Control is power. Surrender is liberation. The truth changes everything.
Victoria Fraser never gives up control—not in the bedroom, not in business, not ever. With her empire of pleasure and power firmly established, she's the woman who makes others submit. But beneath her dominant exterior, a dangerous curiosity stirs.
When billionaire Suzette Conner-Wakeman offers Victoria seventy-five million pounds for her businesses with one shocking condition—complete submission for a single night—it awakens a desire Victoria never knew existed. A desire to surrender. To let go. To experience the exquisite vulnerability she's always denied herself.
With her wife Abby by her side, Victoria steps into Suzette's world of luxury and calculated seduction. But what begins as a high-stakes game of power and pleasure quickly becomes a journey into unexpected territory. As bodies entwine and boundaries dissolve, the three women discover that true dominance means more than they ever imagined.
Who will submit? Who will dominate? And who will be forever changed by desire's truth?
A scorching, sophisticated novel that will leave you breathless and begging for more. The most provocative book you'll read this year.
I’m used to this series talking about a lot of topics and having an amazing writing, but wow. There is representation for so many people, and it’s described in a beautiful way.
Abby and Victoria’s relationship once again reached new levels. Even with lots of things getting in the way and old acquaintances coming back, they handled everything in such a loving way that you truly feel their unconditional and unwavering love.
I really appreciated that all the characters from previous books, even if they appeared less, still felt like a big part of our main couple’s life. I honestly thought I wouldn’t warm up to Suzette, but I was obviously wrong. She’s a very complex character, that’s for sure, but you can definitely relate to her.
Overall, I definitely recommend starting this whole series. You’ll get lovely characters, a lot of top-notch spice, and the writing is so good it’ll make you think for a while after finishing.
Desire's Truth by Ruby Scott, the sixth, and last novel in the Awakening of Desire series, is a moving conclusion to a series that captures the imagination. Brace yourself for a whole lot of spice and then some!
Catching up with Victoria, Abby, and their found family feels like reconnecting with old friends. Suzette, a new acquaintance, adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. The more I read, the more I appreciated her complexity. This novel reveals deep desires and intense feelings. If you've read the other books, grab this one too!
This is an incredibly beautiful and thought provoking series. To be honest this is the only BDSM series I have read. "May I Call You Mistress", the first book in the series, was my introduction to this genre. I am more of a romance, sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal reader but I enjoyed all of Ruby's previous books, so what the heck, right? She needed ARC readers and I had the time - it turned out to be a great educational and eye opening experience - for a 70 year old that says something.
Ruby is a wordsmith, her ability to build characters, situations, and places is like watching a well directed movie. This book, like the rest of the series is a page turner - Beautifully written with engaging and complex characters, dynamic story line and worth every minute invested in reading.
I’m finding this review almost difficult to write because there is so much about this book that I love. This is a story of growth, trust, and discovery. I adore Victoria and Abby and the level of trust and intimacy between them is ultimate #couplegoals. I really wanted to hate Suzette (you’ll see why) but, of course, Ruby wouldn’t make it that easy. The level of inclusion of queer and gender-diverse people in this book also blew me away. Every instance, every interaction, every story development, and “plot twist” was written with care and respect and it made this story all the more enjoyable. The 🌶️ was absolutely top notch and I 10/10 would recommend this book!
I had mixed feelings about this novel. I will definitely say that it was good, however I think some of the elements didn’t quite work for me.
The writing is very well done, you can count on that. The spicy scenes were great and continue to be a key feature of this series. The relationship between Abby and Victoria is the other high-point and they had several wonderful and sweet moments together. It was nice to see their relationship continue to grow, and also to explore some new avenues that we had not seen before. There are a lot of plotlines taking place in this novel (a good and bad thing) and we got to see a lot of different relationship dynamics play out on the page. There were some particularly good moments that showcased what a healthy BDSM relationship looks like, including boundaries and the overall mentality that is appropriate.
Unfortunately, I did not like a lot of the central plotline involving Suzette. I won’t give any big spoilers, and you can read the book blurb, but essentially the whole thing “gave me the ick” big time and I spent most of this novel with low-key anxiety in a way that I did not enjoy. As much as this novel showcased healthy relationships and BDSM dynamics, it also leaned into the exact opposite, and I will be honest that it made me uncomfortable. In several different ways. . I was also annoyed that this novel seemed to forget the cliffhanger that the prior novel left off with so I felt unsatisfied there, and I found that there was too much going on to really get the kind of screen time I wanted with many of the secondary characters.
Despite my many complaints, I think I’m rounding this rating up to 4-stars because the book was well done. I am going to assume that some of these issues I had were “me problems”.
5 stars and more. Wow what a super ending of the story of Victoria and Abby. This last instalment has everything. Surprise twists and turns. Lots of Love and hot, hot, HOT s..... Thank you Ruby for this wonderful series.
As we see that Abby and Victoria have been married for eight years now Victoria is wanting a change not from marriage but life in general. In walks Suzette Conner-Wakeman with on offer that is unorthodox. I couldn't put this book down. I wanted to know if Abby and Victoria would take the deal, but life needs change to keep you going. The heat level was amazing and the anticipation of what will happen next keeps you reading. You visit some old friends and what is happening in their lives plus we meet new people with Suzette heirloom. I am sure there may be one more story to come. Hoping. A great book read but read the series so you know what's going on you will not be disappointed
I was enjoying Victoria and Abby’s story so much I didn’t want it to end to end. However, their story has come full circle with this funny, loving, intriguing and sexy as hell, final installment. The end for us, sees the start of the rest of the lives of these well known and loved by us characters. We find out what happens with them all, but the biggest surprise lies with the truths we learn for Victoria and Abby themselves. We discover how kink doesn’t always have to involve “tools of the trade”, always being strong doesn’t mean always being in control, that we can always find new things to keep our relationships alive and fresh, that strengthen our bonds even more than we thought possible and that with mutual consent, the sky really is the limit. In typical Ruby Scott fashion, she has left me wanting more, with the possibilities of future books, involving characters integral to this final chapter, but new to us and I am here for whatever journey she takes us on next. Bravo once again Ruby Scott.
This is another great book about the lives of Victoria and Abby. And it would not be the same without their supporting characters. You really need to read the previous books to follow along. Victoria is having sorta mid life crisis. But not with her marriage. A wealthy woman sets her sights on Victoria. Ruby weaves a erotic storyline around Suzette's chase of Victoria. One thing I dearly love about these books is the strength of Abby's love of Victoria. Once you start, you will not want to put this one down. There are hot spicy scenes and tender love scenes. It just kept pulling me in. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy.
This series has literally blown my mind. It’s brilliant. Each and every book capturing the most beautiful of relationships and taking readers on a journey of exploration, healing, curiosity, growth and sensual strength.
The characters all bring something unique, their own story and path, whether it be healing, exploring or pushing their boundaries safely. The entire series gives an insight into the many facets of BDSM, educating readers and flipping the script just enough to keep it intoxicatingly addictive. But most of all, it is a reminder of what healthy relationships look like, those rooted in trust and love.
In my opinion each book gets stronger, longer and more meaningful. Desire’s Truth feels like a precious gift, allowing the reader to follow Victoria as she questions herself, pushes herself, admits to herself and ultimately accepts herself in ways that feel so intimate. The addition of Suzette and all the dynamics that follow were pure genius!
I’m so glad I bought this series on paperback because I will undoubtedly read it again and again and I really hope it eventually makes it way to audio because everyone needs to devour it, regardless of how you enjoy your books!
5 out of 5 and can’t wait for the next instalment…
Well what a story. Ruby has certainly pulled the goods out of the bag for this one. I didn't think I could actually be scared for the main characters of Victoria and Abby, but I was.
Victoria is feeling restless and wants to sell her businesses, she needs to shake things up. Her business partner Alison, who is on a hillside in Peru, is all for it too as she also has plans for the future.
A friend heps put feelers out for a potential buyer, and lo and behold a very generous offer comes in from a name that Victoria has tried to forget for the past 8 years. Even Abbey does know about Suzette.
The offer comes with a condition, is it a price that Victoria can submit to, will Abbey understand? What and more importantly who has Victoria got them mixed up with. Ruby has again written a story with great depth, containing a considerable supporting cast with their own challenges. If you enjoyed the previous books in the series this one will not disappoint.
It's about Victoria and Abby and their encounter with the famous Suzette Conner-Wakeman, of course, but also about so much more. We meet all the wonderful and beloved characters again and get a glimpse into their lives today and how they've changed. It's so well written, and so much happens! Changes and events practically pile up. It stays so varied, fresh, and hot. My goodness, it's hot again!! I have to say, i never thought I'd like Freya so much ;)) As for the story itself and the order. I already knew Suzette from "The Turning." because didn't follow the order of reading them as they came out. So all the characters were familiar to me, and I was happy to see them all again. Especially like this! So incredibly hot! All of them! Whoever reads this will understand later after reading "Desire's Truth." Thanks so much to Ruby Scott for the ARC and another incredible story! This is another favorite for me!
What an absolutely enjoyable, fascinating and compelling series. I was reeled in by the cover and blurb of the first book in the series, May I Call You Mistress? I was not disappointed! Thereafter it was a must to complete the series. The story of Abby, Victoria and the other characters flows seamlessly from one book to another inviting the reader into their lives and loves, and leaving no stone unturned to make you then the page to find out whatever would happen next. Ruby Scott's storytelling is expressive, quick witted, and grounded in reality with splashes of humour that makes you laugh out loud. I highly recommend this series.
I have been reading this Desire series since the very first book and I absolutely love it! This one is even better and hotter than the rest. Love is respect and understanding, love is unselfish and let your partner enjoy her fantasy wholeheartedly. What moved me the most is that this amazing strong and lovely couple Victoria and Abby, in the face of uncertainty, fully untied as one and won the challenge in flying colors. I can't get enough of their blissful domestic life, with their friends and family, all supportive and caring.
Desires Truth being the fifth book in the amazing Awakening of Desire series I was so intrigued as to where this next instalment would take us. I was not disappointed in the slightest, it gave me everything I never even knew I wanted. To have followed Abby and Victoria’s story right from the very start, Desires Truth had my jaw hitting in floor. A true story of love, acceptance, trust and desire. Suzette is an absolute legend and offers a whole new dynamic to this whole series. The heat is off the charts with this one.
Wow what an epic end to amazing story, Ruby Scott has out done herself yet again I haven't read a single book that fails to catch me this one though just blow me away I didn't see the twists coming and boy was it hot it's a delicious ending definitely worth reading a must-read congratulations
Pages filled with passion and desire. Sometimes the journey brings forth more truth and learning about yourself. Vulnerability is sacred and only in a safe place surrounded by trust can it be revealed.
This book is sexy as hell. The heat in this whole series is off the charts, and this book took things to an entirely new level. I didn't think it was possible to love Victoria more, but watching her navigate surrender and the desires that emerge made me fall even harder.
