Have you ever felt like Job? Leagh Matthews’ main characters in Forever Changed both find their worlds flipped totally on their heads. Far from the success (and disappointments) of their entertainment industry careers, they find themselves scrambling as they face tragedy and great new responsibilities. With the support of family, friends, and an ‘almost ghost’ their faith and lives grow. You’ll applaud the outcome.

Forever Changed is more than a romance between two people; it depicts the love story between God and humans. The two main characters grapple with loss, love, and spiritual brokenness. God’s love in the form of family, good friends, and supernatural visits shines through. While reading, I chuckled at familiar family situations, clicked my tongue at characters making wrong decisions, and felt cleansing tears well up. This book had all the feels.

This book is chock full of surprises, with an aspiring actress who suddenly finds herself in charge of a brood of kids, a farm, and two grandmothers. Of course, she has to deal with a helpful but irritating family friend who challenges her at every step in her new life. As the love story develops, it includes the whole family, half of the community, and even a little time travel. This is no formula romance; every chapter seems to bring a new challenge.

Author Diana Leagh Matthews weaves an intriguing speculative tale around what we all fear is true when tragedy strikes, with Forever Changed. The twists, an unexpected character with insight, and the characters’ gripping battles to cling to their dreams kept me guessing at the outcome through every chapter.

You fall in love with the characters. It flows like a waterfall into a river. It is warm, funny, exasperating, loving, full of heartaches, forgiveness, wisdom and delightful twists and turns.
