge of my seat several times throughout. I don't think I've read another one quitr like this, a new situation that forces you to be really honest. I couldn't believe I was at the end so quickly.

I really loved this storyline, I like all 3 of the characters and as much as I love a good forbidden romance I feel like would have been better if they weren’t step siblings and they were just her bullies or friends turned enemies! I also wish we got more time in the plane! I also loved that she didn’t immediately get back with them after they returned home!

Excellent writing as usual. I loved the characters. Poor Elena must have felt so isolated once her mom passed, though she did isolate herself as well. The survival scenes were great; I was just as anxious as they were (maybe). I will say the word "wreckage" was used to excess, once the crash happened. It was on nearly every page. I still loved the story!

Loved it!!!!
"Wreakage was not what I'm use to when it comes to K.G Ruess, but she out did herself just like she does every time! Being a dark survival romance, it had my emotions tied in knots the entire time. A book about love, hate, survival, trauma, healing & delicious spice........it definitely left me wanting more! I absolutely love it!
