(4.5/5) So this book was a total surprise! I picked it up on a whim after running into the author (virtually) on Twitter and honestly didn't really know what to expect going in. This is a smart, action-filled thriller with strong women that pulls NO punches on the harsh world they live and work in, but at the same time, doesn't delve into the graphic. The character-building of the two main leads was intensive, but there are still questions left to be answered in book 2. I do wish their relationships with the side characters had been developed just a little more, and I have to say I was a little surprised that there wasn't even a hint of romance, but other than that, this book totally delivers. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys espionage thrillers and kickass female leads.

This book was exciting, fierce, fun, daring, suspenseful, thrilling, adventurous, and dare I say bada**?!

I love books with strong female characters and this book is full of them!! So, there was no doubt I wasn’t going to enjoy this book!!

I totally loved the two main characters, Lacey and Miss Belle. Although quite opposites at times they both bring their unique, personal history and baggage to the story. Miss Belle was sassy, bold, driven, and passionate. Lacey was tough and could definitely hold her own, but she came from a hard and troubled past that left deep scars inside and out. I honestly couldn’t help but feel for Lacey and her prior troubles. She was clearly the one I connected with the most and was able to relate to throughout the story.

I really enjoyed that the author created flawed and damaged characters that really showcased her writing style and ability to push her characters to reach their full potential over their arc. This is especially so with Lacey, as her character had such significant growth, development, and improvement over the course of the book. Lacey’s journey was beautifully told throughout the book and I was truly impressed with the author’s skill and unique perspective of facilitating such a dramatic and effective story line mechanism.

A strong character development journey to root for and enjoy watching it unfold!

I was very intrigued by the story line and found the concept to be wildly creative and innovative!! I really found myself quite curious and intrigued and couldn’t wait to read this book – and it did not disappoint!!

The missions were exciting and kept this reader on the edge of her seat!! There were so many suspenseful moments that I wasn’t quite sure how they were going to pan out and there were many close calls, but these ladies are very skilled and not ones to mess with!! I definitely enjoyed the excitement and heart pounding scenes!!

I really enjoyed the in-depth amount of research the author did while constructing this book that is clearly evident and shown throughout the story.

I appreciate the author shining a light on PTSD/PTS and how it can affect not only the person suffering, but also those around them, like their loved ones. PTSD/PTS is real, it is scary, there is no cure, only treatment. But there are so many treatment options and so many professionals out there wanting to help. I am curious to see how this will continue to affect Miss Belle and what options she will seek out.

I also really liked that the author used real places in her book. I love when author’s do this because it makes the story feel more real, authentic, and genuine. I keep a list of places from books I’ve read that if one day I end up there I would so love to visit so if I ever end up in Tokyo – perhaps RyuGin – assuming I can make the waitlist lol or the Kabuki-za Theatre; even Bills sounded nice!!

This book has a creative story line that evenly flows, superb writing style with meticulously well-described scenes, strongly-developed characters, is steady paced, and completely keeps you fully entertained!!

This book does end with some unresolved situations and leaves you with a few unanswered questions. However, there seems to be intention for a book two which most likely will address those points.

There are some predictable scenes. However, there are still a few very unexpected twists and turns that you won’t see coming!

This book is Book One of Miss Belle’s Travel Guides Book Series. It can be read as a standalone. Although not officially stated, there are significant implications that there will be a second book, being released in the near future - **fingers crossed** LOL!!

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it! I think all suspense readers and thriller fans will like this book too! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading – you won’t be disappointed!

What a great start to a new series! Told in alternating fist person POVs (Miss Belle and Lacey), this is an exciting introduction to Miss Belle’s Travel Guides and their undercover missions.

The premise of the story is intriguing. Miss Belle and her partner own an exclusive escort service (as a cover for her girls traveling, she writes travel guides), and the escort service serves as a front for their real job.

In this first book we learn some things about Lacey and Belle’s backgrounds and the way the business works. There are other women that I hope will be featured in future books. The characters are all three dimensional, and I love the fact that the book also deals with serious subjects in addition to being fun.

The descriptions are wonderful… I felt like I was actually there (and I would love to have Lacey’s wardrobe.. just saying). There is non-stop, page turning action that had me stay up way too late finishing the book. I could absolutely see this as a TV series!

This series is definitely going on my auto-buy list.

I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly wish I could write action scenes half as well as C.H. Lyn does.

The cover is perfect for this book. You see a shapely woman from behind in a slinky red dress looking out over Tokyo, holding a very hefty gun behind her back. (It reminds me of the old television show, Alias, about a female CIA agent, or rather double agent.)

In this book, Lacey Devaine is a four-year veteran of a spy ring which fronts as an exclusive escort service, Miss Belle’s Travel Guides. Lacey was once a prostitute but now she works for Miss Belle, saving other women and people in general from human trafficking when possible.

The Tokyo assignment is particularly tough because the man who requested her was once one of her clients. She feels a certain obligation, though she won’t admit it, because she believes he is the one who called Miss Belle and got her out of her deadly situation. It’s also a very important assignment as the powerful men she is pitted against hold the fate of a whole village in their hands.

Because it is such a difficult story to tell, the author was careful not to go over the edge. C.H. Lyn said in an interview that because there are women getting paid for sex, there are no sex scenes. There is no direct abuse shown, but there are the aftereffects that the women have to deal with.
In a lot of ways, it’s a sad story, but it’s hopeful too because the oppressed are given power to take control of the situation.

The story goes back and forth between Lacey and Miss Belle as they deal with the situations they are in. it’s so hard to write a review for an action based story like this because I don’t want to give too much away.

I was very impressed with the cultural and setting details in Tokyo. I was equally impressed with the relationships and characters that were built. I felt immersed in a story about real people. The action scenes are tightly plotted with good tension and great details as well.

Bravo! Definitely a 5 star book.

Lacey Goes to Tokyo by C.H. Lyn
Miss Belle’s Travel Guides #1

Compelling, chilling, captivating story about women that have taken control of their lives and work to make their and the lives of others safer and better. This book grabbed me in the beginning and kept my interest till the very end. It made me think and feel and care as it presented a story that wasn’t always easy to read but could not be put down. I can see this series doing well and can’t wait for the second book to come out.

What I liked:
* Belle: Talk about true grit! This woman is amazing in more ways than one...smart, strong, skilled and so much more than what others thinks she is. I want to know more about Missa – her friend and partner
* Lacey: Dedicated to Belle, her sister and the job she does even though it will take a toll in this story
* The story – so very well told! It reminded me a bit of Charlie’s Angels and more adult Powerpuff Girls but the adult version and yet it was unlike any book I have read before.
* Thomas: Everyone should have such a strong capable friend to call on
* That the writing appealed to all my senses and I felt I was there as the story unfolded
* Knowing that there are plenty of characters working for Misss Belle to warrant stories of their own
* So many things…

What I did not like:
* The people in the story that lacked the ability to see the true value of people – they exist and this story reminded me of the evil they do
* Reading the last page and knowing it will be awhile before I can read more about Miss Belle’s Travel Guides

Did I enjoy this book? Definitely!
Would I read more in this series/by this author? Without a doubt!

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Lacey Goes to Tokyo: Miss Belle's Travel Guides was an unexpected delight, and I hope it is just the beginning of a new series!

This is a contemporary novel with a lot going on. The premise here is that Miss Belle, aka Ana, is a madam for the elite. She, and her best friend, Marissa (Missa) run the business together. They, along with their girls and boys, live together in the Manor where they are a family. The outside world believes them to be travel writers, except maybe the police who have their suspicions and are keen to arrest Ana, if only they could find proof.

The truth is that they are so much more! While the agency provides escorts upon request, these women are often traveling undercover on assignment, collecting vital information. In this book, Lacey heads to Tokyo where she will be seen on the arm of Nathan Blake, a CFO with an automotive manufacturer. While she meets all his needs, she has a mission to locate evidence of their misdeeds. And if that wasn't hard enough, a misguided reporter shows up and threatens her cover.

Lacey shares what she learns which leads to Miss Belle jumping on the first flight to East Asia. If she can't get there in time, or if she doesn't succeed in her mission, many will die.

This book is filled with strong female characters who show vulnerability while still being able to handle themselves. The book is filled with action, adventure and nerve-wracking excitement. I loved how Lyn revealed her characters, peeling back layers to show their back stories, and what motivates them. They are tough and passionate, determined and dedicated.

I eagerly await another Miss Belle book to follow along on a new adventure, and meet more of the amazing women (and men) at the Manor.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Once I got past some confusion in the first couple chapters on whether or not the secondary character(s)--Marissa and Missa were the same person, I quite enjoyed this book. I liked that the story included strong lead female characters who kicked ass and the style of writing that easily allowed me to be a spectator to captivating action scenes and sisterhood throughout the book. Miss Belle's travel tips perfectly reflected things to keep in mind in the real world when traveling as well as reflected the struggles the characters faced in the story.

I can easily see, and am excited for, more stories about the adventures of Miss Belle's girls.

✨Lacey Goes to Tokyo Review✨

I loved this read! It was everything I needed this Summer!

This book has dual POV which is my favorite. You can really dive into this world and all the action.

This story focuses on Lacey who is part of Miss Belles organization, one of her girls in her “escort” service. Lacey gets sent to Tokyo to spy for Miss Belle, since she has a connection with their latest mark. She is a strong FMC recovering from her own trauma. It was truly beautiful to watch her heal and regain her strength. She is a baddie on a mission. You will have to read and find out. 😉

Miss Belle is an amazing character. She takes in women who have suffered trauma and helps them. She gives them their power back. I admire her for giving them the tools to save themselves. What’s not to love about that? Miss Belle is highly trained in combat and boy do you get to see her throw down. I wouldn’t test her. Lol

One aspect I really enjoyed is the travel advice between chapters! It was fun and paired well with the upcoming chapter. Cheyenne drew me in from the beginning. Her representation of characters is on point. The way she talked about trauma was perfection. If you love someone who can write clear descriptions where you can see, hear and taste everything, Cheyenne is amazing at it. Not only that but her fight scenes were incredibly written. I can’t wait to read more of Miss Belles travel guides.

*If you love Charlie’s Angels, espionage, and great representation of trauma then go read this book.

What to expect:
✨baddy MC’s
✨thriller
✨espionage
✨trauma healing
✨found family
✨vacation advice we all need
✨proper representation of characters
*heed trigger warnings

Quotes:

Lacey Devaine works for an escort service in New York that is also a spy network hired by powerful political and corporate people. Miss Ana Belle’s girls are well trained and prepared to do whatever it takes to steal intel that could correct wrongdoing and help save the lives of innocent people.

Lacey’s assignment is to go to Toyko to learn what she can about a U.S. company’s secret slave labour operation in Asia. This requires her to reunite with a client she knew four years ago during a tough period in her life. The reunion resurrects a mix of emotions and memories. Adding to the plot is conflict in Ana’s family life and the constant surveillance by police officers who are convinced she’s up to no good.

The author creates fully rounded characters and plenty of suspense. Told from both Lacey’s and Ana’s point of view, the story moves at a quick pace and is the first in what I hope will be a long and successful series. Note: I categorized this book under the closest two categories that Goodreads has, but for me it was primarily an action-adventure story, which Goodreads doesn't have.

In a world where secrets can keep you alive or get you killed the reader will meet Miss Belle and Lacey whose intertwined stories play out to solve problems and right the wrongs. Not everything is what it seems in the world of Miss Belle. While her family and the outside world believe she is a travel writer, she acts more like a vigilante with guns blazing and flash weapons which play in the mind like that of a Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downery Jr. Lacey, an associate of Miss Belle's, has to sexy and stealthy. She is trained to fight but finds herself playing a mental game of chess while dressing glamorously and playing a "character" that is counterintuitive to her natural self. This is a book unlike any other in the sense that it is a glamourous humanitarian action book. The author leaves you with many questions that play into the series. I look forward to reading Miss Belle's Travel Guides, #2.

This second novel by C H Lynn did not disappoint. A world away from her debut novel but still a great, fun read.

I was a bit unsure what to expect going into this book but I really enjoyed it. The concept is a fun one - the whole idea of a travel company masking as a front for another business with a more important but deadly goal.

The dual pov helped us to get to know the main characters and the addition of some great side characters really added to the story.

This book was a great portrayal of strong women taking on the bad men and winning.

It was an easy read with great writing, full of intrigue and a plot to keep you guessing.

I would have liked to see more of the back story for the main characters shared in the book - it was their main motivation for the work they do and although the gist of it is included in the book, I think having this explored further would have added more depth to the characters.

Definitely an enjoyable read with a fun concept and good writing.

Readers will keep turning pages to see what happens next to Miss Belle and her ladies, but it’s not all action. The story digs into relationships and the rough pasts these badass women have to overcome and the challenges they face post-assignment. Readers experience each tense, tender, or painful moment right along with the main characters since the story is told in first person, my favorite. The author tells the story from two points of view—Belle, the madam and co-lead badass, and Lacey—a complex young woman still trying to find herself. Multi-POV typically isn’t my favorite, but she does a great job of creating two unique characters and bridging the change in perspective so it’s clear who’s speaking.

Lacey goes to Tokyo wasn’t what I expected—in a good way. It’s is low on sex and high on action and page-turning suspense, exactly the type of novel I enjoy. It took me to Tokyo and the Laos-Thailand border, colorful locations I’ve never seen. As readers, the author shows us crime, poverty, and corruption that tourists typically don’t see. Miss Belle’s colorful travel tips are my favorite. I have to confess, I’m a little envious of Belle’s ladies’ wardrobes. I recommend Lacey Goes to Tokyo to anyone ready for a thrilling escape from daily life. I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

this book is a super fun and interesting read about intelligent and deadly women who write books and blog posts, but there is something darker under the service.

💜the storyline features Miss Belle and her business she runs, which mainly focuses on Lacey, a four-year veteran with the agency, who is sent to Tokyo to post as an escort while completing an undercover mission.

💜my favorite thing about this book was witnessing Lacey’s pov while my least favorite thing was the slowness of the actual storyline development (i usually like a slow-burn, but this book had me a little confused for a good chunk of it while learning the groundwork of the storyline)

💜all that to say, i enjoyed this read overall and found it to be something i wouldn’t normally pick! i love stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to reading and im glad I did with this one.

Miss Belle runs an escort service, but, secretly, the girls do much more. But they’re not just girls; they’re women—strong, beautiful, smart, independent women. One of the girls is Lacey, a mousy bookworm set to fly to Tokyo on a mission.

The whole thing had a slow start as Miss Belle explains in ambiguous terms the house and the girls that live in it. As Lacey boards a flight and heads to Tokyo, things are still not as clear, but the narrative clearly lays the groundwork on a spy theme.

Lacey is very stealth, organized, and methodical. Told in 1st person POV (Lacey’s view,) story combines the travel guide of Tokyo sites and the ingenuity of a covert mission (which they’re very cagey about.) Lacey relays the day-to-day of the trip and the job in a diary format. The whole thing was well-written, but a quicker pace would’ve made it more exciting. At first, it seems to concentrate more on Lacey’s personal journey and past, but, as you get more into it, the top secret mission slowly unravels.

I get that the story was trying be mysterious, but I kind of wish it would’ve been more direct rather than use a bunch of euphemisms and speculations. Why couldn’t Lacey or Miss Belle just say what they did? Why couldn’t either one of them say what the mission was? I think I really needed that info early on.

I’m all for girl power, which this book seems to exude. I like stories that paint women out as intelligent and strong, and it may even persuade me to read the next book in the series. I just hope that it’s a little clearer and less complex.

“Lacey Goes to Tokyo” by C.H. Lyn features a unique escort service that is run by two determined women, Miss Belle and Marissa, who use their staff to pull off unexpected and lifechanging tasks. Assigning their seasoned operative, Lacey, to an assignment that forces her to confront painful aspects of her past may prove fatal to not only her, but to the whole organization.

This suspense thriller is part of the ‘Miss Belle’s Travel Guides” series and has surprising twists and turns even as it provides a roller-coaster ride of tension and excitement. Told in alternating points of view, the action shifts from country to country as the stakes get higher and higher. Those who are squeamish or have triggers should be advised that there is a fair amount of violence as well as allusions to sexual abuse and exploitation.

Although I frequently winced at the horrific situations some of these folks endured, I was enthralled by the kick-ass heroines and their ability to accomplish seemingly impossible feats. There are a lot of dangling threads that make me think there must be other stories in this series (to come?). I love the little tips that comprise the “travel guide” (e.g. having your house sitter find your ammo cache probably won’t end well) and the elements that evoke James Bond and his gadgets and I look forward to reading more stories about these frighteningly capable women.

It took me a bit to get into this story as I found it very heavy with lots of extra details. Once things got moving a bit, the story became more intriguing. The concept was very interesting - call girls who were actually working to improve the world somewhat. These women were strong, independent, kind and knew how to kick butt. It turned into a fun but hold-your-breath story. This should be an interesting series.

I received a copy of this story through Goddess Fish Promotions, and this was my unsolicited review.

This was fun and very suspenseful. The setting of covert missions being run by a business of escort services might sound insulting to women. However, this is written to show the intelligence and strength of women. Very refreshing, all tied up in a story of adventure, humor, and action.
This was one of those “can’t put it down” type of books. I enjoyed every moment and most certainly hope there will be a Book 2 in the near future.

I enjoyed Lacey Goes to Tokyo very much!

The story's about Lacey, a strong female character recovering from trauma, who is part of Miss Belle's unique "escort" service.

Lacey's journey takes her to Tokyo on a mission to spy for Miss Belle, thanks to her personal connection with their latest target. A lot happens, which I'm obviously not going to spoil, so I recommend picking it up and finding it out for yourself.

I loved both Lacey and Miss Belle, and I liked that they both got their own pov chapters. It took me a while to finish the book, but that had more to do with a lack of time than anything else. From the very first chapter, I wanted to keep reading and was curious to find out what would happen next.

Many thanks to C.H. Lyn for a copy in exchange for an honest review!🫶

This review is also featured on Behind the Pages: Lacey Goes to Tokyo

Thank you to Bound By Mischief for providing me with a copy of this book! I voluntarily leave this review!

Miss Belle’s escort service is highly prized. Trained to be the best, her employees know exactly how to entertain their clients. And how to find useful information as well. When Lacey flies to Tokyo, it isn’t just to entertain a CFO, it’s also to find out company secrets. Ones putting lives in danger. But when an unexpected guest throws her carefully laid plans out the window, Lacey finds herself having to plan a rescue mission. Expediting information to Miss Belle, she must trust her to save hundreds of lives.

To the outside world, it appears as though Miss Belle runs a top-class escort service. And while those who work for her may be escorts, they are highly trained in espionage as well. Each and every one of Miss Belle’s employees are well cared for and given a choice in their jobs. Miss Belle is a hard-working woman. She does everything she can to give those in her care a better life. But readers will also see the toll Miss Belle’s job takes. She must be careful in all her interactions, to protect not only the business but everyone involved as well. This causes quite the tension among her personal connections outside the business.

C.H. Lynn is an expert at details. They give just enough information to let readers know the situations Miss Belle and Lacey run into. And despite the subject area, the spice level is low allowing readers who want to read a little bit of risque content at a happy level. Not to mention the cliffhanger chapters! Lacey and Miss Belle will be poised at the edge of danger, but readers will be moved back and forth between the two characters' viewpoints. Readers will be eagerly tearing through the pages wanting to know what happens next.

Lacey Goes to Tokyo is a fantastic start to the Miss Belle’s Travel Guide series. Both Miss Belle and Lacey are powerful and determined women. With such fierce independence and a drive to help others, I can’t wait to be introduced to more of Miss Belle’s operatives. Not to mention the snippets of travel guide-esque descriptions, placing readers right into the heart of their destinations. Readers who enjoy action packed and high tension stories should give this one a try.

Lacey Goes to Tokyo was such a fun book, I am so glad I got the chance to read this! First off, thank you so much to the author Cheyenne who sent me this copy a few months ago. I adore you and cherish our friendship- thank goodness for bookstagram and book friends!

Two books into Cheyenne’s writing and I am
100% sold on anything she writes. I beg you, please check out her work! She’s fantastic.

And now the book! This was outside of my usual genres I’ve been reading lately but I’m so glad I jumped into this story because it’s so brilliantly done. A group of women posing as travel guides, but are actually escorts… escorts who are actually international spies? Yes, please?? It was all so well-written and I would absolutely love to see this in tv or movie format one day. It’s that good!

Miss Belle is such a wonderfully intriguing and complex character. We get glimpses into her past but I’m still left wanting to know SO much more about her! I loved her tenacity, fierceness and protectiveness over her girls. She is a great character and I can’t wait to learn more about her in future books.

This book focused on one of Miss Belle’s “girls”, Lacey. She’s on a mission in Tokyo posing as an escort to the CFO of a major American corporation, and her real job is to uncover evidence of illegal activity (you’ll find out pretty early on). This story kept me interested the entire way through and I was dying to know what would happen next, whether it was from Lacey’s pov or Miss Belle’s. Lacey is thrown into danger and intrigue as she fights to keep her cover and Miss Belle’s reputation under control. At the same time, she is battling deep trauma from her past, and Cheyenne handled all of this so beautifully. These are not only badass and empowering female characters, but they’re emotional and some are still healing… the mental health rep here was very well done.

Read if you like action-packed spy thrillers with found family and Charlie’s Angels vibes! Please check all trigger warnings which can be found through the author and are also listed at the beginning of the book.

Lacey Devaine belongs to a spy ring operating under the guise of an elite escort service. While in Tokyo with Ned, an ex whom Lacey is trying to adjust being with again, a newspaper reporter pushes his nose where it shouldn’t be and exposes a slave trade ring operating in Asia. The exposure means Lacey is in full swing action and gets information pivotal to ending the illegal operation but also threatening to cause death to an entire village of Hmong citizens living in Laos.

Lacey and other women under the leadership of Miss Belle are women of style. They dress to the hilt, are sexy as all get-out and have an upper-class reputation as well as generally being present where there’s trouble. The cost to the ladies is high and very often they are in need of psychological counseling because of the high risks they run, often life or death situations. But they’re also cool and suave no matter how fierce the pressure gets. As a result they earn the respect and assistance of other men when they most need it. And wow do they need it in the plot of this novel!

Products are designed to make plenty of money for mob-like characters and these men (or animals depending on your point of view) don’t think twice about the loss of lives during their transactions. But Lacy enlists the aid of another dear friend who has seen this scenario long ago in Africa and uses his military skills to help Lacey end this horrific scene which threatens an entire village. Thai police and other professional detectives are involved and only Lacey can manipulate all the options so that there is no further punishment falling on these poor people or anyone else for that matter.

Guts are a huge component in Lacey and Miss Belle’s ladies but also a profound sense of integrity sorely lacking for most of the characters in this story. That ensures the success of Miss Belle’s ladies now and in other similar in this notable and highly recommended series!

Beautifully crafted C. H. Lyn! Keep these novels coming!

Well, I must say the summary I read of this book simply didn’t do it justice! The employees of Miss Belle’s Travel Guides are so much more than what is led to believe! And you better believe THEIR International Travel means International Danger - with a CAPITAL “D”.

Lacey Devaine is a four-year veteran of a spy ring which fronts as an exclusive escort service, Miss Belle's Travel Guides. Maintaining her cover is Lacey's number one priority to protect the integrity of the service she works for. - And don’t think for a minute that you are going to be able to discover just who is backing this endeavor!

Miss Belle is the ‘glue’ who holds the organization together along with a few others who complete this sisterhood of ‘hell on wheels’ when endeavoring to right the wrongs of crooks, and greedy monsters!

While on assignment in Tokyo, a nosy newspaper reporter is just about to blow the lid off a scandal that will put dozens of innocent lives at risk, especially Lacey. In order to protect Lacey’s cover, Miss Belle is called in to act on intelligence Lacey had uncovered to save hundreds of lives at enormous risk to Belle’s own! This is when you can see ‘girl-power’ at it’s finest - with a little bit of help from a couple of friends.

What I found to be great about the whole premise of this book and series is that there are so many paths this whole series could and possibly will take. There is the giant mystery of who is providing the funding coupled with the bigger mystery of what set Miss Belle on this dangerous path. How did she get so bad-ass and trained so well coming from what has so far appeared to be a normal family? A family who has no idea what she really does for a living other than providing “travel advice”.

Frankly, I am more than intrigued with where this first book has led me and can’t wait to see what else happens along the way! So much to look forward to after such a peek inside of this luscious new series!

4.25 ⭐️

This was such a fun, action packed, suspenseful read!

This story is told in dual POV of the two main FMCs. Miss Belle, who owns a top notch escort service, which includes secret missions that no one besides her and the Ladies know about and Lacey, who is one of Miss Belle’s ladies on a mission in Tokyo and her character development throughout the story was great. These are badass, smart, experienced women that knows how to play the game. I loved that there is no romance in this book, simply women with their head in the game, calculating their next moves to save a village from being slaughtered and take down powerful men. I would have loved to see more interactions with some of the other ladies in the house but I am hoping that we will get to see more of that in the future. Also the location descriptions were amazing, painted such a good picture in my mind and the travel guide tips were great!

A great start to a series for sure and one that I will continue to follow to see what’s in store for Miss Belle’s Ladies, definitely recommend!

Miss Belle's Travel Guides are the only ones you'll need when you travel.

This book was wonderfully paced, with no scene or moment without its purpose. The author didn't feel the need to fall back onto silly cliches or have Miss Belle or any of her girls be a damsel in distress. There were plenty of ways things could have gone very wrong for our heroes, and those situations were handled excellently. The characters developed beautifully inside a time-sensitive plot, and due to the number of girls Miss Belle takes care of, I'm sure there are plenty more travel guides to come. Don't miss a single one.

'Lacey Goes to Tokyo' is absolutely awesome sauce! Lacey and Miss Belle (and all of her girls) can be summed up in one word - strength. They have each overcome their own personal hells in order to be where they are now - stronger, better, and unstoppable. They kick bootie and protect those who need it. From page 1, this story is fast-paced and high-spirited. I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time. The characters are multi-faceted and I can't wait to learn more about them in later books! This is book 1 of 'Miss Belle's Travel Guides.'

This book was a fun read with an interesting action-packed plot and strong female characters.

Summary:
Miss Belle is frustrated by the constant surveillance from cops; one of her girls, Lacey, is on a difficult mission; at the same time, her brother is not talking to her, and she has to convince one of her people to take up a different mission, all while maintaining her cover and keeping everyone safe.
Lacey is on her way to Tokyo to meet with her client, Nathan. Everything is in place; she has to pose as an escort and gather useful information regarding her client's work. When a reporter's mistake jeopardizes the mission, both Lacey and Miss Belle must undertake damage control and preserve innocent lives while maintaining their cover.

Plot and writing: This is the first book in the series. Written in first person from Miss Belle's and Lacey's POVs, the plot tells a very engaging and engrossing story. It starts a bit slow but picks up the pace as the book progresses. The action scenes are well-written, and I loved the traveling tidbits at the beginning of each chapter.

There were a few perplexing components in the writing, such as: are Marissa and Missa distinct individuals, or how are the characters accomplishing this? I am all for strong characters, but I would have loved the details on how they are able to perform certain tasks without getting caught and causing any consequences, rather than just believing in them. In general, I thought a number of the scenes could have been more descriptive.

Characters: The plot primarily focuses on Miss Belle and Lacey. I loved Lacey's part a lot; I loved her back story except for the way it was revealed. I feel I would have connected with Lacey more if I knew a bit more about her and her past in the beginning. I was not able to connect with Miss Belle; instead, I loved Delilah a lot. I could see her motivations and her fighting spirit to make something better for herself.

Recommendation: If anyone is looking for a book set in the real world with a fascinating plot, action/fight sequences, and strong women, and you're willing to ignore some unclear sections, I definitely recommend this book.
