A Very Happy Easter

Rate this book
Who needs a man when chocolate exists?

Edie Renner doesn’t date. As well as her own teenage trauma, she carries the weight of stories from a thousand other survivors, tales of wolves in sheep’s clothing and battles fought behind closed doors. Staying single is the safest option. Better to be lonely than be trapped.

Parties are a prime hunting ground for the wrong kind of man, and as a face of the wealthy Renner family, Edie is expected to pull her weight when it comes to social engagements. Weddings, fundraisers, the annual Easter egg hunt—her schedule is groaning, and so is she.

When a lifeline unexpectedly presents itself in the form of handsome private investigator Heath Carlisle, her sister-in-law’s brother-in-law, Edie breathes a sigh of relief. Heath will fix her problems, and she’ll solve his. A mutually beneficial arrangement. Just business, nothing more.

Too bad nobody told her heart about the plan…

A Very Happy Easter is a standalone romcom novel with a protective hero, a damaged heroine, and a few visitors from the Blackwood Security series.

Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.

Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story in the "happily ever after" series. I did find I had to make a note of all the character names as there were so many. Some characters were familiar from other books by Elise Noble in the Blackwood Security series.
Edit is not interested in ever being in a relationship after a past trauma and then establishing a company with her wealth that helps abused women and hearing so many horror stories. Her rich family want her to marry well but she is not interested and is too busy organising Hen's parties, keeping up community engagements and being a bridesmaid instead. Enter Heath Carlisle - private investigator, the perfect fake boyfriend. Come along for the ride to enjoy a fast paced, well-written book that is never boring. This will hold your attention from beginning to end.
Highly recommended as with all books by this author.

A Very Happy Easter is the fourth book in the wonderful ‘Happy ‘Ever After’ series. It can be read as a delightful stand-alone although I do suggest that the books are read as there are overlapping characters.

Edie and Heath each have their own reasons to agree to a fake relationship for a year. It’s just a business deal. These are two characters that will touch your heart. This is a beautifully written story that draws you into the characters lives and keep you reading. The touches of humour are just right and the Cameos from Emmy and several other Blackwood Security favourites just add that little something extra to the book.

I loved this book and cannot recommend it highly enough. Definitely worth 5*.

Love this story so much!

Edie has kept men as far away from her as possible after one horrible event 13 years ago but that's until she met Heath at her brother's Halloween party. When they meet again she hires him as her boyfriend for at least one date per month to keep her mother and the rest of the family from pestering her.

When the guy who assaulted her, breaks out of prison, Heath and Edie escape to San Gallicano for a few weeks where they get to know each other even better than before.

It's impossible to write more without spoilers apart from love what Emmy did 🤣 unhinged as can be.

I received an advance ebook of this story in exchange for my honest feedback.

A Very Happy Easter explores Edith’s aversion to social situations and men. She’d rather help women who are in domestic violence situations, plan social activities and weddings and steer clear of dating.
To avoid her mother’s meddling to find her a husband, Edith has resorted to hiring a pretend boyfriend. Heath Carlisle, on the other hand, is interested in dating Edith and willing becomes her pretend boyfriend.
A Very Happy Easter is a well written book that restores Edith’s ability to trust. It is a solid story of healing and finding

A Very Happy Easter by Elise Noble.
Love happens when you least expect it.
This is the heartfelt story of how Heath and Edi get together, deal with her extreme social anxiety and have their Happy Ever After. What I like about this book is the snarky dialogue, great characters, solid storyline and the way the characters deal with their own life challenges and still meaningfully support others. This can be read as stand-alone book, but for those of us who have been reading this author's books, it is always a nice surprise if any of the characters from a previous book pops up and let us know what they have been up to since we last spend time with them. I enjoyed my time getting to know Edi and Heath. A great read. 5 stars.

I loved this book! Of course, I tend to say that about Elise Noble’s books – but this one is special. I am not sure what spoke to me the most – the vulnerable, yet strong main characters; the well-developed support cast that gives you a true sense of what it might be like to live the lives of those main characters; or the “that’s what you get” situations that Elise Noble is known for. Everyone in this story gets what they deserve. Some of our beloved characters from other series do make cameos, of course – which adds to the flavor.
Do NOT miss this one!

Elise Noble does it again in the 4th installment of the Happy Ever After series. Edie has a lot of trust issues, and truly who can blame her. Staying single is the clearest option in her eyes. Until she gets a little too far in with Heath and her heart doesn’t know where the lines were drawn. And who can blame her, Heath is just… chefs kiss amazing. This book was a super fun read, I love the cameos from Blackwood, I love the relationships. I love the heart of the book. Amazing as always!

It might not be Easter, but this is a book to love in any season. We met Edie in the last book. This is a standalone book, but I'm sure you will want to read all the series. I love Elise's style of writing, her emotional care of difficult subjects and wonderful, complex characters. She allows the reader to step into the story and experience it with the characters, to feel the ups and downs, the twists and turns, the fear and love. I highly recommend.

Edie and Heath are my favorite couple from this series

A sweet slow burn romance with great characters. She has trust issues and is uncomfortable around men. He is finding his place after his military career.

This is a stand-alone story but I would recommend the entire series. Cameos from the Blackwood series and Elise's signature humor are found throughout.

My new favorite! Part of the “Happily Ever After” series, this one is an absolute must read. It is about a powerful woman overcoming her past and becoming even stronger. Her male counterpart is just as amazing. You will laugh and cry with these great characters. And, once again, I was happy to have the Blackwood Security team interwoven in this great story.

I have enjoyed all of the Happy Ever After Books, but love this as there are SO many returning characters from this series and from Blackwood Security. The romance between Edie and Heath is sweet. You could read this as a standalone book, but by the end you will want to know more bout everyone, so go ahead and order the rest of the series! They are all entertaining and great reads!

A Very Happy Easter is a fun read that entertains the whole way through the story. I especially enjoyed Edie's wry sense of humour, and Emmy's part. I never tire of reading this author's books; she writes such interesting characters, each with their own troubles and challenges, and all with a great supporting cast of friends, family and colleagues. You can be sure of plenty of mayhem and snarky humour.
