At first, I was a little thrown—was this part of a series? There were clear references to past events, and it turns out this book does follow on from Ruthless Redemption. That said, it still works well as a standalone if, like me, you’re jumping in fresh. We meet Raine on the run from the menacing Dante Moreau when she crosses paths with Emmett, a man who offers his help, but the kind of help that Raine knows usually comes with strings attached. Naturally wary, Raine declines. But when danger closes in and Emmett swoops in like a knight in tactical gear, she finds herself in a safe house, unsure of what comes next. Forced into close quarters, the chemistry between Raine and Emmett is undeniable, simmering until it explodes into a full-blown inferno. But just as things are heating up, Raine overhears a phone call that has Emmett referring to her as “leverage and a problem that needs handling.” Oof. Cue the heartbreak. In a shocking lapse of hero logic, Emmett lets her walk out…and then TAKES A NAP for goodness’s sake. Yep, a nap. Not exactly bodyguard of the year conduct. Unsurprisingly, Raine ends up right back in the clutches of Dante. Fortunately, Emmett has a friend or two ready to back him up, and what follows is an intense, action-packed showdown. Still, I was left wondering—where does Raine really stand once the dust settles? And then there was Nathan. His random cameo from Raine’s past felt like a narrative dead-end—he popped in, hinted that things between them weren’t over, then vanished without any real impact. A bit of a head-scratcher really. Despite a few hiccups, I loved Emmett’s unwavering pursuit of Raine after she ran. The way he showed up without pressure, giving her space and time, was beautifully done. And their choice to start over somewhere far from all the trauma gave their story a satisfying, heartfelt conclusion.

Reckless Salvation is fabulously written, amazingly balanced and beautifully executed by Lucille Byrne. She continues to showcase what a brilliant author she is with each book I’ve read by her thus far. The characters of this book are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. Reckless Salvation follows the adventures of Emmett and Raine. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know these two characters as well as seeing the feelings they have for one another grow stronger as the story progressed. The chemistry between Emmett and Raine is absolutely breathtaking and undeniably irresistible. I couldn’t get enough of their incredible to story to the point where I was slightly saddened when it came to an end because I didn’t want it to end. I would absolutely give this book as a recommendation for anyone to checkout and give it a read. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing romances from this author in the future.

A good story about a couple coming together after years of heartache and untrust as well as her being abused.
She’s a runner who is trying to save herself as well as her sister. She tries to help her even though she winds up running from him due to the feeling she starts to have for him.
When she’s captured her, he settles his differences with others to save her. After her and her sister are saved she can’t help but run since she’s been doing it for so long.
After tending to some business he goes after her. Someone from her past shows up but he has the man tended to. The couple announces their love for one another.
A year later and she has stopped running. Her sister and his friend come by for a moment. The couple are together and happy and in love.
Great character, a page turner as well as easy to read. The story has drama, action, suspense, intrigue and a steamy romance which also sets it to have a happy ending.

He is a hot ott possessive alpha and she is a fierce determined sassy woman determined to be her own hero…. But even a strong woman can use a strong man at her back.

A new author for me. I was happy with the book and enjoyed it my only complaint was it was too short for me. When books are that shorts they have to be rushed, so I wish it was longer. The story stars Raine and Emmett. He notices her at a wedding reception. She acts like something is going on with her and tries to rush to the exit but he follows her. It turns out, Dante Moreau’s men are after her too. Emmett rescues her and takes her with him to a safe house. Raine doesn’t trust him either and runs and is now captured by Dante. Emmett decides he will get her back.

This was a dark romance about a woman who has been put in a spot not of her choosing and a guy who has his own demons when things don't work out how they should. This is an action-packed drama that had me from the first page. Emmett spots a woman that moves like she has the world on her shoulders and knows that she is in trouble which is confirmed when he follows her to the hotel. A smooth insta-love story, we see that Emmett from the moment he sees Raine again that she is his and will remain so, he does everything to make that happen. He does not know that Raine feels the same for him, with a number of bumps and twists and stubborn behavior it takes a while before they get their hea.

Emmett and Raine's story was filled with dark moments that not only added elements of excitement but surprise as well. Raine is between a rock and a hard spot, but when Dante demands her little sister be his too her decision is made fast RUN!. Here you have two men whom despise each other and the one Emmett basically rescues Raine while she's on the run from Dante and lord have mercy that's when the s.... hits the fan cause now Emmett wants her to be his forever.

This is a quick read. I don’t have a lot to say about this book other than I loved it. I do wish there was a bit more in the story. I kinda wanted to see how Raine and Emmett's story continued. I will definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Emmett was reckless.
This book was a slow burn mixed with instalove. Emmett was in it from the get go. Raine was a runner. I did get a little confused with everything going on but it was a good book overall. It was action packed, that is for sure!

I will make this short. It is a dark romance. Both of them are broken. It is not a soft romance. It is primal. I love the small bits of softness of softness he shows for her.

Emmett, Emmett, Emmett … you sexy, sexy man. As soon as he laid eyes on Raine, he knew she would be his. And he always takes care of what belongs to him. Raine falls just as fast, but misunderstandings can fracture clear thinking, and cause deafness when we should listen.
