Trivia books are supposed to be read in doses, but I went cover to cover on this one. I read it because I needed something without structure or much substance during a difficult time, and I'd read one of Lennox's books before and enjoyed it. This is truly a BIG book, about two inches thick, broken down into sections and quite informative on a number of subjects. I did find some discrepancies between facts about similar subjects in different sections, which was disappointing, and as I'm a stickler for grammar, the little mistakes jumped out at me.
An astonishing range of factoids and detailed origins of common expressions and phrases. Pretty fascinating if you enjoy the history/development of language.
