The Omega's Bookstore

Rate this book
They broke her. They hunted her. But she’s done running—and now she has a Pack who would burn the world for her.

Ivy spent years hiding what she truly was—an unclaimed Omega pretending to be a Beta, running a quiet little bookstore and helping others heal while never quite healing herself. But when four dangerously powerful Alphas walk into her life, everything changes.

Lucian. Rafe. Theo. Elias. Each of them deadly. Each of them haunted. Each of them hers.

Dragged into a brutal world of secret labs, Omega trafficking rings, and a past she doesn’t fully remember, Ivy must hide and survive... or fight and reclaim everything they tried to steal.

Because this Omega isn’t weak.
She’s fire wrapped in softness.
And with her Alphas by her side, she’s ready to burn it all down.

Dark, emotional, and unapologetically fierce, The Omega’s Bookstore is a full-length Omegaverse romance with mafia elements, found family, biting, bonding, soft moments, steamy heat, and a heroine who refuses to be caged again.

The timeline for this book jumps around (the book says a character has been somewhere for weeks but it has only been 1 day), there are notes in this that read as if it is a draft (e.g “cliffhanger: I slip away” followed immediately by another chapter). The fact that the book cover and the authors picture are both AI generated makes me think that this book was also created by AI.

Ok. I want to start out by saying that I really liked this 📖book. It should be rated higher. Generally, the writing is very good, the story is interesting and the characters are well developed, however it badly needs better editing. I know this review likely needs better editing, but this is just me, with barely anyone reading it, but if I was wanting the world to know my work, I would edit the heck out of it. Normally, if I’m grouchy about a lack of editing. It is because there are grammar or spelling mistakes. There’s only a tiny bit of that here, towards the end where things got lazy. The main problem with this story is flow. The timeline doesn’t flow properly and it is so distracting. For example: there is going to be a meeting later that night, then they say it is the next day, then it happens later that night. Or, something happens on a Friday, but then they are referencing something happening in three days and three days from then being Thursday. So hard to track. Just get someone to read your script. It annoys me so much. If you’re re self publishing, do it properly. Otherwise good, except the sex is pretty boring. Loved the story, but the execution could be better.

Get comfortable with your favorite bottle of wine and of course snacks because you won’t put this one down until the last page has been turned. Ivy running her bookstore has been hiding as a beta while helping others, she has always been a little spicier than most, strong, determined to keep herself safe but to live her way so avoiding alphas with horror stories she has heard has been her way and it has worked so far until the four alphas. Lucian, Theo, Rafe, and Elias sexy as all get alphas meet the spicy beta who owns the bookstore from the moment they meet her something about her calls to them knowing they need to protect their little one they could feel she wasn’t a beta especially after spending time with her and they are more determined to keep her safe. But when she is kidnapped by breeders will her alphas come for her, will she fight like the beta she believes she is despite being an omega saving herself, and will she find happiness with protection to run her bookstore?

The book started off strong. The world world building and characters were well developed. However, the story was very repetitive. The plot was drawn out with plot holes. A lot of things didn't add up. It was almost as if the author forgot what they wrote in previous chapters. Definitely needed an editor.

Maffia like reversed harem effect. 4 alphas with an unclaimed omega. I liked the story, it flowed very well, and i love how everything came together. A very enjoyable book for sure.

This was only my second or third omegaverse book. I enjoyed it, however the plot was a little all over the place and the last quarter of the book felt too long and repetitive for me. Also, at almost 500 pages I feel like it could have been at least 100 pages shorter. I did enjoy the FMCs relationship with the four alphas. I also loved how she is such a badass!!

Omegas bookstore

This book needs a complete re work with a continuity editor. There are so many plot holes it's hard to keep up. Then there are bizarre notations referring to chapters in the book. e.g. Rafe told me that in Chapter 14. The plot is unbelievable and the tension is over the top. It has an over dramatic soap opera feel. SPOILERS: A 16 year old girl is found beaten in an alley with no memories of her life. (we never find out how that happens). She is found to be an omega, but gets false beta id and lives in various group homes until she magically gets enough money to buy a cozy bookstore when she is 19. She lives her pleasant beta life for several years until a group of alpha males come into her store. The alphas take her home to protect her from some unknown dangers. Things progress, angst ensues, her history is gradually revealed and she's kidnapped by a breeder group. All of a sudden she becomes a brave fighter who shoots villains accurately with a rifle in close quarters. It's never explained how she even knows how to read considering her childhood, or what makes her special. I honestly can't believe I finished it.

The last maybe third of this book is written like one of the drafts of the book. It reads like what would be seen in a draft where the author or editor went through the chapters and made notes but then didn’t go through again to correct or finish it.

I wanted to like this, as the premise was good. But the book was all over the place and seriously needed an editor.

It feels like someone wrote this and published it without re-reading it. The amount of plot holes was insane and the continuity was a complete mess.

It kinda felt like ai wrote it.

Ivy is one of those heroines who lingers long after the last page. On the surface, she’s a “spicy beta” running a cozy bookstore that doubles as the emotional center of her community. She hosts reading groups, watches kids, gives away what people need, and creates a safe haven for anyone who walks through her door. What no one sees is the truth: Ivy is an unclaimed Omega in hiding, and her bookstore is more than shelves and stories. It’s a lifeline. A stop on a secret railroad helping endangered Omegas escape trafficking. A place stocked with medical supplies, weapons, and a panic room—because Ivy learned a long time ago that safety is something you build for yourself.

Enter the Wolfe Syndicate.

Lucian, Theo, Rafe, and Elias aren’t just powerful Alphas—they’re men shaped by violence, loyalty, and ghosts of their own. From the moment they meet Ivy, something about her pulls at them. She doesn’t smell like a Beta. She doesn’t act like one either. She’s sharp, guarded, and utterly fearless in a way that makes them want to protect her… even when she’s stabbing Lucian for alpha-posturing in her shop and then calmly stitching him back together.

What really makes this story shine is how layered the relationships are. Theo’s quiet persistence, helping with reading groups and grounding Ivy during a panic attack. Rafe’s compassion and medical care, freely given to those who need it most. Elias working in the shadows to protect Ivy’s secrets. And Lucian—the Wolf himself—slowly realizing that the woman he’s been hunting for answers might be the backbone of an entire resistance.

The romance is intense but earned, the found family deeply satisfying, and the stakes feel real. When Ivy is taken by breeders and her past comes roaring back—revealing a childhood shaped by Omega labs, military-grade training, and survival at any cost—the question isn’t whether she’s strong enough. It’s whether the world is ready for what happens when she stops running.

This is a mafia-flavored, reverse harem Omegaverse where the Omega is anything but weak. Ivy is fire wrapped in kindness, softness sharpened into steel. Her Alphas don’t cage her—they stand with her, adore her, and are more than willing to burn everything down to keep her safe.

Emotional, dark, tender, and quietly revolutionary, The Omega’s Bookstore flows beautifully and brings every thread together in a way that feels both cathartic and powerful. If you love strong, feral-hearted Omegas, devoted Alphas, found family, and stories where healing and vengeance walk hand in hand—this one deserves a place on your shelf.

Anyone who's seen my reviews knows I love dark romance. I also love omegaverse and I adore when those two genres mix. This book was fantastic. I fell in love with the characters the plot line was the perfect mix of sweet and dark, Ivy is a beta bookstore owner... with a few secrets. She's the railroad lady an omega hiding who she is saving omegas from trafficking. Her bookstore has a hidden cache of weapons, panic room, medical supplies to treat a small army. Ivy has made herself invaluable to her community by being a safe space for everyone she holds reading groups for teens, storytime for kids, gives away free things. Looks after people's kids she's the heart of her community no to mention the railroad network she's made to get at risk omegas to safe places. So what about when the Wolfe syndicate walk in her door looking for information on the missing omegas. Ivy denies any knowledge she doesn't trust people so the syndicate decide to try a different plan. Theo, goes back for reading groups as a grad student needing to study out of school education he slowly wins over Ivy helps her during a panic attack where she reveals herself as a omegas, next time he brings rage a doctor who helps people for free at the clinic and engages with the kids about there books, both find out about ivys railroad when she calls them injured after a rescue needing desperate help, Elias helps hide the footage from Lucian "the wolf" Lucian knows his men are lying to him about the omega bookstore owner but why he insists on finding out and when he arrives and starts alpha posturing she stabs him, then heals him. As they talk Lucian realises how important it is what Ivy does. Over time they learn why Ivy has military grade training. Why she's so untrusting because she was born in a omega centre where they breed omega and train some from 4 years old to become weapons... so what happens when the past comes back and the centre wants Ivy...can her men save her or will she start a revolution

This is a must read for all omegaverse readers who love books with emotion, this has so many layers and I adored it.

I enjoyed this book... it didn't have the spice level I expected in a omegaverse/pack romance... but I still enjoyed it... but would consider it mild spice... there are no explicit scenes, no scenes of them all together. Not a bad thing, just stating facts.

There was a good amount of suspense... the majority of the book is about them protecting Ivy, who runs an amazing underground railroad operation... there are some neat plot twists about Ivy & her history... I don't want to give away spoilers, so I won't say more... read the book! It has good depth & is very interesting! I enjoyed the plot quite a bit & loved the characters.

The 4 men each have their own strengths & weaknesses & they all fit together & complement each other well, which is the great thing about a pack. It takes them a while to form a pack, even though the men start protecting Ivy from the beginning. I loved the twist with her Grandfather! That's special.

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

*mafia/Bratva
*dark/morally grey MMCs
*omegaverse
*MFMMM (as individual M/F romances, no MM, which I appreciate)
*reverse harem
*romantic suspense
*underground railroad for Omega trafficking
*found family
*bookstore/bookshop owner romance
*protective alphas

Thank you to the author (Jeanette Clarke), publisher & Booksprout for the ARC. all opinions are my own.

Needs an editor

I'm not sure if this was written using AI, but it gives off that kind if vibe. There are incomplete sentences, missing words, sentences that just dont make sense, plot errors, and so much more wrong with this book. I will point out that towards the 2nd half it does get marginally better, but not enough to actually save the book. There is so much repetition in this that I feel at least a third of the book could have been cut out if the author just got rid of all the repetitive parts.

The story itself had potential - an omega in hiding, running a book store while also trying to help abused people, finds her mates, gets pulled back to the people she ran from and then continues to shut down their operation with the help of her new loves. I feel the story had potential, but it just wasn't executed correctly. With the way it was written, I found myself having to push through the story to the end and when the end finally came I'm not gonna lie, I sighed with relief. I couldn't wait for this story to be over. Its needs some major editing and then it has the potential to be good, but until then.... skiiiiiip it!!!

Ivy isn’t just a character, you feel her. You feel the bruises she hides, the nights spent trembling in silence, the weight of being hunted and broken. She’s an unclaimed Omega pretending to be a Beta, running a quiet bookstore while carrying a past that claws at her from the shadows. And yet, in the midst of her pain, she cares. Deeply. Fiercely. She gives herself to her community, healing others even when she can barely heal herself.

Then the danger finds her, and Ivy rises. Every step she takes toward revenge is raw, painful, and beautiful. She’s not just fighting the people who hurt her; she’s fighting for her life, her freedom, and the ones she loves. Her fire is terrifying, her courage unshakable, and her heart... soft, stubborn, unbreakable.

Reading Ivy’s journey left me breathless, aching, and cheering. She’s unapologetically herself: fierce, vulnerable, and unstoppable. She isn’t just a heroine, you want to be her, fight beside her, and never let anyone dim her light.

The Omega's Bookstore by Jeanette Clarke is a beautifully written start to The Omega Series. It perfectly blends the warmth of a cozy bookstore setting with the intensity and emotional depth that omegaverse romance fans crave.

The omega protagonist is wonderfully relatable — strong yet vulnerable in a way that feels authentic rather than overdone. The protective dynamic builds naturally, and the chemistry between the characters is compelling from the start. I especially appreciated how the emotional tension was given space to develop, making the connection feel meaningful and earned.

The world-building is clear without being overwhelming, making it easy to immerse yourself in the setting. There’s a lovely balance between sweetness, longing, and passion that keeps the pages turning.

I would highly recommend this to readers who enjoy omegaverse romance with heart, protective instincts, and a cozy small-business backdrop. A fantastic beginning to what promises to be an addictive series!.

Ivy is feisty, strong-willed, and fiercely determined—but she’s also guarded and deeply wary of Alphas. Running her bookstore in a community where life is anything but easy, she’s become an essential and beloved part of the neighborhood. She survives by staying sharp and independent.

Lucian, Theo, Rafe, and Elias control the local syndicate with calculated violence and authority. Instead of dismissing Ivy or seeing her as expendable, they recognize her value and strength. That shift in perspective adds an interesting layer to their dynamic and the growing tension between them.

The romance is intense but feels earned, building gradually alongside high stakes and real danger. The found-family element is deeply satisfying, and the emotional core balances the darker themes of violence and fear with genuine hope and love. A gripping story that blends grit with heart.

What an absolutely delightful read! It offers a fresh perspective on the omegaverse world.

Ivy is an Omega hiding as a Beta while trying to help others. She is feisty, strong, and determined, but also closed off and wary, especially of Alphas. This changes when she meets Lucian, Theo, Rafe, and Elias, who run the local syndicate. Initially, they are unsure of what to make of Ivy, but as they get to know her better, their thoughts begin to reveal themselves. My favorite quote that captures this sentiment is:

"The kind who builds instead of destroys, who creates sanctuary in the middle of hell."

I loved how the story focuses on Ivy and her impact on those around her and the society she lives in. It's truly amazing.

This is a slow-burn, low-spice story, but it sells itself; it emphasizes substance over flash.

I will start by saying I love love the premise of this book. I am a sucker for an omegaverse where the omega is hiding their designation for a reason. Ivy has a good reason for hiding her designation from those around her. I love the portrayal of her bookstore being the center of this lovely diverse community and her being a reliable community member.

However, I think this story never reaches its full potential. Parts of this feel missing or rushed. I feel like the pack dynamics were off as it doesn’t feel like real, intimate relationships were built. I also wish there was more insight into the relationship between the men as well. I like when men in rh feel like real friends or family and I feel that was lacking a bit.

So, So Good

I've been reading starts of book after book trying to find a connection. Then The Omega's Bookstore becomes freely available. I love omega stories, so I snatched it up.

Actually, I've been gobbling it down all day, barely breathing in between bites. Whether it's menopause hormones or the whole essence of the story, I came up for air only twice today, but it has made me cry several times. Yes, it has all the omega dynamics with Ivy's four Alphas, but those vibes weren't even the best parts of the story. It was everything else included in the plot timeline and so many poignant moments! Plus, a whopping good, kick-ass scenario with Ivy in the main position.

One critical comment: Some of the syntax is off kilter; not stated in a familiar way. I didn't report it, because I didn't know if the writer speaks American English or another dialect.

Needs a few tweaks to be exceptional

This was a book that with some editing, I could give five stars, but there were two big issues:

1. Continuity errors. At one point a sub head for one Syndicate ( a fairly big character) has suddenly worked for another Mob for 30? Years. The FMC starts training at 6, then 4...and I might have seen 2 years. The mother of the FMC is taken anywhere between 20 and 23 years before.

2. Pacing later in the book. The majority of the book has some repetition, but not too bad. And the story progresses well. And then the main plot ends...and the story starts to drag for the last quarter of the book. I see what the author was trying to say and it made sense, but it took too long to do so.

Otherwise, the characters are fantastic. The FMC is a true badass. And it was a fun read.

Her guys by MeemsAngel82

This is my second book by this author and normally I don't do reverse harem but this sounded so good. The characters are all likable. I think our female lead is tough and had to basically survive on her own for a while. She is not one to bow down and yet she has demonstrated just how kind she can be using her bookstore as a safe haven.

She is not a beta and is discovered...

This group of men are wonderful. Protective and caring and supportive of her. They are all good with her. I am surprised that this was as long as it was but the story was entertaining. Picking a part of the story, I would say that the beginning was the best. I love the complexity these men offer and she was a person who fought for what she wanted which was admirable.

A cozy sweet Omegaverse that also has a little spicy deliciousness. I ate it up. I really enjoyed this world and the characters. The pacing and set for the plot were great. I couldn't get enough of these alphas and their amazing omega. Ivy is the kind of sweet yet fierce character you'd want on your side. The Wolfe Syndicate pack is made up of the best mix of alpha personalities. I loved the dynamic between all the guys and Ivy. The slow burn and build-up were worth it. The connection they had was the perfect blend of sweet and heat. With suspenseful mafia-ish action, this made for an exciting twist. I loved everything about this book.

The premise of The Omega Bookstore instantly drew me in. I’m always eager for an omegaverse story where the omega is concealing their identity for a meaningful reason, and Ivy’s motivations felt authentic. The depiction of her bookstore as a vibrant community hub was a highlight, making her role as a supportive figure especially endearing.

However, I felt that the story ultimately didn’t deliver on all its promise. Some sections seemed incomplete or too fast-paced, and the development of pack dynamics was lacking depth for me. I wanted to see more genuine connections, particularly among the men, as the group’s relationships didn’t always feel natural or emotionally rich. Rh books are at their best when those bonds feel real, and here, I found that missing.

loved it !! a good start for this series !! love Ivy, Lucian, Theo, Rafe and Elias... this is their story... a fast paced rom/drama mafia omegaverse... Ivy is hiding in plain sight.. she's an unclaimed omega pretending to be a beta and her bookstore is so much more than what you see... it's a safe haven , to help omegas from trafficking.. to help children.. medical help if needed... a safe haven... the Wolfe Syndicate... they see something in Ivy and she smells wrong to them.. not a beta smell...they start helping out at the bookstore... this has many twists and turns... a scary take on the omegaverse... but, a necessary one... it's good !! it's bold !!!.

Tough Omega who can kick butt!

This is the perfect book for anyone who loves a tough FMC who can take care of herself, but blossoms even more when she meets her pack. Every character is distinct and interesting with their own flaws and strengths.

It's not a perfect book as there are a few timeline inconsistencies and a couple of mixed up descriptions (ex. an art project that's described as a butterfly, then a dragon, and then a butterfly again - all on the same page). It's not really enough to ruin the enjoyment, just be momentarily confusing. Spice level is very low, but the romance is sweet. HEA included.

This is the perfect blend of an omegaverse read with action and mafia life elements it had me addicted I didn’t want to stop reading and didn’t put it down till I was done this had so many elements that I love having in a book I read just the right amount of spice and you fall in love with these amazing characters as they fight for themselves and find something that they never knew they even needed, I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series because I need to know what happens next!

I enjoyed this for the most part.
Ivy’s been in hiding since she can remember. She can’t remember before she woke up in hospital when she was 16 and was told she was an omega. But lately she’s noticed strange guys watching her little bookstore.
Then she meets them. The alphas, who are determined to keep her safe.
The part I don’t like is occasionally at the end of a chapter there will be an extra bit say Cliffhanger or Epilogue of thought. And then a little internal rambling or something the author added in. It’s really unnecessary and distracting.

I really didn't know what to expect from this book. I am so happy that I took the chance and read it. She is strong willed and stubborn, without being spoiled and obnoxious. I love an independent FMC that grows into herself and Ivy is perfect. The men are protective alphas who learn to understand patience. Make compromises enough to encourage Ivy but not actually giving in. So much suffering but also hope and a light at the end of the tunnel.
