As with the first two, I'd read most of these shorts before as I am a subscriber of Lily's newsletter.

That doesn't mean that it's not worth it to have this little gem of a book in my collection though because having all the short stories - and four completely new ones - gathered together means I can just nip in and out of it when I want!

The five new stories are lovely snippets into the lives of some of Lily's most beloved characters. While Mal & Caden will always be top of my tree, their story was written for me after all 💗Dylan & Gabe were my first loves.

I fell in love with Lily's writing with her Beggar's Choice MF series, especially when she capped that series off with John & Matt's romance, but it was Dylan and Gabe who sealed it for me and here we get a few chances to catch up with them.

The best one is the first of the new stories The School Trip something a lot of people have been asking for and I won't give away anything other than to say it had me laughing from start to finish.

We also do get to see my Mal & Caden too, as Jude and Mal reunite after the short story Green Eyes which is in the first Short Stack book. This sees Jude & Asa heading for Fowey in Cornwall and a chance meeting with supermodel and snark king Mal at a local market.

All in all, this collection has 15 glorious little bubbles of happiness, laughter, steamy times and - above all - love between some of Lily's most favourite characters.

Highly worth adding to your bookshelf.

I always enjoy when Lily puts out another Short Stack compilation because it's always so fun to get updates on all of the characters and see where they're at in their lives now.

Dylan and Gabe were definitely the highlight for me as usual - they're still my favourite Lily Morton couple. I love their sarcasm, and I love how they link to so many of the other characters. Seeing Mags, Dean, Asa and Jude was so fun. Gabe being a sweet little secret marshmallow is always enjoyable to read too! Honestly made me want to re-read their book again...

I also loved Jude and Mal's reunion (I adore Mal), seeing Bee and Tom's time in Amsterdam, and Ivo taking Henry camping.... need I say more?!

A lot of these stories I have read in Lily's newsletters but it's nice to have them all together to go on the bookshelf too - highly recommend signing up so you can get the Model Clinic podcast run by Mal, Dean, Pip and Xander!

There isn't much to say about this installment, except that it was cute, adorable and enjoyable to revisit all our fave couples from all of this author's works. Not every single couple was featured, but a lot were.

I skipped some stories as I had already read them. Some I needed a refresher on but once I got into the story, then I remembered them. They were all as lovely as I remember.

So I'll focus this review mainly on the new stories we were given in this - The School Trip, A Honeysuckle Interlude, A Family Affair, Bee's Amsterdam, and Gone Camping.

The School Trip - A revisit to Gabe and Dylan, the couple that truly started it all (I know she'd written a few books before their book, but it feels like these two were the couple to launch this author into stardom, as it were.)

As these two visit where Jude and Asa live, they accidentally maybe on purpose get roped into chaperoning a school trip to the aquarium by themselves without Asa and Jude or Billy, as Billy is apparently sick and they must take care of him.

This is a cute little short where these two look after little terrors known as children and we understand why this particular couple will stick to their dogs and never have children.

It's fun seeing Gabe suffer through looking after children, though.

A Honeysuckle Interlude - This was cute. Barnaby and Cosmo aren't my faves, but they're cute. And we get a bit of steam in this (not full on, but some fun times) that was fun to read. This book/these shorts were not heavy on the smut so that was fun to see.

A Family Affair - A great look at Laurie meeting Mags' father, stepmother and mother for the first time. They are quite the characters. Was happy to get more Laurie and Mags, and we got full on sexy times in this one, which was a big plus. I really enjoyed this one.

Bee's Amsterdam - Ahh, getting to see how Tom proposes to Bee was wonderful, and all the starts and stops as Tom tries to propose to Bee in the perfect way, only his plans keep getting foiled. Bee is oblivious to all the obvious hints as to what Tom is wanting to do, and of course in the end the proposal is perhaps not "perfect" on paper but it's perfect for these two.

And adorable addition to their love story, for sure.

Gone Camping - I adored this one, with Henry and Ivo going camping in a van lent to them by Ivo's friend, and seeing Henry, the perpetual rich city boy deal with nature and the elements was hilarious. Through it all their love shined through. Ah, the things we do for love. Like going camping when you've never been before with your designer clothes and shoes.

But there was a sweet moment when Ivo is having a nightmare and Henry is there to comfort him and make it better.

Overall, a fun third installment of this author's shorts. I say, keep them coming! It's always fun to get more bits and pieces of these couple's lives and never quite having to say goodbye to any of them.

So, until the next! Can't wait! 🥰

Short Stack 3 by Lily Morton was such a great way to catch up with some of my favorite characters. I loved getting glimpses into the HEAs of all of them. I particularly enjoyed Gabe and Dylan, Jude and Asa, and Mags and Laurie. Laurie is such a defender of Mags and I live for it. When I love books, I always hate to leave the characters behind. I adore how Lily lets us into the lives of these characters even if it’s just for a few moments.

The first thing you need to know about this anthology is that it is made up of shorts based on Lily Morton books. So there are stories from her newsletter, from her Facebook page, and then five new short stories (which of course were my favorites). It is broken up by the couples who featured in a book. Additionally, we get glorious intersections with the couples, because many are friends, coworkers, or neighbors. I loved reading one such as Tricky, which features Gabe and Dylan and getting a cameo from Magnus. Just as an aside, the reason for the name Tricky is adorable and shows the true Gabe. Or when Asa and Jude take a weekend away and end up running into Mal and Caden.
There are shorts involving Gabe and Dylan; Jude and Asa; Henry and Ivo; Oz and Silas; Freddy and Darcy; Barnaby and Cosmo; Joe and Lachlan; Rafferty and Stan; Jed and Artie; Bee and Tom; and Mags and Laurie. I’ve read all their stories and my favorite couple changes all the time. If I had to choose a favorite of this anthology, I would say A Mystery Tour with Stan and Rafferty, but I loved them all. Oh, it might be Bee in Amsterdam. And for me, the funniest was Gone Camping.
The best part is every short features Lily Morton’s brand of snark and banter, with love as the foundation underneath, whether it is between family, couples, or friends. “To be handing you something like that, I would have to be one of your men, and I can honestly say, Raff, that I’d rather eat my intestines with a teaspoon.” Or, “And Ivo said he’d rather cut his ankles off with a butter knife than have to do this.”
There are such sweet moments, too, such as Gabe buying a very expensive collar for the dog. “He’s been homeless. I thought Louis Vuitton would cheer him up.” What is consistent about the stories is that the love shines through.

Lily Morton's Short Stack 3 is a collection of extra scenes and short stories featuring the beloved couples from Morton's full-length romances. This is the third set of such stories, which includes some scenes previously released to her Facebook reader's group and some that are brand new. Don't be deceived by the length - stories written by Morton pack a punch even when told through just a handful of pages. Her characters are engaging, fully realized, complex, loveable and like old friends to us. We know and love these men so these stories are truly gifts to her readers - little slices of their lives that happened behind the scenes or after the book ended.

Morton's consistently high caliber writing makes each of these stories a delight, and you'll appreciate the crossovers that appear throughout. My personal favorites of Short Stack 3 are Tricky, a previously released Christmas story featuring Gabe and Dylan (and Mags!) post-Vow Maker (just as adorable upon rereading), Old Acquaintance featuring Asa and Jude (and Caden and Mal!), and all of the Mags and Laurie content (love this couple sooo much!). Whereas Short Stack 1 and 2 focused more on the OGs from her Mixed Messages, Close Proximity and Finding Home series, Short Stack 3 leans heavily towards the couples from her more recent books like her Confetti Hearts series and Bee and Tom from Merry Measure/ The Wright Brothers series (On Circus Lane). Perhaps the most appealing thing about Short Stack 3 is that you can read it in bits and pieces, on a lunch hour or your work commute - whenever you have a few minutes to indulge and escape. If you love Lily Morton's romances, Short Stack 3 is a no-brainer. Highly recommended.

Apart from The School Trip, A Honeysuckle Interlude, A Family Affair, Bee’s Amsterdam, and Gone Camping, that are completely new, the rest of the stories were in Lily's group or newsletter. Did that mean that I didn't enjoy them? Nope because it had been some time since I read them. Of course my faves were the ones with Gabe and Dylan, Asa and Jude and Silas and Oz.

I'd have loved to have one with Gideon and Eli but alas it was not meant to be.

Laurie and Mags were a treat as well although my heart broke for Mags for how he was treated by his mother. If only she could understand the role she majorly played for how Mags was.

The rest of the stories were ok and that's because I'm not fond of them much.

My reasons for going with 3 stars are that I found that Ivo's character isn't very consistent to his background story. As a photojournalist in war zones you'd think that he'd have certain political views and sensitivities, so supporting a coffee company that's known for its views and what they support, and using Congo as a derogatory comparison to some roads in a English village, a country that's exploited to its bones for its resources used on smartphones, were such a turn off for me.

My other reason is Tom's proposal to Bee and mainly the fact that he did it drunk. Frankly it's a theme with Lily's characters doing things while being drunk out of their wits and I'm beyond over it.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I adore Lily Morton's work, but the short stacks are not my favorite thing overall. Most of the stories are marvelous treats, but they make me want to go back and re-read the main series they are based on, then come back and re-read the shorts. Since this book covers six series, each with at least three books each, plus some stand-alone novels, I could go on a serious Lily binge. Not a bad thing, but I didn't notice how interconnected all these tales were until this book, since I originally read the books as they came out, except for a couple of series that were already complete when I discovered this author.
This intertwining makes for a world one can get tangled and lost in---a rabbit hole that puts Alice's to shame!

I am a very easily confused person; I think doing a total redo of all Lily's books might just warp my brain entirely. (I actually wouldn't mind the adventure if Amazon didn't make it such a pain in the rear to repeat reading a book. No matter what options I choose, any book I've already read always opens at the end of the story, so I have to fiddle my way back to the beginning, which means twenty-plus rounds of unnecessary monkeying to revisit the lot. Dunno why they offer the choice of "mark book as unread" "clear to last page read" and other options that don't do a blessed thing but make even more work to get back to the beginning of a book.)

However: at least now I have a map through the connections to help me navigate!!

a delightful must have collection of stories for fans of this author and her books

Rating: 5🌈

A delightful collection of short stories that pick up the lives of various characters from the books and series of Lily Morton. I quickly finished this, looking for my favorite couple’s stories first, then going back through the others.

A absolutely joy to revisit each one of these characters and see them once again, in various places in their relationships. Moving, funny and always beautifully written.

A must read for lovers of the books and author.

I was eager to read this book, and I really enjoyed it.
I start saying that, since we talk about short stories, that take place after the “happily ever after”, it’s recommendable to read the full novels first, because there are some spoilers
This said, as usual when it comes to this author, who’s one of my favourites, I found myself laughing a lot for her sassy, and funny characters, and scenes (do we want to talk about the first one about ice skating, just to start with? Hilarious, really!).
There is a mix of stories starring old friends, like Gabe, Dylan, Asa, Jude, ect., and newer ones, like Bee, Tom, Mags, and Laurie.
What I loved the most was the fact that characters from different books came together in the same short story, and interacted with each other exactly the way every fan of the Lilyverse has always dreamed of. And it was really lovely, and heartwarming to see that happening on page.
The author managed to mix funny moments together with more serious ones, blending them perfectly.
I have to say that, despite loving every single character, I have a soft spot for Jude, Mal, and the whole “old” Mixed Messages crew in general, maybe because they were the first I “met”. Anyway, I can only recommend this book, after reading what happens before the happily ever after.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Short Stack, Volume 3 is the third collection of short stories by Lily Morton. Like the original Short Stack, as well as Volume 2, this anthology includes mostly previously released stories, as well as a handful of new ones. I think the sweet spot for this collection is folks who are familiar with most of the novels to which these stories connect, but perhaps have not already read most of the re-released shorts that originally appeared in Morton’s Facebook group or newsletter. As someone who is an avid Morton fan, I have read all her novels and was familiar with the characters and loved the chance to reconnect to my favorites, but I think a totally new reader might be missing some of the context or character dynamics. That said, this is a great way for folks to get a little glimpse into some of the books they haven’t read to decide if they want to pick them up.

🩶💚 Short Stack Vol 3 ARC Review 💚🩶

Thank you so much to Lily Morton and Gay Romance Reviews for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Short Stack Vol 3 is a collection of short stories from the Lily Morton universe. The couples from these MM romances have all had their origin stories told, and this is the opportunity to check back in with them as their lives continue!

This was such a fun read!! I loved the updates on all my favorite characters from previous books and their latest adventures! Some of the stories were hilarious, some were sweet and romantic, and others were spicy! It was such a great variety of short stories!

Overall this was a five star read! I loved getting the opportunity to spend more time with so many characters that I adore!! This book does have a few spicy scenes in it, so overall two flames for spice!

If you’re a fan of Lily Morton’s books and want unique new views on her characters, with all the love, sass and banter, then absolutely pick this one up!

As someone who loves a good epilogue, I’m a massive fan of these short stack books, which are mostly all glimpses of life after the happy ever after for some of our favourite Lily Morton couples.
As a subscriber to her newsletter I have read most of these already, but as a book hoarder I love the chance to buy them in ebook form so I can re-read whenever I want.
We are always treated with a few extra stories as well, so it’s not just a recycle of old/existing stories. This volume is no different - we finally learn about the famous school trip that Gabe was volunteered into chaperoning, as well as getting to experience Henry on his first ever camping trip, and fans of Merry Measure will love seeing some of the famous Amsterdam trip from Bee’s point of view. It doesn’t matter who your favourite couple is, there will be something here for you to enjoy.
I will always want to read more of anything Lily Morton writes, so to get all these extra scenes of multiple couples is just perfect for me - and “Old Acquaintances” where Jude & Asa run into Mal will always be a personal favourite.

- short story collection

This is a collection of short stories catching up with Lily's characters from her various books after their story is told. Some I had read either as part of a newsletter, or from her group and some were new to me.

I do love the Short Stack books, I love seeing some of my favourite characters after their main story is told and seeing what they're up to after getting their HEA. My favourite of course was Mags and Laurie from Beautifully Unexpected and they get a new story in this book, and it's just perfect. It's so utterly Mags and Laurie, making me laugh and cry in equal measure and I loved it. I loved meeting Mags' family, they're as utterly bonkers as I thought they'd be.

The other stories are great too, I loved seeing Amsterdam from Bee's POV - set during the events of Merry Measure and I loved seeing it through his eyes. Henry and Ivo camping was ridiculous, hilarious and so perfectly Henry too.

I loved this whole thing, strictly for those who have read Lily's other books, you won't regret catching up with your favourite characters. I loved it.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This is a delightful collection of Lily's short stories. Even if you are unfamiliar with the characters, you will be charmed at their teasing and witty interchanges in a couple of short ones with Gabe and Dylan. A return from a vacation with a school chaperoning, a few Christmas celebrations, an ice skating adventure will make you smile. Jude and Asa take a vacation. Henry and Ivo, Silas and Oz, Freddie and Darcey, each of their stories draw you in. It's wonderful to catch up with favorites Joe and Lachlan, Jed and Artie, Mags and Laurie. My favs are the proposals for Stan and Raff and Bee and Tom. I enjoyed returning to these couples happy memories and sharing their good times. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

This book is a constant hit of endorphins. Meeting your very favourite friends for a little catch-up and a hug. Lily Morton writes some of my favourite characters ever, and there are none that I don’t like, so getting these little snippets into their lives is magical.

Full of humour and love, our men are doing just fine. Still causing chaos and delivering snark in the best of ways.

If you’ve read Lily’s work, then don’t miss out on these short stories.

Want an absolute joy to read!

It was so much fun catching up with the wonderful characters from the imagination of Lily Morton. Each of these short stories brought back happy memories of the books they related to and also created new memories for me as I laughed at the antics of the couples. From Gabe and Dylan to Mags and Laurie ten couples get to entertain us whether it’s from previously published newsletter stories to brand new ones - think Henry having a camping experience! I laughed so hard much and sighed at the love that all these men have for their partners. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing way to catch up with some favourite friends.

If you’re at all familiar with Lily Morton’s work then you’re going to know this is absolutely a must-have - right along with Volumes 1&2. Morton is a master of building character and weaving storyline so that even a traditional trope can’t be put down. In a time where I’ve needed a some easier, quick reads, these stories are everything. They’re shorter but since I know all the characters it’s easy to jump in and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. One of the things I like most about these is that they cover stories from a books in a variety of series. It’s like setting in with an old friend - soothing to the soul.

I simply adore Lily Morton’s characters. I also love how she gives us these glimpses into their happily ever afters, little slices of life, if you will. As much as I love all of these characters, my favorites will always be Oz and Silas. 🥰 I loved that one so much. Although Darcy and Freddie and Mags and Laurie will always be special too. There are so many good shorts here, there is no way to mention everything. Suffice to say, if you love this author’s characters, you need to check this little collection out.

Short Stack 3 by Lily Morton is the third collection of stories about Morton’s most beloved and notorious characters. Being able to revisit these men living their best and loved filled lives brings me so much happiness. Experiencing their lives after the main stories and also popping up in other shorts made me smile and laugh out loud a few times. I would 100% recommend this collection to any lover of Lily Morton.

Another great collection of After the HEA stories

I love these Short Stack books. It is like visiting old friends. And it feeds my belief that all of these characters I enjoyed so much are out there continuing to live on in the world after I’ve finished the last page of the book.

A lot of the fun in this collection are the numerous Easter Eggs and cameos from other characters. I love the intertwining of those who populate the Lilyverse. And now I can wait impatiently for whatever new couple will join this wonderful bunch of characters.

I love that this exists! I can't say how many times I finish a story and long for more with the happy couples I end up falling in love with. I wish every author had a book of short stories and/or scenes for the couples in their books; to give us a taste of just a little bit more even though their stories are done. We go back to eleven couples in this book. I also like that there's a short explanation of where each story is from if it was already released, or new to this book, and where each story stakes place in relation to the series their from. 4 stars.

I’m sure Lily fans will highly enjoy this compilation. I’ve been a long time reader of almost all books written by Lily Morton and have enjoyed many short stories but primarily the stories that continue where the main hook left off so we see the HEA.. perhaps the proposal or the wedding. With this short stack, I found nice moments, a few humorous moments, and of course ongoing love but it lacked substance for me…. Could me because I’ve read most before. Nice compilation though with snippets showing the life and love for many of her favorite men.

If you love Lily Morton's books and characters, Short Stack 3 is a second chance to spend time with couples, to see an "outtake," to find out "what happened after," or just to enjoy Morton's clever dialog, snark, and spice. There are so many good books and characters to revisit, so plan on some reads and rereads of her full-length novels, and then enjoy the extras that make up this terrific collection.

Some of these I had read before as a newsletter subscriber and loved already, and others were brand new to me and I fell in love. I always adore when Lily offers a look into our beloved characters lives beyond the happy end of the book. Seeing them years later, doing regular couple things helps keep them alive in our hearts. The only way I would have loved Short Stack 3 more is if we had a story for Wren and Teo.

I just adore the way Lily writes her characters. They feel so alive! And the snark is magnificent *happy sigh*

I like reading these short stacks to get updates on some fave characters. Jude and Asa, Gabe and Dylan, and Barnaby and Cosmo were the highlights for me. And I even got few rows of reading on my absolute faves - Dean and Mal.

So sweet, cute, and fun!
