Muted

I can constantly hear them, the voices. It doesn’t matter if I’m in a crowded room or the middle of a desert, I hear them, indistinct voices. I can never really work out what they’re saying, and I’ve long given up trying.

That’s until my life is threatened again, and the voices quiet, one strong voice telling me to run, so of course, I listen.

When some supernatural agents turn up in town, I should be cautious, but thanks to instincts, that have always guided me right before, I’m not worried about them at all, at least until they start to notice things about me, differences that no human should have.

Thankfully a call from my more bloody job saves me from having to stick around, however, although the betrayal that quickly follows doesn’t surprise me, it does leave me only one place to go, and I have no idea how he’s going to react.

Whispered Warnings - Part One

I’ve got some explaining to do, I know that. I mean, I’d have questions if I were in their position, too. The problem is I don’t have any answers for them, and I seem to be unable to keep things to myself when I’m around them, which means I, of course, shared, and now they’re panicking about how many times I’ve died. Silly men. It’s not like it’s a big deal or anything. Oh wait, it is.

Then there’s Winston and the spirit guides; I don’t even know where to start with them.

The building tension between the guys and me is just another complication that adds a bit more excitement to my suddenly even more complicated life.

We’ve still got to figure out what’s happening to the supes, I promised Navy, after all!

Oh, and figure out why the people I worked for killed me and who they were talking about.

So, not much to do! Who am I kidding? I need a snack and a nap just thinking about it!

Whispered Warnings - Part Two

The problems keep on piling up, we need to fix the breach quickly before something else manages to get through. I can't avoid the poker game again or I will risk making Ernie mad.

Of course, nothing is ever simple, not even a poker game or the trip to the training academy.

I end up causing more trouble than I intended to and very nearly end up getting my dead situation found out by an unexpected HID agent.

So when a blast from the past ends up throwing me another curve ball, and I have to drop everything to help, it seems like it may be a blessing in disguise . . . Or is it?

I don’t even want to get into my supe side or the sword or the spirit guides or the guys . . . Yeah, I think an escape is just what we need.

awesome series

Such an awesome series and I can’t wait for more books. Hopefully in the next installment there’s more answers. I totally think the guys causing all the issues at the school are helping the evil rat that’s been experimenting on the other supernatural beings. I also think her dragon friend and Dimitri somehow got pulled into that situation, but that’s my opinion. I can’t wait to find out if I’m right.

Good for a slow burn YA book

The story is good but very drawn out. It also hints at reversed harem. It's very very slow burn. Don't look for any smexy action in these first 3 books. There is also pages and pages of rambling that you're gonna want to skip but then have to go back because one sentence in the rambling was actually information that you needed. I do like the characters. Strong heroine.
