Warning: A sports romance author who loves swoon-worthy athletes, lovable heroines, and just the right amount of steam to make you blush in public. Believes every romance needs heart, heat, and a little bit of chaos.
When not typing away, she’s probably daydreaming by the beach or soaking up the sunrise with her Shiba Inu, Akira.
4.5⭐️ This was ADORABLE !!! I had never heard of this author, I am on a reading challenge and I need a book with a "punny title" for a board game, I went thru my Sports Romance ebooks and this was the first I saw. But I am not mad at all about it.
This was such a cute, easy read. It follows the story of Tristan, a famous hockey played with a secret injured knee and Faye, this romantic, new bakery owner.
After Faye receives this order to be delivered to the hockey arena, she has no idea her life is about to collide and drastically change forever.
A fake relationship is invented to hide the Snowfield Blizzards’ star hockey player Tristan “The Blade” Bane’s knee injury from the paparazzi and help grow customers for the Kiss and Crumble Bakery Cafe owned by the fiery red head Faye Williams after a very interesting and highly gossiped about first-meet between the two. Yes, it might have involved a tray of sandwiches scattered across the floor, Faye’s legs wrapped around Tristan’s waist and their lips suspiciously very close…maybe not just close…to each others. Just like their first meeting, things move fast for these two and just like most fake relationships, everything seems to be working lovely until it isn’t. A sweet and spicy hockey related novella with small town vibes and comradeship shared amongst the players that makes an easy afternoon read. The angst moments are over rather quickly and although the book isn’t very long, the characters are developed enough to get a hint as to what makes them act the way they do… more so for Tristan than for Faye. In fact, I thought the author made Faye look too good…not only did she own her own bakery which began to thrive to selling out, a whole hockey team supporting her, great employees, a great friend, she won the town’s baking contest and pie eating contest and especially she had a hot, hunky hockey player madly in love with her. Geez! There are some skips in the story where it’s easy to understand what has taken place but I did feel the author missed the opportunity to elaborate and give more depth to the storyline especially during the big angst moment and maybe I’m wrong but getting tattoos before a big game just seemed to be a “big no” in my thoughts…nice gesture but not a healthy nor comfortable idea. Still, all in all, an enjoyable read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It all started with a fall… and then a kiss between sweet baker Faye and seasoned hockey player Tristan (with a little emphasis on player). What begins as a fake relationship soon turns into something real.
Faye is a sweet yet sassy FMC, while Tristan fits the classic MMC mold—convinced that without hockey, he’s nothing. The ‘fake relationship’ trope has been done time and again, but Savan keeps you hooked, making you eager to see how the happily ever after unfolds. A past girlfriend adds just the right amount of tension to keep things interesting.
This is an enjoyable read that will leave you smiling as you watch their relationship grow—complete with a bit of spice. The reason I didn’t give it a full five stars? It took me a while to truly connect with the characters. The first few chapters didn’t reveal their depth, but as the story progressed, I became invested and was happy to be part of their journey.
What a fun read! Faye is a baker and gets one big order for sandwiches for the local hockey team. When her delivery guy is late, she decides to delivered them herself. She arrives as the team is coming out of the locker room and trips into the captain of the team. Next thing they are kissing and the press gets pictures. To have the press have something else to focus on instead of his play and injury, Tristan talks Faye into a fake relationship. To him it's a win-win. More business for the bakery because of her "relationship" and a different story for the press to focus on. From the minute she moves in, I couldn't put the book down. I loved these two and loved how this fake relationship turned into more!!!
This was such a cute sport romance. This was such a cute, easy to read romance. I loved the characters they were so easy to love, It follows the story of Tristan, a famous hockey good, we was playing with an injury to his knee. Hockey was his everything until he met Faye. Faye had opened a new bakery at 22 yrs old and was finally seeing success. After Faye receives an order to be delivered to the hockey arena, she has no idea her life is about to change forever. She fall into Tristan and they look lips with paps photographing them, Tristan sees it as a change to distract them from his injury with a fake relationship. This soon feels real and with a few little bumps along the way we see them develop into true love.
Best Pucking Kiss is a captivating hockey romance that perfectly balances lighthearted charm with emotional depth. The story follows Faye, an irresistibly bubbly and free spirited heroine, whose vibrant energy brings warmth to every scene. Her infectious enthusiasm is the perfect contrast to Tristan, the brooding hockey star with a tough past that has left him guarded and emotionally closed off.
With a mix of humour, heart, and sizzling romance, Best Pucking Kiss is a must read for fans of sports romance. The contrast between Faye’s effervescence and Tristan’s emotional walls creates an engaging dynamic that keeps the pages turning. Whether you’re in it for the hockey, the humor, or the heat, this book delivers.
Feye and Tristan meet in a very unusual way. She trips, and he catches, and a kiss ensues. From he comes up with a plan for them to fake date so his injury is not plastered all over the news and he can finish with a championship for hockey. Along the way, their feelings start to change, and they become real, but one post tears them apart, and he needs to find a way to fix it. Will he be able to? Will she let him? Emotional, sweet, with some spice, laughter, and more. Can't wait to read what this author has next.
Julia Savan delivers a steamy and humorous fake-relationship hockey romance in Best Pucking Kiss. The plot revolves around a battle-scarred hockey player whose accidental, viral kiss with a sassy redhead leads to a pretend relationship that challenges his playboy ways. Savan's witty dialogue and palpable chemistry between the leads create an engaging and spicy narrative that keeps readers hooked.
-A fun and flirty hockey romance that blends the fake dating trope with genuine emotional depth. Faye’s sassy charm meets Tristan’s brooding intensity, creating plenty of sparks. While the story takes time to reveal the characters’ true depths, their chemistry and the support of Tristan’s teammates make it a heartwarming read. Sweet, spicy, and satisfying.

This was a super sweet book. This was one I couldn't put down. I absolutely love Faye. She's so sassy. And Tristan, how he convinced her to do the "fake relationship" and everything with it was pretty good. I really enjoyed this.
This was a cute story. Short and sweet and didn’t take much to lead into the storyline. Tristan ended up being the perfect hockey boyfriend. I like how they met even though it seemed a little far fetched.

Baker Faye and hockey player Tristan “The Blade” Bane’s story is well written with a very good storyline with an ex of his that decides to tell a lie that will have to be overcome. I enjoyed seeing them get their happy ending. This is a new Author to me.
A sweet story about ‘Red’ Faye and Tristan with an epic meet cute. Plenty of humour and some surprising depth in the storyline - end of career fears, inadequacy etc. My first by this author and definitely not the last!
Faye and Tristan accidentally collide ruining her cupcake delivery. This was a context set for a very good romance story with the added the excitement of hockey play.
I liked the idea of the book but the writing was kind of everywhere. I understand there’s 250 pages, but I felt like I was getting whiplash with how fast everything happened in this book. If it was a bit longer, I think I’d absolutely love it
This is a fast paced read. Faye and Tristan fall into a fake relationship that becomes real. They move quickly in their relationship. The book has steam and emotion. Overall a quick easy read.
This book was on the shorter side, and while I’m sure I would have loved to know more about Tristan and Faye’s pasts. What little was shared about Tristan’s past was so heartbreaking. Faye’s was no where near the level of Tristan’s, but it, too, left its mark on her. Despite its length, this story was not missing out on anything! In fact, I became quickly wrapped up in Faye and Tristan’s faux romance. I loved how Tristan’s teammates not only looked out for him, but also Faye! This book hit all my sweet spots!.
