North Shore #3

Delightful Sins

Rate this book
She betrayed them and ran away. Now they want their revenge.
In a town where all that matters is loyalty to your gang, I’ve been labeled a traitor.

A death sentence.

I ran away from the North Shore the day I knew I wasn’t safe there anymore. I left behind the people I thought were my family: My crew, the Kings.

More importantly, I turned my back on the two men who once meant everything to me.

The hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I might have known Elliot and Ethan since we were children, but I betrayed the brothers in more ways than one.

Now they want me dead.

I should have known no one escapes the Kings. They found me and are taking me back to face my darkest secrets and most haunting memories.

A place where I am public enemy number one.

I’m stuck with a master manipulator and his bloodthirsty brother. Two men who only want to make me hurt. In more ways than one.

They will never let me go. At least not until I’ve paid for my sins.

➳ welcome to the northshore—where everyone is crusty, dusty, and musty ☆

i don't know who spread the lies that these circus clowns were getting redemption arcs, character development, a reformed presence—but you need to answer for your crimes. step up to the front so i can hate on you publicly. absolutely shameful. this is a full hate review. a hate review of the book, of the writing, of the characters, and hell—at this point, even the author herself. i am lola king's number one hater. if you get offended easily or are going to argue with me on my take of this...just clock out. i don't have the time for that. it's never that serious.

jade is our fmc; the most hated character up until this point—with the promise of loving her when we get her story. jade, the caricature that you are. when i first read about this buffoon in beautiful fiend, i knew i was in for a nightmare. her actions, her behavior, her violence, and deportment; screamed problematic—very problematic. caden tells us quite quickly, jade is an indian; with an indian mother. with this in mind, since lola king is a british white woman, she should know that writing about a minority group—a minority group that has a rich history of culture, values, traits, and practices that aren't aligned with british white people—comes with care, effort, research, and thought. none of those traits are present in this novel, with these characters, with their behavior. lola decided to make jade—an indian woman—a slave/pet to two caucasian brothers—ethan & elltiot—who have a history of abusing and assaulting people.

i really don't care what anyone says about me, thinks about me; but this is disgusting. absolutely disgusting. i am scratching the surface here on how egregious this was written, how revolting and shameful. i am deeply ashamed this was ever published, that lola was so proud to learn hindi from her friends, thinking she incorporated that in this book. all the while, it is not hindi—it's punjabi and it's spelled completely fucking wrong. this is the definition of colonizer fanfiction. my people will never be free. literally go fuck yourself.

if you thought she was done butchering people of color—butchering ethnic groups, ethnic groups that she has no idea how to write, no idea on how to tell their story, then you would be wrong. heartless beloved is really popular and i have no idea why, or how. this is one of the worst books i have ever read, and that is being generous. i got a lot of hate for stating my opinion—my opinion of her depiction of muslim characters. lola king has stated that it is her depiction of how she sees this dynamic since her step in laws are muslim, but that does not mean you are not exempt from critiques.

i have several muslim friends—guy friends—who hate how ziad was depicted. he was violent, abusive, a rapist, a predator, who seemingly charms his way out of everything. this is not your story to tell. not a single one of my arab or muslim friends is happy with this, is ok with this, thinks this is normal. i am not listening to anyone but them—just them. it also does not take a genius to note that arab mothers, indian mothers have their own culture, practices, and values that they preach and follow. if you don't understand the group you are representing, shut. the. fuck. up. this is not a time for one of your rape fantasies to come to life under the guise of dark romance. this is harmful and extremely problematic. people of color are not your fanfiction fantasies and token diversity card. we don't need your horrid representation just to fill some fantasies. there are real people, real muslim men, real indian women that get abused on the daily for just that—being a person of color. i find it really embarrassing lola king thought it was appropriate to write these stories, to publish them. if i were a better woman, i would've dropped it and been on my way, but i am not. leave us the fuck alone and for the love of god, literally shut up.

thank you to my favorite girl veerali for suffering through this. please check out her review. she sums up everything perfectly. i love you.

i thought this series couldn’t get that much worse. after reading the first book, i stated that i need a lobotomy—but now i fear that isn’t sufficient. i need holy water, a prescription for amnesia, an exorcism, bleach for my eyeballs, and a federal investigation into whoever allowed this to be published. i want to be put in witness protection for surviving this series to warn everyone about it and sue for emotional damages, because no one should have to know what “fuck toy” or “cum slut” sounds like on repeat in a book that pretends it's romantic and fascinating. had this book existed during the times of ancient civilizations, it could've been the most effective method for torture.

this book was an utter snooze and cringefest. it felt like it was merely repulsive, brain-numbing, poorly-conceived, painfully CRINGE, vomit-inducing, emotionally vacant, rage-inducing, tediously repetitive, psychologically damaging, disturbingly horny, intellectually offensive, hideous, appalling, exhausting, clownish, one-dimensional, hollow, humiliating, antifeminist, excruciating, profoundly icky, corny smut at its FINEST. everything that happened with the threatening notes jade received, the bratva wolves (the group her sugar daddy was a part of) felt like a sub plot. no tension. no arc. no development—just the same cycle of abuse, degradation, horrendous sex, and emotional manipulation. just like the other books! it felt as if 75% of the scenes were copied and pasted then reworded.

the fact that this was published—and with a dedication that said “for girls who are angry” —is offensive. this is the equivalent of a misogynist writing a wattpad fanfic and disguising it as empowerment. this is NOT how we reclaim our agency—by calling men “master” and begging to be spanked during breakfast. WHY ARE ALL THE FMCS IN THIS SERIES ARE THE SAME. like i said, jade is, ostensibly, supposed to be “representation for angry girls”, but i’m wholly convinced she simply exists to make girls angry. she’s literal ragebait. a more accurate description would’ve been “internally self-loathing and disconcertingly eager to crawl on all fours for men who treat her like a dog toy.” WHY IS SHE LETTING HERSELF ROLEPLAY AS THEIR PET?? THIS IS WHAT SHE’S CALLING “EMPOWERING”? the sole things this book and series empowered me to do is write 1-star reviews and constantly check my email to see if my therapist has new openings as soon as possible.
"Ethan has started becoming more demanding, showing me the ways he
likes to use me, and I can’t stop thinking about it. This morning, he made
me kneel on the floor of the kitchen in nothing but my choker and a small
skirt while he was having breakfast. He hand-fed me and made me thank
him afterward. My eyes couldn’t leave the bulge in his jeans the whole
time. He teased me with it, but ultimately didn’t give me what I craved."

“I’ll give you anything you need, Mi Cielo,” I rasp.
She shakes her head. “I want to degrade myself for you. Make me…”
She thrusts her hips, rubbing herself against the hard ridge of my dick.
“Make me worship you, Master.”

“Take your punishment like a good girl and beg for it, Jade.” The threat
in his voice doesn’t help with the wetness dampening my underwear.
“Please,” I murmur. “Spank me.”
“I can’t quite hear you.”
I narrow my eyes at him, but it has little effect when I give him what he
wants anyway. “Please, put me over your knee and spank me,” I say louder.
“That would be my pleasure, baby. Pull out a chair for me.”

as are the other males in this series, the brothers are walking condom ads. but frankly, elliot and ethan and ethan and caden had more chemistry than elliot and jade and ethan and jade, i’m so serious. at one point, i was somewhat rooting for a surprise love triangle between ethan, elliot, and caden, or a mm enemies-to-lovers arc just to implement some level of surprise or intrigue.

ethan: i never want to hear the words “mi cielo” (what he called jade) again. funny thing is, he wasn’t even that bad until we learned he has a master kink.
“Your body is not in a state to take what I have to give. So you lay down
like a pretty toy, and let me fuck you softly.”

“You’re nothing,” I growl. “You’re a fuck toy, a little cum whore, a
slutty little pet who deserves nothing but to be under my boot.”

the worst part is that’s not even the worst part. elliot is.

elliot: boring!! manwhore (surprise surprise!)!! slut-shaming!! abusive!! manipulative!! misogynistic!! degrading!! perpetually horny!! whiny (when he was jealous of ethan and jade and complained how she never said i love you to him)!! irritating!! forced jade into a choker that was chained into his wall!! instead of giving him a personality, lola king just made him 6’7 and hoped that would distract us. i hope he bangs his head into a doorframe, shatters his skull, becomes paralyzed from the neck down, loses the ability to speak, wallows in his misery, then dies alone and forgotten.
“I am not like the other guys, Jade.” He presses his body harder against
mine. “I made you come, I made you my slut, I broke down every single
part of you and put them back exactly how I wanted them. And the worst
is? You loved it. If you gave it to your rich fucker, you can give it back to
me. So here we are. Protection, for you to become my little slut again. I find
the bargain quite in your favor.”

“Say yes,” he rasps. “Say, ‘Elliot, I consent to being your good little fuck toy again. Any time of day and night, any state I’m in.’”

“I can see the signs; the wetness, the panting, but I want more. I want her to admit it. All I’ve ever wanted was for her to tell me she wanted me. Not Ethan, not fucking Sawyer…me.”
lol, no one wants you cause you're a fat dick!! hope this helps!

“I talk, you two shut up. Daddy will handle this shit.” okay, handle a restraining order

the quotes speak for themselves. this book deserves jail time and so do i for reading it.

i'm writing this review because i'm feeling messy tonight and i got my messy boots on.

on to the front—delightful sins by lola king—zeros across the board. when i tell you main characters in this book are the most INSUFFERABLE characters i've ever read in a book, i mean they're insufferable. i feel like me and manas should be compensated for reading this book. it's wild to think someone wrote this, had it edited, and a whole squad of people read it before it hit the shelves, and yet here we are 🤨

this book felt like i was reading a mid story with a side of degradation corn. when i tell you i've read many books and watched a lot of TV shows and movies where women are not seen equal to men. lola king takes it to a whole another level here. the first book in the series is honestly the grossest thing this author has ever put out. billie, the main girl, is an MMA fighter and she just keeps getting totally wrecked by caden, the main guy. then there's the second book where alex, another main girl, is basically a doormat and gets assaulted by xi, our half jewish-muslim dude. as for this book? it doesn’t have any of that stuff, but it still icked the fuck outta me and manas.

—♟️⊹ characters:

𖣠 jade alva:

this girl suffers from an extreme case of dumb-bitch-itis. everything about this girl pisses me off. this girl just gets on my nerves, like everything she does. the way she talks, her style, how she carries herself, her choices, her decision making skills, her critical thinking skills, her inner monologue. I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GIRL. like she's supposed to be a strong fmc here who beats up people left right and centre but lola was successful in making her submissive for the two dogs over 300 pages. honestly, the worst part is that she's indian. like, yeah, she’s indian, and i can’t see indian moms letting their daughters go after a gora pakora. but in this book, jade somehow manages to chase two of them.

she kicked things off with ethan, our main dude. then when he dumped her, she moved on to his brother elliot, who’s also a main dude, and then she kinda hooked up with everyone in town. i get that she’s got some past trauma and i feel for her, but like, was all this drama really needed?

i’m so over these authors misrepresenting poc characters. the way she wrote hindi in this book was just wrong (and let’s not forget, the author is white.) it wasn’t even proper hindi; it was punjabi, and it was messed up too. like, come on, the author could’ve just used google translate because even that would’ve given her the right hindi. i seriously don’t get who told her to write it like that. me and manas were offended 🤚

“Ma,” I murmur. She barely stirs when I slide my hand in her hair. “Meh tenu pyar karteh hu.” I love you.

shut the fuck up, you uneducated peanut.

𖣠 elliot pearson and ethan torres

i'm not even joking when i say i wanna straight-up roast these two dogs to ashes. they're like stepbrothers who are all about sharing our girl, and their pet play kink is next level. no hate on kinks, do your thing, but this book was just a total dumpster fire. the smut? it's the most cringe, vomit inducing, eye bleaching, disgusting, sickening, foul, gross, nasty, stinking, vile, distasteful, repellent, obnoxious, objectionable, brain damaging, awful, cheap, fatherless behavior, what the hap is fuckening smut ever.

elliot, i can't even with this dude. he's like a giant at 6'7", but his brain is totally MIA. so full of himself, thinking he can twist any situation to his advantage. honestly, he's just super basic and boring. i feel like he shouldn't even be the main character in this book. like, how does someone who hated jade suddenly fall for her in a few pages? he claims he was in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her? seriously, what the fuck? and the way he played ethan into breaking up with jade made me want to punch him across his face multiple times—with knuckles of course.

“Fuck,” Elliot rasps. “She just got wetter. The little whore can’t wait for us to DP her.”

glad to see so many embracing therapy. a few of you need exorcism as well...baby steps.

at first, ethan was kinda growing on me and manas. we were all about how ethan and jade had way more chemistry than elliot and jade. he’s this broody dude who’s super anti-social and just grumpy all the time. we thought we finally found a solid main character in this series...until he started talking. honestly, I’m all for guys who master the art in shutting the fuck up, and he was totally doing that at first. but then we were totally wrong. the way the author totally MESSED UP his character by throwing in that master/sub kink was wild. and it’s not just that—he made jade literally crawl and lick his boot. no kink shaming here, but the feminist in me wouldn't let that slide 🙏

“You’re nothing,” I growl. “You’re a fuck toy, a little cum whore, a slutty little pet who deserves nothing but to be under my boot.”

“If you disobey again, I’ll rub your entire face in it, do you understand? I will flip you around and make you lick your own cum off the floor.” His boot presses harder. “Do. You. Understand?”

I can’t catch a fucking break. My dick hardens again when she goes on all fours, her slick pussy right in my vision. And when she lowers her head and licks my brother’s boot, I let mine fall back.

“This is your training, pretty kitten. You’re going to keep the tail in your ass while I fuck you. And then we’ll remove it so you can take both of us at the same time.”

my dude, that was unreadable please learn how to speak.

─ ♟️⊹ the plot [this section contains spoilers ‼️]

the plot was decent with too many plot holes like I'm talking about a lot of inconsistencies here. first off, this book promised us a classic hate-to-love scenario, and what did we get? absolutely nothing! it was all about that instant lust and love nonsense, and honestly, i felt totally duped. and can we talk about the part where elliot's dad assaulted jade? so predictable, it was like watching a bad rerun. then there's elliot and ethan, hiding cash from kayla just to pin everything on jade. their excuse? "oh, we didn't want to let you get too far away from us, uwu 👉👈." like, sir, please SHUT UP SHUT UP!! the only redeeming quality was tamara sending death threats to jade—like, she could’ve just taken her out for good.

manas and i were totally embarrassed after finishing this book. we legit had to sit in front of our deities and beg for some serious cleansing and forgiveness for diving into that absolute disaster.

thank you to my fabulous bestie manas for enduring this book torture with me ily x 🩷

Okay okay okay HEAR ME OUT!! I did have so much fun reading this book and clearly devoured it, this series is ABSOLUTELY insane and twisted and I’m HERE FOR IT! However… the tropes in this one just aren’t personally my favorite! This was why choose, MFM, and I’m typically not at all a why choose girl, reverse harem just isn’t for me, so the fact that I still really enjoyed this is telling about Lola Kings ability to suck you in! I also felt like this one was just had WAY too much smut in the last 40% and it definitely took me out of the story a bit because I was skimming over it. Pet play and degradation are a major ick for me 😭😭😭

THAT BEING SAID, this plot was actually insanity and the twists at the end had me on the edge of my seat! I’m so invested in the rivalry between the two gangs and without the strong plot I definitely would have struggled to get through this book!

Jades story also BROKE ME, I went into this despising her character only to find out how truly
misunderstood she is. This girl has been through hell and back and is still so strong and such a bad ass like all of Lola kings FMC.

We also get not one but two insanely morally black MMCs in this…. And holy hell, psychopaths honestly isn’t even a good enough word to describe them. I’m definitely an Ethan girlie, he’s such an emo sad bad I loved him.

As always with this series, it is extremely dark, one of the darkest I’ve read so please check your trigger warnings!!

1 STAR.

THIS might be the worst in the entire series. it was tedious to get through, cringe af, stupid, and disgusting. i was constantly staring at my screen like: Frustrated Blue EmojiScared and Defending Blue EmojiHolding It In Blue EmojiRoaring Angry Beast Blue Emoji this HAS to be a social experiment against society that lola king is the head of. there hasn't been serious moment in this whole ass series. it's filled with a bunch of bullshit with "tender" moments to try to make the readers feel something. the characters were especially stupid in this one. lola also attempted to concoct a silly plotline that i couldn't stop laughing at. but let's get into the characters now, shall we?

elliot pearson this mf doesn't and isn't deserving of being a DILF. istg if this clown called himself "daddy" one more time, i would hurl myself off a cliff with sharks circling underneath. this guy was the most not misogynistic but actually misogynistic character i've ever read about. slut shaming her constantly, forcing her to beg for his protection for survival, manipulating her, and so. much. more.
➪ “i’m pretty sure you could walk naked around the north shore and most of the guys there would be familiar with the view.” Oh!!!! such swoon-worthy material 🤭🤭🤭
➪ “say yes,” he rasps. “say, ‘elliot, i consent to being your good littlefuck toy again. any time of day and night, any state i’m in.’” N O, NO.
➪ “i talk, you two shut up. daddy will handle this shit.” *running to a toilet* Puke Emoji GIFs | Tenor
➪ forced jade into a choker that was chained to his wall.

ethan torres ugh i wanted to love him so bad!! i, for a moment, thought that there was going to be at least one redeemable character in this whole series. but then he randomly got hella controlling and WEIRD. i feel like this one quote is enough to display his character:
➪ you’re nothing,” i growl. “you’re a fuck toy, a little cum whore, a slutty little pet who deserves nothing but to be under my boot.”
➪ he also made her call him her master multiple times.. and i don't know about that one lola !!

jade alva i can proudly say that every fmc in this damn series is a doormat, and i haven't even read the fourth book yet. we were told to believe that she was this strong & self-relying woman, but once it came to ethan and elliot? D O O R M A T. i mean pls, can we get a woman who stands up for herself and has basic self-respect? her whole personality was being a tiny little fireball of energy who should be feared.
➪ "my biggest regret in life is not getting those hours of sleep when my dad put me to bed as a kid. i might have been taller. it might have been harder for ethan to pick me up like i weigh nothing and high enough that my feet don’t touch the floor anymore" so tiny & petite 🥺🥺🥺🥺

more problems (ik, that's possible?!?)
➪ why tf is there sex every single goddamn chapter. can we not get a break omg 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. these horndogs need to chill out. something good happens? sex. someone dies? sex. elliot wanting to exercise his control over jade just for her to refuse at first but then surprise!! she gives in immediately? sex. a tender heart-felt moment just happened? sex. just randomly on a normal boring tuesday? sex.
➪ the plot was actually so goofy i can't 😭😭. there was someone deadass just leaving cringe notes like "tick tock, soon dead girl." or "did you know a bullet through the head means someone dies immediately? through the heart means you have a few minutes. but through the lungs means at least a few hours of suffering? tick tock, dead girl." BYE💀🤚🏻.

overall: 🚮 x♾️

💌 again, i want to say a big thank you to my bff ash. babe, i wouldn't have gotten through any of the books if it weren't for you.

Loved the previous book within this thrilling series so I'm jumping into this one tonight!!

I love reading about these characters we’ve already encountered, what makes them tick, what made them the way they are, their past, their futures.

This series ticks so many boxes, from the gang life, the merciless killing, the hatred for the opposing gang, the girls that claim them and try and tame them.

These two non blood brothers are brutal when it comes to taking out an opponent, one’s a psycho killer, the other is the cleaner, but both deadly in their own rights.

Both in love with the same girl
One manipulates her, the other protects her

I couldn’t decide on which brother I liked the most, the deadly silent one, or the one that was ruthless in his pursuit of her.

Then we read why Jade is the way she is, the girl pegged as a liar
The girl who disappeared without a trace.
The girl who went from a sweet girl to a girl fighting demons with no one in her corner.

This series gets grittier, darker and more addictive book by book.

i truly don’t know what to rate this one. for now, i’ll give it 2.75-3 ⭐️ but i might change it later?

this is so unrelated to the story but i beg of you lola king, stop reminding me about xi initially being in love with his stepsister, i’m actively trying to forget that fact and you keep shoving it in my face 😭 why did we mention it 2-3 times in a book that’s not about him or billie?

now for a book that’s supposed to be mfm which i already wasn’t a fan of reading but was willing to give a fair chance, why was the whole book predominantly in elliot or jade’s pov? and whenever we did get ethan, nine times out of ten it was him singing some morbid rhyme to his victims before killing them? we have mmc number 1 who’s a master manipulator and then mmc number 2 who’s a serial killer 😭 i feel like i wouldn’t have even hated this if the guys weren’t shit.

don’t even get me started on the fuckass collar with a chain bolted to the fucking wall for over a week. you would have to move me to another planet to stop me from killing elliot. ethan with his pet play and master stuff too… you can’t even feel bad for her in this sense because she wanted it and kept going back for more 😬 no hate to anyone who liked it and enjoyed all this but me personally, i wanted to die reading this 😭 also can we please be fr. the fmc is barely five feet tall (as we kept being reminded of throughout the whole story) so why is elliot 6’7 😭 lmaoo please put the heights in those calculators online and look at the difference???

i did feel bad for jade with her past and i can now understand why she did all those things that made me hate her in book one. it was terrible seeing how all she wanted was someone to protect her and believe that she was telling the truth ): i will say, i liked some moments like when ethan was calming her down in the bathroom and making her promise not to force the food out of her and calling her beautiful! as well as the multiple times elliot would make sure she wouldn’t insult herself because she’s the most beautiful person in his eyes!

for anyone who read the stoneview stories, this is what it would’ve looked like if nathan and jake were willing (?) to share jamie. i say this because elliot and ethan weren’t even willing lmaoo. they still get jealous over the other and i’m sorry idc what anyone says but this trio would never last 😬 we have ethan going on reckless murder sprees because he wants to kill elliot and we have elliot getting at ethan’s past insecurities and using him like a puppet all because both of them want jade 🫩 how is it normal for you to brainwash your brother into breaking up with the girlfriend he loves and then blackmailing him for helping her escape?

i couldn’t take the mystery notes plot line seriously at all. it felt like a high school bully to me and these are people supposed to be in gangs…? the reveal got me because out of everyone i suspected, the one behind it never crossed my mind 😭 i forgot the character even existed until their reappearance so… the whole scene felt very anticlimactic.

i love alex 🙂‍↕️💓 she’s an angel and she was so sweet in this book!! she befriends jade, includes her in a gc with rose, cheers her on at races, saves her from that cop, and saved her life? i love her sm! also loved the little crumbs of her and xi!

the ending in kayla’s pov 🤭 i knew it was nathan helping emma all along… i’m so seated but also wdym lie in court what did she do to him?? and what did he do to her that she’d go to these lengths to keep him away? natekay here i come 🙂‍↕️

———

imagine my shock when i found out that book three in this series would be for some of the most diabolical characters ever. not a single one of them are likable. i thought ethan and elliot would’ve been fine after what they did near the end of beautiful fiend but of course they go on to do some bs in heartless beloved! i already can’t stand jade 🫩 lol i’m not looking forward to this at all and i fear for my sanity when i start this. wish me luck 😭 one book closer to natekay (they better be worth it omg) i can do this

the absolute unhinged, chaotic, psychopathic obsession these two had for her and the endless LOVE; soulmates if I ever saw it.

they really took “touch her and die” to a whole new level.

jade’s story broke my heart but the way ethan and elliot helped in her healing and finding her strength again was everything. she’s so brave and strong and must be protected at all costs. 😭

2⭐️ (subject to change)
I want to knock all three of their heads together, maybe then I’ll find a single brain cell between them.
Not a single likable character in sight. They made me love Alex, and I didn’t even like her before.
She refused to leave them, so I can’t even say she deserved better she’s just like them.

Started the series, so I might as well see it through! Hopefully this one’s better than the last! 🤞

Well well how the turntables(Michael - The Office) ….

I am surprised I am rating this book so high compared to my thoughts about the characters.
Going into this book suspiciously it’s an understatement. I HATED the main characters from book 1. I despised Jade and Elliot. I had more sympathy for Ethan but not enough to make me like him. I just read this book because I am OBSESSED with this series and I wanted to read it without skipping any even though they are interconnected standalone. I almost DNF a couple times because I couldn’t help but be annoyed by Jade and completely hating Elliot, again Ethan was the only one gaining my love but not enough to make me love the book like I did the first 2 but I persevered, I kept going and when I got to 60% the book gets into 360 FOR ME, I am sure everyone loved from the beginning, I am in the minority here people, pls give me a break! LOL.
But at 60% when they are finally all together this book went up in flames and was damn near delicious. 🔥🥵🔥🥵
Ethan remained my absolute favorite and if you read this book you will understand when I say that I don’t know what that says about me, but maybe if you see the books I read you will actually see that it tracks 😂
But than I also started to really like Jade and also liked Elliot a lot. Don’t get me wrong, the story is amazing from beginning to end, you understand how they are the way they are as it happens with every character of this series because they ARE gangsters, criminals and that’s the life they were thought to live and their reality is that period. They do things they are not proud of because they have to it most of the times they do it and have not a once of remorse. I just thought it was unnecessary to throw that useless piece of information on us about Caden and Ethan in the past because it was NEVER EVER mentioned in Caden’s book and it did nothing to the story besides make me salivate because if that happened I at least wanted to see it. 😭cause how hot right? So it’s not a 5⭐️ like the first 2 because it literally took 60% of the book for me to actually like it, so it wouldn’t be fair to give 5⭐️ but the last 40% made up for. Going to Kay book RIGHT this second. I wish Lola King wrote a book for Emma. 😭

2-2.5 stars.
I have mixed feelings on this. I like the plot of this book but I don't like how Jade was almost constantly sexually assaulted in some way by Elliot and Ethan. RTC.
The plot
This book follows Jade, Elliot and Ethan.
Jade ran away from the North shore two years ago after being suspected of stealing money from her gang (though this is not why she ran away).
She has been living with a man called Stan that is part of another gang since this time and is forced to be in a sexual relationship with him.
He was paying for her mother's cancer treatment before she died and now Jade has nowhere else to go. However her ex-boyfriend Ethan and his stepbrother Elliot have been looking for her and they find out her location from Zai who is a member of their rival gang, the RSC (I think their gang is the NSC).
Obviously they find Jade and then they kidnap her.
However someone is threatening Jade's life. Ethan and Elliot agree to protect her. Despite this they sexually assault her countless times even though this is the woman that they both love.
My thoughts
This was an entertaining read but I hated having to read about another main female character in the series getting sexually assaulted again and I think this one had the most sexual assault in it.
I didn't know that Jade was going through so much when I was reading the other books because she seemed to be fine but she suffers from an eating disorder though she is mostly recovered from it now and she is grieving both of her parents and her father committed suicide a few years ago.
Anyway I did enjoy the plot of Ethan, Elliot and Jade having to steal money with Kayla though.

“Now give it to me.” He senses my confusion. I know he does because I feel his smile against my ear. “Consent. To play with you however I want. Even when you’re in states where you can’t fight back. Even when you’re sleeping. You wanted the deal, and it comes with all of that. So say it.”

Well now, hello Lola King and where have you been all my life? On a forever hunt of dark romance with morally gray characters, deranged and possessive anti heroes, and a chapter just for the trigger warnings, I stumbled on the blurb for this book. Instantly intrigued, this easily became my first read from Lola King and I can definitely assure you that now it will not be my last.
You want to scream his name?” he grunts. “You’ll be crying mine.”

This is a dark MFM romance with a fierce heroine and two highly deranged anti hero step brothers.

Two years ago, Jade ran from Silver Falls and The Kings, leaving behind her past and taking her secrets with her. Or so she thought. Because two years later, the two men she thought she left in her rearview are back to collect, and they'll take her penance in her body, degradation, and possession.
Elliot Pearson scares me. Because he has eyes that resemble an angel and reflect the needs of the devil. Because his hair is the same color as the sun, but what’s inside his head is darker than the night.

Now admittedly, because I haven't yet read the first 2 books in this series, it took me a minute to wrap my head around all the secondary characters and the intricacies of the two gangs; Kings and North Shore Crew. Each character was more deranged and unhinged than the next and I was instantly hooked. There is nothing better than a well written, unhinged anti hero, and Lola King has a winning formula in this book. Elliot and Ethan were on another level.
My beautiful Ethan. Life never loved him, so he loves nothing in return.

Jade is no innocent. This is a woman who had to fight all her life. She gives as good as she takes, and boy is she forced to take it. When you run from a gang who thinks you stole something of theirs, there is no where to hide. Jade is not above using her body to survive, and there was something so endearing about her mix of vulnerability with fierce survivor. Once she loved Ethan and Elliot and they shattered her. Now they've dragged her back and give her a choice; their protection for her body and consent.
I’m sorry my love is selfish and destructive, but it’s real. You can hardly blame a man for his obsession when his obsession is you.”

This was a dark and gritty page turner full of suspense and multilayered characters. At times the kinks between them were almost too much, but it fit the story. Having said that, I did feel that the story could have been a bit shorter and still lost nothing in the process so it took me a bit longer to read. However, it was also all encompassing snd highly addictive. I'll now be going back to read Lola's entire backlist and most definitely the first two books in this series.

WOW just WOW. This is going to be a perfect five star series for me mark my fucking words.

I was a little hesitant going into this book to be honest with you. I even thought about skipping over it, and that would’ve been the biggest mistake because this book was phenomenal.

After finishing heartless beloved, I went into this book despising Ethan Elliott and Jade so I was unsure how I was going to connect to their story, and surprisingly now that Ive finished, I think I was the most emotionally connected to this one.

Lola’s MMCs are some of my favorite. They’re so different but they all possess some of my favorite qualities, ya know completely unhinged touch her and you die, tall as fuck with tattoos🤭 Elliot and Ethan did not disappoint
(I’m surprised with how much I LOVED Elliot😮‍💨🔥🖤)

The gang rivalry in the series is top-notch. Lola really has me bouncing back-and-forth between both crews because I’m just so invested in everybody’s story.

I can’t believe how much Jade grew on me. I ended up, loving her so much. Her story was so emotional, and I was so shocked when I started rooting for her, that’s how you know Lola can write some beautifully complex/lovable characters!

I was curious how this why choose was going play out because both brothers seemed a little possessive over Jade, but it ended up blending together so seamlessly.

This is gonna be a series that I will forever recommend it’s spicy, It’s dark, It’s entertaining, It’s deep, It’s exciting, it’s got some of the best characters and every storyline is so different which keep it interesting.
I seriously cannot wait to jump into “Lawless God”

WOW WOW WOW.
This was my first MFM and i loved it so much. I love the world that Lola created, i started reading her books when i fisrt saw Giving In and i fell in love with her writing, her world and her characters. Each book makes you want to be there. This is a dark book, you have the triggers at the beggining of the book.
Jade might be my favourite of all, she´s so strong and she went through so much. It broke my heart how she fell.
Elliot and Ethan were amazing and so hot, they are different and at the same time the same.
Their love, possession, their friendship was everything. I didn´t expect to love this book as much as i did, and i will read this again.
This world is one of my favourites to go into, with two rival gangs a lot angst, accion, love, fights, it will never get old.
Now i have to say something, Lawless God i´m coming for you, i can´t wait to read it because THE MALE CHARACTER, i was waiting for his book for a long time and he´s finally here. I want to know more about their story.

Thanks to Valentine Pr for the Arc.

I didn't think Lola King would make me like Jade or Elliot but here I am, feeling bad and wanting to be their friend. If you've read the first two books, you know the North Shore is MESSY and DANGEROUS. In most books, you have an obvious "bad guy" but Lola King makes you hate people in this series and then turn around and fall in love with their personal story. It's safe to say this entire universe has a chokehold on me. I've loved every single book. This book is a second chance, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, step sibling's masterpiece. If those are tropes you love, pick up this book. The series is 1000% worth the read.

I just fucking love Lola King’s books and the characters she creates, I didn’t like Jade and the brothers in the first two books but everything shitty they did was explained in this book, It was an emotional roller coaster and I enjoyed the hell out of it!!!

This book is definitely not my favorite in this series and the spicy scenes weren’t my thing, but I still really really liked this book, the character development, the plot, the storyline, I would definitely read it again!

First of all, thank you so much Hanna and Anitta for recommending this to me😘

I absolutely DEVOURED this book. From the very first chapter, it had me in its claws. The things the MMCs did—even to their girl—just to keep her with them… omgggg, straight-up heinous, messed up, and questionable, bro. But here I am, completely ate up by it 😭😭😭😭.

I loved Jade sooo much. No matter how much wrong and unfairness was thrown at her, she stood tall—the woman she was. She’s now one of my all-time favorite FMCs. Her anger, her breakdowns, her trust issues, her insecurities, her resilience—omggg, everything about her connected with me on a whole other level.

The twists and turns had me gasping out loud. The degradation kink, the pet thing, and the collar thing weren’t for me… but honestly, that’s fine—because not everything in the plot needs to be my thing.

As a certified why choose hater….. I loved this one. I loved the dynamic between Ethan & Elliott when it came to Jade.

Also, my heart broke for Jade throughout the entirety of the book. Someone just listen to the poor girl 😭

Lola King will always be a one click author for me. She has this gift where she’s able to make you hate a character at the beginning of her book but be in love with them by the end. This book was no exception.

I was not Jades biggest fan at the start of this book from having glimpses of her in other books. Being able to see the full story to why she is the way she is and what she went through just broke my heart. She is so strong and endured so much in the best way that she knew how. Seeing her finally let go of her past and embrace these boys was such a journey! I loved it!

Ethan and Elliot are stepbrothers who are both in love with the same woman. They are psycho, possessive, obsessive, touch her and I will unalive you kind of men.
They fall hard for their girl and are never afraid to tell her how beautiful she is, even when she doubts it. Each of them have their own struggle they have to process and boy do they ever.

The twists of this book had my jaw dropping. I thought I knew what was about to happen but I truly had no idea!

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 The spice in this book was so on point! We had a bit of a slow burn at the beginning but when it kicked in, it went from 0 to 60 almost as fast as Jade’s car!

“Soon I'll hold your pretty little heart in the palm of my hand. Eventually, you won't be able to breathe unless I allow that heart to beat.”

I have NO clue how this series manages to get better with each book! I am loving this series it’s got to be one of my favourites! I was abit worried how I would be able to get through this book and be able to like these characters because of how they behaved in the previous books but once jade had the chance to explain herself my heart broke for her, she is easily the strongest FMC in the series and so misunderstood!
This book had me sobbing at so many parts because I could feel jades pain and frustration through not being believed and how hard that is, no wonder she was always so angry. Ethan and Elliot are sooo toxic and manipulative but I absolutely loved them (it’s okay because it’s fiction 😜). I loved that they really struggled with the polyamory and it didn’t completely come naturally to them, it made it much more realistic, but why choose is by far my favourite trope so I was always going to love they were able to open the relationship.
All three of these characters are really complicated and deep and I loved trying to work out why they were the way they were. This series is perfectly dark and I’m going to be so sad to be on the last book I don’t want this series to end! This one had to be the hottest book so far, the spice in all these books are amazing but this one was just next level, the fact that one praises while one degrades was just perfect🥵 it was a perfect ‘good top bad top’ situation. And just like the others the soundtracks for each of the chapters in this series are so good!

I don’t even know what to do with myself now that I’ve binged this entire series. I miss being in the North Shore already. I’ll just be here (im)patiently waiting for book 4, Lawless God, to release in April.

Delightful Sins follows Jade, Ethan, & Elliot who are all apart of the Kings crew from the North Shore. Ethan is Jade’s ex who broke her heart & she never really got over him. She tried moving on with his step-brother, Elliot which quickly turned messy. Fast forward a couple of years, Ethan & Elliot have to track down Jade & bring her back to the North Shore when the head of their gang is convinced she stole money from her & that’s the reason she fled town. Little does Jade know she’s about to sell her soul to the devil(s) once she’s finally back where she belongs…

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t super excited for this book ONLY because I absolutely hated Jade in book 1. However, we learn a lot about her in this book and why she did the things that she did & I’m so so glad I pushed through & finished this book! Their story was so raw & real & beautiful. I seriously can’t recommend this entire series enough — as always, be sure to check TWs!!

“ethan torres and elliot pearson are kneeling before me and no one else, ready to love me for who i am. that kind of power is dizzying. overwhelming. addictive”

i am super super picky with MFM books because they need to be written so damn good in order for me to love it. and Lola did such a great job with it. truly, i felt there was a perfect balance between Ethan & Elliot and that is the first thing i look for in every MFM book or any book really that involves 2 or more love interest. i don’t like to feel that the FMC loves one more then the other and in this book you could feel how much Jade loved the both of them equally and wholeheartedly. it was beautiful!! i knew with how much i hated Jade in the first 2 books, that’d i learn her story and fall in love with her in her own book and did just that. Jade, Ethan & Elliot have a connection like no other. each character brought something different to the table & it truly amazed me how well they all fit together and balanced eachother out. their story truly was beautiful. their love for one another was real and raw and you could just feel it. the chemistry, banter, sexual tension, the plot..this book had it all. and the spice ?!?? excuse me, i had tear drops going down my legs. they had no reason being THAT fkn sexy, demanding, obsessive, possessive, dominant AND kinky asf.

Jade: i love love love jade & her story broke my heart. she is brash, angry, loud, strong and stubborn. but such a badass. her character growth was amazing, by the end of the book i felt she was an entire different person. i found Jade to be real and raw. i felt so much emotion reading about her trauma and what she went through. Jade is truly one of best FMC i’ve ever read about & def one of my favs now. i loved the vulnerability she brought out in Ethan & Elliot, she had them wrapped around her finger.

Ethan Torres: it’s always the fkn quiet ones that do the kinkiest shit. Ethan is quiet and reserved. his nights are spent brutally murdering those who have done wrong. sooooo basically all the people who even breathed wrong around Jade. i loved Ethan so much.
Elliot Pearson: fkn elliot. he is goofy, charismatic, & manipulative asf. he is in charge of the relationship. it took me a second to truly love Elliot just because of how manipulative he was, especially towards his brother. but i grew to love him so much, he just wanted to be loved and be apart of Jades heart just as much as Ethan was.
they are both unhinged, dark, possessive and obsessive and would do anything & everything for Jade. it was interesting watching two possessive ass men share the one person they loved. but damn did they make it work and made it work too damn good. they are soooo down bad for her.

fav quotes⛓️🩸

“you want to scream his name?…..you’ll be crying mine”

“i love ethan the same way he plays his instruments. so fiercely that my heart can never forget it. he can stop playing for months, if he picks up his guitar, closes his eyes, lies down in bed, his hands will play any music without the slightest effort. that’s how i love him. effortlessly. the muscle that is my heart does it with graceful ease, and i have no control over it”

🩷“did you notice you don’t have a favorite anything?”
💙“you” “you’re my favorite taste. you’re my favorite quote, book, movie, season, holiday. you’re my favorite everything, jade. every experience in life is dull unless you’re there”

“you are a queen, jade. you’re my heaven and hell, my most beautiful salvation”

“i want you to admit you’re a dirty slut who’s going to come with a dick in her mouth and one in her pussy”

“i’m sorry my love is selfish and destructive, but it’s real. you can hardly blame a man for his obsession when his obsession is you”

“you gave him four orgasms, so you give me four. spread your legs and lifts your hips, my love. ethan is going to lick his own cum from your pussy so i can replace it with mine”

THIS SERIES HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD!!!! I was a bit apprehensive going into this book. Firstly because I loathed Jade, Ethan and Eliott in the previous books. And secondly because I’ve never read a why choose before that I’ve liked. I love to be proved wrong. This book was perfection! I loved Jade from the first chapter and her characters feminine rage really spoke to me. Also Lola Kings MMCs are just elite!!! They are soooooo different from everything else I’ve ever read and I love all of them. All her characters have such depth and they are so flawed. JUST SHEER PERFECTION!!! I’m also a sucker for a heist and street racing, and this book had both.
When you know from the prologue how the book will end it just added to the suspense and heartbreak until the very last page.
Now I can’t wait for Kaylas book!!!! I love me a morally black, unhinged FMC! I’m obsessed with her already 🖤🖤🖤
