Prove Me Wrong.. that this isn’t a 5⭐️ read? I dare you!
I don’t think anyone will convince me - because the way this book had me glued to my kindle, it had no right being this phenomenal.

This book was my first single dad romance and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect balance of real life with small town romance.
I was smiling and giggling and blushing. It was a sweet romance and the perfect autumn or winter read to pick up and enjoy with a glass of wine by the fire.
The relationship between Mia and Noah was adorable. They were patient with each other and one of the most realistic relationships I have read about in a romance. Their respect for each other was refreshing and their interactions reminded me of my own relationship. The slow burn and closed door romance was perfect for this book and it felt healing to read.
Be sure to read the trigger warnings as the trauma depictions and the representations were incredibly accurate. There were minor grammatical issues and some phrases were repeated enough to be noticed, but overall this is an absolute must read.

Despite the heavy beginning, this was mostly a sweet book featuring single dad Noah, and his babysitter Mia. I appreciated the mental health representation in this book, and thought it was well done. Noah's daughter Jade is the sweetest little soul, and I absolutely adored her. Unfortunately this book had a lot of tropes I don't enjoy including insta love, and a 3rd act miscommunication break up. The use of the "twinkle fingers" nickname felt overdone, and I've even googled "apple eyes".. I still don't know what they are..
My predominant issue with this book however, lies more so with Noah's career as a Supercars driver. Without getting into the nitty gritty of it, this book does not portray the real touring cars series accurately whatsoever. I picked this up having grown up as a massive Supercars fan, and found myself immediately irked every time his career as a racing driver is mentioned, due to the many inaccuracies.
If you're an avid Supercars fan and care about a true representation of the sport, I would suggest skipping this one. But, if you don't care about the technicalities and just love motorsport romances, this may be the book for you!

I really enjoyed this book! I absolutely love Noah's character and how patient, sweet, and protective he is! I also really love Mia and her healing and character arc. And each of their dynamics with Jade absolutely melted my heart! I also loved the side characters, especially Sinnett and Nathan. And I just overall loved the character dynamics and really enjoyed the book!

This book had me hooked from page one. The plot kicks off immediately, and I was drawn into Mia’s journey as she escapes a toxic relationship with help from her twin brother, Sinnet. She relocates to a small town to care for her grandmother, and that’s where she meets Noah, her charming, single-dad neighbor. Through a series of natural, believable events, Mia finds herself helping care for Noah’s young daughter, Jade. Despite her best efforts to keep her emotional walls up, the chemistry between her and Noah is undeniable.
I’m not usually drawn to single-dad romances, but this one surprised me in the best way. I appreciated that Noah’s role as a father wasn’t just mentioned, it was shown meaningfully on the page. The portrayal of therapy and anxiety was also handled with care and authenticity, which I really valued.
That said, the story did have some repetitive moments, and certain phrases and metaphors were a bit overused. I’m not sure I’ve ever read so many references to tingling fingers and extremities! Metaphors like “melt like chocolate in a pan” occasionally pulled me out of the story.
One element I wish had been expanded was Gran. Since Mia moves specifically to care for her, I expected more time with her on the page. A deeper connection there could’ve added more emotional weight, especially in the epilogue.
Another personal critique: both main characters have very strained relationships with their parents. While I understand that not everyone has close family bonds, I found it hard to reconcile Noah’s upbringing with how grounded and emotionally available he is. It felt a bit idealized.
Still, the relationship between Mia and Noah is a lovely, slow-burn romance, and Jade adds warmth and depth to their story. The supporting cast was well-written and clearly sets up future connections in The Sunburnt Heart series. I’m definitely interested in picking up the next book.

prove me wrong is my first arc that i received! i was so excited to begin reading this and finished it in just a few days.
mia baxter is moving away from sydney to help her grandmother. well, that’s the reason she is telling everyone… in reality it could be to get away from the city where a partner betrayed her trust and hurt her deeply. as a result, she has sworn off love and guys. her new neighbor, noah sterling, a single dad and back up driver for v8 supercars needs her help when his daughter’s daycare cuts days. a deal is struck and feelings begin to blossom. but will mia be able to overcome her past?
to describe prove me wrong in one word, i would choose sweet. i couldn’t help but think how sweet, heartfelt, and wholesome this story is all the way through. noah’s relationship with his daughter, jade is absolutely precious. i do have to admit this is my first time reading a single parent trope novel in a while. prove me wrong did it right and gave it justice. noah and mia’s relationship is a calm, slow-burn that made me smile. their story feels genuine. it is truly unlike any sports romance i have read. the chapters about noah driving added to the plot instead of taking away and also added to the development of their relationship.
this is a story to be read and enjoyed outside in the sun or with a cup of tea. it felt like a warm hug.
i’m looking forward to reading the accompanying novels written by rebekah’s fellow australian authors.

as someone with anxiety I think the anxiety rep was really well done! there was enough info/rep to understand the condition and how it affected Mia but it didn’t overwhelm the story too much.
Mia is such a brave and realistic character. I really enjoyed reading about her mental health journey, and how she overcame her battles while also forming a loving relationship!
Noah is amazing, he’s such a hot single dad, while also being very caring and sensitive. definitely one of the perfect book boyfriends! jade is a cutie, I loved reading about her and her relationship with the mc’s, but I also enjoyed how she/her character didn’t overpower the story.

absolutely loved this book!!
it definitely spoke to me on so many different ways as someone who has been through DV in my younger years and finding it hard to trust someone again. definitely read the trigger warnings and skip the first chapter of need be.
I just loved the slow burn, golden retriever vibes and the way Noah takes it slow with mia. the bond mia & jade have is so cute too.
definitely recommend

Oh- the YEARNING. Man, this book is full of the classic YEARN.
While I wish more of the back story of the characters were explained- Noah and Mia seemed to have a LOT of character growth.
Jade is absolutely adorable, and even though they didn't announce the second baby name- I bet we can speculate what it is!!
This was my first book by this author and I really liked the reading style! Would recommend to anyone who wants more of a yearning closed door romance.

This story is set in a beautiful small town in autumn and that was enough to make me fall in love with it! Love those vibes!!
There is a SA in the prologue but it helps you understand what the FMC is going through throughout the book and why she reacts to things the way she does.
Mia escapes an abusive relationship.
Moves in with her gran to help her with things since she was diagnosed with arthritis and is having trouble with day to day life. As soon as she arrives she notices her grans new neighbor a beautiful blonde man with green eyes who has an equally beautiful little girl.
Noah our MMC is a single dad who races cars and is a mechanic he is so sweet and automatically the best father to his adorable baby girl Jade!
Noah is the best he is so considerate of Mia’s feelings and he is always trying to make sure she is comfortable around him and this is before he even knows what she went through.
And man after he finds out he is even more nurturing and understanding this man needs to be protected at all costs!
The story was so good that it kept me addicted from the start. I always love when you have such a strong story with strong characters all around that you fall in love with all the side characters too!

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to read your amazing book Bek, I had the privilege to beta read this book. Omg it didn't disappoint at all. Thought-out reading this I was updating Bek on it and telling her how much I enjoyed reading it and I can say that this book was read within 24hrs that is how hooked I was wanting to know what happened next. It truly was hard to put down, and I'm absolutely still thinking about this book so much.
This book was amazing from start to finish, I felt so many emotions reading this book from heartache that showed raw emotions to giggling at things throughout the whole book.
My heart ached for Mia and Noah's past and what happened to both these amazing characters.
I'm so very glad they both got their happy ending as they both deserved to be loved so much.

This was good, but the writing in it felt off at times. The name “twinkle fingers” felt overused. There was some dialogue that felt off, like no one would say and many times the descriptions of simple things were overdone. Also, what are apple eyes? I felt like I had no idea what I was reading and it said it so many times.
The story line was great and it was a great romance story. Don’t let my opinions of the writing preferences that I have keep you from reading this book.

This is my first ARC review and I’m really thankful to the author and talesandteacupspr for the opportunity.
If I had to describe this book in a single feeling, it would be like being wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket. Both main characters Noah and Mia, have experienced deep trauma, and they carry their anxiety, guilt, and emotional scars. I truly appreciated how the book handled the aftermath of trauma in a real and thoughtful way. What stood out to me most was how Noah and Mia recognized each other’s trauma and instead of trying to fix each other, they gave space and time to heal and open up in their own way. If I had to describe this book in a single feeling, it would be like being wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket. Both main characters Noah and Mia, have experienced deep trauma, and they carry their anxiety, guilt, and emotional scars. I truly appreciated how the book handled the aftermath of trauma in a real and thoughtful way. What stood out to me most was how Noah and Mia recognized each other’s trauma and instead of trying to fix each other, they gave space and time to heal and open up in their own way. Their bond was beautiful to witness and not to forget our little Jade who is absolutely adorable, and the growing connection between her and Mia was delightful to read.

ARC Review: Oh my gosh, I cannot say how much I love this book enough! I don’t normally like slow burns, but this one is top notch. It is beautifully written, emotionally pulls on your heart, and I was hooked from the start. This book does touch on some heavy topics that might trigger some, but it is a beautiful story about love and healing. I highly recommend

I had the privilege of being an arc reader for "Prove me wrong by Rebekah Bertram".

I'll be honest I started reading this at 10pm on my way home after work.
The prologue is very bold to start on. Nothing wrong with it, but for some reason my mind refused to latch onto this, probably cause I was exhausted or maybe the "authors note" I read prior to the opening page..who knows..
I don't know how I feel about Mia and Noah's almost insta love. Girl just got out of a DV relationship and already pinning for the man next door. I understand abused people view love differently and come to terms with their ex DV partner in different ways but it kinda felt icky that DV was used almost as an excuse to find a new beau.
What i dont understand is you've got 20% left of the story, Noah and Mia are torn about and there seems to be no resolution. Instead it focuses on Mia and her brother, Sinnett.
The last 20% between Mia and Sinnett, seemed quite repeative that I started to skim over sentences.
For some reason the dialogue reminded me of therapy talk. Either the author is currently in sessions or is a professional, not my business either way, but thats how I saw the dialogue every time I read it.
I wish Rebecca Bertram best of luck with her writing career, but she isnt an author for me.

First of all, I would like to thank Rebekah Bertram and talesandteacupspr for the gracious opportunity of being an arc reader for this book! When I saw a single dad romance, I immediately wanted to read it because those types of romance books are some of my favorite guilty pleasures.
Let me tell you that this book was everything! Noah and Mia were absolutely meant for each other. The way they both dealt with difficult times in their lives and managed to find peace in each other, was just so beautiful to read. I read this book in one day as I kept loving all of their interactions and wanting to see how they both ended up. Don’t get me started on little Jade. She stole my heart and I absolutely loved seeing her have such a strong, healthy and happy bond with both Noah and Mia as well as friends of theirs. Noah and Jade had the cutest daddy/daughter relationship and Mia was just the missing piece they all needed.
I absolutely loved the anxiety representation and the trauma bonding that was portrayed in this book. I felt like it was done in such a healthy way that any reader who does suffer from things that happened in this book, that they can find peace and comfort knowing they aren’t alone. My first book by Rebekah Bertram and probably won't be the last! This book was so good. I was hooked from the beginning and did not want to put it down.
I have not read a closed door romance in years but this book was perfect without the spice. The plot was so well written that it did not need it.
Noah is one of those men every girl dreams of. He was literally perfect in everyway and he is the best daddy to Jade. Seeing how much he love her and gave up to raise his daughter made my heart melt. She wasn't planned but she became his whole plan. Being a single parent is extremely hard and I love that he would chose her again and again. He deals with his own grief and anxiety while making sure Jade has everything he could possibly give her.
Mia has been severely broken by her ex and the overwhelming weight of trying not to disappoint her parents. She struggles with anxiety and the constant fear that people, especially men, will always hurt and use her. She has so much love and brightness to give but she can't see that for herself due to her traumatic past. She hides all of her faults and fears.
I enjoy a good slow burn and this is very slow burn. When I say slow burn, I mean it. Mia has severe trust issues and this book highlights that. She has to learn to trust Noah so the steps to their romance is very slow growing but it works and makes the book all that more special. I think this book could be a good tool to people on a healing journey from SA.
I am so glad they both got their happy ending and learned to love again because Noah and Mia deserve the world.

The way this book had me glued to my kindle..it had no right being this amazing! PROVE ME WRONG that this isn’t a 5⭐️! I absolutely lovedddd this story! Noah Sterling is my new favorite book husband😍🥵And Mia is such an amazing strong character. The story was adorable, I loved the writing and the way it flowed so well. I loved all the side characters so much. The anxiety rep was really well done as well.

I loved Mia. She’s been through a lot and is just trying to rebuild in her own way, on her own terms and try to rebuild and figure out how to trust again. And then there’s Noah—single dad, patient, kind, and honestly just the right kind of steady. The way he shows up for Mia without trying to fix her? Loved it - but also just how they show up for other.
It’s a slow burn, full of those softer moments that build real emotional connection. The romance doesn’t rush, which I actually liked because given what has happened in their lives it makes it seem more authentic and realistic. The small-town setting gives it that cozy, close feel.

As someone who was a childhood victim of SA, I deeply understood many of the struggles Mia/Grey faces. Both Noah and Mia carry heavy, traumatic pasts, and it takes time for them to open up to one another. The patience and understanding they show is the kind that only someone who’s truly been there can give.
Toward the end, I found myself screaming at Mia to come to her senses—but at the same time, I completely understood how overwhelming trauma can be, and how easy it is to listen to the wrong voices.
I was definitely rooting for these two. This is one of the slowest burns I’ve read—but that made the payoff even more powerful.

This was a single man/nanny romance with a focus on trauma healing. I'd say check triggers warnings before starting as this opening is very confronting. This is mentioned prior to starting and you can skip the description of it if needed. I struggled in the first 25% and was surprised by the instalove - not even instalove more instaYEARN. The FMC and MMC yearn for each other before they even really know each other. Once the relationship started to progress and we got to see more of them together it improved for me. Also the child features heavily so if you are not a fan of kids in books skip this one. I didn't mind it though and thought she was cute! I found out once I finished that this is part of an interconnected world with a bunch of other authors which sounds really interesting.

I hated Noah’s parents and I was on the fence about Mia’s but they redeemed themselves. Family and trauma play a huge part in this book. The characters are all so interesting and I would love to read the other books in this series by the other authors. Oh how the swoon just keeps coming in this book. I’m talking full on butterflies, weak in the knees, and feet kicking 🫠 The writing sucked me right in from page one! The main characters are very lovable and I really enjoyed their story. The slow burn with all the sweet tension and broken to healing feels made for a sweet and swoony and emotional read. And, I think I loved the side characters just as much 🥹

Without any spoilers.. this book was everything.
Mias recovery from being S/A and not being able to even look at a man, let alone think about one in any way.
In comes Noah & Jade.
This story had everything. I actually loved the fact it has no spice! It was so emotional.
Noah the man he is, going through his own wars. Both being there for each other but most importantly Jade.
This book did not disappoint with attention to detail! It was just the right amount that it wasn’t overload but so much you could picture it clearly in your head.
The epilogue was perfect. It lead to so many potentials on who the next book could be about!! 👀
So excited for everyone to read this!! It’s a good one! 🥺
