4.5 stars. Will aka Rook and Paris Deiters aka PD are part of the Kings of Men MC, and best friends who live together.
Four years ago a rival club injured Will badly, his body was broken in many ways, and his brain was injured. Just before the accident Will and PD kissed for the first time. After the accident, PD assumed Will wouldn’t remember the kiss because of his brain damage, and Will thought PD didn’t want to mention it again. Both four years in agony.

Will is constantly in pain, and constantly angry at his failing body and brain. He’s angry at PD and the other King's men because they approach him as if he’s damaged goods.
PD wants to help Will where he can, even though Will curses him constantly for babysitting. But oh boy, does he need him!

The anger even made Will move out and go to the clubhouse. PD is determined to get him back home.

There are a few storylines besides Will and PD’s relationship, issues with rival clubs and the police, revenge on the guys who did this to Will, and more.
Yes, it’s an eventful story, a lot of things are happening, there are fights, anger, and bloody revenge, but also humor. The guys are rough and tough, not averse to a bit of rough-and-tumble.
But always with soft spots for their lovers.
A very enjoyable experience!

King’s Survivor is the latest installment of the Kings of Men series, part of the New Gothenburg world created by MD Gregory and Ki Brightly. It’s got friends-to-lovers, hurt/comfort, second chance, and all the MC shenanigans you need. The book could be read as a standalone. But with such great characters, why not read them all?

Will was hurt pretty badly in a motorcycle accident, but he’s tired of being treated like an invalid. He wants to be “Rook” again, an active member of the Kings of Men. But, everyone babies him, especially PD. He’d finally gotten the nerve to ask for more before the accident, but now he’s unsure where they stand.

PD remembers the kiss, but he doesn’t know what Will remembers. He worries about him constantly. But he knows Will is it for him. Regardless of all the stuff happening, all the bickering between them, it’s always been the two of them.

This book has been a long time coming. It focuses mainly on the connection between Will and PD, the uphill battle post-accident and how to move forward. Even the interwoven action and the issue with Uhlig drive that main plot. It was great seeing them finally get their happily-ever-after. They are sweet together, and the spice was well done.

We also see more hints about issues with King. And it was cool seeing glimpses of other characters too.

King’s Survivor by Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory is book 11 in the The Kings of Men MC series. I adore this series and was very excited to see that PD and Will’s book was out. We’ve been anticipating this book for a long time and it was so worth it. Will was in a motorcycle accident and suffered many injuries including a TBI. He is trying to figure out what his new way of life will look like. PD has been there through it all. He loves Will and wants to take care of him. Will struggles when people try to baby him. Both perspectives are so understandable. Once they finally admitted how they felt, things started to turn the corner. They were such a great pairing.

I loved seeing all of the Kings. However, I am concerned about King and Dallas. There have been cracks in their relationship over the course of the last few books and I’m worried what will happen when everything hits the fan. Dallas is being so patient. I am also worried about Jester and Bliss. What is going on there? I cannot wait to see how both of these stories play out. I love New Gothenburg and everything that comes from these two authors. They have such an amazing universe and I love visiting whenever I can. I highly recommend anything that they have written.

I received an ARC from the author and BookSprout for my honest review.

Did Not Finish

I waited so long for this book and bailed at 26%. I was bored to tears. Are these grown men? Speak!! Will moving out to go to the clubhouse, when King was the one who made the decision not to include him in the 'event'.... Huh? He didn't want PD to take care of him (understandable), so he wanted to leave so PD could have his own life and get laid (also understandable), but it just wasn't executed well IMO. The injury angle could have been so interesting, but the hemming and hawwing and them getting interrupted every time they're about to say something of importance was annoying, especially on PD's side. Fine, Will was injured but PD, come on dude! Ugh. Once the cops showed up and they were acting like teen boys, I was good and done. The small glimpse we got of King and Dallas in the beginning, that's top tier stuff right there. Even Undertaker *mentioning* Lee was more interesting than the featured couple. And yes, I know I didn't read the whole thing. I had zero incentive to continue.

It's finally here! I had to wait a long time for this book to come out. Like, 5 years or so, waiting and reading snippets about Will and PD in other books in the New Gothenburg universe. Now, I finally get to read about these two wounded boys getting together and finding their HEA!

In the timeline of the Kings of Men MC series, Will got into a motorcycle accident about 4 years ago. Against all odds, he survived. People tell him he's lucky. But Will doesn't feel lucky. He's in pain most of the time, his brain has been scrambled and worst of all, what should have been the best day of his life, finally kissing his best friend, turned out to be a nightmare because of the accident.

PD never gave up on his best friend, always trying to take care of Will. Even though Will insist he's doing fine. PD keeps waiting for Will to get better, but both of them might need to accept Will has been changed by the accident and will never be the same again. They have to decide if they can accept each other as they are, finding a new happiness.

A terrific addition to the series

This was a fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. It's been a while since Rook's accident, and even though everyone tells him how "lucky" he was to survive the devastating crash, he feels anything but. Going through the intense pain every hour of every day, his mind and emotions are out of his control, as well as the extreme frustration of having everyone always asking if he's ok, and as frustrating as all of that is, he's beyond hurt that his best friend and the man he he loves hasn't said/did anything about the kiss that they shared right before the accident that changed everything. It's certainly going to be an emotional roller-coaster for Rook and PD, but can they finally get on the same page regarding their love for one another? It's not a story or series that you'll want to miss.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding authors.

I absolutely adore this series and quite frankly anything from New Gothenburg. PD and Will(Rook) have been in other books as has parts of their story as they intersect with other characters, but now we get a better look into their relationship. Friends, housemates, fellow Kings of Men and now more than that. This intersection of characters and stories is what makes this series so special because it creates a depth and richness that has developed over time as these stories have been written. Although I presume that it’s become a nightmare to keep track of! I enjoyed the story of these two guys learning to communicate better and the conflict between the gang and various groups is a great counter point to the romance. There are some really funny moments in this book that really got me laughing which helped lighten up a fairly heavy story. Another success!.

I loved coming back to New Gothenburg and visiting with the Kings again. This time around we get PD and Will’s story. It has been a while and these two have had a long and rocky journey. The two have been friends forever but one accident changes everything for them. It started with a kiss but the accident took everything, it almost even took Will. He may have survived but he certainly is not the man he used to be. We get to see the struggle and pain that these men go through both physical and mentally. Not only do we get to see Will and PD fight for their happiness we also get to seethe Kings in action again. It was nice to see others from the club and how they all support each other. We also get glimpses into the other men’s lives and I am eager to see what is in store for everyone.

Worth the wait

I have been not so patiently waiting for this story and I wasn't disappointed.
Will and PD's road to a HEA was so painfully beautiful and realistic.
Will having suffered through a horrific trauma that left his body and mind broken.
Not completely beyond repair, but irrevocably changed.
Will resents having to depend on someone, especially when that someone is his best friend PD who he's in love with.
PD for his part, wants to care for Will, but does it in a way that makes him feel like a child and a burden.
I was really angry with these two, I wanted to smack them for the lack of communication because everything could have been resolved so much more quickly.

*grabby hands* MY BOOK! And I will gnaw ANYONE who speaks badly of it! WILL + PD 5EVER.
I waited 4 years patiently for this book. It can do no wrong, and I won't hear otherwise. I am not taking questions at this time. See your local trashcan with any conflicting opinions.

Favorite Quotes: (WARNING, SPOILERS)

- "He'd left me with a friend when I should've had so much more."

- "I wouldn't touch him with a borrowed dick."

- "I liked that she kept trying. It was good to have a hobby."

- "(...) but we both knew we'd just go through this next month because I was always going to get Will what he needed. Exactly what he needed. Because he was mine."

- "As angry as I was, I wouldn't caught the bullet between my teeth and force-fed it to him."

- "(...) a deeper emotion that left me hurt and furious at PD. He was willing to risk prison, a place very far away from me , for this retaliation. I could've lost him."

- "Will burst out laughing, and I wanted to live in that sound, but I settled for sliding my arm around his solid waist."

- "When I further expressed how I'd love to get married at the clubhouse, maybe right away, the bastard went out and got ordained."

Happy sigh.

Will (Rook) and Paris (PD) were on the verge of being something more when a rival MC caused injury to Will and he barely survived. Everyone treats him with kid gloves and he doesn't believe PD wants him with his injuries. PD doesn't know if Will even remembered and as they are BFs, only wants to care for him, not lose him. Will is in constant pain, PD hurts for him, both are insecure and won't relate their feelings. As in most Gothenburg books, there is violence, many m/m relationships, corrupt officials, steamy times and heart wrenching moments as you feel for Will and PD. I love this writing duo.

I have only read the previous book (Book 10), so I can attest that this book stands alone well without needing to read ALL the previous books in the series.

Loved reading about Will and PD. Their friendship is so precious and if it weren't for the accident, their previous kiss could have led to an earlier development of their relationship. But because of the accident, it was put in the backburner and both were unable to bring up that topic again. 4 years of not knowing, of agony and hurt, of recovering and trying to get back to normal. It was a hard-earned HEA but I'm glad Will and PD found their way back to each other.

King's Survivor follows Will "Rook" Gardener's recovery from a life‑changing motorbike accident and the unwavering care Paris "PD" Deiters provides. Will's journey to heal feels very real and honest, no sugar coating from Meg and Ki. PD's loyalty and quiet strength are so beautiful to see. This book belongs to the Kings of Men MC universe, a motorcycle club, that reside in fictional city of New Gothenburg, New York
I loved all the cameos from others King's, I has missed them so much, specially King and Dallas.
Can't wait for the next book.

King's Survivor is the eleventh book in the Kings of Men MC series, it's set in the New Gothenburg world and should be read in order. Throughout the series we have seen PD and Will and I was so excited to finally get their book, but it just wasn't as good as the others, still really good though. I think I was just frustrated at the boys acting like children instead of just talking it out, but in the end it works out for them. I do love visiting everyone within the MC group that we have seen throughout the years.

I loved Will (Rook) and PD (Paris). I loved that Will's injuries were based on injuries M.D. Gregory's father had suffered, since it gave more depth to him. I hate that her father suffered them and still suffers. I enjoyed how this book showed Will didn't want to be treated differently due to his injuries and how much miscommunication there was due to them. They way the book showed how you can overcome so much and still have a fulfilling life. I can't wait for the next book.

5/5 stars. What can I say? Sometimes I wonder why I bother reading other authors' books, when I could be reading Ki Brightly and MD Gregory's books. This had me hooked from the start, until the end. If anything, I would've liked for the last few chapters to be longer..
Even though this wasn't the most romantic book - it was more of a Kings of Men MC action book - I still loved every bit of it. It's rare for me to get so interested in side MCs' relationships.
And I was so happy to see Aaron and Dallas again!

I was beside with happiness to have another book in this series! Will's accident was bad and the timing was not in the favor of the change that has started in his relationship with PD. I appreciated that things took a turn for the more difficult. No man especially not in this world wants to need to be taken care of. The connection between Will and PD is genuine and strong, but as you can imagine they needed to talk it out. Some of our other beloved couples are facing challenges as well!

This book was more than a great read - it was incredibly special. When you read the intro you see why it resonates with one of the authors so much. What both Will and PD have gone through - continue to go through - is more than most of us ever will. To come back from that, to find yourself and your person after that, is so special. This is going on my all time top favorite list. Beautiful work and even if you haven’t read the rest of the series, pick this one up!

Rook & PD

I don’t really know what to say other than I enjoyed reading this story. I usually love all of Meg & Ki’s books so it’s no surprise there. Gruff men falling in love and going all soft and smooshy for the love of their lives is M&K’s specialty. I really like this universe they’ve created and I can’t wait to read more from it.

I’m doing my best but Will is too stupid for words. And I can’t stand stupid characters. Unfortunately the story also seems to be plot driven rather than character driven. I felt nothing towards the MCs and their development felt stunted and disconnected.

The story it self sounded intriguing but was not able to deliver

I really enjoyed this story. This is the eleventh book in this series and it could be read as a standalone but it’s so much more fun reading them all. The characters are amazing and the world building is fantastic. I can’t wait for the next book.

Finally... it took a while, but there is a new book from Kings of Men MC again. Waited a long time for it and fortunately wasn't disappointed. Will and PD are two characters that fit together perfectly and cause trouble together. A great book to read, and well written.

Being best friends, Will and PD do everything together, just when they thought they had reached a tipping point in their friendship, Will was badly injured. PD was easy to step up and be the support that Will needed, but Will needed time to adjust, when things finally come to a head, the feelings they can’t ignore ignites between and they their relationship finally gets stronger.

A fantastic addition to the Kings series, I loved getting to see all of the Kings men in this story l we get glimpses at previous couples, tension, action and left wondering what’s next.
Definitely a recommended read.
