Flower Fields, Midnight Kisses, and The Enemy Next Door

Rate this book
Life isn't easy.

I've had to fight for everything I've ever owned and it all went out the window with one bad decision.

So when I got a letter in the mail telling me my estranged grandmother died and left me eighty acres and flower farm in the middle of nowhere West Virginia, I hopped in my car--which was on its last legs--and drove the thousand miles from Miami.

But when I arrived, I discovered my grandma may have been losing it there in the end because she also left the farm to the horrid--but handsome--man next door. He's determined to make me leave and I'm determined to stay, but when he puts bleach in my shampoo, the war is on.

This series is really well written and I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. The characters are well developed. The stories are cute. Looking forward to continuing the series when the next book is released.

📕 Flower Fields, Midnight Kisses, and The Enemy Next Door by Kimmy Loth
⭐ Rating: 4/5 — delightful, romantic, though with a few rough edges

📖 Summary:
When her estranged grandmother dies, our MC inherits eighty acres and a flower farm in rural West Virginia — but there’s a catch. The farm next door was also left to the handsome but antagonistic neighbor. He wants her out. She wants to stay. What starts as neighborly war (bleach in shampoo? classic) turns into tension, attraction, and growing roots in a place she never expected to call home.

This book is:
✨ Small–town romance with enemies-to-something more vibes
✨ Slow-burn tension, farming life, community building
✨ Warm humor, romantic tension, identity + belonging undercurrent
✨ Sweet moments and growing vulnerability amid conflict

💖 Character Reactions:

🌸 Female Lead —
Moved from hustle city life to farming land she didn’t ask for. Tough, stubborn, trying to guard her heart while tending to soil, memories, hope. She’s charming in her resistance, especially when she’s trying not to fall.

🌱 Neighbor / Male Lead —
Grumpy, territorial, protective of his land. He antagonizes, teases, sabotages her — but you feel his heart in the cracks. He’s not perfect, but his gradual shifts are what make you root for him.

🫠 Notable Moments That Made You Smile / Breathless:
That moment when she first steps on the land and sees what’s hers. The weight of inheritance and promise.
Their initial clash over property / property lines / mischief (bleach in shampoo? yes.)
First time she sees him off guard — letting a kindness slip.
The small touches: farm chores, quiet nights, stolen glances when she thinks he doesn’t notice.
The turning point where “enemy” becomes “maybe I want more than war.”

🔥 Smut / Intimacy Level:
Moderate. Warm, spicy when it sparks, but the focus is emotional build. The intimacy is earned — not rushed, not forced, but satisfying when it lands.
#SmutTags: #SmallTownHeat #EnemiesToHeart #FloralAffection #SlowBurnRomance

⚠️ Trigger Warnings:
Conflict, emotional tension, small sabotage (pranks), boundary issues. Nothing too heavy, mainly romantic friction.

Flower Fields, Midnight Kisses, and the Enemy Next Door is the third book in the Whisper Springs series. I enjoy Kimmy Loth's writing style; these are quick, fun books. I love how she builds the layers of all the characters throughout each book and each series. You could read each as a standalone or part of the series. There are always twists and turns throughout books, and the will they/won't they feelings exist, but this one threw me for a loop. I wasn't expecting how it all went down but I loved it all the same. With each book, you get a more thorough feeling of the landscape, and she has genuinely created a place that I want to go to and live in!

Noah had worked hard on the farm and knew he truly deserved what he'd been promised. Jasmine felt like she'd run out of options and wasn't going to let the opportunity that was knocking at her door pass her by. With these two-fighting tooth and nail for what they each felt was theirs, it was no surprise that something powerful would come out of it all. I laughed a lot at everything they did to each other, the family's comments, and their silly games. They kept me curious to see what would happen next and anxious to know what hadn’t been said, which of course, I would never have imagined. I love this family with its surprising situations, and now I am intrigued by Abby.

This is the third book in the Whisper Springs series, and it can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series in order. Beverly is an old woman who leaves her worldy possessions to her granddaughter, Jasmine and the man who lived next door, Noah, who took great care of her. After Beverly’s passing, Jasmine and Noah meet and the sparks begin to fly. I love Ms. Loth’s writing style that feels like home. As the storyline progresses, one cannot help but fall for these two. Full of wit, laughter, and those precious moments, keep the pages turning because you are unable to put it down. I cannot wait for the next book.

Great book loved the story line. I liked how Beverly set her own trap with the court date. I think one thing that made it better is when she was telling her story to him is if she got the letters out between her and gran for him to read since that was issue on if she really was family. I do wish there would be more books about each of the bothers like some authors do and still hear about characters from each book off and on. But it well written and since I did audio book version I liked who read it. I think in audio books really does make a difference on who reading bc some books I can’t listen to depending who narrating it but can read it.

I have really enjoyed this series and the family and friends that we've loved along the way. Noah and Jasmine have a ton of tension between them, unexpected twists, and easily making enemies of each other. I did feel that the amount of pranks and how OTT some were, became a bit much for me. Their story flows and is able to keep the pages turning with the sparks that fly. Overall the characters are lovable, and there's ups and downs throughout. This is a slow burn, close proximity, enemies, story set in an area I'd love to be able to visit! I'm looking forward for what else is to come from Whisper Springs!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I voluntarily review an ARC.
This is the third book of a series. The books are standalones, but should be read in order.
I absolutely loved this book and read it in one day.
I loved the writing style, the world building and most of all the unique story.
The characters are relatable and have interesting family dynamics, the chemistry between Noah and Jasmine is explosive, their banter and pranks adorable.
Of course there are obstacles to fight and heavy baggage to be dealt with.
I can't wait for the next awesome story.

Oh my! Enemies to Lovers is not my favorite trope, but I wasn't going to leave this book out when reading the series. Kimmy Loth did not disappoint and I was eager to finish even as my heart clenched with the misunderstanding. Beverly was certainly an ornery old lady, but she knew what she was doing! I love Noah's story almost as much as I loved Levi's! Whisper Springs is my favorite place and I love the family dynamic of the Blackwoods! I eagerly await the next story!

This story provides immediate conflict rather than springing it on you sometime after the middle. Predominantly, this conflict results in a series of escalating pranks. Penultimately, the contesting of the will becomes the focus of both parties. Nonetheless, ultimately, love wins out, as is to be expected. Overall, the story is satisfying.

Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Romantic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

FLOWER FIELDS, MIDNIGHT KISSES, & THE ENEMY NEXT DOOR
Whisper Springs Series Book 3
by Kimmy Loth
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a fun, banter-filled read! The secrets and past of Jasmine catch up to her, but new horizons emerge. Noah is guarded and hesitant with this new person stepping on his toes, but slowly sees the light. The storyline of this book kept me glued to my seat and powered through in one day. Absolutely loved it!

This is the third book involving the Whispering Springs family. While this is part of a series it works as a stand alone. Beverly sure does have her own ideas for her grand-daughter and dear friend. Right when you think you have everything figured out something new pops up. This slow burn keeps you wanting more and you find that you just don't want to put it down. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

This was a sweet and fun enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of charm. The small-town setting and playful banter made it easy to get swept into the story. I liked the chemistry between the characters and the mix of humor and heart. A few parts felt a little predictable, but overall it was a cozy, feel-good read.

I am so in love with this series and this place. If you love close knit families who would do anything for you, snarky banter, scheming grandmothers, epic lack of communication, cute puppies and hidden secrets, Noah and Jasmine's story is right up your alley! Don't miss out!

Perfect read for by the pool! These boys are the cutest! I love how Beverly told Noah that she’d send him someone. I just don’t think he realized who she’d send! I love his connection to the flower farm and how sentimental he is for everything Beverly!

I am really enjoying this series. It’s been perfect for reading in between big heavy fantasy books. I enjoy the lighthearted story and always enjoy seeing what the Blackwood brothers are getting up to.
Looking forward to Abi’s story.

Such a fun book. There is a fine line between hatred and love, you can absolutely see it in this story. Whisper Springs is amazing and the whole family is too. Wish I was there!

This book was just okay. The big reveal was a bit too much. It didn’t really fit the character. This just felt a little too messy.
