The American Omega Princess

Rate this book
My codename has been Flicker my whole life.

When the president, AKA my mother, promises me that this will be her last election and the last time that I, her omega daughter, will be trotted out in front of the masses as the pristine jewel on the crown of her political career… I’m hesitant to believe it.

Election time is always rife with crisis—and I’ve long-past grown used to the song and dance of it all—but when someone tries to kidnap me and my entire secret service detail is replaced, everything changes. I’m just not sure if it’s for the better.

Maverick, Ezekiel, Brooks, and Dallas are sworn to protect me, and with that protection comes with an entirely new set of rules.

As my already tiny world continues to shrink in size, I buck against the new constraints and the handsome alphas that have implemented them.

They seem to surround me during every waking moment, which wouldn’t be so bad, if I wasn’t also trying to ignore their scents which make my mouth water even under layers of de-scenting sprays and soap.

But it turns out this pack of alphas and the way they make me feel is the least of my worries. There’s still an election on and there are those who want to see it end and take me with it.

My codename has been Flicker my whole life, but now I worry that everything will go up in flames and none of us will be able to stop it.

The American Omega Princess is a why-choose omegaverse romance novel featuring FMMMM. This title is expected Fall 2025.

The prologue starts this story off on a compelling note. The h is American political royalty, the omega daughter of the President from a politically prolific family, and protected by Secret Service. She survives an attack that devastates her, though she is still required to assist her mother’s re-election campaign. The new protection detail she gets assigned are a group of alphas, when she only ever had betas before, and they all have to acclimate. I’m a fan of bodyguard romances and enjoyed the start of the story. Later in the book, choices are made that significantly lessened that enjoyment.

Written in first person, multi-POV of all the main characters. No ow/om drama. The guys seemed experienced, I recall only one mention of one of the guys having casual hookups in the past. The h was technically a virgin, but had experienced heats with partners in a clinic-setting before, just limited.

Some tropes/themes:
☆ Omega x 4 Alphas
☆ Bodyguard romance
☆ Forbidden
☆ Heavy political plot and themes
☆ Technically virgin FMC
☆ Twins in the group
☆ FMC sacrifices her own needs for her family
☆ MMCs try to take care of her
☆ Hiding their relationship
☆ Omegaverse elements - knots, heat, marking/claiming, purring, instincts, scent matching
☆ Politically motivated attacks on FMC
☆ Side character has substance abuse addiction - discussed on page
☆ Toxic family dynamics
☆ Some comic relief from feistier family members

I was keen on the h at the beginning. She’s been insulated and protected, but she’s also passionate about her designation not being held back. She’s the caretaker of her family and gives over and over for them, especially with her mother. It’s complicated by the loss of the h’s father that the family is still processing after a couple of years. Sometimes the h is bratty or pushy with the guys, taking chances with her security, however it’s some of the few times that she pursues what she wants. She wasn’t as cognizant of the need for her own safety though, despite what was happening around her.

The Hs are a unit that’s worked together on overseas protection details. They don’t want the assignment of protecting the first daughter. There are reservations and maintaining professionalism at first. Which start melting into connection for most of them. The relationship development felt uneven, particularly with one of the guys. Each of the guys does have a fleshed out background and distinctive personalities, though one guy sort of blended at times with two others.

Side characters are primarily the h’s family and team. A couple of the guys also have family in politics and they make appearances too. My heart hurt for the h’s brother who was struggling. I adored one of the H’s grandfather. The h’s grandparents ended up being great characters and allies for the group, I hadn’t been sure about her grandfather at first, while her grandmother was all kinds of mischief. The mother/President was a pill and I never forgave her for the choices she made and the pressures she put on the h.

There are some great incorporations of the guys protecting the h or them bonding. The h gets scooped up and carried. They feed her. Where this went more into the weeds for me was when the relationships took off. I thought the jump into physical intimacy was sudden and then when the h wants to formalize relationships with the guys, it also felt clunky. There’s a bit of support given when it’s revealed that they're scent matches and that she’s going into heat and omegas can get riskier during that time, but it felt like this group went from a slow slide into interest to wham, claiming! There are on page explicit steamy times with each guy and with multiple partners at once. The guys do not get physical with each other.

The mother’s reaction to their relationship sent me into major frustration with the book. Her mother goes off the rails and the h makes decisions in an attempt to protect the guys and assuage her mother’s demands that I didn’t agree with and actually harms one of the guys. I was almost yelling at the book. The h is in her late twenties and she acts like a doormat at times with her mother. She does have to take a stand because of an emergency that arises, but it’s such a blip that leads into the climax that her standing up for herself didn’t even give me the joy it should have. It also comes about in a way that reads as childish, even though it got the job done.

The climax is the threat coming in full force. The h has to assess her situation and the guys help stage a rescue. There are some tense moments and a scare, but everyone is safe at the end and lo and behold, the mother then supports their relationship. The epilogue has them together and happily working on what their future holds. The lead-in to the next book was shocking.

I had read one other book by this author and I noted in that review that I didn’t think her writing style was for me. It still holds true for this one, but that’s personal preference. I know some readers are looking for more omegaverse that has tension and some drama, which I think this does carry out, so it may be more up others’ alley, where I disliked how the author chose to inject that.

Daughter of a female president, on the campaign trail for her second term Lennon, code name “Flicker” has most of her security team taken out during an assassination attempt in what looks like as retaliation for speaking out on Omega rights.

Four alphas are sent over from the state department to be her new guards as she finishes up the last couple months on the trail. I thought this was a fun new idea and Lennon was likable, with cute grandparents and a parent in high pressure situation and brother with an addiction problem. The pacing was good and it was a fun story and the spicy scenes weren’t too plentiful and boring like many of this genre. I liked the guys and loved some of the surprises along the way and the suspense. Cute.

Lennon Holloway isn’t your typical omega. As the daughter of the President of the United States, she’s constantly in the spotlight—and constantly in danger. Between being a political target and openly advocating for omega rights, Lennon has more than a few enemies. When a serious threat is made against her, a new security team is brought in to protect her: Maverick, Zeke, Brooks, and Dallas. With the election only weeks away and tension rising on all sides, things quickly get complicated… especially when the chemistry between Lennon and her alphas becomes impossible to ignore.

I loved Lennon. She was fiery, passionate, and incredibly strong without being over-the-top stubborn. She knew when to stand her ground and when to be vulnerable, which made her the perfect omega. Her love for her family—especially her brother—added another layer to her character that I really enjoyed.

Her alphas were a great match for her too. There’s a little bit of push-and-pull at first, which I always enjoy, but I really appreciated that the entire story wasn’t built around resisting the bond forever. Instead, we actually get to see their relationship grow and develop throughout the book, which felt refreshing compared to stories where everything only comes together in the last chapter.

The plot kept things moving with the political tension and the looming threat, but let’s be honest… the spice was spice’n. The steamy scenes were definitely a highlight for me.😏

Overall, this was such a fun read and a great addition to my ever-growing list of favorite OV books. It had the perfect mix of plot, drama, romance, and heat. If you love a good Omegaverse with strong characters, protective alphas, and plenty of spice, this one absolutely delivers.

✨Thank you to Calliope Stewart and her team for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

- I truly enjoyed the entire book but mostly the dedication. 🫶🏼🖤
- The American Omega Princess is such a unique book. Out of the nearly 900 books I’ve read in the last two years (heavily RH/OV) none of them were similar as the premise this one has. I LOVE that. I don’t ever want to see anyone state that politics aren’t meant for romance when we see it in every other book, just not in this exact way. Societal roles, power dynamics, governments, etc. And if you do want to stay away from politics in romance, do so, but don’t be upset about it when you picked up a very obvious political book. I appreciated this book entirely too much. And Calliope, I see you. Thank you for using your voice and your skills to create something meaningful.
- Auburn twins AND Secret Service! Need I say more??😍
- The representation for addiction and the POV of a family member (Lennon) of an addict (Carter) was beautifully written. Both sides struggle. For an addict, it can be for a plethora of reasons, but ultimately it’s not who you are and the person you are meant to be is lost, needing to be found again. For a family member, you want the best for them, but also to not enable them. Either side of the aisle is difficult and to see Lennon love Carter so fiercely… tears. If you have triggers to addiction, I would probably skip the book as Carter’s recovery is mentioned throughout. 🖤
- Hamburglar black eyes 🤣 awful situation but it’s so funny at the same time lmao. Honestly the humor in this book is gold. 👏🏼
- Okay there’s so much more I like about this book but I was so pulled into it that I didn’t stop to write more for the review. Overall, I think anyone who would like to read the book, you should. It’s one I won’t forget.🫶🏼

It’s a slow burn for sure and not as spicy as I thought it would be but the scenes we get are 🔥🔥

Also W T H on the news article! The scream I scrumpt! Calliope why why why. I can’t wait for the next book.😭🥺🖤

Favorite Quotes:

“Where the hell did you guys get these buses? Temu?” 🤣

“I am, as you say, an equal opportunity grandfather.”😭🤣

I could not believe this alpha was trying to gaslight me right now! 💀

“I’d just like to let you know that while my daughter may be a scary ass bitch, she learned it all from me and I’ll make you disappear with a level of efficiency that would scare a 1920’s mafia don.”

Being loved by someone like Lennon was like being loved by the sun.

I had the best time reading this one! It was so good. Lennon was such a great FMC who wants to take care of and help everyone but herself. But her new security detail won’t let her get away with that any more. Maverick, Zeke, Brooks and Dallas are the new alphas assigned to protect her. The chemistry between the alphas and Lennon is everything!

4.5 stars, rounded down. Solid bodyguard omegaverse.

Synopsis: Lennon (omega) is the President's daughter and is helping her mom get re-elected for a second term. Between loosing her father a few years ago, her mother's reliance on Lennon to campaign and serve as host for White House events, and her brother's struggles to stay sober, Lennon is living her life for other people. After an attack on her motorcade, her security team is replaced with an established team of 4 alphas: Maverick, Zeke, Brooks, and Dallas. As they follow her around the country in the last few months of the campaign, attraction blooms.

This was a very well written omegaverse that didn't fall into any of the insta-love or insa-lust tropes that are typical for scent matches in omegaverse. Instead, we have a security team that comes in thinking they're protecting a pampered young woman, only to realize that Lennon works her butt off and frequently needs to be reminded to eat and drink water. Lennon is just a really solid character who is being asked a lot, needs to reassert her own needs, and gets put in a lot of terrible situations.

All of the characters are actually all well written, with each of the four men in the pack having distinct roles (helped by their unique roles in the security team) and personalities. Lennon's family is also great and we come to appreciate all of the forceful personalities surrounding Lennon as the book goes on.

One thing I really enjoyed was Lennon's personality during her heat. She's pretty self-confident normally, and it's not that she changes who she is, it was just that heat makes her voracious, impatient, and take-no-prisoners. I think it's hilarious when the omega isn't dominant, per se, but rather takes what they want during a heat while their alphas are pulled along for the ride.

Be aware that there are issues of drug use in the book by Lennon's brother and Lennon is targeted several times in the book due to her being a public figure. I personally like a little danger in my omegaverse to up the stakes, and it wouldn't be a good bodyguard romance unless there was the opportunity to have the bodyguard(s) save the protectee. So points for putting Lennon into realistic danger.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Other omegaverse books can fall into easy tropes, but this book was well written and gave the reader substantial characters and plot lines to really savor.

Stand Alone

Lennon is the first daughter of the president of the U.S. She is a political figure helping her mother campaign for her second term. There was an attempted abduction and she gets a new security team in the form of four hot alphas.

I am sitting at about 60% as a write this review and I am honestly not sure if there is a point in me continuing on. I think the book is written well but there is a lot of political details and a whole lot of extra characters. Every page we are getting dialogue with one of the main characters and some random person. Like why do I need to know her assistant is the cousin of her old assistant (who cares). The scenes with the MMCs and FMC are so short, even the bonding between Maverick and Lennon was so fast it was like a page of spice, a bite, and then immediately moving on. Which brings me to my next point of the lack of chemistry. I don't think these characters have a really like each other and most of the book they are not together at all. It's not really working for me.

❤️: Fated mates/scent match trope, bodyguard romance
❌: chemistry, book cover (she has no eyes)

Triggers: Death of parent, drugs and alcohol abuse (sibling)
Tropes: RH, bodyguard, slow burn, bites

This book absolutely blew me away. From the very first chapter, I was hooked on Flicker’s story and the intense, high-stakes world surrounding her. The mix of political tension, danger, and pack dynamics creates a story that is impossible to put down. Every chapter pulls the net tighter, and you can practically feel the walls closing in around Flicker as secrets, threats, and emotions collide.

What really makes this book stand out is how eye-opening it is in more than one way. It peels back the polished surface of politics and power while also exploring identity, autonomy, and the complicated push and pull between protection and freedom. Watching Flicker struggle against the expectations placed on her while navigating the fierce presence of Maverick, Ezekiel, Brooks, and Dallas is both intense and addictive.

The chemistry is electric, the tension is constant, and the danger lurking behind every corner keeps the pages flying. Just when you think you know where things are going, the story twists and raises the stakes even higher.

If you’re looking for a book that delivers suspense, emotion, and a story that makes you see the world from a completely different angle, this is it. Eye-opening, thrilling, and utterly consuming. Do yourself a favor and read it.

The American Omega Princess by Calliope Stewart
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️.5

⤷ I really enjoyed this story, and I really fell in love with all the main and side characters. There was a nice balance of the plot, romance, and spice with how the story and campaign were drawn out. I loved how we got to see both Lennon’s family dynamic and her growing relationship with her guys as the story progressed.

⤷Lennon was such a beautiful character who had the weight of caring for her family, the political campaign, and learning to accept being taken care of after everything. Each of the MMCS stood out on their own, and grew their relationship with Lennon in their own unique timing and way.

⤷ This story brought me much joy, laughter (especially Lennon’s grandma), surprise, happiness, and kept me a little on the edge of my seat. Calliope did a beautiful and thoughtful job in handling the heavy topics, such as how the characters handled grief/loss and drug addiction. I did not expect that newspaper at the end! This was a great first book, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, which I expect we might see more of Lennon’s brother…

kinda boring, mostly politics

Honestly this was not for me. I didn’t care for the writing style as I read the whole book and don’t feel like I know who any of the characters are as people, only who they are as it relates to their careers. Lennon was a doormat for her family and her mother did so much to control her but then it was solved by a single apology? Mmkay. So much of the book was leading up to her growing strong enough to do what she actually wants to do, but then it just…flopped. I also found everyone else in her family annoying af. There wasn’t much chemistry between the characters, it was written, but not felt. The spicy scenes were awkward and not very compelling. There were quite a few typos and grammatical errors, and the author has a bad habit of using the same word twice in a sentence, so the phrasing was jarring at times. I just feel very unsatisfied and disappointed after finishing this book. Not much more to say.

This is the first book in the new Royally Packed Up series. I have loved Calliope Stewart since I read “Gwen.” Who doesn’t love an author who rewrites history in a steamy Reverse Harem way?! So as I saw this newest release I knew I needed to read this book.
This book was amazing! I feel for Flicker! She has so many responsibilities; some that are put upon her and some that she takes on. She has to live up to so many people’s expectations, it has to be exhausting! These bodyguards are some hot and smexy MMCs that are just here to do their jobs. Protect Flicker from any real or perceived threat. Little do they know this job is nothing like their previous assignments…
Thank you, Calliope Stewart, for another amazing read! I definitely need to add all of your books to my TBR list. I need to read the next book in this series as well as the rest of the Omegas Through Time series.

Loved It 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Calliope did it to me again! She gave me a strong FMC in Lennon who knew when to be stubborn & when to back down, and a pack for her that had the perfect balance of men in Maverick, Ezekiel, Brooks & Dallas who knew when to be tough & when to be soft. The storyline had a good steady pace that had just the right balance of plot & spice, mixed with witty banter, danger, and external obstacles trying to pull our main characters apart. I’m so excited to see where Calliope takes us next in this series 👀🤞🏼🤔 If you love omegaverse stories with that perfect balance of happy romance, spicy passion, and dark where you want it to be to keep things exciting…then you’ve found your next read ❤️

Being an omega daughter of an alpha mother isn’t easy, but when your mother also is the president and up for reelection is even harder.
Lennon lives a public life as she helps her mother with the duties around the White House and holding rallies promoting her. With an uprising of alphas with ideological views that omegas is basically property of alphas Lennon have to do what she can to combat it. With that comes many new and terrifying threats against her life and she has to get a whole new alpha bodyguard team. But than they resist there urges and keep everything professional? 👀

Loved that Calliope is back writing omegaverse with suspense and thriller vibes. This feels more like we’re back to the style of here San Francisco series which is my favorite 🥰

This was a fun premise for a book, especially for someone like me that loved watching My Date with the President's Daughter growing up haha. Lennon is the omega daughter of a female president (love that), and she experiences a botched kidnapping job at the beginning of the book, leading her to be assigned new bodyguards in the form of four alphas: Maverick, Zeke, Brooks, and Dallas. As a shock to no one, these men end up being her scent matches and they do end up forming a pack together, even though they all fight against the inevitability of it for longer than I would have liked. Overall I did like the storyline and I enjoyed the book, but I did feel like the romance was dragged out a bit more than necessary. Still a good book overall, and I would recommend!

So good, more storyline, great characters.

Loved this, the daughter of the president of the United States, is helping her mother campaign for re-election when there is an attempted kidnapping. So a special group of alphas are pulled in for her protection up until the election. But they discover they are scent matched mates. Then there is a surprise heat and then bonding. I loved this story, the bulk is about the election and the romance between the daughter and the secret service agents there to protect her. The storyline and characters were great, it was a great book with a happily ever after and there is another book coming which will focus on things in England and I think focus on the brother. Either way I am anxious to read that.

When Lennon’s security detail gets injured while on the job protecting her, Maverick, Zeke, Brooks, and Dallas are surprised to be assigned to her. Things are trucking along until they all realize they are scent matches, despite all being on suppressants. They’d all started to have feelings for each other, but things escalated quickly. Too quickly for Lennon’s mom, the President of the United States. The guys are ready to do protect Lennon with their lives, but Lennon’s mom is not on board. Their loyalty is put to the test, and Lennon’s mom is finally able to see how good the alphas are for Lennon. Spicy with a bit of danger. Loved it!!!

I was hesitant because im sure you can guess. But Sierra Simone has written some of my favorite books and theyre a queer poly romance with the president/VP,/first lady. And as a 90s baby, I loved the rom coms with the president's daughter so I gave thjs a chance. Immediately got good vibes from the authors note in the front and DEVOURED this book. I love a good omegaverse and the idea of her and her secret service team is new to me! I loved that Lennon seemed to be the aggressor at times and made sure she got what she wanted!

I really hope theres a spin off with the royal princes as a pack!

Okay so technically this is 3.5 stars. It was good, I loved the idea. Lennon is a rock star big sister who's blazing the campaign trail with her president mom, and falls for her new burly bodyguard pack. It was fun in all the right places, and sweet in the rest of them.

But...

this is the first Calliope Stewart book where the characters fell a little flat for me? Maybe it was the pacing of the book, but something just did not click between me and these characters. The dialogue was fun, the spice even more fun, but they just didn't hit the way this author's books normally hit.

I really loved this take on omega stories. I definitely don’t think the presidents daughter being an omega has been written before and it’s a fascinating concept. I also am a sucker for a good bodyguard romance, so that is always a plus. Lennon, the FMC, was generally capable and I liked that she could hold her own. I also liked the overarching story going on in the background about the threat to the presidents daughter and the potential security risks while the romance was developing. Overall, I thought it was a unique story, that fleshed out the characters well.

3,5 stars - adore the author, love the concept, but couldn't get fully into the story because of the constant time jumps

I really wish it had slowed down and shown the characters process and bond in between all of the delicious drama and action, rather than almost immediately jumping ahead in time to the next thing happening.
All the characters were so loveable, and I liked their dynamics with each other and their families and each other. There was so much emotion and complicated feelings about familial duty and responsibility and support to dig into, and I would've loved to see more of it.

This book had me laughing out loud. Lennon and her guys were so sweet. SEAL Team Six really fell hard for their bratty omega. I loved the side characters just as much as the main ones, Lennons brother was such a well written character. You didn’t see much, but the representation of addiction was perfectly written. I have read a ton of OV books and this is one I’d recommend to anyone who is just starting out. Everything was well laid out and I truly loved every second of it.

Lennon is such a fun FMC to follow. Stewart is the best when it comes to making incredibly layered omegas but I truly feel the gravity of all Lennon has to deal with is well impressed upon the reader and I adore it. She is such an incredibly strong, principled omega, who deserved so many dang good things and throughout the story we finally get to see it come her way!

Maverick, Zeke, Brooks, and Dallas are a pack of alphas who feel a little adrift when we first meet them, not career wise, they have their heads on straight, but oh my gosh, these guys feel unmoored. They are good soldiers and good alphas but when they meet Lennon and finally let her soften them they become the best kinda of alphas!

I am so excited for more in this series from CS!

1. I don't really care for the anime like illustrations of each MMC. They looked childish af and not something that look like grown ass Men to this 54 year old reader.
2. The TSTL FMC weeks after losing her entire security team in a kidnapping attempt because of an ice cream craving. She's trying to walk on foot to go grab some pancakes or whatever- cause she needs freedom & the big meanie alpha, gave her rules..

I loved this book so much! I love the characters and the plot and I was on the edge of my seat for certain scenes. However, shout out to Bunny! That women had me cackling while reading. I highly recommend if you are looking for something that isn't overly dark but is still suspenseful with a good romance and some good politics. Highly recommend!

Calliope! I loved Lennon store line. And Maverick, Ezekiel, Dallos and Brook's. They each bring something different to the table and balance the pack out very well.
I felt for Lennon because of her Mother's job, being in the spot light like that is a lot.
I can't wait to read what you write next.

The American Omega Princess by Calliope Stewart is the first in the Royally Packed Up Series. Loved Lennon! She's a strong, smart Omega. I loved the guys. I wouldn't want to be in Lennon's shoes - constantly in the spotlight because of who her mother is. Loved it. Can't wait for more in this world.

I loved Lennon's story!
The plot kept me on the edge of my seat. It was original and captivating.

Lennon was confident, intelligent, and had such a big heart for her family. The sacrifices she made. I was so happy she found her pack and the love she deserved.

This book had drama, danger, and some action. In addition there were emotional moments, humor, and spice.
