Where Colors Meet Codes: A Witty, Opposites Attract, Enemies-to-Lovers, Roommate Romance

Rate this book
She’s chaos in pirate boots. He’s order in a tailored suit. And they’re about to break every rule.

After a messy breakup, artist Ivy Delaney makes a reckless decision—subletting a room in a stranger’s oceanfront apartment. It seemed like a better idea than getting bangs… until she realizes her new roommate is Nolan Sterling.

Cold, calculated, and infuriatingly put-together, Nolan is the same man who called cosplayers like Ivy a "burden to society" during their heated clash at a Renaissance Faire, while she stood proudly dressed as a pirate.

Now, thanks to a well-played trick, Ivy’s stuck living under his roof. Worse? He’s offered her a freelance gig writing content for his AI startup, the very technology threatening to replace artists like her.

She should’ve said no.

But the longer she’s around Nolan, the more complicated things get. Lines blur, sparks fly… and soon, Ivy’s starting to wonder if the real risk isn’t staying, but leaving.

Luna Verne

Luna Verne is a dreamweaver who once shied away from romance, both in her life and in the pages of literature, because of its overwhelming power. Yet, when she gently cracked the walls around her, love slipped through the cracks, igniting a fire of inspiration that compelled her to weave tales of passion and connection. Now, clad in pajamas all day in her sun-kissed haven in San Diego, she crafts a bit of nerdy contemporary romances, inviting readers to journey with her into the enchanting world of vulnerable and heartfelt love stories.

I’m not normally super detailed on my reviews but since there are no reviews I am going to be more detailed for other readers that are considering this book!

This book is wrote from the FMC prospective with the occasional chapters coming from the MMC. When I started the book I was under impression that it was just from FMC perspective, so I was extremely happy to see MMC perspective. I typically only read dual, but was willing to make the exception for this book because the blurb intrigued me. I actually really liked that style because during his chapters he discussed his view of what was happening in one quick chapter compared to her multiple chapters.

The following bits of info are just my opinion and don’t mean I feel negative toward the book.

The FMC is named Ivy. The MMC is named Nolan. Ivy seems a bit immature but considering her past it makes sense. Nolan seems like he might have an underlying undiagnosed condition that makes him have daily struggles. The banter between the two in the beginning was very good. In the first chapter that is in Nolan’s POV the twist completely surprised me. I personally feel like I wasn’t a fan of Nolan’s attitude constantly toward her. But it made for an interesting storyline. I felt like Adrian’s wanting to have a relationship didn’t fit. I was totally expecting for Elena to secretly want to be in a relationship with Nolan. There is a third act breakup and surprise another breakup after that so not sure what that would be called? It felt like they both wanted to change the other person and honestly I would have preferred that it not end in a HEA. Also to add this is a closed door romance (something I am not a fan of). I enjoyed this book and I feel like it was well wrote. I would have preferred it to be open door romance.
