I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good introduction to Michigan, and written vividly and yet informatve.

The book begins with a quick overview of Michigan's state animals and plants. The first chapter is a general overview of the state including climate, geography and wildlife. The second chapter describes Michigan's history. Who lives in Michigan is outlined in the third chapter and the fourth details how the government works. The final chapter talks about Michigan's industries and includes a cherry pie recipe. Color pictures and old black and white photographs fill the pages. The state song and a few maps are also included. Overall, this is a solid purchase for students conducting state research. This book is solidly built with reinforced library binding. The 79 pages include a table of contents, further resources and index.
