Continuing from the events of Captivated by the Alien General… Ashley Hughes is paired with the charming Prince Amun, but the latest complications on Rakesh challenge her policy of not being wooed by his charms.
This book is a captivating blend of romance and science fiction that pulls readers into an enthralling intergalactic adventure. This is book 5 in the series and the author continues to skillfully build onto the vibrant universe and fill it with intriguing alien cultures and political intrigue, making the setting as engaging as the characters. The chemistry between the main characters is palpable, and their development throughout the story is both relatable and satisfying.
I love the in introduction of new characters and world building. I hope it will spawn other series as well as help continue this series.
****spoilers til the end****
I'm not sure how I feel about Hazel and Yaryar. Idk her character enough to say if I care if they end up together. I'm all for switching it up as long as he doesn't end up with one of her people. Ain't nobody got time for extra when one has options. I'm interested in how the other ladies will act. Unlike the originals, the ladies are here for a specific purpose and know it. I absolutely can NOT do another round of untreated childhood trauma, past relationship baggage, or unnecessary aggression.
Well, well now. Uncle has been busy. He certainly had a plan. I was wondering where he found the material to clone. I also wonder how the dynamic of the pro-pures and pro-chosen is gonna work out. Especially now that the numbers match. I also wonder if they are susceptible to the original plague.
Ashley goes back and forth too much for me, especially when she knew deep down Derek wasn’t worth her time. I like how the different series have somewhat collided. A lot of new developments with Project Eve. I felt like the issue with the Council was somewhat moot because Earth already knew about aliens. I’m actually glad all the pairings haven’t exactly worked out. Kind of shakes the storyline up a bit.
I found this book a little long and drawn out. There were a lot of smaller conflicts that were resolved rather quickly versus one buildup of a main conflict.
A couple of grammatical errors. The author mixed characters up.
Book five of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒉 by Eva O’Hare, Prince Amun is inexorably drawn to Ashley, a woman who guards her heart with resolute determination. Their connection is palpable, yet Ashley remains steadfast in her resolve to keep him at arm's length, leaving Prince Amun to grapple with the ache of unrequited love. As the plot unfurls, secrets are unearthed, revealing the underlying reasons for Ashley's reluctance to embrace their undeniable bond. I have enjoyed this series from book one until book five. I would recommend to anyone who likes books with aliens.
Ashley has a secret. Amoun is willing to do whatever’s it takes to clear it up. Can their discoveries fix everything going on on Rakesh?
This was actually the longest story to date for the Brides of Rakesh, and O’Hare seems to be wanting to close out a few threads while not completely closing the series. It was fun to see Ashley and Amoun having adventures, but now I’m curious to know what’s going on with the other ladies.
If you like secret alien projects, dealing with cheating exes, and a romance between people who were friends first, this is for you.
This book was the longest in the series, and had me bored at some spots but I had to see this through LOL! I didn’t want to put this book down & not know how the series end after reading 4 out of the 5 books. I still love Rakesh & all its characters! I plan to read other installments Eva O’Hare has written that surround this universe because I love her writing style! Definitely not disappointed in any of the books, and recommend this to any girly looking for black women being adored, cherished, spoiled & given the absolute world🤎
I truly enjoyed the book. I love every one of the characters. I'm in love with Amun. Both Ashley and Amun are great together. I felt like she deserved someone who will comfort. cherish and love her. I enjoyed the many issues that kept coming up and causing problems for them. I am glad they worked it out. I don't think I need to talk about the super, hot and spicy love going on.🔥💯 Loved it!
I’ve read stores 1-5 over the weekend (yepppp didn’t get much sleep)! These stores are nothing short of AMAZING ‼️‼️‼️‼️ The only one I kind of got fed up with was IVY (eye roll). Not I guess it all worked out!! Can’t wait for the other series. I guess I’ll move on to the EVE series. Wonderful job Eva O’hare…
Great story and awesome adventures. I can't wait to see what's next for rhe women from Earth and their pairings. Now, with new women from Earth, the surprise underground and drama with Hazel, her sisters and Yahyar and Hufu's son, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
I didn’t enjoy this one. It started off good then it just dragged. I skipped pages because it didn’t seem like it would end. I just didn’t enjoy the book as much as the others.
That darn Hufu smh even from the dead he is causing trouble!! What could they possibly do with 100 genetically engineered Rakesh women. They can send them all to the moon! Maybe it will all turn out good!
This series was absolutely captivating! I found myself putting all my other reads on hold just to dive deep into this one. But real talk, didn't it seem like it wrapped up with a cliffhanger? Like, what's going to happen next? Are we getting more from this series or what?
This was just too long which was odd because there wasn’t a lot of character development. Just a lot of plot(s). This would have been a much better read if it were 200 pages shorter.
The story felt too drawn out. It’s also weird that every character was essentially matching one at a time and had a similar feel of the women hiding unnecessary parts of their lives.
