Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Must enjoy sudden trips to Paris, love poems, sparkly diamonds, and being pampered...
That’s what the headline in the newspaper reads, right next to the photo of my best friend’s brother, billionaire tycoon, Wes Carrington. His handsome, arrogant face is now plastered all over the city, with women calling him morning, noon, and night, seeking dates.
I didn’t realize my April Fools' Day joke would garner him ten thousand applicants from all over the world. He’s made it very clear that he’s not too happy with me and that I need to make it up to him. I’m not sure how to appease him, but I do know that I’m fed up with him gatecrashing my dates and ruining them.
When one woman becomes obsessed with him, he demands that I pretend to be his fake girlfriend, and in exchange, he will help me search for my long-lost father. It seems like a foolproof plan...even if it means I have to spend every spare moment with him.
Dnf ~ 35% I don’t know where to start. I liked the blurb and the premise of the book. But I’m 35% in and I doesn’t seem like I’m close to them fake dating. I also don’t like Wes. The first interaction Wes and Sabrina have in this book is him making fun of her outfit and makeup and belittling her. I hated that. A little later when Wes crashes Sabrina’s date, and the date starts to call Sabrina fat, what does Wes do? Absolutely nothing. I hated him. Like for real. I could have gotten over the first thing. Because in his mind he was „only joking“. (Which is complete bullshit). But he is just and asshole.
Edit (just remeberred something): I also hated that he just threw money at everything. A guy not going when he tells him to? Here's some money, now go away. A girl flirting with him? Here's some money, now go away. Instead of just telling her he is not interested he gives her money. For what? I don' get it. And I was only 35% in.
Hot Chemistry!! Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2025 Such a fun and interesting book that will definitely keep you hooked to it! JS Cooper always writes a juicy book with a light but refreshing storyline. Wes and Sabrina have always been attracted to each other. But he always sabotages her dates. But her revenge is so fun and crazy! In order to make it up to him she has to pretend to be his girlfriend and then as they pretend their feelings really come out and that's what I just loved how the story progressed! This book is a great summer read! I loved everything about it and JS Cooper’s books!
Well this was annoying. Potentially a good story with an edit. So many typos, etc. Some examples ( some of many) Sabrina Fillmore becomes Sabrina Filmore later in the book. Erica becomes Erika and then goes back to Erica. ‘Mourning’ when she means morning. I really hope the editor wasn’t paid much because they really didn’t do a good job. Sabrina and Erica are so immature it’s unreal. Wes is controlling and is a walking red flag with some of his behaviours. The writing is really childish in places - almost like a teenager had written some of the dialogue. So many repeated phrases on the same page - sometimes the same paragraph. Several characters say “Oh, my gosh” over and over - I started counting them and gave up after 40. Okay, maybe it could be one character’s verbal tic but when three very different characters are repeatedly “Oh, my gosh”-ing in some scenes it just doesn’t work. Just annoying and lazy. I so wanted to give up but gave it my best shot. I’ve read a couple of other JS Cooper books and I don’t remember them being this bad so I don’t know what’s happened. I can’t face another one like this - sorry.

Tropes: 💍 Fake Dating 💍 Grumpy/Sunshine 💍 Billionaire 💍 Enemies to Lovers 💍 Opposites Attract 💍 Steamy 💍 Best Friend’s Older Brother
We love a fake dating trope so we were excited to receive an ARC of Grumpy Billionaire Seeking a Wife from J.S. Cooper. Add fake dating with best friend’s older brother and an enemies to lovers dynamic and we couldn’t wait to read it. This book was a little slow to start but the relationship between Sabrina and Wes was worth the wait. We laughed out loud so many times while reading and really enjoyed their dynamic. Wes was a little rough around the edges and his arrogance was a bit off putting at times, but overall their romance was sweet, steamy, and fun to read! Check it out, especially if you enjoy a grumpy, older MMC and an FMC who is a more naive ball of sunshine.
I love JS Cooper’s books. They are lighthearted, wickedly funny and serious all at the same time. The deal with alpha males and smart women who knows how to bring their man down to earth. This book has all those qualities. It deals with family drama and unrequited love between Wes and Sabrina. They dance around each other for years thinking that nobody else knows how they are attracted to each other. Each of them hides their feelings for each other as well until Sabrina outdoes herself on one of her plots to humble the grumpy billionaire.Eric and his family are very close to each other. He is the eldest of his siblings and the CEO of the family business. He has a brother, Miles, that is in CFO of the family business and the youngest of the siblings is Erica who is best friends with Sabrina . They are finishing up with college. Their ideas and antics are priceless and hysterically funny. Wes and Miles are always finding ways to keep them out of trouble by being stalkers during their dates. Wes wants Sabrina for himself but he just has a hard time admitting it to himself and others. He thinks she is off limits because she is younger than him and best friends with his sister but his heart and his body has different ideas. This is their love story with several hiccups in the mix. I absolutely loved reading this book because it made me laugh with all the mis-steps that Sabrina and Erica take. The bonus is Sabrina and Wes love story. It is hot and cold and delicious. I would give the author and the book more than 5 stars or possible.
I laughed so much while reading this. Wes and Sabrina are hilarious throughout Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Wife.
You have young, naïve Sabrina who's been in love with her best friend's older brother Wes since high school. You have billionaire Wes who's been secretly into Sabrina, but would never do anything because she is his younger sister's best friend.
Of course, Wes is not only rich but extremely handsome and full of himself at times, so Sabrina pulls an epic prank by putting flyers around New Year which read: GRUMPY BILLIONAIRE SEEKING WIFE.
With hundreds of calls and thousands of text messages coming from women interested in Wes, Wes makes Sabrina become his live-in assistant to field the phone calls, but this is also Wes' way of getting closer to Sabrina.
Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Wife gives a dual POV between Sabrina and Wes which I loved. A funny steamy romance with no third act breakup.
Tropes: Grumpy x Sunshine Best friend's brother Fake dating Slight age gap Billionaire romance Forced proximity
I have been in my billionaire romance era and I'm so thankful I picked this one up. I loved the tropes: best friend's older brother, fake dating, and forced proximity.
The story had an interesting plot. Sabrina put up posters saying Wes was looking for a wife, along with his phone number. As a result, they decided on fake dating to solve the problem. I will say I wish we got more public dates so we could have seen their relationship grow.
I was definitely getting Lyra Parish vibes, which is exciting because I love her writing. This was my first J.S. Cooper book, but it won't be my last.
I wanted to love it. I really, truly did. I just couldn't. The tropes are all my favorite things. Best friend's brother, billionaire, fake dating, forced proximity, age gap. These sound like I would love it! I can't, honestly, say that I did. The blurb mentions Sabrina pranking Wes with a classified ad, and that doesn't happen until more than halfway through the book. Sabrina acts and speaks like a 21 year old, Gen Z, college girl and that makes perfect sense. Wes also acts like a 21 year old, Gen Z college student. That makes absolutely no sense as he is a billionaire CEO investor and is 30 years old. I could not get into his character and the dynamic with Sabrina within that premise. And the spice? Not for me. It felt like half a sentence and a climax. I would have preferred fully vague or fade-to-black over this. I love the premise, but unfortunately did not enjoy the execution.
I should have DNF'd it, but I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't.
Wes was an asshole, in my opinion. He was acting like a 5 year old kid - be mean to the girl you like to throw her off your scent. WTF was that!? I was expecting Wes in all his alphahole, grumpy glory, when Sabrina's date called her fat and was a jerk to her. I shouldn't have had high hopes considering her made fun of Sabrina and what she was wearing, to her face as the girls went out. The blurb is highly inaccurate in the depiction of what to expect. The author couldn't seem to move on from one scene to another. Ever time I thought a scene was ending, the next chapter just kept on going with it. The failed double date was too long, the girls getting ready in Wes' apartment was too long, everything was too long!! This is time wasted I'll never get back.
DNF at 12%. Wasn’t vibing with the writing style and already found the FMC and her friend a little annoying. Wes and his brother were also conversing like frat bros vs CEO and CFO so that also wasn’t appealing. Hard to power through when you’re already annoyed with the FMC and MMC. Also the dating app convo that Sabrina had was super cringe yet also a relatable for anyone who has ever used a dating app.
DNF’d at 50%.. just not jiving with the Mc’s and their “banter”.. maybe I’ll try again at a later time. 50% in and I don’t feel like the true plot has started and it’s under 300 pages..
Oooo how I fell inlove with Wes🤌🏼🥹 He was truly perfect! I devoured this book page by page and I just wanted MORE of their story🖤 Now I can't wait to read about Erica & Tyler. So if you love a really good Rom-Com then this is DEFINITELY it!!!
Seriously, what happened? This book had promise and intrigue. Now that I finished it, i’m a little disappointed. I was drawn to the storyline and was expecting something way different than what this wound up being. There were some parts that were good, like the intimate scenes for example and not really much else. I only gave this a 3 because there were pockets of good parts like conversations, touching moments and of course the sex. Overall, I had a problem with most of the characters except for Miles. Sabrina and Wes annoyed me, even Sabrina’s best friend and Wes’s sister Erica annoyed me. I didn’t like how immature Erica and Sabrina were being and how spoiled Erica acted. Wes had this weird passive aggressive aura to him that I didn’t like either. His cockiness also didn’t do it for me with back handed comments, praise about himself and so on. Then there was his obsessive part of him that got triggered every time Sabrina had a date or was talking to someone. He took it further than other books I’ve read and either strutted in front of the guy naked to stake a claim after sleeping with her, or he would forcibly remove Sabrina from the situation and pull her to the side and just slam into her, in public places! In front of people and didn’t care if he got caught or people saw. He had no shame and I don’t like that. If a guy did that to me, I would be pissed and never want to see him again. It’s embarrassing having people watch you when you’re at your most vulnerable and with a look of ecstasy. To me, that’s a private moment and the way Wes just forced her in that situation, even though she welcomed it, it didn’t sit well with me. As for Sabrina, I didn’t know what her angle was or what she wanted. One minute she’s thinking about Wes sexually, the next it’s like she can’t get away from him fast enough but yet still wants him. Honestly, that was too much and didn’t make sense. How are you going to go on about how you secretly still like him but then don’t even want to entertain the thought of him or get in a relationship with him. Aside from that, you argue and fight all the time and deny any feelings or attraction whatsoever all to get him to either stop or leave you alone even though you like him and secretly welcome the advances he does. She made no sense and was fighting her attraction and ignoring it or dismissing it, literally trying to get away from him. She didn’t think it was possible for Wes to actually have a thing for her and deep feelings. She even went so far as trying to convince herself she didn’t like him by going on dates or talking herself out of it, even going so far as pulling a prank on him that makes his life miserable. This isn’t actions of someone who likes someone, this is actions for someone who despises you. Let’s not forget how she kept manipulating him too, basically taking advantage of feelings that were very real. This vibe happened throughout the entirety of the book and never really let up until the last two chapters. Wes wasn’t much better, he didn’t express how he really felt about her until then either. During the chapters you get glimpses of it but nothing concrete and no moving forward. I think that was the biggest disappointment of all in this book. I felt like Wes and Sabrina never really moved forward or tried to see what their relationship was or meant. Sabrina was too busy trying to tamper down her feelings while Wes was manifesting his emotions for her. He wanted to get away with not saying anything because he was too busy biding his time wanting it to come naturally and to have Sabrina accept him without scaring her off with feelings and forever. Then there was the moment they realize they love each other which didn’t feel like a build to me. It was just like they woke up and found out they love each other. There was no building up of it and it just happened. How is Sabrina going to fall in love with Wes when the entire book she’s trying to get away from him! Wes I can kind of see how it happened over time but how could he go from being intrigued by her in the beginning to full on loving her by the end of the book? It doesn’t make sense, Sabrina more so than Wes. By the end of the book, I was definitely more team Wes because he was more genuine in his feelings and actions. You knew he liked her and was completely gone for her. This is when it started to get cheesy and uncomfortable. His words of endearment, way he spoke to her and the sappy thoughts he was having. Plus, the fact how he wanted Sabrina to tell him he couldn’t go out which was another weird thing for me. It didn’t bode well for him or the story which pushed the rating further down. I hope Erica’s story is better but if it’s anything like this one then all I have to think is “oh boy”. 😬
This is book one in The Billionaires Seeking Wives Club series and it is Wes and Sabrina’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Wes and Sabrina have history because they have known each other for years as she is his sister Erika’s best friend which makes her off limits but a year ago something happened between Wes and Sabrina which blew everything apart leaving Sabrina only embarrassed but also wanting to keep her distance from him and no wanting to be in any place that Wes was anytime soon. Wes and Sabrina both had feelings for each other but neither knew how the other feels and when they see each other again they both realise that they are still attracted to each other and the chemistry between them had just got stronger and when they eventually give in to what they both want it is off the charts hot and explosive between them but unfortunately Wes doesn’t do relationships or commitments and Sabrina is looking for her one true love and at one time she thought that it could have been Wes but know she needs to try and move forward with her life without him. Wes and Sabrina have had a lot of ups and downs and when she gets the crazy idea of playing a prank on his by putting a flyers and a add in the paper saying that he is seeking a wife with his phone number and then his phone starts ringing off the charts but he doesn’t understand what is happening and when he finds out that it was Sabrina he tells her that she will it things right and make it up to him and the mess she had made so she ended up being his fake fiancé which will now cause even more problems and complications in both of their lives. Wow I absolutely loved Wes and Sabrina’s story so much with all it’s emotional, funny, smart, sassy and dirty talk that will have you turning the pages to see what will happen next and also what the outcome will be for them both in the end. This book will pull you in and keep your attention throughout while you go through all the emotions, feelings and eventually a beautiful ending. Wes and Sabrina are so perfect together and for each other but it was definitely not plain sailing and they had many ups and downs and they nearly lost something so special before they eventually communicate with each other about how they feel and my heart broke with everything that Sabrina had gone through before she came out stronger the other side and I love how Sabrina and Erika support and care for each other while always having the other’s back regardless of the situation or circumstances. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by J S Cooper who is a amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and I can’t wait to read more in the future. I can’t wait to read Erika and Tyler’s story next.
I received an ARC from the author, this is my honest review.
This one had such a fun premise, a grumpy billionaire, a fake dating setup that spins wildly out of control, and a spontaneous Paris trip? I was fully prepared to fall in love. But while the setup gave exactly what I wanted on paper, the actual story didn’t fully hit the emotional notes I was hoping for.
SSabrina writes a classified ad for a wife, for her best friend’s grumpy billionaire brother Wes. It’s meant to be a silly April Fools’ joke, except it goes viral and suddenly ten thousand women are vying for a chance to marry him. Wes is furious and to fix the mess, he ropes Sabrina into pretending to be his girlfriend.
It’s got fake dating, forced proximity, best friend’s older brother (!!), and one bed energy waiting to happen. I was hoping for a slow-burn vibe with a cinnamon roll center underneath Wes’s grumpy shell…but honestly? He never quite got there for me. I love an MMC who’s all rough edges on the outside but secretly so down bad for the heroine, and Wes just didn’t give that. He felt more mean and bit passive agressive than angsty, and not in the fun emotionally-repressed way. Just kinda rude. He also called himself an 'alpha male', which, gross.
Sabrina, on the other hand, is full of energy and banter, but her voice and her dynamic with her best friend Erica (Wes’s younger sister) felt really young to me. There was a lot of over-the-top, chaotic energy that didn’t land, and at times it felt like I was dropped into high school drama, not adult lives (even though they are in college). Maybe that’s just a me thing (I’ll be honest, high school is a place I never want to revisit), but it made it hard to stay connected to the story.
That said, this isn’t a bad book. The pacing is fast, the premise is cute, and there were definitely moments that made me smile. I just wanted more emotional depth and maturity from both leads, I guess that's my scorpio energy coming out...
If you’re in the mood for something light and high on rom-com shenanigans, this might be a fun escape. But if you’re looking for a grumpy MMC with a soft center and a heroine who feels emotionally grounded, this one may leave you wanting more.
Tropes: - Grumpy Billionaire - Fake Dating - Best Friend’s Brother - Forced Proximity - One Bed - Secret Family Past - April Fools’ Joke Gone very wrong
A Must Read For Anyone Who Loves A Fake Dating Best Friend's Brother Romance!!
So what can you expect: Miscommunication, forbidden/off-limits romance, chemistry/attraction, spice, broody/grumpy billionaire mmc, strong but naïve fmc, banter, fake relationships, found family vibes, pranks, fun side characters, and a few ups and downs to finding a HEA.
This one has some fun & spicy banter between the main characters along with some miscommunication on both sides. I loved that Sabrina was very much dependent on herself and not on her friendship with Erica and her wealthy family. She never takes the easy way out and works hard to help her mother who has struggled as a single parent. Now she definitely has some daddy issues that make her stubborn and naïve at times but she's loyal as all can be. With one summer night mishap with her best friend's older brother, Wes causes a rift between them and a huge misunderstanding as well. With an embarrassing moment and his not so subtle way of dealing with being propositioned a V-card loss has led poor Sabrina to become a bit of a brat to Wes. One moment Wes is flirting with her then pushing for more leaving her questioning his motives and is cocky demeanor has her planning a prank on the self proclaimed single bachelor billionaire, to see how he handles all the women in NYC wanting a grumpy billionaire as a husband. Unfortunately for her things will quickly take a turn she's not prepared for and she even questions how real Wes can be after this prank.
Wes has put his foot in his mouth numerous times with his little sister's best friend for the last year or so and even with him trying to deny his attraction can't seem to leave Sabrina alone. He crashes her dates, decides he's ready to take her V-card but definitely isn't wanting a relationship or so he says. He basically has had pent-up feelings and now needs to play the long game to win Sabrina over even after her disastrous prank goes awry. Can he finally get his girl or will he end up single once again? Only he's not ready to let her go this time.
Highly recommend this one especially if you want a fun steamy little forbidden romance. It has some seriously spicy moments and a few twists to them finding a HEA.
I wanted to love this book. I really, truly did. The tropes are everything I usually adore…fake dating, grumpy billionaire, best friend’s brother, forced proximity. it should’ve been perfect. But something just didn’t click for me, and that makes me so disappointed.
Let’s start with the good because there were things I liked. The premise is fun, and the banter between Sabrina and Wes had moments that made me smile. I liked the idea of them being thrown together because of a joke gone wrong, and the fake dating setup had potential. There were scenes where their chemistry peeked through, and I found myself rooting for them…but only in small bursts.
Now, the issues. Sabrina and her best friend, Erica, came across as incredibly immature. Some of their conversations and decisions felt more like something out of a high school drama than a romance between adults. I struggled to connect with Sabrina because of this, and it made certain scenes hard to take seriously.
Then there’s Wes. A grumpy billionaire? Sign me up! Except… he didn’t feel grumpy. He just felt rude. There’s a difference between being a brooding, closed off hero and just being plain mean, and unfortunately, Wes leaned too far into the latter for me. The way he treated Sabrina at times didn’t make me swoon…it made me frustrated. A good grump has a soft side, but I didn’t feel like Wes showed enough of that to balance out his harshness.
The fake dating trope is one of my favorites, but here, it didn’t have the tension or the slow burn I was hoping for. Some of the conflicts felt forced, and I wish there had been more genuine emotional moments between them to make their relationship believable.
All that said, this wasn’t a "bad" book…it just wasn’t the one for me. If you love over the top humor and don’t mind a hero who’s more abrasive than charming, you might enjoy this more than I did. I really wish I could have loved it, but in the end, it was just…okay.
(I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.)
𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦: Billionaire romance, fake dating, enemies to lovers, age gap, best friend’s brother, forced proximity
So the blurb for this book totally sucked me in, but honestly? The book itself just didn't hit the mark.
Things felt pretty jumbled, and the characters, especially, were all over the place. Their personalities and what they did just didn't make sense from one moment to the next.
Sabrina's had this crush on Wes (her best friend's brother) forever, but he's not really into her. After he gets on her nerves one too many times, she puts out this 'grumpy billionaire seeks wife' ad, and his phone blows up. I don't even remember it being an April Fool's joke, it just... happened. Wes's big idea? Make her answer the calls, but she has to move in with him to do it. Oh, and pretend to be his fiancée at a fancy party so people will stop bugging him (yeah, right, like that would work).
Honestly, I couldn't stand Wes at the start. He was super rude and seemed to just subtly insult Sabrina whenever they talked. He eventually stopped with the insults, but then it just turned into him constantly trying to get her into bed. Everything he said was a way to hook up. I'm pretty sure he's why I just couldn't get into the story. He acted more like some college dude, not a big shot CEO.
Their whole relationship was a mess. One minute she's all about him, the next, she wants to run away. Then they sleep together, but she's still trying to avoid him. And him? He doesn't want her, then he's messing up her dates, then he can't stand to be without her, then he wants her to be his fake girlfriend, and then, yep, it's back to trying to get her into bed. And then suddenly, boom, 'I love yous' out of nowhere. I just didn't buy them as a couple at all.
Sabrina and her friend Erica (Wes's sister) felt really young, like high school young, even though they were supposed to be finishing college. Their dream of instantly being successful podcasters seemed super unrealistic, with no backup plan. And since Sabrina came from a family without much money, relying on that for income just didn't make sense to me.
- billionaire MMC - best friends brother - virgin fmc - age gap - fake relationship (kinda) - forced proximity
I truly enjoyed this book and laughed A LOT. Wes and Sabrina are perfect match for each other. Wes kept bragging how he can have any woman and every woman wants him, Sabrina decided to really put his words to a test. With Sabrina pulling the biggest prank on him and almost getting away with it, the stunt brings both closer especially after Sabrina was avoiding Wes for a year.
Wes tries to help Sabrina get closure from her childhood with her father abandoning her and her mother so she can heal and move forward. Sabrina learns she was better off without her father in the picture regardless of how heartbreaking it was once she finally sees what has become of her father after all these years.
Sabrina and Erika supporting each other’s crazy and delusions is every girl and her best friend. Their support for one another was beyond boy trouble - regardless of the circumstance they were always in each other’s corner. I couldn’t stop laughing when Wes and Miles (Erika’s older brother’s) crashed Erika and Sabrina’s double date and when Wes and Tyler (Wes’ friend) crashed their second double date.
The spicy scenes between Sabrina and Wes are 🥵🔥. Sabrina finally loses her virginity to Wes after both stop denying their attraction and feelings towards the other. Even though Wes turned her down a year ago which caused Sabrina to purposefully avoid him, Wes realized he didn’t care anymore about blurring the lines with his little sister’s best friend. The dirty talk from Wes had me laughing or shocked depending on the situation. He was a man on a mission and was not going to let anyone/anything stop him. Sabrina’s sass, feistiness, along with her determination to get kicked out of Wes’ home was hilarious - from the ramen dinner incident to her bringing in a dog.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Unfortunately, this book just wasn't for me. While the premise had potential the execution left me feeling more frustrated than anything else.
Sabrina the FMC and her best friend often acted more like high school freshmen than college seniors about to graduate. Their dialogue and antics felt overly immature, which made it hard to connect with them as adults navigating serious situations.
Wes, the grumpy billionaire, and his brother also felt oddly out of character for the roles they were supposed to play. Rather than polished, driven CEOs, they came off more like frat boys. And along with that I felt Wes’s feelings toward Sabrina flip-flopped so quickly that it was hard to keep up, one minute he wanted nothing to do with her and was saying that she wasn't pretty and then in the next sentence he's whispering steamy lines in her ear and claiming he's had feelings for her for years. The pacing and character development just didn’t feel grounded which was unfortunate.
There were also a few inconsistencies that pulled me out of the story. For example, the blurb mentions one woman becoming obsessed with Wes after Sabrina puts his name in the paper on April Fool’s Day. But then in the actual book, it’s more like a crowd of women that don't even get close to him and it doesn’t even happen on April Fool’s. Details like that matter, and the mismatch between the description and the actual plot was disappointing for me.
That said, reading is a personal experience, and what didn’t work for me might totally work for someone else. If the story sounds interesting to you, don’t let my review stop you, give it a try and see what you think!
If you’re looking for an age gap, best friend’s brother, grumpy/sunshine romance then don’t hesitate to pick up a copy of Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Wife. Sabrina is on a mission to avoid her best friend’s brother, Wes, after an awkward encounter last summer left her feeling things she hopes to never experience again. Wes has other plans though, as he has wanted a relationship with Sabrina for quite a while. He has never acted on these feelings though as a way to not ruin the relationship Sabrina has with his sister and the rest of his family. When Sabrina plays what she assumes will be a harmless prank though, Wes finds a way to use it to his advantage to get to know Sabrina better, and their forced proximity may either work in both Sabrina and Wes’s favor or may be the thing that leads to their irreparable downfall.
While Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Wife started off really strong for me, I really struggled to connect with the characters as the plot progressed. Sabrina and Wes were both adults, while young adults yes, it seemed that neither one of them knew how to actually communicate what it was they wanted. Instead they devolved to immature pranks, and sometimes downright cruel methods of trying to make each other jealous rather than just having a needed conversation. While I enjoyed the overall plot of the book I do wish that I personally could’ve related to these characters better. Overall though if you’re looking for a grumpy/sunshine, age gap, romance then this might just be the book for you.
Patience is an Amazing Virtue - Sabrina thought her crush on Wes had disappeared after the embarrassing incident, but what she didn’t know was that Wes had a reason for rebuffing her at the time. However, the moment Wes discovered Sabrina was going on a date, he took it upon himself to disrupt her date, so he could have a chance to pursue her. Wes took it upon himself to find creative ways to spend time with Sabrina, but she wasn’t prepared to make it easy on him and pulled an epic prank, that landed her in trouble.
Even though Sabrina and Wes were intensely attracted to each other, their insecurities led them to hesitate in acknowledging their true feelings for each other. Unfortunately, Wes and Sabrina’s communication failure nearly cost them their happiness, but luckily he played his Hail Mary move just when he was about to lose her, which gave them the courage to finally declare their love for each other and embarked on their future happiness.
I had been looking forward to reading this book from the moment I read the blurb a few weeks ago and I can say without a shadow of doubt, that J. S. Cooper definitely didn’t disappoint. I had an amazing time reading this book, that had me hooked from the first page and unable to take a break until I finished reading it. I am really looking forward to reading Erika and Tyler’s story next.
I received a free review copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I got the opportunity to be part of J.S. Cooper ARC team for this book and I wanna thank her for that!
Wes had the worst surprise when he started receiving phonecalls about women wanting to marry him. Why? Well, this was the fault of his sister's best friend, Sabrina. She wanted to get even with him after he kept crashing her dates. Now, Wes is punishing Sabrina for her bad decision and makes her answer every call he's receiving. Because of that she also needed to pretend being his fake girlfriend, until things will cool down. But what happens when this grumpy man is hiding other feelings for her?
It was pretty funny to read this book. Wes was indeed a grumpy man, but he was also reacting this way because of how he was feeling in fact for Sabrina. She kept on making his life hard with all her dating decisions, which never pleased Wes. This time, he had the best excuse to have her close to him, to get a glimpse of what he could've had. But Sabrina will still be making his life hard, continuing making pranks, which often made me laugh.
A story which was relaxing, funny and pretty steamy. The characters had offered us lots of banter, but there were touched some sensitive subjects too, which brought a bit of something else to this story.
I just ❤️ all of J. S. Copper and can't wait to read anything that she writes. I have been waiting for this book to finally come out, and it was worth the wait.
Sabrina Fillmore has been best friends with Wes Carrington's little sister forever. She is funny, smart, loves having fun and occasionally pulling pranks.
Wes is a serious billionaire that thinks with his brain, not his heart. Both Sabrina and Wes fall in love with each other with telling the other.
Sabrina decides to try and seduce Wes one night, but when that doesn't happen then she stays away from him for a year until she can't escape him.
They finally have their night together, but Sabrina the prankster doesn't like something Wes says and that's when the fun begins. She put flyers all over New York and an ad in the newspaper saying that Wes is seeking a wife.
Will Wes forgive her or will the two of them play a cat n' mouse game with their feelings they are still hiding?
This ais a can't put down until then end book - oh, and don't forget to download and read the bonus chapter, you don't want to miss that one.
HIGHLY recommend this book and really any of J.S. Cooper's book - you won't be disappointed.
I didn’t know I needed a laugh-out-loud rom-com with a grumpy billionaire and a mischievous April Fools’ prank gone wild—but Grumpy Billionaire Seeking Wife gave me that and so much more. From the moment Wes and the heroine dive headfirst into their fake dating disaster, I was totally hooked. The enemies-to-lovers tension is so good—you can practically feel the sparks flying every time they argue (and they argue a lot). And let’s just say, when those steamy scenes hit? Yeah, you’ll want a fan nearby. The opposites attract vibe works like magic here, with Wes being all brooding intensity and her bringing the chaos in the best way. What made it even better for me was the best friend’s brother angle—there’s just something about that forbidden vibe that gets me every time. Wes trying to sabotage her love life had me howling, and their banter is the kind of sharp, snarky gold that keeps you smiling the whole way through. You’ll fall hard for the fake relationship antics, but you’ll stay for the unexpected depth—especially when the story dips into her search for her father. It’s funny, flirty, and full of heart, with a billionaire you actually want to root for. If you're in the mood for a feel-good rom-com with heat and heart, this book totally delivers.
This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed the book, so I'll continue reading other books from this author. You will find different tropes in this read as age-gap, billionaire, fake dating, best friends brother and enemies to lovers.
The first part of the book was a bit slow, so you needed to read the first 35% to get to the interesting parts of it. From the 50% mark it becomes a lot more interesting and you become invested to see what happens between the characters. Their chemistry was there as well because, they have loved each other for years, but never told each other until a prank happens.
Sabrina is a beautiful, caring and intelligent young lady who is about to graduate from Columbia University, and wants to start a podcast with her best friend. Wes is a handsome, arrogant business mogal that has been in love with Sabrina for the past few years and wants to get to know her again. Sabrina decides to prank Wes with flyers stating that Wes is looking for a wife.
Will definitely read the next book as it sounds interesting already.
A huge thank you to J.S. Cooper for giving me this opportunity to read this wonderful ARC.
4.5 stars for Wes and Sabrina's story. This story was funny, has some spice and was a sweet read. Wes and Sabrina have known each other through his sister, Erica (Sabrina's BFF) for many years. Wes is 6 years older. Sabrina is just finishing up her Bachelors Degree. Wes is a billionaire (along with his brother Miles)
This story takes you through everything they go through. She has had feelings for him since she was a teen, he's had feelings for her since she was 18 and neither knew. When the girls go out on a date after getting ready at Wes's condo, he decides to follow with Miles. Wes comes across as completely arrogant thinking he can get any woman he wants. He gets Sabrina to come back to his condo where he does in fact take her v-card and is still super arrogant. This prompts Sabrina to take some revenge on him and show him what's what. Taking the flyers and ad out for him looking for a wife backfires on her in the best way.
I was confused on some of the timelines but ignored it. Sabrina seemed to cross over from being mature to very immature. All-in-all, it was a cute story.
This is a billionaire, age gap, virgin, little sisters best friend story.
You follow Wes and Sabrina as they orbit each others worlds and other than a one night heated mistake they try to make everyone think they are not keeping tabs on each other.
Wes is a ruggedly handsome everyone woman’s wet dream billionaire and he knows it. He isn’t afraid to go after what he wants and a woman is just not in the picture for him because his career is focus.
Sabrina is the best friend and practically family because she has been around all growing up. She comes from a rougher up bringing and the last thing she wants is her best friend to think they are only friends because of money. She doesn’t take hand outs and is working hard to find her way. Do whatever she can to help care for her mom.
These two wind up having a moment of trying to lie to each other that they really don’t want anything, but body language and chemistry will always tell the truth and these two end up in a situation that changes them, all because of one bad Joke going severely off the rails.
This is book one in the “Billionaires Seeking Wives Club” series. Sabrina has known her best friend’s eldest brother Wes for years. He’s now a cocky, arrogant billionaire who left her mortified a year ago. She’s been avoiding him since then but now she’s graduating and trying to set up a business with his sister, she has to have contact with him and once that starts, it seems that he won’t leave her alone. Fed up with his interference, she decides to advertise a vacancy for the position of his wife which leads to A LOT of applications! Wes demands that Sabrina deals with the mess she’s created, meaning they have to spend even more time together. Wes has a habit of whispering filthy thoughts in Sabrina’s ear at the most inappropriate times, which leaves both teetering on the edge of something more, but Wes isn’t a keeper and that’s heartbreak that Sabrina doesn’t need. This is another cracking comedy from Jaimie with crackling banter, filthy talk, satisfying steam and heartwarming moments.

First off, it has been some time since I’ve read anything by J. S. Cooper and I was eating this up the whole time I read it.
I was either laughing or just in shock by Wes’s dirty talk to Sabrina. He really had no filter and I loved every part of Wes Carrington.
I was dead when the ad that Sabrina put out backfired and man, what a joy ride that was for these two.
This was one of the best rom con’s that I’ve read. I was dead from the two double dates that Sabrina and her bestie went on that Wes felt like he had to interrupt. He’s so possessive when it comes to Sabrina that he felt he needed to ruin the dates.
Her plan to move out was fun too, especially when she brought the most outrageous dog to live there.
The banter with them was perfection and I just loved every moment with them had me all smiles or just laughing so hard.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
