When Intrusion Meets Unexpected Intimacy

Giselle Beaumont just wants to complete her degree in peace and finally take control of her own life. But when she’s forced into a seminar she never wanted to take, she’s less than thrilled — until she realizes her enigmatic lecturer is unfairly attractive. At least that makes things a little more bearable.

Valeris Archer is determined to keep his new life as a university lecturer clean, distant, and professional. That plan shatters when he meets the one person he swore to stay away from. But staying away is easier said than done, especially when being a hacker gives him the perfect way to watch over her from the shadows. Just a little peek. Just a little closer. What harm could it do?

As an undeniable connection pulls them together, secrets threaten to push them apart. Because love built on deception has consequences — and the line between love and betrayal is razor-thin.

Hacked Love is the 2nd Book in the Love Series.

I received an ARC of “Hacked Love” for an honest review.

This is book 2 of the Love series. I would highly suggest reading book 1, Abstract Love.

Giselle & Valeris’ story is such a roller coaster!
We definitely go through all the emotions and damage control through this short and sweet book. At around 250 pages, we go through all the feels.
From the very first supposed meet-cute, the teacher/student dynamic, the cutesy angst and longing between both characters.
There is mention of dark themes, but no actual description.

We see Oscar & Ari from book one and the girl group that creates a found family vibe.
Valeris’ OTTJP vibe for Giselle shows through as possessiveness and protectiveness though we don’t find out why, or where that came from until the end.

Their relationship definitely packs a punch, such a quick chemistry explosion at the start turned into dust, turned into something that is built on trust and loyalty.

Stronger by the end. Apolo & Byte just make it that much sweeter.

Looking forward to book 3 to get more insight into Kayden & Kara’s story!

Happy reading

4.75 ⭐️ spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️ | I absolutely devoured this story. Like the first one, it was easy to finish in a few hours as it isn’t very long, but the story still managed to feel so full and complete! The pacing was perfect, and you can really see the improvement and development in the writing style in comparison to book one.

Giselle and Valeris’ love story was so well done. I loved their witty banter, and I feel like they had so much chemistry! The way they both helped one another grow was beautiful, and I really felt so connected to the characters this time round. Apolo and Byte being added created the perfect little family in the end. I really liked that we got more of the MC’s backstories as well as I felt that was a bit lacking in the first story. Also enjoyed getting a little glimpse at how Oliver and Ari’s relationship is going.

The friendship between the four girls was even stronger and more in depth in this book which I loved, definitely best friend goals 🙏🏻

I’ve been offered an arc of book three and I have to say I am very excited to get stuck into it when it comes out! We’ve had some glimpses into Kayden and Kara’s relationship already so I can’t wait to see what their story brings 🖤

First of all, a big and massive thank you to miss Aileen for letting me read Hacked Love as an ARC reader ♥️

Now, on to the book itself!! I loved it guys 😭
I think you can truly see the improvement in the author’s writing which makes me incredibly excited to read her future works.

Giselle and Valeris have my absolute heart, what a match made in heaven. I sincerely loved every aspect in their relationship, from the banter to the angst to the happy ending.

Also, it was so fun seeing Oscar in full boyfriend mode with Ari, make em get married already hahahaha 🤣

The girls friendship is honestly so admirable and I think it might be one of my favourite aspects about this book ❤️‍🩹

Anyone else infinitely stoked for Kara and Kaydan’s story?? AHHHHH💃

“The issue with running away? You can’t run away from yourself.”

Hacked Love is a spicy romance book filled with tension and character development! Valeris is a hacker, who has seen way too much because of his work. He decides to step down, but hacking is in his fingers so when he gets his hands on her computer (that needs fixing), his fingers slips. One little “accident” turns into a full addiction of making sure she has the best of everything. Giselle does everything in her power for her ambitions with the little she gets as a student. Then she somehow gets scheduled into one of the classes she never signed up for. She only has one reason not to leave the class; him.

This book had me giggling and kicking my feet up in the air as well as laughing until my cheeks hurt. Their snarky comments back and forth had me hooked for every second I spent reading this book! The way both accepted each other for who they are and helped to grow with each other had me wishing I was Giselle. And let’s not forget about the connection between them, ahhhhh!!! Sometimes I couldn’t even breathe properly. Once I finished this book it actually felt as if a part of me had been ripped out of me… I came so close with the characters and the world that it hurt to be done with them.

I’d recommend this book(series) to anyone who wants to start reading more dark romance and want to start of small to see if they like it. Or if you feel likes reading a romance book with amazing stalker vibes, gift-giving as love language, boxing and biker MMC, heads over heels, spice, character growth, this book is for you!!

This is my honest ARC review.

Storyline. 5/5⭐️
Characters. 5/5⭐️
Spice. 4/5⭐️

Storyline, I love the story! It is entertaining and funny, the flirty banter made me smile a few times. It also deals with betrayal and how the human emotion deals with it. This keeps the story real and easy to read since we can relate with the characters.

Characters, Giselle is such a sweetheart who has had her share of betrayal. I love how spontaneous and lovable she is, but she also shows strength and fierceness.
Valeris is such a compassionate character, having dealt with emotional issues due to his work. He comes over as tough, but those outer layers are just a facade. Willing to work on himself to move forward.
The side characters as usual are amazing! Karalina is a force to be reckoned with, can’t wait to read her story !!!
🌶️ The spicy scenes were enough, wasn’t that OTT, but I can’t give more than 4⭐️ since I wanted to read a tiny bit more, uhm, ways 🫣🫣🫣

All in all an awesome book 2, keeping it up in the same writing style as book 1. Banter, romance, eek moments, sad moments, it’s all there!
Definitely a must read!
If you haven’t read book1, I suggest you grab that one too!

"The line between love and betrayal is razor-thin..."

A dark romance with spice, tension, and a slow burn that actually delivers!!

Valeris — the MMC — is a hacker, a biker, and just the right amount of obsessive. Intense, protective, and carrying darkness from his past, he’s not your typical hero… and that’s what makes him stand out

Giselle, our FMC, is everything I love in a lead — strong, ambitious, and unafraid to call out nonsense. She’s in the middle of her master’s program, living her life — until Valeris shows up, drawn to her in a way even he can’t explain

Their chemistry? Pure fire!
But what really stole my heart was their conversations — the banter was hilarious, sharp, and so real.
The pacing was perfect — never rushed, never dragging. Even though it plays with familiar tropes, the execution felt fresh.
And the supporting cast? Loved them!!
Her besties were super wholesome and added so much warmth to the darker edges of the story.

👉 This is book 2 in an interconnected series, so no worries — you’ll get to see familiar faces again in the other books. I actually love that feeling of not having to say goodbye to characters just yet 🥹

Let yourself fall for the chaos, the chemistry, and the conversations — Valeris and Giselle are worth it ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

He hacked her world. She hacked his heart — and mine too, honestly.

Hacked Love completely stole my attention — the characters, the tension, the banter, the emotions, and yes… the perfectly-timed spice. Aileen Carter has such a natural way of writing where the humour, chemistry, and heavier emotions melt together so smoothly.

Giselle is smart, witty, kind, and so easy to root for. And Valeris? Intelligent, strong, and quietly intense in that “I would burn the world for you” kind of way. The dynamic between them had me giggling, kicking my feet, and blushing at the exact same time.

The forest scene? I’m still recovering.
The banter? Top tier.
The chemistry? Off the charts.

I also loved that we got glimpses of past characters and little hints of what might be coming next in the series — it makes the world feel alive, connected, and so easy to fall back into. Honestly, my only complaint? I wanted more pages. I wasn’t ready to leave them yet.

If you love:
💻 hacker x student slow-burn tension
💬 banter that makes you grin like an idiot
🔥 spice that feels natural and earned
❤️ found family vibes and emotional healing

…then you need this book. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

Book Two from The Love Series

Thank you for the ARC of this book, Aileen Carter!

Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spice - 🌶️🌶️

Hacked Love introduces the morally grey character, Valeris. He is struggling to move away from his past and the secrets that come with his job of being a hacker. Enter Giselle who takes his seminar class at University. I love the banter between these two characters. You don't have to ask yourself the old age question of "will they or wont they?" but instead "When will they?"

While reading this I had hoped to see more banter between them as they get to know each other in the seminar. The jump to the end of the semester from the first chapter to the second made me wish for more, but that is my only complaint. I just wanted more!

Should Valeris have hacked her computer? "NO!" But so I love how he uses the hack to romance Giselle, "YES!"

The author's writing showed growth from book one to book two, so I can't wait to read the third book in this series. If you enjoy a slightly dark romance with a grumpy sunshine dark romance that mixes banter with spice!

✨ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Frequent and graphic spicy content.)
🖤 Vibe: Intense. Taut. Seductive.
💥 Tropes: Hacker romance | Secrets | Slow burn | Emotional connection
❤️‍🔥 What to expect: When a hacker breaches her system, their unexpected connection turns personal—and dangerously intimate. What begins as curiosity becomes a battle of control, trust, and desire.
💭 For readers who love: Morally grey tech heroes, tension-driven chemistry, and slow-burn romance that blurs the line between risk and intimacy.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hacked Love. What I really love about Aileen Carter’s books is that her men know they’re doing wrong — and they feel it. They don’t excuse their actions; they regret them deeply, which makes them feel real and human instead of just another dark romance stereotype.

It was emotional, addictive, and exactly the kind of flawed-but-honest story I love.

Hacked Love is book 2 in The Love Series and I felt it was a total page-turner. Giselle’s just trying to get through school and live her life, and then Valeris, who’s a hacker and basically a walking mystery, shows up and flips everything upside down. The tension between them was delicious. You’re laughing at their banter one second and totally swooning the next.

What I loved is that it’s a little edgy without being over-the-top. The hacker twist gives it some real stakes, but at its heart, it’s about two people figuring each other out, and doing it in a fun, messy, flirty way. Honestly, I finished it in basically one sitting and kept thinking about the characters after.

If you’re looking for something fast, funny, a little steamy, and just plain entertaining, this one’s worth picking up.

It was impossible not to devour this story in one sitting. Although the book is quite short it felt entirely complete. You can really pick up on the improvement of the writing since book 1.

As much as I loved Oscar and Arianna in Abstract Love, I adored Valeris and Giselle even more. They were witty and had such fun banter. Aileen Carter provided more backstories for the characters this time round and I really appreciated that. What I truly loved was how it felt like they were helping each other heal, grow and become better versions of themselves. I know their relationship was tainted from the beginning but they were just meant to be.

I felt the friendship between the girls was more prominent in this book and it was shown how close they actually are.

Overall a superb read with just the right amount of spice.

Super excited to read Karalina and Kaydans story, also wondering if Ariana is going to meet someone...

Wow! I luved this book!
This instalment focuses on Giselle and Valeris. I could feel their chemistry right from the beginning of the book 😍 I luved the banter between them!

It ticked all the boxes for me!! It's a dual POV, there's obsession, stalking, protectiveness, forgiveness, and 2nd chances. It's spicy 😉🌶My heart nearly broke 2 thirds of the way through!! 🤣 The story touches on mental health issues (please be careful if this is a trigger for u), and they get their HEA ❤️

Valeris gives me Zade Meadow vibes, and he has joined the ranks of book boyfriends!! 🤣🤪😉

I luved this book and would thoroughly recommend it 👌❤️

Another quick and enjoyable read by Aileen Carter.  Although it can be read as a stand alone, i would recommend reading "Abstract Love" first as some of the characters cross over, not so much that you don't understand what's going on though.  I notice that the running theme for these books are right v's wrong, knowing the difference between bad people and good people having a bad day. A few trigger warnings, it mentions the dark web and unfortunately the kind of depraived things that can be found there but also those people who work tirelesly to bring those sites down and how it affects them mentally and I know a few people who could do with an "Alina-Jail".  5 🌟

4 ✨ Broody, glasses wearing, motorcycle riding, dark web hacking professor? Phew, say no more. I love my men obsessed, and Valeris Archer was definitely obsessed. He and Giselle’s banter was so entertaining, and humorous. I really admired the confidence Giselle brought to this story- it felt realistic and was the perfect foil to Valeris’ dominating personality. This story also had just the right splashes of dark elements and deeper emotions that brought a moody tone that kept me intrigued. The extra length gave author the opportunity to really show her growth, and I’m excited for what she does next!

This book was just as easy and good a read as the first in this series, though this one was a bit more fast paced and definitely spicier.

Though the characters of course have different stories and backgrounds in both books, the storyline is similar but that doesn't make it any less thrilling nor does it make it repetitive in my opinion.

The dynamic and spark between the main characters and the role the friends play in it is very nice and I loved how the main characters of the first book still play a prominent role in this book.

Definitely put this on your TBR!

I read book one, Abstract Love, and liked it, but I really enjoyed reading Hacked Love!
The interactions, flirting, banter, and the emails/text messages between Giselle and Valeris were top notch.
When I say there were multiple times laughed from the characters being funny and multiple times I giggled when the characters were flirty, I mean it!
No spoilers, but chapter 38 was my favorite! <3 :)
I am looking forward to reading book 3!

Anther amazing arc read from Aileen. Wow! Book two was such a roller coaster. The banter and the sass between the two is amazing. This book has me laughing out loud and crying at the end. I really felt for the poor dude. You can’t forget Apolo and Byte! I want them both! I’m so exited to see the “K” couple story in the next book. I can’t wait!

5/5 - amazing banter, professor/student, biker and boxer, if I catch you I “get” you (if you catch my drift)

This is book 2 of the Love Series.
This book follows the love story between Giselle, a lover of fashion 👗, and Valeris, a hacker and a biker (shall I say anything more?!) 🏍️💻
The connection between the two characters was unreal and throughout the story they go through so much growth.

Can’t wait to read about Kayden and Kara’s story next!

Another wonderful read. This story is Laugh Out Loud funny, full of angst, suspense and yearning. This story is so beautifully written, reading it makes you feel like it’s happening to you and at one point I was sobbing. I loved this story and I am loving this whole series.

I really enjoyed Hacked Love! It pulled me in right away with the whole hacker twist — it’s not your typical romance which made it fun to read. I absolutely loved the chemistry between the characters and how real their emotions felt. I felt like I was one with the books at certain point’s. There were some darker and emotional parts that gave the story more depth, but it still had that spark and heat that kept me wanting to read more and more. Definitely a great read if you’re into emotional, spicy romances

This was such a fun, and interesting quick read.

There were so many little twists throughout the book, and so many moments you really weren’t sure on how it was going to unfold next. The chemistry & passion, lies & deceit, and a journey of travelling through it all.

Well Aileen has done it again - given me a sunshine FMC and a morally grey, broody MMC that I can't help but root for! Although I will say Valeris is much more moral than Oscar (book one which I recommend you read) and I actually think I loved this story and the characters even more.

Plus that spice 🥵

I cannot wait for Kaydan and Kara's story.

I received this as an ARC and am willing leaving a review. This is the second book in this series and I’m really enjoying the interwoven storylines. I love the tension that builds with each story and I have to say Valeria may just be my new favorite. Dark and brooding with a gooey center. Love it!

book 2 in the series and I'm officially hooked. I cannot wait to read more about the inherent characters. this one is about Giselle and Valeris. Giselle is doing her masters for physics and attends a Seminar given by Valeris. what she doesn't know is he is a hacker deeply infatuated with the thought of her. . what starts off as friendly exchanges becomes Valeris training her in boxing. there are some secrets and situations that will both pull them together as well as apart. if you read book 1 Giselle is Ari friend and valeris is Oscar "friend" hacker. the story will captivate you into.wanating to know more or even have you in wonder of his capabilities. I cannot wait for book 3.

ANOTHER hit as a 2nd book!!

Loved the main character development, although the betrayal part was very similar to Abstract love but the aftermath showed deep growth and movement between the 2 of them, to get back together and build something stronger.

Loved the smaller additions, cannot wait for the next installment!

📸 Main Characters 📸

Valeris Archer
Giselle Beaumont

🫶🏻 Tropes 🫶🏻

Professor x Student
Dual POV
Second Chance
Stalker-esq/ Hacker

🦋 Summary 🦋

Giselle just wants to finish up her degree so she can start her life. Then she gets stuck in a class she didn’t want to take but before she can get too annoyed about it she meets the professor and wow, he’s good looking. That’s a plus for sure.

Valeris is determined to keep his hacking separate from his new job as a lecturer, but when he meets the woman he has been obsessing over he needs to try to keep his distance. That is better said than done. When you have his skills it’s not hard to find a way to keep watch from a distance. What happens when feelings take over and they can no longer stay away from each other, will they last or will secrets cause them to break?

🤩 Did I love it? Thoughts? 🤩

I loved it. I really enjoyed the story and characters a lot. This book made me emotional and not going to lie, I had been crying the last few chapters. They really broke me. Giselle was such a happy character and the way she tried to stay positive even when life got hard was inspiring. She didn’t let the day to day issues change her attitude. Her desire to find happiness and love was so sweet.

Valeris broke my heart. He was such a good man, doing what he did daily cost him greatly and he was just trying to fix himself the best he could. Their story was so sweet and I loved how he just wanted to make her happy.

I also liked the little throwback to some things we learned and saw in the first book.

I loved that we got to see the couple from the first book again and get more of their story in this one and also a few hints as to the next couple for the next book.

🩵 Would I recommend this Book? 🩵

Yes. I love a good hacker/stalker, professor and student, slowish burn book. If you like that too you will enjoy this book. I am so excited to continue this series and cannot wait to read the third book coming out very soon.

Go. Buy. Now.
Enjoy reading! 🤩
