This was a VERY quick DNF at page 38. I'm pretty convinced this book was written by AI. There were first draft level mistakes throughout.
"Since it was fresh and loose, it was easy to move. Chris started to dig. As he pushed the shovel into the ground, he was surprised how easily the earth moved."
"In the distance" was used three times in one paragraph.
Stephen lives in a one bedroom apartment he shared with his male roommate. But later is referred to as a two bedroom bachelor pad.
Katie is from Illinois, but moved because of the Ohio winters.
The final dagger for me was the sentence "She only applied to UCLA, which was her only choice"
On the off chance this is NOT AI, the author seriously needs a second set of eyes on his books before release.

I enjoyed this book.

I can't tell if this was a good concept but poorly executed with very amateur writing, or whether it was too outlandish or just bad.
