■ Synopsis / Plot
Kang Jun is a good son, a reliable student, and a pretty decent role model. But he has a secret—he has feelings for his classmate, Han Jun-woo, and no one can ever find out. Despite his seemingly perfect exterior, Kang Jun is full of self-doubt, and the attention he receives from Go Yo-han, who knows his secret, feels overwhelming. Once overlooked by his peers for his perceived weakness, Kang Jun gradually finds himself growing accustomed to Go Yo-han—the one who stands at the very top of the school’s social pyramid…
i love them so much. the fact that they are both completely unhinged and would do anything for each other from start to finish just hit different and the way they cling to each other with those awful personalities? insane in the best way but what really got me is how they actually grow together in the end like their character development?? genuinely obsessed. and yeah… i lowkey love their twisted mindset toward each other and all that toxicity simmering underneath. it honestly feels like one of the most realistic growth arcs ive ever read
To start off theyre so unhinged with each other. I’m suprised they stayed obsessed with their messed up personalities but at least they had crazy character development. Overall the story was pretty good, the ending was kind of anti climatic. And reading it was a bit difficult since there are no official translations of it in english. But this was a good first korean novel.
Am I crazy or was this not that toxic? I say, as I save this kind of quotes—
I love how Jun really is Yohan's perfect match, and they both go around telling people “Yohan's girlfriend” is worse than him lol As Jun said at the start, love is best between similar people <3
This BL series has a dark tone, deeply layered psychological development, and intricate storytelling. The characters are crafted in a way that defies clichés, yet the author's solid writing ensures their consistency throughout the narrative. The pacing is well-balanced, with plot twists in every arc, spanning both high school and university extras. To me, this might be the most brilliantly written Korean BL series.
The theme isn't particularly unique—it's school life. However, the author avoids the typical exploration of LGBT love struggles or romantic sentiments, nor does it paint the boys' world in an overly rosy hue like many other works. Instead, the focus is on social status dynamics within the school environment among boys. It's like a microcosm of society within the school setting. The author's ambiguous and unclear writing style intrigues readers, keeping them curious. Truly, this is an outstanding work within the Korean BL genre, especially in its psychological depth and character development.

YIPPEE they're finally happy together. i would've love to see more slice of life moments post confession. can't wait to see how the manhwa is when it's done. i am curious what became of junwoo and taesan, SEPARATELY. jun really went through all that shit because this fuckass dude not being able to court a man in a normal way.
at this point instead of giving us a chapter of snippets from yohan's perspective noticing jun early on, give us the rest of the perspective for the WHOLE novel. it would be bella's pov vs edward's pov where yohan's novel would be twice as thick compared to jun's.
Jun’s character development was amazing to see, his inner monologue throughout the story was so interesting. I also related to him a lot, in the way school hierarchies feel like such a big part throughout the majority of your school life, then when you come close towards the end of it you realise it was really nothing in the end and feel like a fool.
I wish the english version would have been an official translation, so the read would have been more enjoyable. BUT still so good, though very fucked up. BUT also much appreciation for two very flawed people being portrayed and figuring out life/love or whatever. ALSO THE ANGST WAS VERY REAL 🥲
Loved this overall, except for the Omegaverse AU. It was okay at first, but eventually became a bit too much for me.
Still, the main story was easily 5 stars. The side stories were around 4.5 stars, Yohan’s POV was a solid 4, and the Omegaverse AU… definitely less than 4 for me.
