The gods demand a ruler. The Fates demand a test.

Nyx, a mortal girl struck by lightning is chosen to replace Zeus in the celestial realm. With no choice but to embrace her new divine role, she is thrust into the heart of a godly power struggle. As her powers awaken, Nyx must navigate deadly trials and the politics of the gods. She soon realises, that among gods, no one is what they seem.

As war looms and secrets unravel, Apollo, the charming God of the Sun, offers warmth. Ares, the brutal God of War, pulls her into the fires of battle and loyalty. Hades, the enigmatic God of Death, hides secrets that could change everything.

Nyx is torn between the gods who want her to reshape Olympus and those who fear her. Love and war converge as she must decide...will she rule as Zeus did, or will she forge her own path?

3.5 ⭐️ Well done, Raven Ash on your debut novel! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader. I thoroughly enjoyed the story you created and the chaos that Stormbound is! I found the plot to be interesting and gripping. The banter between the characters was enjoyable. The world building was easy to follow, which I can always appreciate. After finishing Stormbound, I found myself wanting more... I feel as though the characters were very "surface level", so in the next book (which I will absolutely be reading), I hope to get more depth out of the characters. I wasn't a huge fan of the "love square" (for lack of better words), that was happening between the 4 main characters, but that could just be a "me"'thing. There were quite a few grammatical errors, but that did not deter me from the book or my overall experience. Overall, I do hope to get more depth into the world & characters in the next book. I look forward to book 2 and seeing how the story plays out! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Greek mythology and a quick/easy to follow storyline.

4/5 book for me, I absolutely adore the Greek mythology aspect of this book. The character development for our fmc was beautiful. My only the only thing I would change is that I would love to see more of Hades, as to me he didn’t feel as involved as our other two male main characters. But hopefully we’ll get more of that further in the series! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series, because if they’re anything like the first book they’re going to be amazing!

Really I give this like a 3.5 ✨.

I love Greek mythology and fantasy and the fact that this morphed the two together.

There is definitely this weird love….. square???
Apollo, who just was way too easy and loved Nyx from the jump and then fucked her.

Ares, who naturally was an asshole who had a crush on her. Then he trained her and followed her to the underworld where he proceed to lick her cooch and then the next day tell her it meant nothing and that she was nothing to him. Okay, COOL. Bitch.

THEN she almost DIES and Ares is like omg I love her she can’t die. Okay, great.

Hades, who I loved the whole time, just awkwardly confesses that he likes her and they’re lowkey meant to be? Then just watches Ares and Apollo have this weird mental battle/share Nyx?

Idfk.

I love the trials and the little plot twist of her actually being Zeus’ and Chaos daughter who was hidden in the mortal world though!

I did enjoy the story line. Really didn’t like the insta love with Apollo’s easy ass. I’m a sucker for the toxic ones…. Unfortunately… so team Ares!!!

Can’t wait to see Nyx fuck shit up in the next book!

The Fate of Olympus

This is a book I saw on Booktok and immediately one clicked. Greek Gods? Mythical creatures? Sign me up! Actually keeping it Greek? Fantastic! The world building was on point, the characters each pulled you in different ways. The brutality of the gods isn’t sugar coated. Absolutely hooked me in and kept me reading it all day! The next book cannot come fast enough!

The plot and the story to it’s core is absolutely magnificent - it’s what drew me in to begin with! A mortal girl who is chosen by the Fates as Zeus’ replacement and has to face three trials to prove she is worthy of being a God. INSANE.

But I just didn’t love this :( the characters have the same conversations over and over again throughout the book, their connections lack so much depth, i was so disappointed i really wanted to love this.

Good book.. I like the unique idea that’s the Greek Gods aren’t truely immortal. They can die and they’re replaced with mortals the fates choose. Each god also gets a bonded animal companion. Love it. Our FMC thinks she’s an ordinary human until the night of birthday when she’s struck with lighting and chosen to replace a god. She faces trials to prove herself along the way. While fighting politics and her heart and the three Gods she is undeniably attracted to and are also invested in her.

The story is fast pacing which made it easy to devour. I love the vivid world without the dense world building. Easy to enjoy.

When I saw this come up on my TikTok a few months ago, I knew this would be the book for me!

All the world building was incredible, understanding Olympus & its gods was key to the story. At first I was a bit perplexed about the stealing her away in the middle of the night, but it did make sense eventually.

I love the love triangle that’s going on, it definitely gives me Blood of Hercules vibes. But I love that they aren’t in competition with each other, they all love her individually and collectively, all in different ways.

Only reason it wasn’t five stars was because the ending felt a little bit rushed for me, there were a few typos throughout, and the layout of the book just seemed a bit weird and spaced out. However, will I read book two when it’s out? ABSOLUTELY!

I will say, as an indie author, this book did have some errors/typos that needed editing, but Raven has managed to edit the kindle version since the books release, so if you are picking this book up, I would recommend the e-book until the physcial copies can also be corrected.
However, from a storyline perspective, this book was such a good time, and has so much potential for the rest of the series! The actual concept of Gods/Goddesses being replaced by mortals as selected by the fates, is brilliant! The introduction to our FMC immediately makes you want to root for her, and the journey she takes as she becomes a God is thrilling and powerful.
The world building is beautifully written, and shows that Raven has clearly taken time to research the time period and history, and you can feel her passion in her writing. Some of the descriptions in this book are written so perfectly you could lose yourself in them.

I'm really excited to see where the rest of this story goes, and how our FMC develops as she discovers her power alongside an ecccletic cast of Gods!

I love greek mythology so this book was very fun to see the interpretation of the gods.
However, I felt that Nyx did not have a lot of emotional depth, often didn't grow and didn't develop deeper relationships. It all felt very on the surface.
That being said, I enjoyed reading the book, I flew through it in two days and had a great time the whole time.

I want to start by saying that I received this book as an ARC. For me, this book deserves 3.5 ⭐️ i liked the plot and the direction it went to, i also enjoyed the world building. The book follows Nyx, a mortal, who suddenly finds herself swept away in Olympus, preparing to become the next Zeus. In order to stabilise Olympus and become Zeus, she needs to pass three trials. She also has 3 love interests, Apollo, Ares and Hades.
I think the book was good, well written, but it did leave me wanting more. The romance was there, but not quite there if you know what I mean.
That being said, I think the book has a lot of potential, both in terms of plot and romance, and I think I would enjoy reading the second book once it comes out.

Wow.
Raven you smashed it out the park.
From court intrigue, politics, love intrigue, yearning, found friendships.
I love Greek mythology and have been dying to read another since I read touch of darkness and this my dear has hit all the spots.
I couldn't put this down.
it had me chuckling and giddy from the banter to the pet names she was also given and I loooooove the fact it's about Nyx who is barely ever written about. that alone deserves all the stars

thank you to Raven for this opportunity to read this Arc for an honest review

Arc read: I wasn’t fully sure what I was getting into with this book, but Greek mythology and twists on them are always some of my favorites. And this did not disappoint, love, spice, intrigue, politics and the whims of the Gods. Stormbound has it all. I highly reccomend if you enjoy any of these things, check it out May First. Raven Ash smashed it out of the park with this one, a delightful new twist on Greek Myths, court intrigue, politics, and some wonderful yearning, I can’t wait to see where this ends up.

Greek gods, mythological creatures, 3 gorgeous male gods & death trials.... need I say more!?😍😍😍

The ending felt slightly rushed for me & noticed a few spelling mistakes but this didn't stop me from loving the story & the characters were wrote really well. I could have easily read another 100 pages of this!

This, I am finding, is a difficult book to review. Not that I didn't like it or that I loved it, it's hard to explain.
The story of this book was epic, I will say that. The magic, the concept, the love interests, the light banter and playfulness in some aspects, the bonded animals, this was all fantastic. However, the execution felt... lacking. For a 400-page book, a lot happened. Everything went by so quickly, and there was barely any world building, I can barely picture what the characters would look like and the character development just wasn't as epic as it could have been based on Nyx's story. I think it could have been easily bulked put and almost felt rushed, but all in all was a good story, and I look forward to seeing it progress! 2.5⭐️

THOUGHTS:

Overall I really did enjoy this book. I love Greek Mythology and have always found it so interesting so this was easy for me to get hooked into. I loved the concept of the plot, she is Zeus, they aren’t always born this way but chosen even as normal mortals when needed. It seemed like some were the originals as it was mentioned which to me seems maybe they have always been that one.

Nyx is chosen to take over Zeus who has vanished and thus causing Olympus to die essentially. I like how she wasn’t just given the title and moved into the position easily. She still has to earn her right to be the Queen/King of Olympus.

The only real issue I had was I felt like she moved on to quickly from her life changing. From going from really concerned and sad to just okay let’s do this. There were a few grammar spots I noticed, but nothing that really impacted the story at all. Overall I really did love this book, I ate it up and I am so excited for the next book to come out so I can continue the story!

WORLD BUIDLING:

I found the world building to be there, I wish there was a little more but I had no issue imagining the world as I read. I think for me I tend to do this easily already but I also can imagine how Olympus looks. I found the world building to be good. I do hope to see more of it in the next book, but overall it was good!

CHARACTERS:

We get to meet all the Gods, and I love the personalities of each and how they truly did line up with history - though had they not I wouldn’t had cared either. I won’t dive into every single one, you’ll need to read to learn about them all…lol

Nyx is a mortal girl whose life is turned upside down in an instant and she doesn’t even get to say goodbye to anyone. She is thrown into a role she doesn’t want. But she steps up when she learns and builds bonds with those around her. Nyx seems shy at first, but she opens up as the story goes. I wouldn’t say she is a sassy tone, but she knows how to throw it back when dished. She is strong, and refuses to give up. I am excited to see how she grows in the next two books and comes into her role. I love the friendship she formed with Persephone in an unlikely alliance. I do love the twist with her background. And I am curious to learn more about Hera and her role. I always knew Hera to be jealous and spiteful, but I am curious if there is a bigger connection to Hera and Nyx.

ROMANCE:

This is slow burn, I was WAITING. I wouldn’t say there is spice in the way you are used to in spicy books, but there is still something. It definitely shows it but then cuts off where you are left wanting more.

I did feel like some of the romance was a little rushed in the beginning, and she easily gave her love to the first man there. But I loved that she didn’t entirely settle at first. I am not always a fan of multiple love interests and this many at that, it gets messssssy. But I am curious to see how things progress. And if she doesn’t end up with who I want I am going to be so sad. I do find it an interesting take that all three of them are so willing to let the others try to win her heart, without it being such a testosterone battle.

Ares - I knew he’d be my favorite from the start. Something about a man that wants to play hard to get, but will do whatever he has to for the girl he loves. I knew he loved her the moment he tried to act like he didn’t. But I love the God of War, always being so harsh and focused in history having a soft side.

Hades - He is quiet, I haven’t fully figured out him yet and if I see him with her. I got more of a big brother vibe with him from the start of the book. But I am curious to see their interest advance. I feel like he is on team Ares, but I also feel like he loves Nyx. I just can’t tell if it is romantic in that way or a sister way yet.

Apollo - I don’t know what it is about him but something is pushing me more towards I can’t trust him. I love Apollo in history, but something about him is giving me evil vibes.

I received Stormbound as an ARC from the author Raven Ash and thoroughly enjoyed reading about Nyx’s rise to power in Olympus. The character dialogues were entertaining, and the overall storyline was gripping - I devoured the second half of the book in just two days! By the time I reached the end, I was eager for more and will definitely be continuing this trilogy when the next book comes out.

One aspect I really appreciated was that Nyx isn’t 16 or 17, as many female protagonists tend to be. Instead, she’s 24, which feels much more natural, especially given that her love interest are gods that are probably hundreds or so years old!

However, I did feel that the second trial, particularly the Labyrinth, was extremely rushed. There was a steady build-up leading to it, but it ultimately lacked the “wow” factor I was anticipating. Since the Labyrinth plays mind games, I expected Nyx to struggle more before falling for its trick. A deeper inner monologue could have enhanced this moment, allowing us to see her slowly unravel under its effects.

The romance with Apollo felt like it was developing well, but when it came to the other two characters in the love square, the dynamic felt somewhat forced. Their relationships didn’t carry the same depth, and I personally would have preferred if Apollo had been the sole love interest.

I’m only 26% through but I fear I may have to DNF. The idea of the book is fantastic, though I do feel like a bit more world building or even describing the FMC would have been helpful as so far, we’ve had physical descriptions of the other characters but not much on the FMC herself.

An inconsistency on Poseidon’s eyes, one page stating they’re a “deep blue” then another “sea green”, unless they change colour, which is cool.

However, forgetting full stops and using commas in place of other punctuation is not so great, using “loose” in place of “lose” (as in lost), “stood” twice in the same sentence (unnecessarily), other words mistaken for similarly sounding words, two paragraphs more or less stating they same thing just reworded (multiple times throughout the book) etc.

I feel like this book really has great potential, however, it would 100% benefit from an editor or at least beta readers to catch all those little things out.

This book *does* move quite fast & it’s quite a pleasant, light read.

3 stars instead of 5 simply due to me being pedantic, I can get over one or two errors but I have lost count at this point.

Starting off, I had to knock a star off immediately due to the first part of the book. The font, font size and the way the author spaced her paragraphs changed, I’m not sure if it was just an issue with the kindle version, but it really bothered me. I also checked on my app on my phone and it was the same issue so wasn’t down to my device.

This book has a lot of potential, but I just didnt connect whatsoever with the main characters. I felt the plot was a little rushed which caused it not to be executed well and why there was that disconnect with the characters. I think if we slowed it down a little more, more world building it would’ve had a greater impact to the overall story.

I will say the concept of this book was good, and I do believe it does have a lot of potential going forward, but I think potentially more ARC readers etc would help clean up some of the plot and take the book to the next level

Probably a 2.5 🌟 rounded up

I really liked the premise of the story - mortals being called up by the Fates to take over as one of the Greek God's - but I felt that the writing was lacking, and not very much happened with the story. The main character, Nyx, doesn't really have very much of a personality, and I wasn't invested in or rooting for her like I wanted to be. The dialogue between characters within this story often felt repetitive, and parts of it really did give me teenage-Wattpad-fic vibes. It did get better as I continued reading, however, and there were parts I enjoyed. Poseidon's familial relationship with Nyx was sweet, Hades as a character was engaging, and the tension between Ares and her was a highlight. On the other hand, her relationship with Apollo was lacking, in my opinion.

All that being said, I'd like to see what happens next.

don't do it. once again, I was fouled by TikTok. the idea was cool, but the execution wasn't there. we get no backstory to anything, no story build up to anything, so you don't care about anything. why would Nyx so quickly care about saving Olympus? of course she falls quickly for the men/gods around her but again there's no dynamics so who cares. Nyx acts so hard when it comes to training constantly saying she isn't weak or that she won't quit. all we got was 2 seconds of what seemed like a perfectly fine life so what makes her so eager to go through trials that could kill her along with gruesome training? overall, a very frustrating read.

I read this book as a TikTok creator I follow recommended it. I was quite excited as it seemed to have all the elements I like; Greek mythology, reverse harem, romance... However, the book did fall flat, it was a slow read for me and I feel the relationships between the FMC and the MMCs could have been better. My favourite part was the FMC’s interactions with Hermes, Persephone and Dionysus.
