I’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

So, let’s face it…. Every series ultimately builds to a climax, and in fantasy settings it’s a safe bet that the climax will be a battle of some sort.
Cameron has elevated this to an art form, I swear.
Tommy’s writing and writing style have continued to improve significantly over the years. Secret Agent Witch was the first series where he actually let himself delve into the darker side of things, the result of which was an excellent but somewhat unsettling series of reads. With THIS series, he has successfully branched into an even more difficult area to map or explore - that GRAY area where everyone and everything gets confused. And he’s doing it exceptionally well.
Yes, our villains are very tropey supervillains complete with “lairs,” henchmen and disguises. In fact, in this installment, wow, not a perfect analogy, you could even say that the villain has effectively become Dr. Doom sans face injuries. I won’t elaborate jest this become a spoiler. LOL
I know from reading his author’s notes that Tommy is ready to leave Oriceran and visit new worlds, and I assure you, I’ll be following him there. But in the meantime I’m truly glad of the fact that he’s stayed long enough to give us this series.
I can definitely see this series as a great movie or TV series. It's action packed with the struggles of a swat team to handle difficulties that come their way. Magic added to that and the fun increases. It has everything to keep you reading about what they may encounter next. I really don't want the series to end, but I know it will sometime. Until then, keep me wanting more please.
Danica and her crew are getting closer to discovering who is focused on taking out the team and the client they are protecting. The more they learn, the more determined they are to finding and stopping them. The series is getting closer to a close and ramping up in action and excitement. I cannot wait to read the last book and see how it all ends.
This is really a fun series. The characters are interesting and have been developed well. The plot is always interesting. Good mixture of action and magic. Recommended.
This series gets better with each book. I love the great comradery between the Spellbound team. Additionally, Zoey brought an interesting new personality to the mix.
I can hardly wait for the release of the eighth book in this series.
