I really like this writer's works and his writing style, and this subject matter was new and exciting, however, he made reference to the Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America and I will never forgive such idiocy.

This book was a page turner!
I watch the Mover and Gronky show and so much of their real life topics made it into this book from military aviation to mental health strategies.
LUNA was well written and not a vapid damsel in distress; at no time did she talk about boys and there was no mention of her body or sexuality which normally plagues female characters written by men.
The story is wonderful and fantastic. The technical aspects of aviation are accessable and the sci Fi is believable and well done.
I was also impressed that the future tech didn't include a deus ex machina button to save the day.
The only gripe I had was the nod to Dave Grossman's works, which seemed out of touch considering the general relationship between the public and LEOs in the US today. However, comma, it didn't detract from the story and Dusty's character didn't reflect an officer with a killing mindset.
Short story long, Project Virtus is a book that all sci fi fans should read. 10/10

Project Virtus, by C. W. Lemoine

A non-stop thrill ride of military and sci/fi.

A mysterious object discovered in the ocean has the power to either save or destroy Earth, as nations collide over its use. Two individuals, an F-16 pilot, the other a police lieutenant, find themselves central to the heart of the shocking discoveries that will determine this world’s future.

C. W. Lemoine skillfully blends his military knowledge and police training with futuristic science, creating a highly engaging and imaginative tale, along with the philosophical and moral questions that arise when nations discover alien technology decades, if not not centuries, beyond our own.
Intelligent and thought-provoking, Project Virtus is a book I highly recommend.

A decent story but lost a star

Overall I liked the story of 2 people brought together to solve what appears to be an impossible problem.. but.
The author obviously knows about flying fast jets which is great, however the details behind every manoeuvre are much too detailed and felt like padding.
The reference to a certain Gulf by an alternate name is jarring and invoked a reaction I wasn’t expecting.. I nearly stopped reading.
The epilogue….. not good. I won’t spoil but if you do read the book, skip the epilogue.
Overall the political references were too adjacent to some current names and positions for me to willingly suspend disbelief on occasion and felt in some cases just like lazy writing.
Overall I think the main characters and overall plot deserved more and better.

CW Lemoine has done it again! His first attempt at Sci-fi is an absolute homerun. I love his books, but this one might have topped them all. CW is a fighter pilot, police officer, social media influencer, race car driver, and novelist. He poured his amazing life experiences into his books and made Project Virtus out of this world. I couldn't stop reading it. Each part of the story flowed easily into the next. It is perfectly paced with character development, plot twists, and fun action. I can't wait to see what CW creates next!!!

Secrets

The start of this book is difficult, all the pilot jock talk is confusing and to be honest a little boring but when you get past that the story takes off. Interesting characters a mystery that is snaking through the whole book and now a second mystery involving POTUS.Good character development good relationship and you got to love Walter.I hope there's a sequel because I finished this in one day

This book was hard to put down. The plot, pace, and characters are excellent. This is a fantastic foray into science fiction, and I can't wait to see what C.W. Lemoine does next in this genre. Anyone who enjoyed his Spectre and Alex Shepherd books will love Project Virtus for its expert blend of realism with the thrill of other worlds and the unknown.

Good stuff!

I enjoyed the combination of standard military and commercial aviation with the sci-fi versions. Direct storytelling and good character development made it a fun read. Nice little twist at the end to set up a sequel. Sci-fi isn't my usual genre, but I enjoyed this. Great action read!

I just couldn’t stomach another reference to “the Gulf of America.” Lemione is a fairly interesting, if macho, YouTube pilot, but I had no idea he was such a drumpfuck ass-kisser. Either that or he hasn’t considered just doing what the Harte Research Institute does and call it “the gulf.”

Really Enjoyed the Book

I really enjoyed the detail C.W. Lemoine has put into this book; it really allows for great character and story development! This book is like watching an action sci-fi movie rather than reading; I couldn't put it down!

A thoroughly engaging book from start to finish. The characters were well fleshed out and I actually cared for them (which is a rarity these days). Without giving away spoilers this is on of the best first contact style books I have read in a long time. I look forward to the sequel.

Excellent

Good story line and interesting premise makes for a great read. The character development is a little weak but that keeps the story moving forward quickly. The technical details need filling out and hopefully will be addressed in future books.
