I was really rooting for myself to enjoy this second part of the duet. I still like the characters, but the repetition just got to me. Because of this, the story progressed slowly, and it felt like we were trudging through mud to keep moving. Kadence surprised me by forgiving Blaize so easily. Saving her life and *releases* were all she needed to get over things. They didn't even spend that much time together to reconcile until the second half of the story because Blaize was too focused on chasing empty leads.
I did enjoy Blaize and Hunter sharing Kadence. And I still love all the bisexual characters sprinkled throughout the side characters.
Though this wasn't quite what I hoped it would be, I appreciate the sapphic and bisexual representation.
Since reading the first book I can say this one also deserves 5 stars. There wasn’t nearly as much repetitive speaking as the first book. I enjoyed seeing the relationship actually grow between the two fmc. I was under the impression between the first & second book that hunter would join the couple possibly becoming a poly couple or just hunter and blaize sharing Kadence in a relationship. I just felt that hunter and Kadence had a strong bond and their chemistry was definitely there. I’m looking forward to hunters story, but I’d still like to see where her relationship with Kadence could have gone.
This was definitely a different story! Touches on depression, suicide, murder and all kinds of kinks. I enjoyed it. It was gripping and cringey at the same time, but also had some good spicy scenes.
I will definitely be reading Hunter's story. It sounds intense!
the first 30% of this book had 5 star material but then the rest of it is like filler and sex until about 88% and then we have a really rushed ending 😔
