She’s my target, my downfall, and my only salvation.

Ava
I’ve built a career out of uncovering secrets—no matter how dangerous they are. But this story?

It feels different.

A nameless source, a new drug sweeping the streets, and a trail of lies that always leads to dead ends.

Something’s off.

And maybe it’s just the paranoia talking—God knows I’ve earned that—but I can’t shake the feeling that I’m not just chasing a story; I’m being hunted.

Nate
I’ve been a soldier, a ghost, and now a spy—trained to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

My orders are clear: get close to Ava Thatcher, figure out what she knows, and eliminate the threat she poses.

Simple.
Or it should’ve been.

Ava’s smart, relentless, and too damned brave for her own good. She’s the kind of woman who runs headfirst into danger, and it’s going to get her killed.

The problem?

I don’t want her dead; I want her—and that makes me the most dangerous man in her life. Because the deeper she digs, the more I’ll have to decide: betray my mission or destroy the woman who’s making me feel alive for the first time in years.

What a ride! I’m rating this 4.5 stars because it absolutely gripped me from start to finish. The drama, the romance, the tension... it was all so well done!

This book had such a fresh, compelling vibe with a storyline that kept me hooked the whole way through. The stakes were high, the secrets were juicy, and the chemistry between the main characters was chef's kiss.💋

The characters were layered and complex, and I loved how their growth felt so natural. You could really feel the emotional depth in the writing. The romance had just the right amount of slow burn and heat, and I was completely invested in their journey.

Ann Marie Davis’s writing style is addictive. She knows exactly how to build tension and pull you into the story with vibrant characters and just the right dose of angst and heart.

If you love romance with a side of secrets and emotional intensity, Exposé needs to be on your radar. This one definitely lived up to the name!! it exposed all the feelings!💕✨

I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was such an interesting read. I loved the characters and their story, they worked really well together, even though they are opposites. The story has you hooked from the get go and intrigued at every turn, there is always something going on, building the tension perfectly. The turns kept going all the way to the end, leaving me to wonder how we were going to conclude the story. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, it’s been left in such a way that I’m wondering are we still going to be following these character’s or is something else going to happen? The writing flowed really nicely and I just flew through it.

Exposé delivers a perfect mix of suspense, romance, and emotional intensity that kept my heart racing the entire time. Ava is smart, fearless, and relentless, while Nate is layered, conflicted, and dangerously compelling. Their chemistry is undeniable, filled with tension, longing, and impossible choices that made every interaction feel charged. I loved how the story balanced high-stakes danger with a slow-burn romance that felt earned and deeply emotional. The secrets, twists, and constant sense of being watched added an edge that kept me glued to the pages. Ann Marie Davis writes with confidence and control, building tension effortlessly. This was thrilling, romantic, and addictive.

What a fun ride!

Ava is dedicated to her job as an investigative journalist. Uncovering secrets and exposing bad people to the public. But when a new story falls into her lap she doesn't realize how dangerous the truth can be and the lengths some people will go to keep certain secrets hidden.

Nate is a solider through-and-through. His newest assignment, get up-close-and-personal with a certain journalist and get her to drop her current story. But as Ava digs deeper and deeper and as Nate get closer and closer to her, the line between the job and his true self get blurred and he's second guessing where his loyalties should lie.

If you're a true crime doc fan then you'll love this book. The plot was interesting and fun and I really liked the 2 MCs.

The ending... the ending took me OUT!

I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to the next one. The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing with plenty of plot twists, with added spiciness. We slowly learn about Ava and Nate's backstories, the reason for Ava's paranoia, and Nate's undiscovered truths.

Ann-Marie has you hooked from the beginning with this intriguing thriller-romance. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Well thought out story line with a good plot & characters. Lots of action & suspense. About halfway through, it turned from a suspense to reading more like an erotic novel. Very graphic sex scenes with nothing left to the imagination. The story would have “sold” without that.

As an ARC reader, I finished it to review it but it’s not the type of book I would buy to read. Just personal preference.

An investigative journalist and a spy brought together upon a case that shouldn’t be touched. However both of them have different purposes. Ava? Digging up the truth and exposing it to the public. Nate? Prevent Ava from digging up more than she should have by any means necessary. The more the truth surfaces, the more complicated it gets. Unexplained coincidence, or unreliable source doesn’t make Ava’s stop because her instinct never lies.

The story deserves an applause. I enjoyed following the case until the end. It’s a book that I would say I will look forward to for the sequel because there’s definitely more things left unanswered and I was left curious about it. However, I do feel like the synopsis doesn’t do justice to the book. The written synopsis gives the cliche romance book vibes. It feels a bit downgraded but thankfully the story was better than I expected. How the story and crime unfold was nicely written and does not feel rushed to me. And any explanations were presented smoothly through conversation instead of hoping solely for inner monologue makes it easily followed by the reader. Although I do wish for a simple glossary for every short forms presented in the story because as a not English or American native speaker, I am not well versed for any terms use except the famous one.

Romance wise, it was just nice. It was an insta-attraction especially for Ava. Nate of course fell for Ava, but it doesn’t show much because he is strictly professional until he’s at the limit. Personally, I’m not a fan of insta love but it was okay since the romance presented here as the 2nd genre. I like it when the story doesn’t show the characters lusting too much (like really a lot) on each other and focus on their purposes as they should when working. I would say the balance between the crime mystery and romance was just nice. If you are a romance reader and want to slowly get to know crime books, this can be your starter pack.

Tropes & Vibes: He falls first, maybe enemies to lovers, love triangle, and allll the spy vs. journalist tension you could want.
Trigger Warnings: Murder, drugs

Review
If you love high-stakes tension, slow-burn romance, and a dash of danger, this book is so your next read. Ava is a fiercely determined (and maybe just a little paranoid) journalist hunting for her next big scoop. But in her relentless pursuit of the truth, she stumbles into something far more dangerous than she expected—something no one wants her to uncover.

Enter Nate: a brooding CIA operative with a single, clear mission—keep Ava from getting too close to the truth... or eliminate her if she does. Disguised as a plumber (yes, really), he worms his way into her life, all while walking the razor-thin line between duty and desire.

But when their paths intertwine and emotions start to get in the way, everything spirals. Loyalties blur, trust is shattered, and the consequences? Let’s just say neither of them will ever be the same.

Told in multiple POVs, this story hooks you fast and doesn’t let go. The pacing is sharp, the tension is real, and the chemistry? Subtle, but simmering. I totally relate to Ava—her need to dig for the full picture, no matter the risks, had me rooting for her the whole way.

My only complaint? The ending. It leaned a bit too predictable for my taste, and I really wish these characters got more of the recognition (and peace!) they deserved. Still, it was a wild ride—one that left me thinking about it long after I turned the last page.

You have Ava, an investigative journalist- which is insanely cool- and Nate, an ex marine corp turned spy. What does that equal? An intriguing story 🕵🏻‍♀️🕵🏻. Honourable mention to the author comparing the MMC Nate to Henry Cavill as if I don’t visualize ALL my MMC’s as that beautiful man 😅 I’m glad is a series because I have questions that need some answers!!

Ann-Maire books are amazing. This book took you on a journey. If you love a good thriller that has a slow burn that leaves you wondering what will happen next this book is for you. Ava gets a mysterious message about a story she is wanting to write. Nate is a government enforcer who trying to find out what she knows and to stop her story. This book had you wondering what will happen next. The end made me happy

Expose by Ann-Marie Davis is a rollercoaster of secrets, lies, and unexpected truths. From the very first chapter, the tension grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Davis masterfully weaves suspense with emotion, creating characters that feel both flawed and real.

The pacing was strong, the plot twists landed, and the themes of betrayal and redemption were well explored. My only reason for holding back the fifth star? A few moments felt slightly rushed toward the end — I wanted just a bit more depth in the resolution.

Still, it’s a powerful, engaging read that keeps you turning the pages late into the night. Highly recommend for fans of character-driven thrillers with emotional depth.

This was my first book by this author, but it won't be my last. Exposé is a well paced romantic thriller with well written believable characters and an engaging plot.

Written as a dual POV I felt that we could really get to know both our main characters and understand their motives and behaviour.

I think this was a strong start to a series and look forward to seeing what comes next.

Exposé was excellent from start to finish. I love a thriller that keeps you on your toes until the end. I also did not expect the spicy spice in the book. It was quite the surprise.

Ava is such a tenacious and driven FMC. I loved her commitment to finding the root of the story. Nate is darling but also incredibly frustrating at times.

My only criticism is what happens with Liam? It just seemed to drop off.

⭐️ 4.3/5

It started off slow and ended on a bit of a cliché, but in true Ann-Marie Davis fashion, this story had lots of twists & turns & dark themes! I enjoyed the strong & intelligent FMC and badass, but soft (only for her) MMC dynamic. I'm excited for the next book in the series and to see if more secrets are uncovered!! **I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was so different from my normal reads and I loved it! It grabbed my attention right away and I couldn’t stop thinking about it between my reading sessions. I HAD to know what was going to happen.

I loved that there was so much going on, on the outside with some romance on the inside. It was the perfect combo to keep my interest.

Both man characters were badass in their own way and I loved the relationship Nate and Ava formed throughout the story.

“Ava could run, but she couldn’t hide.
Not from me.
Not now.”

Overall I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for book two!

I really liked this book – it pulled me in from the start and was hard to put down. The story was interesting, with just enough mystery and emotion to keep me hooked all the way through. It had a good flow and didn’t drag at any point, which I really appreciated.

There are still some things we don’t know yet, but I’m pretty sure that’s because they’ll come up in the next part. It actually made me more curious and excited to keep reading and see where the story goes.

If I had to point out one thing that bugged me a little, it’s that the main character was a bit too trusting, especially given her job. I kind of expected her to be more careful or suspicious in certain moments. But honestly, it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t ruin the experience for me.

Overall, it was a great read – fun, gripping, and with characters I want to spend more time with. Can’t wait for the next part!

This was my first time reading this author and I’ll definitely be continuing this series when the next books come out. There were lots of twists and turns and the unraveling of the story kept me guessing throughout. It’s labeled as enemies to lovers and, while I wouldn’t exactly agree with that being one of the tropes, I enjoyed the romance aspect just as much as the thriller. The author kept me both entertained and interested, even if the ending was a bit cliché.

Thank you to BookSirens and Ann-Marie Davis for a free arc in exchange for my honest review.

.
Spannende Handlung

Expose by Ann-Marie Davis is gripping and intense read that is expertly crafter, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
I have been a fan of Ann-Marie's work for a long time now, her writing style is both engaging and evocative, painting a vivid picture.
This story revolves around Ava, a dogged journalist, who strives to find the truth, Nate, who we meet first and have been tasked in infiltrating Ava's life and finding out what she knows.
This is a different read from the previous Ann-Marie books I have read but just as amazing! This is a fast-paced thriller with plenty of unexpected plot twists that add a layer of suspense that make the book hard to put down.
The complex web of secrets that Ava begins to uncover is far bigger than both her and Nate ever imagined. Nate starts to uncover truths about his past that make him start to question what it is he is really doing. Unfortunately this comes too late and Ava's paranoia and the things she uncovers starts to come between them.
I really enjoyed the character development. Each character is very carefully thought out, with their own unique motivations and backstories.
This adds to the narrative, making us as readers, feel a connection to the characters.
Overall, I found Expose to be a compelling read, one that explores different themes, and has an almost political twist. Ann-Marie has definitely created a thought-provoking read, making it a must-read for fans of thriller romance. If you are looking for a book that will keep you hooked until the very last page, Expose is definitely worth picking up.

I always get wrapped up in hottie undercover agents. Enjoyed the background of Nate’s life and his need for revenge. Avia has a great spicy attitude that is what makes her so attractive! This wasn’t just an investigation there was so much more being uncovered. Definitely will be reading the next book in the series!

This story had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I was dying to know more and what happens next at the end of every single chapter! There were so many times I was so mad that I had to take a break from reading and do adult things because again, I wanted and needed more! Lol.

Ava and Nate....when you first get to see these two you start off feeling a certain way and then as the story progresses, everything changes. And then changed again. I had this weird idea but I was wrong. The twists and turns are amazing and I just loved everything about this story.

Buuuuut now I want to see them in the future again. I want to see how this story unfolds...5 or 10 years down the road. Ugh I'm in love with them!!!

Ann Marie Davis is absolutely brilliant! Expose’ deserves a 10: it’s that awesome!! Edge of my seat suspense, Ava is the quintessential journalist who follows her instincts regardless of the danger, and Nate is the non threatening good guy who is hiding too much. Ava and Nate’s chemistry is so real, but their backgrounds and secrets have the potential to destroy everything! I love the pacing, the passion, and the daring that keeps my brain hopping and guessing how this couple could have a relationship. There’s mystery, betrayal, tragedy, and plenty of riddles mixed with great characters and an amazing story!! LOVED IT!!!

OH WOW this was a great book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense and insane. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted and I was hooked. Ava and Nate were emotional and the chemistry between them were spicy hot and the physical tension was intense like a rollercoaster ride. They couldn’t fight the temptation any longer as the sparks had ignited the passion and desire in their soul and heart had melted as they touch each other in this moment. Love was in the air of their spirit for them in being soulmates forever.

I definitely recommend this book and you won’t regret reading or be disappointed.

Having never read any of Ann-Marie's books before i wasn't sure what to expect, but I must say she is a brilliant writer. Ava loves investigating almost anything and once she latches on its hard to stop her. But this new story is different and she just doesn't like giving up. Nate works undercover and his new assignment is to become part of Ava life. This is one of those stories that twists and turns and has both characters and reader questioning everything. This story just pulls you in and with each page turn you just have to keep reading. I hope to read more of the authors work and totally recommend this book

Nothing, and I mean nothing, could have prepared me for this book. Wow! Ava was on a mission, and I loved how she went all in for the truth. I could feel her passion. Nate was so mouth-watering. He had a job but failed at it because he fell for the girl he was supposed to stop. Their connection was truly off the charts. From start to finish, I was invested. Then that ending I just sat there saying out loud did that really just happen. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Girl this was a fantastic book!

Exposé made me think this story was going in one direction. It's labeled a conspiracy thriller romance. And that is What I got. A story about Ava Thatcher, a reporter, making enemies with some very dangerous people. They hire Nate as the enemy tasked with getting rid of her, but he can't because… well, what kind of story would this be if it was that easy?

Ann-Marie Davis has moved her way into my instant buying author category.
Ava is an investigative journalist who just cracked a story that powerful people have no interest in getting out. Nate was put in her life to start her away... He soon realizes that won't be as easy as he thought it would.
The plot and mystery are second to none. The spice is **chefs kiss**
The only question left is.. when are we hett6 book 2?
