The hunt was supposed to be over. The killer—dead.
But just hours after returning to Nashville, FBI Special Agent Stella Knox is faced with another exsanguinated corpse. A college student drained of blood, ankles bruised from where he’d been strung up like an animal in a slaughterhouse.
Just like before.
But the Pennsylvania case was wrapped up. Solved. So why is this murder a mirror image? And more importantly—who is sending the message?
At first, the differences seem small. But one detail stands out—the victim’s carotid artery was cut with the kind of precision used in embalming, as if he was being prepped for preservation rather than death. But before Stella can track down the one person who might have answers—the mortician—he turns up dead.
Now, what should have been a straightforward investigation twists into something far more insidious. Is this a copycat? An accomplice? Or something even worse?
With two murders in three days, Stella knows a third is coming. What she doesn’t know…a killer is setting a trap. And she’s the prey.

You should read the Stella Knox Series by Mary Stone I think you will enjoy them as much as I have.
Killer Clone is the fourteenth book in the ‘Stella Knox’ Series by Mary Stone. I enjoyed binging this fast-paced blend of crime, mystery, and intrigue that hooked me from the get-go. We follow rookie cop-turned-FBI hopeful Stella Knox, and as I embarked, I discovered plenty of high-stakes investigations with a deeper personal quest - that of solving her father’s murder. The author cleverly weaves sharp procedural detail, intriguing mystery, dramatic developments, and emotional factors. Each installment delivers a fresh case with clever twists, while the overarching mystery keeps us invested across the series. Stella isn’t just chasing criminals; she’s navigating grief, trust issues, and the relentless pressure of proving herself in a male-dominated field. If you enjoy strong, determined heroines, layered & intriguing mysteries, and edge-of-your-seat pacing, this is a binge-worthy series that will entice you to devour them all. Happy Reading…
Killer Clone(Stella Knox FBI Mystery Series Book 14)
OMG!!!!!!!! This book was amazingly scary and depraved, but I loved every minute of it. Stella and Hagan can surely find the truly craziest killers. It started in Pennsylvania and filled them back to Nashville. Someone is killing people by slitting their necks and draining them of their blood. In Pennsylvania these victims are hung upside down in trees, in Nashville they are just left in strange places. In both places Stella and Hagan find their killers, who both end up dead. But now they have 3 more murders in 3 different places, so the chase continues. I can't wait for the next book.
Leaving behind a small town where Stella and Hagen have been serving as co-Sheriffs is a relief. While it was supposed to be a vacation both were pulled into another set of murders. But, with that crime solved they are headed home. But was it solved? Immediately upon their return there is another murder with some eerie similarities to the crime they just solved. Can it really be that a killer followed them home? Wow, lots of twists and turns in this one. Just when you think your life is getting back to normal, it isn't. And, as usual, the ending really grabs you. Great read.
Stella & Hagen’s last case is finally closed - or is it? It looks like their last case has followed them back to Nashville. Is it a copycat? Thanks to the, usually drunk, reporter in Claremore printing all aspects of the case to the world, there’s a good chance it could be a copycat. But, what if it isn’t? What if there is still someone out there who was also involved in the ritual killings on their last case?
Stella & Hagen return to their FBI jobs in Nashville after their vacation, temporary Sheriff’s jobs in Pennsylvania & taking down a killer only to find the killer’s accomplice has followed them leaving a trail of murders. Can Stella & Hagen solve the cuneiform & exsanguination murders now in Nashville before being hunted by the killer? Another fast paced read in this series that you won’t want to miss
Back in the Nashville’s office Stella and Hagen expect to start slowly. They get a big surprise with the “copycat “ case and a new agent. The murders follow them and soon they discover that there is more to the case than they thought. While they think they are close to catch the killer, they themselves become hunted. This book is very well written, full of twists and action. The first chapter made me cry. The last one made me to want to continue to read forever. Thank you Mary.
Stella and Hagen return home from their extended vacation that turned into work only to discover a very similar case is waiting for them. Victim is found with a slit throat and all the blood drained from the body. Is this a copycat or a new murderer. Then another victim is found while they are still investigating the first. It is a fast-paced book with an ending that makes me scream because I want the next book NOW!!!
This gripping narrative once again delivers an adrenaline-pumping experience that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, with heart-racing suspense and unexpected twists that compel audiences to remain fully engaged from the first page to the last, unable to put the book down until the thrilling conclusion is reached. I look forward to reading the next edition to this series.
This one really has Stella, Hagen and their team really trying to piece together what’s happening. They left Pennsylvania confident that their last case was solved, the murderers were dead, but how could identical murders now be happening in Nashville. It keeps you guessing until some a few things happen to start them on the right track !
Killer Clone, the latest in the Stella Knox series, is undoubtedly one of the best! Edge of the seat reading, intricate and nail biting moments keep the reader glued to this book. Stella, Hagen Yates and their team are wonderful characters. Mary Stone and Stacy O’Hare have taken great care to make their characters totally likeable and easy to cheer on! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

These cases that Stella has stumbled into with her partner are expanding . Now turning up in more cities and turning up more dead bodies. Is there still someone hunting them to. Guess onto the next book to see.
I have this book a 5 star rating because the author is very good at keeping her stories going, from one part of the country in Pennsylvania to Tennessee to New York and beyond.
Will the killing ever stop? In Nashville two more killings like the ones in Pennsylvania. Stella and wanted to take the killer alive so they could discover who was responsible.
When you read because You love it but, It becomes Same Old Same Old, They are Simply just too many books.!!! I am going to read book 15 and that's it.!!! It gets boring to read this many books about the Same people and stuff.!!!
A story that has you on edge wondering how unfortunate are these victims. Being friendless should not make you a target, oh, wait maybe you are the one taking revenge?
This is another great book by Mary Stone. I really continues the book in the series before this one. It is filled with mystery and suspense and a continuation of a great series.
