The screams of my latest victim sounds like music to my ears. What he’d done was unforgivable, and I intended to make sure he knew that. Besides, what else did he think would happen after he harmed someone I loved?
Vengeance, of course.
Over the years, my innocent smile has gone a long way to hide my dark, dark soul, but I can’t stop craving blood. Killing fuels me and now that the desire has been unleashed, I don’t want to tuck it away again.
Ignoring the call from the voices in my head is a struggle because bullies, liars, and thieves are irresistible prey.
I swear, if it were not for my sister Clara, the world would have a new villain to fear.
But as it stands, most of you are safe…. for now.
DARK. TWISTED. FUN.

You know what this book had me GOING. Sidney and Clara are a "duo" the battle of the twins, so to speak. The way this story was written will keep you going. Sidney decides to set people "straight" in her mentally warped mindset. Then here's Clara, whose twin who "looks" out for Sidney and saves her at every turn and mistake that she makes. This story here had my like 😳👀😬🤔😮. Overall, it was a great read 📖. I look forward to reading more of your books.
This was a nice, partially gory, psychological story with the twist at the end.
However, the many grammar and punctuation errors made me cringe more, than the story itself. If it wouldn't have been for the very bad and annoying editing (or non-editing) issues, I would have given this book almost 4 stars.
For instance: The word "voilà" was completely mis-spelled... If using words of a foreign language - in this case French - please show some respect and don't hack the beautiful language !
I would advise the author, to hire a better editor !
This was by far the worst edited book I have ever read !
*Spoilers* It was a good book, but I guessed the plot twist immediately it was very evident. I like how the book elaborated more on a character from a previous books. Yes this family has some issues. It was again a quick read I was listening to it at one point not good to listen to with little kids around lol. I would have like to see more of the relationships that Clara had formed as well to give more depth to her character
Well this was... interesting 😅 It was engaging enough, I flew threw it pretty quick. It's super short and even I had everything figured out before the 50% mark (which I usually do not do). It definitely was very surface level and didnt have much depth. however I think that's what the author intended?
Excuse me, ma’am!? That ending was insane! This short thriller delivers all the Dexter and Norman Bates vibes, keeping you hooked from start to finish. Sidney is a firecracker—you definitely don’t want to end up on her bad side! But despite her dark side, I loved her bold attitude and personality. I can’t wait to see what kind of chaos she stirs up in the next book!
Holy freaking moly! The pure unhinged fu*kery that goes on in this book is wild! The dark humor had me cackling the whole way through. Every time another wtf moment happened I was kicking my feet and cackling! The main character is my kinda fmc. I never saw the bomb that was dropped coming either and that’s no easy task for an author to pull off! I usually do not enjoy books without spice but honey, you did it with this one! I will happily punch my ticket for the cuckoo train for the next book!
The premise of this book is good I just don’t feel like it was executed well, imo. I figured out what was happening early and I wish the story were a little darker. Maybe the next book is..???
The Twisted Damsel left me feeling a little let down. The portrayal of Sidney, the main character and supposed psychopath, didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It felt under-researched, with too many conflicting behaviors that made her seem more forced than naturally unhinged. I just couldn’t fully buy into her character.
That said, I did enjoy the storyline itself—it had potential and some strong moments. There were a few gory scenes that pushed boundaries in ways that felt more disturbing than necessary (and I’ve read some pretty gross stuff). But then there was that dog poop moment—if you know, you know—and honestly, it was amazing. Super satisfying and totally vindicating!
Despite my mixed feelings, I’m curious enough to continue with the series. Book two is definitely on my TBR because I think this story still has room to grow.
Nicki Grace's "The Twisted Damsel" is a riveting exploration of identity, loyalty, and the complexities of sisterhood, set against a backdrop of suspense and intrigue. The story follows twin sisters Clara and Sydney, whose bond is both a source of strength and a breeding ground for secrets. Grace skillfully alternates between their perspectives, allowing readers to gain insight into their contrasting personalities. Clara, the more grounded sibling, is determined to protect her sister, while Sydney embodies a more adventurous spirit, concealing her own secrets that gradually come to light. The plot is intricately layered, with unexpected twists that challenge assumptions and heighten emotional stakes, making the characters' struggles relatable and compelling.
One of the standout aspects of "The Twisted Damsel" is Grace's ability to develop her characters into multifaceted individuals whose motivations resonate with readers. As Clara grapples with her protective instincts and Sydney navigates her secret life, the emotional depth of their journey adds richness to the narrative. The pacing is expertly handled, with each chapter leaving readers eager for more, while Grace’s lyrical yet sharp prose immerses the audience in the story. This novel not only entertains but also invites reflection on the complexities of sisterhood and the nature of secrets, setting the stage for future installments. "The Twisted Damsel" is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and character-driven narratives, and it leaves readers eagerly anticipating what comes next for Clara and Sydney.
Sidney is an unconventional, likable character who I won’t forget any time soon. Clara was also likable, and quite different from Sidney. I figured out the plot twist before it was revealed, but still had questions and cared to see what would become of the M.C.. The author did a great job of making this a page turner, and she wrapped everything up. This is one of the best books I’ve read this year.
The title is perfect for this novel! Sidney was very beautiful but twisted and deadly! Let’s just say there is always one good twin and one bad twin! Sidney and Clara both were total opposites! The ending gave me the biggest head jerk! The question I ask- does a person truly get away with murder? I was hooked from chapter one all the way to chapter 15! Never judge a book by it’s cover! Lol! Sidney’s beauty was her cover! However, let’s not get it twisted that mental illness is a serious matter and let’s encourage those going through to seek professional help! I loved every typed word on every page!
Quick and easy read with a reveal that I NEVER saw coming. I don’t know how to explain it but I didn’t even feel like I was reading. It was an effortless experience for me. This was a fun book and I can’t wait to read the next in this series.
Wow, just wow. This may be a short book but there is a whole lot of story! I wish this book was longer! I read it all in one sitting and did not put it down until I finished it. It is a brilliant psychological thriller featuring a strong FMC with dexter vibes. There were some incredible twists and surprises (one of which I did not see coming) and the main character was witty and hilarious. I loved learning the backstory in increments all while Sidney was trying (and often failing) to rein herself in. I laughed, I gasped, I immediately picked up book 2 because I am hooked on this series!
This was twisted. I freaking loved it!😍 I thought the revenge plot was iconic! I really enjoyed getting to know the twins, Sydney and Clara. The book was full on psychological, unhinged, dark humoured, and sprinkled with gore, all packed into a novel. It was beautiful and super twisted. I was hooked by the first page 🪝 Amazing writing from Nicki, I was absolutely absorbed, and I couldn't put it down. I am excited to see what questions and possible theories I have will be answered in book 2!
After reading Break Him I had to check out her other thrillers . This was interesting kept my attention from start to finish I really enjoyed it. It's about "two sisters" one is quite kinda scary and the other is hard core doesn't take any mess from anyone and will do anything who steps in the way of her and her "sister"
I enjoyed this book. It was written with a good pace that kept me interested in the story until the end.
And the twist that comes in this book was pure magic. I don't think any book has shocked me like that in a while. After that twist I could not put this book down and I was ready to get my hands on the second book.
I love the way Nicki writes. It was a bit different with the fmc being a killer so that was a nice surprise. Her inner dialogue was funny and I enjoyed the book. There was a twist I didn’t see coming!
This author had a preview of the first chapter so I read it. I immediately went to buy this book just to see what happened. I’m so glad I did! It was a good story with a twist at the end. I will recommend this book to others
This book was a WONDERFUL read!! I couldn’t put it down! I read it within 24 hours which before this I hadnlt done in a very long time, I am talking back when I was in HS. This is a definate must read! I can't read the rest of her books. She will for sure be an authors whos books I read all of.
