This was such an enjoyable read! Enemies to Lovers is definitely one of my top three favorite tropes, and this book nailed it. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic, the witty banter, and the chemistry between the main characters—Theo and Mia—who can't stand each other yet can't stay away, was everything I wanted. Theo is absolutely amazing, which is probably why I devoured this in one sitting. Mia is such a badass, and I love a strong FMC. I relate to her on so many levels, and this book truly gave me everything I needed right now.
Mia is my daughter’s teacher and we got off on the wrong foot having met previously and our strong dislike for each other is going to make things impossible for my daughter Kiara but things go from bad to worse when I fall for Mia and the school finds out. Our lives are turned upside down and Kiara is not on board of our relationship but we cannot stay away from each other.
Theo is the strong silent grumpy type and when he finally falls he falls hard but for Kiara’s sake he tries to end things with Mia.
Can they have a relationship? Will Kiara ever accept this relationship? Will the school accept this relationship?
Well, this is hilarious, but so so much more! The main characters were killing me with their enemies to...will they ever become lovers trope lol. I kept catching myself saying things to them outloud throughout the story like they'd actually hear me, and my face hurt from all the laughter they were giving me with their commentary and moments the universe kept throwing them in. On the other hand, I had times where my heart was pained for them because everything seemed against them when they finally realized their feelings. I really loved this book because it brought out an array of emotions throughout it that I really felt as I read it. Demi Blaize created such fun and loveable characters with personalities that were unique but relatable. Theo is a Grumpy single dad that is just trying to help his daughter sift through the grief of losing her mother and his best friend/co-parent while starting fresh in a new city and school while Mia is his daughter's new teacher who has a colorful vocabulary, often finds herself in some sorts of trouble, and is a loyal bulldozer for all she loves. Demi Blaize gave me many hours of entertainment with this well-rounded story, and I can wait to read more of her books! I really loved the fact that even though this is a Romcom it hit topics like grief, anxiety, love after loss, and all different relationship dynamics(dad/daughter, family, friendship, lovers, student/teacher, and classmates).
If you are looking for a fun Romcom that also goes a little deeper with their emotions while still bringing the angst, spice, and banter, then stop and take a look at Apparently I'm Trouble!
This had me hooked from the very first page. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic between Mia and Theo was chef’s kiss—so intense, so fiery, and so beautifully done. When they hated, they hated with everything they had. And when they loved? It was just as explosive. The push and pull between them was relentless, every interaction laced with years of unresolved tension and unspoken feelings.
The way they clashed made their eventual moments of passion even more satisfying, and let’s just say—the spice did not disappoint!
Beyond the romance, I absolutely adored Mia and Lilly’s friendship. Their banter was hilarious and genuine, but what I loved most was how fiercely they supported each other. Working in a school setting where their jobs and reputations were constantly under scrutiny, they always had each other’s backs, whether it was handling difficult situations or making sure neither of them was unfairly blamed for things beyond their control. Their loyalty and protectiveness made their friendship feel so real and relatable, and it added another layer of heart to the story.
Another thing that stood out was the way the book handled themes of anxiety, panic attacks, and grief. Kira and Theo’s struggles with losing Tasha were gut-wrenching, and their guilt over finding happiness again was incredibly moving. Their journey felt raw and real, adding so much depth to the story beyond just the romance.
Thank you to Luna Literary Management and Author Demi Blaize for the ARC ✨🫶
Are you looking for a book that’ll leave you kicking your feet, swooning, and begging the powers of the universe to work in the characters favor? I found all that and more in this romance novel that not only gives us a beautiful enemies to lovers story but also explores themes of grief, bullying, and anxiety in a way that I was able to relate and feel heard and seen by the author. She did an amazing job at bringing representation to mental health while still keeping the book fun, light, and engaging. Mia’s strong willed and caring personality makes an amazing FMC and Theo is a DREAM of a MMC. As a parent navigating having teenagers as well this book definitely did a great job of showing what it’s like to navigate your own personal life while trying to be the best parent you can be at the same time. I love how relatable and fun the whole journey was. I cried, I laughed, and I smiled at every turn ready to see what trouble Mia could get into next. Go read Apparently, I’m Trouble today!! It’s a perfect spring read ❤️
Where do I start? As soon as I finished this book, I wanted to start from the beginning again. Theo and Mia can`t stand each other…or can they? This book was filled with sizzling moments, witty banter, and their chemistry was out of this world.
Mia and Theo had me giggling and kicking my feet like a teenager. Also, I’m a sucker for a good dual POV. It’s always interesting to see what’s going on inside their head and their feelings. And the spice….it was slow but very good. She also described the feeling of grieving a loved one so god, that it brought me to tears.
All in a would give this book five stars, and I would definitively recommend this book. Can’t wait to read more from Demi.
Sublime and well worth my time reading about Mia and Theo . A hot mess this ain’t so much as quaint and steamy but oh so ever so dreamy heat. Teacher and student’s dad . Ain’t so bad . Extra curricular activities and oooh does she tease..it’s also a vulnerable place for him to be and him losing his wife and not living life was well thought out and portrayed well too. They turn they love to hate into another state of being and in love they’re fast being . And the steam and laughter is what they’re now after . So this teacher teaches him how to let go of his sorrow too . Now that’s good too. Written well and compelling storytelling
I am a sucker for a good enemies to lovers trope. This book was such an adorable read, from Mia sarcastic tone to Theo’s grumpy’s attitude to their witty banter through out the story. It’s hard not to yell at your book for them to hurry up in this slow burn. But their chemistry made up for it, with me blushing through out with how prefect these two are together. Overall this was a wonderful book that had me laughing. I only wish it wasn’t a slow burn.
Thank you to Grey's Promotions and Demi Blaizefor letting me read this book early with an ARC.
The relationship between Mia and Theo is so wild. It's a enemies to lovers. It's rough, primitive, and primal. It's the teacher and a student's father. It's a little taboo to some, but not unheard of and hardly illegal. It's sexy and spicy. The push, the pull, is all the things; It's everything. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire story. Highly recommend reading it for yourself!
A cute enemies to lovers romcom with LOTS of spice! Mia’s brash personality is such a match for Theo. Kira is trying to navigate her grief after losing her mom and starting a new life while her dad, Theo is doing the same but unexpectedly starts falling in love with her teacher.
This is such a cute and funny enemies to lovers romance! Theo and Mia are incredible, and I love how strong Mia is. I now have several other books to read in the series since I came in on book three!
