This book made me excited to go back to school and form connections with a new group of students and families. Definitely learned a few things I want to implement this year! My only qualm was that I wish it was a bit more elementary focused. It claimed that “spark works k-12” but the only examples were from middle and high school. I also wish there were a few more actionable steps that were actually actionable…not just something to think about.

This was a book my dad sent me to read and I am so incredibly thankful he did! This school year marks my 9th year of teaching and this book offered me insight into how to approach my students that changed how I have gone into this school year and how I approach each and every student that I interact with! The research backed ideas from this book have helped me master my craft and ignite the spark in myself, my students and their families, and my colleagues!
