I had one keep her safe. But instead of doing my duty, I’d nearly lost her more than once.
In my defense, what does the Horseman War know about stopping the apocalypse? Nothing. My goal has always been to fight and raze my enemies to the ground. Merri wasn’t an enemy, though she felt like one. In a matter of weeks she’s found her way through each and every one of my defenses. In fact, she’s done that to us all.
Sinclair
Malice
Grimsby
And me, Chaos.
My name has never felt more fitting, because chaos is exactly what she’s unleashed within me. These days I can hardly tell if I’m coming or going. Everything I thought I knew has been turned on its head because of her.
Forced to abandon our home, we’re isolated together on a remote island in France. Off the grid. Hidden from detection. Ever closer to Doomsday, we have to get our job done and put a child in her before Lucifer finds her. So far no baby, but he hasn’t found us either. The others act like that’s some sort of victory, but I didn’t get this far resting on my laurels. It’s only a matter of time before he and his Princes make their play. We simply have to keep one step ahead of them if we want to win.
Because despite what you might think, the end of the world isn’t a game to me. Not when Merri’s life is on the line.

The Mate Apocalypse is a spicy paranormal series featuring morally gray heroes whose methods of protection aren't always above board. Not that you can expect much honor from a celibate recluse, an incubus rockstar, the original shadow daddy, and a grumpy ex-Spartan. They are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, after all.

✅ Multiple POVs ✅ Reverse Harem ✅ Smut ✅ Merri ✅ Brief apparitions of characters from previous series ✅ Pace ✅ Forced proximity ✅(🆗) Horsemen ✅🆗 Plot ❗️❗️Mild cliffhanger
I will keep this review short because, honestly, I don’t have much to say about this book. It was not bad, but it was not amazing either, and I feel that the plot was mostly stagnant, and that whatever relationship development happened between Merri and the horsemen remains shallow and based on their physical attraction for each other, and nothing else.
Not much happens in this book. Merri and the horsemen had to move, and are now hiding on a French remote island… and that’s about it. This book is mostly about Merri having spicy moments with each of the horsemen, then saying she can’t get close to them, and trying to resist the pull. I don’t feel that the plot progressed that much, or that anything truly new or shocking was revealed.
The romance is a slow-burn, but that’s mostly because Merri is keeping everyone at arm’s length, and the horsemen are emotionally stilted. I also feel, as I did in the first book, that most of their interactions, and the little relationship they have, mostly rely on physical attraction. I don’t feel that there is true chemistry or depth in their interactions.
Cole still intrigues me. He went from being a sweet guy to a slightly annoying one, though, but I can’t help but feel that he has a bigger role to play in this series, and he will shock us somehow in the next book.
I like the exploration of Merri’s dreamwalking abilities. It solved the problem of her not being able to touch Grim, but I can’t help but wonder why Lilith didn’t ask more questions or was more wary of it when Merri told her what she could do… Knowing that Lucifer is looking for Merri, and knowing that Merri can contact people through her dreams, it is not that much of a stretch to think that Lucifer could find a way to contact her through her dreams.
That second to last chapter had me ready to screech and throw my phone at the wall. I'm not saying I want Mr Big Bad to succeed...but...but...he's hot, you can't blame me.
I know that *if* we ever get to see them together, the payoff will be so worth it, so I'm (not so) patiently waiting, paying extra attention to all of Luc's chapters for any clues, and now I think one of my theories is more likely to be true than not. So we'll see, fingers crossed I guessed correctly.
I'm honestly dying to see if she actually does what he suggested in the next book, imagine the pain the rest of them would be in if she did, and how they'd rip the (already ending) world apart to find her. Ahh. GIVE IT TO ME PLEASE, I CRAVE CHAOS.
Ba dum tss.
No, we cannot get through a single review of this series without a Chaos joke in there somewhere, get used to it.
So, Chaos was more character development than plot, not a lot happened, but relationships sure evolved.
If you know me, then you know I'm a fan of dream magic, in this case dreamwalking. I loved seeing Merri visit the guys in their dreams, those were some of my favourite chapters (along with the Luc ones, ahem ahem).
We got a bunch of steam to go with, and I might be just a little obsessed with that one scene with Sin (you know which one) and that pillow scene near the end. But just a little (a lot).
I love the Dreamwalking for another reason too, and it involves a certain Horseman who can't touch Merri in the real world because we all know what could happen if he did.
And then when she pulled back from them, I was like NOOOO MERRI NOOO, DON'T LISTEN TO [REDACTED], GO GET YOUR FILL.
We also got some answers, more Operation Puffin goodness, Andi being a hilarious friend, Christian being pretty interesting (I'd like to know more about him, I could see a spinoff happening with the whole Hecate thing), and another Crombie cameo, what's not to love?
So far, I think this series is a bit slower with the action than the others, but that's not a bad thing, we just get to see more of the characters bonding, the Apocalypse can wait, mhm.
*Thank you to the authors for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Mate Games is a series that makes me so happy and excited. It also is a series that I will never not stop talking about. The humor, the spice, the heart and having old favs come back make me so happy!!! The full cast recording is amazing! JF Harding as Sin brings so much humor and fun to the character also I now want to have him, Remi, Kingston, and maybe Hook together. Jason Clarke brings the gravel and rough voice to Chaos. James Joseph as Mal is perfection. Learning about his past was heart breaking. Shane East gives Daddy Grim the right about of stern brunch Daddy vibes and I love it. Then the wonderful Stella Hunter is PERFECTION! Her as Merri is also heartbreaking and wonderful all in one! Finally Christian Fox as good ole Lucifer is the best villains ever.
Run don’t walk to get this book and the audiobook. Reading this series without listening to the audiobooks is a crime. Reading and listen at the same time enjoy this journey
Book 2 is here!!! This series is AMAZING in audio and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next installment! Operation PUFFIN continues!
⚠️The Content/Trigger Warning List is EXTENSIVE…so if you think of it more as a menu…I guarantee there will be something here you love 🔥
This series/universe is by far one of my all time favorites on audio. We have this amazing cast who all bring so much to these characters. They are so damn funny and grumpy and growly (and yes even emotional at times!) The spicy scenes are so hot - there is a 100 % chance you are blushing at least once listening to this book!
I mean, what could the four horsemen and a succubus possibly do to pass the time on a remote island in France…hmmmm 🤔🥵🫠🤯😏
Also, Lucifer’s “chalice” reference was *chef’s kiss
⬆️On a personal note, I have been the museum referenced in the dedication…and yeah, it’s certainly an interesting experience 🍆
✨What To Expect: 🎧EPIC Narration 🖤Paranormal Dark Romance ❤️🔥Why Choose 🧲Forced Proximity 🥀Apocalyptic Setting 🩶Morally Grey MMCs 💋She’s A Succubus 🐎Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ⛈️Grumpy AF MMCs 🔥Smoking Hot Scenes 😂All The Banter
the narration for this series is quite literally the best things I've ever listened to. the full cast is impeccable. this series is a little less action packed so far than the prior ones but we got set up for a WILD 2nd half with how this one ended. we got some more answers and more delicious spice in this one and so many laughs. that's one of my favorite things about this writing duo... the humor is ON POINT.
I am counting down the days for this series to be completed so I can get all the tea! These cliff hangers are killing me 🥲😫 bc what the French toast was that last 10%?! @megannewrites @kimloraineauthor you know how to keep your audience on their toes 👏🏼
I’m still peanut butter and jelly of Merri having these four HOT 🥵 men as her 𝑏𝑜𝑑𝑦𝑔𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑠 😏 how she has control after tasting a sample is great willpower I don’t have 🤣 Grim is definitely my end game 🤭
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spicy fun reverse harem paranormal romance! The banter will have you LOL! 😝 the spice 👀🤭🔥 don’t even get me started!
You MUST read/listen to the first book before diving into book two!
🎙️Multi-cast narration by Stella Hunter, JF Harding, Shane East, Jason Clarke, James Joseph. Featuring Christian Fox and Teddy Hamilton. - the Avengers of audiobooks 🤣
Thank you so much @mustloveaudio @megannewrites @kimloraineauthor for this ALC 🫶🏼
Holy Hell, that was hot and hilarious. The Mate Games never disappoints and seems to get better with every book. I loved loved loved the banter between Sin and…well, literally everyone else. But most of all between him and Chaos. I love all the incorporations of different lore and history. I think it’s all coming together really well and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Especially with Crombie! That cliffhanger…yall didn’t dirty like that lol. I’ll just be here, on the edge of my seat, waiting to see if the world ends or not.
I listened to the full cast audiobook. It's so ridiculously amazing that it keeps blowing my mind.
These narrators are epic. Every single one of them, and I'm already fixating on 3 of these male narrators voices.
I FREAKING LOVED THIS STORY!
This series is taking over my brain.
I can't get enough.
Really the only thing I wished was that they gave us a chapter of Chaos's POV after she did her camming session with Sin.
Seems like there would have been either some awkwardness, or jealousy, or frustration, or anger on Chaos's part. Uncertainty. Insecurities rearing their ugly head. It would have been nice to have seen them have one of their sparring sessions the next day where things are stilted, and him trying to wade through his feelings to figure out a way to get closer to her. This is all new territory for him, so that would have been a nice scene of growth. Not to mention he's not used to losing. Ever.
I didn't particularly like that they glossed right past that. It felt like a huge missed opportunity.
I loved it when he was demanding that she give in to him and they finally hook up. It was raising the temperature of the room I was in, it was so hot!!!
The dreamwalking scenes were incredible too, and also a huge turn on. Her powers keep getting more and more badass.
My heart simply bleeds for Grim and how he can't touch her, but wants to desparately. The aching is so beautifully painful. I want to hug him so badly, and tell him it will all work out. I have no idea how, but somehow. The dreamwalking scene with him was particularly heartmelting because he's never had touch. I can't imagine what that would be like, or how he has been able to deal with that for his immortal existence. He's dying inside for it. He's got this sensitive sweet heart of gold under that death personified exterior. I am so hooked on him, and routing for him big time!
I'm loving Mal more and more, too. Same for him. A huge heart under that rough, surly exterior. And also for good reason. He's so traumatized by Pan and the way his mother dashed his heart to pieces, manipulated and used him, and why his pain runs so deep. I love Meri's dynamic with Mal, and when he lets his walls down and shows some vulnerability I absolutely melt for him.
When Chaos and Grim go all Dom, I go weak at the knees as well.
Sin is so fun, and the one to fight for her needs. I loved it when he asked her for more, to be his girlfriend, and he made it clear that it's not simply lust for him.
Love all of them so much!
I even like her relationship with Christian.
She's so sweet, and sexy, and funny.
This series was exactly what I needed since I was sort of in a reading slump.
I may have to explore more of their other Mate Games series after I finish these 4 books. I'm hoping they're equally as good.
I've already started book 3 and bought book 4, because I can't stop.
Addiction? Yes.
Craving a horseman? Hell yes!
This series is so damn fun and sexy that I can't believe it's not all over social media. More people need to read this series. It's definitely in my top 10 so far.
Thank goodness I somehow found it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
There is literally nothing I love more than spending much of a read/listen laughing out loud. Chaos: The Mate Games Apocalypse Book 2 delivered laughs in spades.
Sex comas. Cam girl comment sections. Dick flash mobs. Super secret underground book club meetings. Operation PFFN.
THE. SPICE. IS. OFF. THE. SCOVILLE. SCALE.
Lucifer. The end of the world. Appearances by prior Mate Games series characters.
But Chaos didn't just deliver on laughter and heat. There were poignant moments, painful moments, angst, and some very high emotional stakes for Grimsby and Malice. For everyone really...it's intensely personal now, and the group dynamics as well as the deep feelings developing make this twisty, turny tale that much more riveting.
As for the audiobook, no single clip can do it justice. I think Meg and Kim said "let's turn this up to 11" and the narrators said "Bet!" in their delivery.
Stella Hunter's sassy, sweet, seductive Merri. JF Harding's cheeky, charming, smooth-talking Sin. Jason Clarke's gruff, grumpy, gloriously undone Chaos. The growwwwl emanating from the man is next level.
James Joseph's deeply emotional performance as Malice and Shane East's pensive and reflective performance as Death himself. I was crying, not just laughing.
Christian Fox had me rooting for our villain, strangely enough, Teddy Hamilton is perfection as always, and Lauren Landa along with some narrator cameos from past Mate Games series rounded out my most favorite audiobook performance of 2025.
Technically, Apocalypse is the last series in The Mate Games universe, and I'm not ready for it to end. Not for the authors. Not for this narrating cast. Not for readers and listeners.
But goddamn, I can hardly wait for the next installment, Malice, releasing in July 2025.
If you're reading/listening for the first time, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with War. You're welcome.
• Thoughts: Chaos is book 2 of the MateGames: Apocalypse. you must read them in order. (it's not a hardship... trust me) My hell! this series is gonna be the death of me. I have loved every word that has been written, every sentence that has been read! I can't even begin to describe the level of joy this book brought out of me, but to be fair, Sin was just as delicious. there is no choosing a favorite. you take them all, and you love them equally. We are back with our rage tag team of morally gray men, our deliciously sweet heroine, and a villain that is litterally Lucifer. We learn more about all the men (a.k.a, everyone's new book boyfriends) watching them become more transfixed by Merri. Chaos hooked me in immediately! I was captivated, and I didn't want the book to come to an end. like I am talking, abandon all responsibilities captivating. I, for one, will wait on pins and needles ready to devour book 3. Well done, ladies!
Narrator Thoughts: Full cast Duet Narration: Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, Shane East, JF Harding, James Joseph, ft: Christian Fox, Teddy Hamilton, and Lauren Landa •Speed: 1.5x Oh my gosh!!!!! it was awesome!!! I have no words. They all nailed it! This full cast is straight-up perfection! If you have ever been on the fence about an audio. This would be the perfect book to dive into! I highly recommend it! HIGHLY!
•Recommend: I will always encourage people to read what makes them happy. Even if I rate a book lower, if it sounds like a book, you can get behind. Read it! I am simply here stating my views and thoughts on the book. My reviews are just that, my opinions. Happy reading, friends
If the world ends, let it be while listening to Chaos. Because I’d go out smiling, blushing, and probably clutching my headphones like they were holy relics. This audiobook is absolutely unreal.
Merri is back and so are her fierce, feral mates: Sin, Chaos, Malice, and Grimsby. They’re holed up on an island, trying to hide her from Lucifer himself, unraveling loyalties, and a world spinning into madness.
What makes this series stand out isn’t just the spice … though, let’s be honest, it’s everything … it’s also the emotional weight, the razor-sharp dialogue, and the wicked humor that sneaks up when you least expect it. This story crackles with intensity and never lets up.
This whole series is pure audio gold. Stella Hunter nails every ounce of Merri’s vulnerability and sass. Jason Clarke as Chaos is raw power. JF Harding’s Sin – Cheeky perfection. Shane East and James Joseph bring the emotional grit, while Christian Fox somehow makes Lucifer impossible not to root for.
I was laughing, crying, swooning, and probably sweating too. This is no ordinary listen, it’s an experience. Every voice, every sound, every damn moment is turned up to eleven.
It’s the final series in the Mate Game universe, and I’m not ready for it to end, honestly, I think I probably never will be.
Ok, ok, more of this story has been revealed to us in this book!! We’ve learned some answers to some secrets, there have been some ah-ha moments of clarity, we finally got some legit sexytimes, I also have more questions, and I suspect more people of having nefarious intentions … but man, this was a good time!! This series has one of the best full cast narrations, ever. Ever-ever!! Every single narrator is amazing, I smiled, I laughed, I gasped, I blushed, I even got a little choked up at one point! I can’t wait for book 3 so these puzzle pieces can start falling into place. Ohhhhhh Mylanta!! There’s a pillow scene. You need to read this whole series just to get to the pillow scene. I promise. It’ll all be worth it. Ma’ams… you’re doing great work here! I can’t wait to see where you take this story!
I think the Apocalypse series is becoming my favorite Mate Games series. The banter in this book killed me. Chaos picks up right where Sin left off. Of course the cliffy from the end of that book is resolved relatively quickly, but Merri is still on edged from the experience. Lucifer is still trying to get to his wannabe baby mama (am I the only one who is really hoping that happens soon?) and the horsemen are still trying to knock her up themselves. There wasn't necessarily a whole lot new going on with the plot in this one, but that's ok. Merri learns a new skill, and we find out why using that skill is a big no no (but she gets to touch Death which is a big yes yes). The horsemen are all starting to develop true feelings for Merri, but she is resistant because she thinks she has forced them to bond with her. Overall, this is an excellent second entry in the series. It's fun, it's sad, it's tense, it's just wonderful. I can't wait for the next book!
Now that I’ve finished scraping my jaw off the floor, let me tell you about this upcoming audiobook release! I was captured from the very beginning of this audiobook. I am a sucker for a multi cast audiobook and this one has an ALL STAR cast.
For the best listening experience for The Mate Games series, please start with book 1: Sin. This book will also end on a cliffhanger, but with this level of PALPABLE tension and HOT smut it is so worth it. 🥵 This book is releasing on April 21st which leaves you plenty of time to listen to book 1!
Thank you @megannewrites, @kimloraineauthor , & @mustloveaudio for allowing me to listen to this book❤️
Tropes You’ll Love: 🔥Why Choose 🔥The Four Horseman 🔥Reverse Harem 🔥Paranormal
The story picks up with Merri and the Four Horsemen hiding on a remote island, racing to outsmart Lucifer and prevent the apocalypse. The emotional stakes, insane chemistry, fast-paced action, and hilarious moments kept me hooked. The audiobook is pure perfection, brought to life by an incredible cast: Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Shane East, Teddy Hamilton, and Christian Fox. Each narrator captured their character's passion, humor, and intensity so flawlessly that I couldn’t stop listening. If you love steamy paranormal romance with twists, heart, and unforgettable narration, you need this in your life. I’m obsessed and already counting down to the next book!
*I listened to the audiobook* Chaos picks up right where Sin ended. We didn't get much further into the Apocalypse in this one, but I still really enjoyed it. I have no idea how Mary is still trying to keep her distance from these men? I would have already folded like a lawn chair. I can't wait for the third book. The full cast narration is amazing. They work wonderfully together. And what a cast! Stella Hunter, JF Harding, Shane East, Jason Clarke, James Joseph featuring-Christian Fox and Teddy Hamilton.
This book was absolutely phenomenal. Loved how everything unfolded in this story, including the different guest appearances. The casting, as always, was perfection. Although, I did miss Jacob Morgan as Remy.
I'm definitely looking forward to the third book. I want to know all about Cole, especially after how Mary's Dream Man (Lucifer) suggested she run off to him.
I love this series! I feel like all of them keep getting better and better! Mate Games as a whole world is incredible. It has the humor that kept me laughing throughout the book and the twists/cliffhangers that I expect with a Mate Games book. It isn't as action packed as others, but there is not slacking on the spiciness of it. After that ending, I CANNOT wait for the next one!!!
Narrators: 🎙️ Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Shane East, Christian Fox, Teddy Hamilton.
Narration Style: 🎧 Full Cast.
Whispersync For Voice Ready? ✅ But of course! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Plot 💬:
Merri and the boys are on a French island hiding from the literal end of the world. Sounds relaxing, right? Wrong. Between Lucifer’s schemes, the Horsemen's emotionally loaded demon daddy moments, and some major “I think I love you but oops the world might end” drama… things get messy.
This book is chaos by name and chaos by nature. Expect secrets, breadcrumbs from previous books that finally come together soul-shattering spice, and the kind of emotional devastation that leaves you side-eyeing your Kindle like it personally betrayed you.
Oh, and totally hear for all the reappearancs of main characters of the previous books. . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Audiobook 🎧:
The Mate Games Audioverse remains undefeated. Seriously, these audios are unmatched. They are cinematic!
Stella Hunter as Merri: Stella continues to slay as Merri. She's sass, fear, grief, lust, and chaos packed into one flawless performance.
Jason Clarke as Chaos: Sir. I am unwell. Please calm down. Or don’t.
James Joseph as Malice: he brings his simmering restraint and growling hidden soft-boi energy to life so perfectly I got actual chills.
J.F. Harding as Sin? Still the flirty disaster we can’t help but love. So swoooony.
Shane East as Grim: Shane = the British menace incarnate.
Christian Fox as Lucifer: That sinful velvety smoot voice?? Criminal. Lucifer doesn’t need powers, he just needs Christian Fox to speak with a British accent.
Teddy Hamilton as Asher: Teddy pops in for some short scenes, but with HUGE impact.
We also hear Samantha Brentmoor, Laura Landra, John Hartley, and Aaron Shedlock.
Truly, it's a stacked cast and absolutely LOVED it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sizzle Scale:
Scorching: 4.5/5 🔥 — Emotional. Dirty. Destined. The scenes in Chaos aren’t just spicy, they’re narratively lethal. Chapter 20?! JFC, I ascended. I need to lie down. This might just be the hottest f*+@;$? thing to bless my headphones and kindle out of this entire series. Holyyyyy shiiiiiiiit ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bookish Bite:
Chaos is where this series hits the “oh no I’m obsessed” level. It’s messy and dark and delicious in all the right ways. Merri’s power is growing, but so is her grief. Each of the Horsemen is falling hardet, and so are we.
The group scenes are hilarious. The emotional gut punches? Devastating. The spice? Ruinous.
Also, Operation Puffin continues to be the most iconic apocalypse team name in romance history.
And that ending?? No. I do not accept. Because how dare Meg Anne and K.Loraine do this again. I am not okay. I NEED ANSWERS!
Tropes: ✔️ Reverse Harem ✔️ Soulmates + Apocalypse ✔️ Found Family ✔️ Hidden Powers ✔️ Touch Her And ⚰️ ✔️ Their own little *Book Club* ✔️ Morally Gray Horsemen x 4 ✔️ “MINE” Energy
First off, FIVE STARS!! Kim and Meg are writing geniuses, and I am grateful every day for all the goodness that comes from their creative and filthy storytelling brains. The suspense in The Mate Games: Chaos is driven by the ever-present threat of Lucifer, whose pursuit of Merri is relentless and intensifies as the story progresses. The characters are forced to relocate to a secluded French island, underscoring the sense of danger closing in around them. This constant need for everyone—good and bad—to stay one step ahead of each other kept me on the edge of my seat (ok, sofa), as the risk of Lucifer finding Merri—and potentially ending the world—looms over every decision and interaction.
A particularly suspenseful element is the urgent mission that one of the horsemen must impregnate Merri before Lucifer can. This ticking-clock scenario injects a sense of urgency into every scene, as failure means catastrophic consequences for everyone. The horsemen struggle to balance their growing feelings for Merri with the weight of their responsibility. This adds emotional tension to the story. Suspense is further amplified by the uncertainty surrounding who can be trusted. Both Lucifer and the horsemen have allies, but the extent of their support and the motives of new characters remain unclear. This ambiguity kept me guessing about potential betrayals or unexpected twists, contributing to the book’s palpable tension.
While there isn’t a “ton of action” in this book, the anticipation is maintained through deep character development and the exploration of the horsemen and Merri’s backgrounds. As more is revealed about these characters, their vulnerabilities and internal conflicts become apparent, making the outcome of their mission feel precarious. The emotional stakes are just as high as the supernatural ones, with everyone’s choices carrying significant weight for Merri’s fate and the fate of the world. With a succubus and four horsemen in close quarters, there’s a lot of chemistry and plenty opportunities for dirty times to be had by all!
With the stellar narrating cast—Stella Hunter, Shane East, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, James, Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, and Christian Fox—in my opinion, audiobook is the only way to go with this series. Kim and Meg have a gift at pairing their characters with the perfect narrators to tell their stories in this world that is The Mate Games. Whichever character he narrates, JF Harding just brings something extra, and it’s so entertaining. As Sin, he’s bringing some well-placed humor into the end of the world seriousness. Shane East is giving off serious Daddy vibes with Grimsby, and it’s delicious. Jason Clarke is Chaos personified, and JJ gives Malice layers when it doesn’t seem he should. Also, that uber-deep voice of his is heaven. Christian Fox is doing all sorts of magic with Lucifer, and Teddy Hamilton is amazing as our neighborhood hacker and activist, Archer. And our queen Stella Hunter as Merri plays off each of them seamlessly.
I’m really looking forward to the next installment!
A Wild & Steamy Ride! Another Incredible Story & Listen🎧
Chaos The Mate Games: Apocalypse, Book 2 By: Meg Anne, K. Loraine Narrated by: Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, Shane East, and featuring Teddy Hamilton, Christian Fox and Lauren Landa
Meg Anne and K. Loraine continue to blow me away with another exciting “Mate Games” novel, and this second Apocalypse book picks up right after the first book, not to be missed, book ended. Merri’s men have one duty, to keep her safe, not so easy when there is a diabolical plan to end the world as they know it and the devil has an interest in her. Chaos ,Sinclair, Malice, Grimsby, and Merri are staying on a remote island in France, hidden away from the rest of the world that is turning upside down. The men know what they need to do, but getting Merri on board is another matter, so they brainstorm to come up with plans. Merri is also looking for creative ways to feed her needs, coming up with one that she thought was safe for the one she is feeding off of, but learns it is forbidden. Chaos and Sin do not disappoint with their creative ways to feed their needs, smoking hot and extremely passionate ways. Meanwhile, Lucifer is trying to make his way in to Merri’s bed, I mean head. Lots going on in the world, who to trust, who not to is getting more difficult, and there is a lot on the line, the whole world. This is a fast moving, cleverly plotted story with non-stop drama, witty dialogue and humor, off the charts heat, and an ending that leaving you needing more. Meg Anne and K. This full castnarration is a remarkable showcase of audio artistry, featuring a phenomenal cast that includes Stella Hunter, JF Harding, Shane East, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, and Christian Fox. Stella’s portrayal of Merri beautifully blends passion and confidence, while J.F. Harding adds charm and wit to Sin. Jason Clarke perfectly embodies Chaos, and James Joseph reveals a touching side of Malice. Shane East’s resonant portrayal of Grim is truly captivating, and Christian Fox’s take on Lucifer is simply brilliant. The delightful surprise appearances of beloved narrators further elevate this already magical experience. This vibrant ensemble truly breathes life into the narrative, making it an absolute must-listen!
If this is what chaos is like in the Mate Games world, count me in! “Chaos” is a thrilling, steamy and action packed second book in the series that had me on the edge of my seat as I listened.
Picking up right where the last book left off, Merri and the four horsemen are on an isolated island trying to save the world from the next apocalypse. The task to impregnate Merri with a child before Lucifer finds her. They have to be one step ahead of him at all times to ensure that doomsday doesn’t happen. But as they all spend time together, it becomes clear that saving Merri’s life is the number one priority over saving the world.
The way I am hooked on this series. From the first chapter until the end, I was in a complete hold and could not stop listening. Meg Anne and Kim Loraine have crafted such an amazing world that I will never get enough of. Merri being a succubus adds a different paranormal twist that I loved. Each of the four horsemen bring something different to the story and each of them are perfect. I love how each of them try and not to get attached to Merri but they see her for who she really is and can’t help it. The passion and chemistry is undeniable and sizzling hot. The steamy scenes were absolutely delicious and some of my favorites that they have written. The storyline is fast paced and has some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I have my suspicions on some characters and I can’t wait to see if I’m right or not.
This cast is truly an all-star cast and brings it all to their narration. Stella Hunter, Shane East, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton and Christian Fox are all amazing at their narrations. Each brings the passion, action and chemistry of each character to life perfectly and I can’t wait for the next two books.
** Audio Review ** Holy hell! What a ride! Chaos by K. Loraine and Meg Anne was a witty, seductive paranormal why choose romance that had me kicking my feet and on the edge of my seat from start to finish. This is book two in the Mate Games: Apocalypse Series, and these ladies continue to DELIVER bringing the HEAT, hilarious banter, and jaw dropping twists and turns that will once again leave you longing and desperately needing more.
This audiobook is performed in multicast duet, and is truly a masterful work of audio art! Stella Hunter’s performance of Merri is passionate and playful exuding an alluring confidence. J.F. Harding continues to make me snicker as Sin with his quirky comments and smooth seduction. Jason Clarke’s deep, rumbly tone portrayed Chaos’ enticing and stoic demeanor while James Joseph’s layered performance unveiled a more vulnerable side of Malice. Shane East added conviction and longing in his performance of Grim that made my heart ache for him. Christian Fox dazzles as Lucifer! Plus, can we talk about all the surprise cameos from some of my favorite narrators who voice so many beloved Mate Games characters! I am obsessed with this audio!
Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a paranormal why choose romance with a strong fierce succubus, her four attentive and tempting horsemen, sex comas, cam girl text comment banter, horsemen book club, dream walking, dick flash mobs, voyeurism, suspenseful tension, longing, role play fun, all your fave mate games characters, painting dates, deception, truths revealed, solo steam, and another cliffhanger ending that will make you gasp, then you will love book 2 in the Mate Games Apocalypse. Can’t wait for Malice!
Let me say it louder for the people at the back: MEG & KIM HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. This series just keeps levelling up.
And this one? It’s deep. We’re diving headfirst into backstories—especially for Malice and Grimsby—and it hurts in the best possible way. James Joseph had me in tears. Shane East, our broody Brit legend, wrecked me. The emotional weight they both brought? Next level. And watching these two finally start to face their feelings for Merri? Bloody glorious. The possessiveness is jumping off the charts and I am here for every second of it.
But it’s not just about the feelings—there’s tension everywhere. Between the guys. With Merri. Around every bloody corner. The end of the world is literally creeping closer, and the pressure is sky-high. The lads are finally starting to realise this mission of “protect the girl and get her pregnant to stop Lucifer & save the species” isn’t as clear cut as they thought. The connection’s real, the stakes are personal, and they’re in way deeper than they ever expected.
And then there’s JF Harding as Sinclair—cheeky king of sass with the best lines—and Jason Clarke, bringing his signature grump in the best possible way. Teddy and Christian brought all the suspense and the banter, keeping the energy high and the stakes sharp. And the cameos? Absolute gold. It felt like catching up with old mates and made my little fangirl heart do somersaults.
I couldn’t stop listening. Didn’t want to. And now I’m feral for Book 3 because it’s shaping up to be action-packed in every sense of the word.
This cast? Your ears will thank me. All. The. Stars.

📖 This was an absolute blast that I flew right through! We got to know a bit more about the guys and their past. There are quite a few secrets… some uncovered and some kept. Merri and the horsemen have all grown closer, whether they want to or not. There seem to be players closing in from all sides and I’m not sure who Merri can trust—I kind of feel like the answer is NO ONE but the horsemen! Things did heat up a bit more in this book, but I know Kim and Meg have lots more in the tank, I’m certain they’ll be keeping Merri quite busy and well fed in the next book 🤩
🎧 The audio for all of the Mate Games books are absolutely incredible! The narrator talent is the best of the best and the production is incredible! I’m always amazed by the huge cast, wide range of accents and voices, and cool additions like the sound effects in the PFFN scenes. I also love that so many narrators from previous series come back to voice characters that are still around. It really adds so much, taking this audio to a whole new level!
Things are heating up more and I didn’t think it that could be possible! No one is prepared for this conclusion and I am both terrified and so freaking excited!
The intensity in the storyline and the spice is perfect and keeps your attention on from start to finish. The characters all go through such personal conflict and revelations that work so well together while also not taking away from the main storyline itself. The spice invigorates the momentum while not taking away from the flow of the book. And the multiple times I had to pause the book to just take in all that I had heard and breathe through the emotions I felt was a regular thing. So beautifully written and so seamlessly flowing from the previous books to the present! I can’t wait to keep going and someone save me once we reach this conclusion. I don’t think I will be able to function!
As always, the cast for the audio books is spot on! You can’t get better with the choices of voices to embody these characters. The most recent ones become so loved immediately in their short time present. And to hear those originally beloved individuals we fell in love with through the series take their stand in this finale? It just makes you want to laugh and cheer and cry all at the same time! And all of that is because of the way these characters have been brought to life by the artists who put everything into these performances!
I am so excited to see what people think of this series and send out love and support to all of us as the finale begins to approach. We are not ready!
I don't understand why they change the format of the books. I don't know if it's because they have 5 books to write instead of 4. But I just don't like that. These last 2 books in this series. I don't get it and what in the world is with all the masturbation. I mean I get it, but come on all they do is masturbate. The MFC in this book totally doesn't have sex, and it she's a sucky bus who doesn't have sex, what kind of sense does that make? And she's not smart, I mean, oh my God, the other fmcs were smart or mfc. The seas were smart, they relied on the guys. That's what it was this one I don't know. I'll see how it goes on the last 3 books, but it just seems like to me. They're watering it watering down the first 2 books. It's just because maybe they have to write 5. In addition, I don't know I just these were not for me. I did not like them, which is why. I'm only giving it 2 stars and then one steamy. Seeing for the whole book, and then it doesn't happen until 68% of the book is read and all of the intermonologuing oh my Lanta, I have never skimmed one of their books before, but I have skimmed these last 2 because all of the inner monologuing It just it gets really old after a while. I mean, I get you. Wanna be, you know, write a book that actually develops the characters, but this one was ridiculous. I mean, it just was. I'm just not liking the format. They take in with these, but we'll see what it does later recall. You get your own peril.
Chaos - The Mate Games: Apocalypse Book 2 By: K Loraine & Meg Anne Narrators: Stella Hunter, Shane East, JF Harding, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, Featuring: Teddy Hamilton, Christian Fox Release day is Monday April 21st
K Loraine and Meg Anne have done it again in my honest opinion. If either of these Queens write it, I will literally devour it!
Chaos is the second book in the Mate Games: Apocalypse. I re listened to Sin right before this because I knew I would need a reminder what exactly was happening, and I am so glad I did.
Sin, Chaos, Malice, and Grim are trying to save the world from the Apocalypse. Who is the vessel this time? Merri. Merri is a succubus who feeds on the need and sexual wants for the people around her. Ultimately the Horsemen have 1 job to help save the work against the Apocalypse. Will they eventually be successful? I guess we have to wait and see. We do have 2 books left!
This listen was chocked full of smut, mystery, horsemen, and I ate it up like it was the Thanksgiving meal I needed! I consider myself a part of Merri with how much I enjoyed this book!
Of course the cast was amazing! No one brings the Mate Games to life like Stella Hunter, JF Harding, Shane East, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, and Teddy Hamilton can. I LOVED the addition of Christian Fox in this series. His voice is what I was craving today!
Thank you Kim and Meg Anne for the Advanced Listen!
