I am not a fan of the rockstar trope as it seems 99% of the time it is not safe with manwhores, groupies, drugs and cheating. However, the pic on the cover caught my attention as the guy is one hot cutie and I am glad I picked it up because this is a totally safe read.

MMC is a drummer in a rock band with a group of friends who are more like family to him. FMC is an actress who just landed a role to play a Disney movie or something, and in her contract there is a clause that she has to come across in public as totally wholesome and avoid scandals.

Their meet-cute was sweet when the Hotel they were both staying at made a mistake and placed them in the same suite – unbeknownst to them. So while heroine was doing a photo shoot in the living room, Hero was taking a shower and comes out in a towel to find strange people in his living room.

FMC’s manager (or whatever she was) sets them up in a fake engagement to avoid a scandal that would ruin FMC’s career and do harm to Hero’s charity – hence for the need of a fake engagement which IMO was lame to me but WTH….

Anyway, I enjoyed their sweet romance because both MCs were likable and I loved the slow development of their relationship and the bond they build throughout the story. For two people in the entertainment industry where the chances of having something real & lasting was questionable, these two made it work for them.

Now one thing that I did not like is the constant flipflopping of hot & cold that went on in the first half with FMC in regards to them having sex. She kept pulling away so much that it was aggravating but when they finally do get together in the last half, their whole relationship changed and that is the part I most enjoyed.

There is a little short breakup at the end where MMC pulled away but it gets easily resolved with a beautiful proposal. I just wished author had given us an epilogue with years later ‘cause I’m greedy that way.

Safety:

-No cheating
-No OW/OM
-No intimate sex with OP
-No virgins
-Hero not a manwhore. The only thing that was mentioned is an OW whom he had a relationship with a few months before he met FMC, shows up and tries to make a move on him but he shuts her down immediately. Said he never loved her or any OW.
As for FMC, there is a line in the beginning where the FMC’s sister tells FMC that she needs to get back on the dating wagon and it sounded like someone hurt her in the past or she had a bad experience with someone but nothing is ever mentioned again.
-HEA with an engagement of 6 months later.

Faking Becomes Real

This is another installment of The Wild Band series and this time we have drummer, Nate. Lacey is an up-and-coming actress that needs to keep a clean image so when Nate and Lacey found there were in the same hotel room for a night it is time for damage control. They need to fake an engagement but the only thing with faking it, sometimes it becomes real. Talk about chemistry between these two…it was off the charts. I loved how two opposites could be so right for each other.

Fake engagement with benefits

I absolutely loved this one. A brilliantly written rockstar/movie star romance, with well-developed characters, steamy chemistry, humour, suspense, romance and a lovely HEA. A great story to read and one I couldn't put down, I have been loving this series and would strongly recommend.

Nate is the drummer for Wild Band and in contrast to the noise he makes on stage, he's the quiet one in the band who doesn't talk about his family or past. But when he finds himself in a situation with a suite double booking, with a new movie star, her PR immediately announces an engagement to cover up the mistake.

Lacey has been working hard to make a name for herself but she's supposed to be a film princess, family friendly, so having a rockstar enter her bedroom during a photoshoot, in just a towel, wasn't on the schedule. But as she spends time with him, fake engagement PR photoshoots, interviews, etc; she gets to see both sides of his life.

They have to keep reminding themselves that their romance is fake, while convincing their fans, friends and families that it's real; though the hard part is remembering that it isn't.

Nate and Lacey are both so likeable and have fantastic chemistry, I loved watching their romance bloom despite their busy work schedules.
"You know," I say, voice lighter than I feel, "we're supposed to be madly in love." Nate's lips curve at that. "So I've heard."
It's also lovely to see the other members of the band and their growing families, the friendship between them all is fantastic and I can't wait to read Vince's story.

I loved this book from start to finish. I really like Kelly’s writing style, & have loved this series so far. I immediately liked & connected with both main characters - rockstar Nate, drummer in Wild Band, & up-coming Hollywood star Lacey. The chemistry between them was obvious from their first brief encounter, and continued to grow in intensity. Their first proper meeting was the unlikely (to me) situation of a 5* hotel double booking a celebrity suite, when Nate emerged from the bathroom clad in only a towel! How could this be spun by Rachel, Lacey’s agent, to make the most of it for Lacey & her latest film? - & of course there’s the need to prevent any possibility of scandal. Fake engagement maybe?! (I couldn’t help feeling that this situation was set up by Rachel, who could be pretty ruthless)

It’s another great story, well written with believable main characters & a good cast of supporting characters: it was good to catch up with other members of Wild Band, & the kids at Family First were delightful. At its heart the book is a romantic love story, between 2 likeable main characters in Nate & Lacey, set against the background of their demanding careers individually & together. I loved it, & will enjoy reading it again.

The Wild Band members are slowly finding their hea. First Cass then Sam then Luke and now Nate. Nate the drummer is the quietest member of the group, although he loves the other guys like brothers and he’s happy for them he sometimes feels alone. The morning after a concert he wakes up to find that his hotel room is mistakenly occupied by none other than Lacey, an up and coming actress. In order to maintain her clean image they are advised to fake an engagement for six months. This is a heartwarming love story that soon becomes too real, their attraction and chemistry is so strong that they don’t have to pretend, soon becoming each other’s everything. The MCs were polar opposites but they were so right for each other. A book filled with romance, sacrifices, wonderful friendships, family dynamics, a little sadness, just thinking about Nate’s childhood brought tears to my eyes and a whole load of heat. These Wild men are truly special, hopefully we get to read about Vince soon, it’s going to take a special person to knock his playboy image into touch.

OMG this was another great story. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Nate and Lacey meet each other in a near hotel in the same town. She was an up coming actresses and he was an drummer of an rock band. They each other would you like to be engaged to each other for fun. And they both say yes. He was a bad boy and she was ms. perfect. But they never thought that they could be falling for each other in this moment as love was on their mind. The chemistry between them had ignited in a romance moment of passion and physical tension. Could they keep the image up in the public eye. Or will the truth come out in front of everybody. Or was it true love.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received an advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

Nate has been the quietest and therefore the mysterious one throughout the series. I’ve been waiting for this one!!! I’m excited to review it. There’s definitely a side to him I didn’t expect. Lacey is the newest princess in a movie. She attends The Wild Band concert. She catches Nate’s eye. He catches hers. They’re both wanting something more in life. They’re thrown together in a somewhat jarring but hilarious way. What happens next?.

There has NEVER been a book by Kelly that I have not LOVED reading or thought it was anything less than a perfect 5/5 star read. This romance book about Nate and Lacey has the BEST SPICE and ROMANCE together even though they are polar opposites, but opposites do attract to each other. I won't give any STEAMY details away but trust me you need this book as well as the first three in the Wild Band Rockstars series. They all are AWESOME books to read.

This book has it all, a fake engagement, insecurities, slow burn, he falls first, a bit of a misunderstanding and love. She is a Disney Princess and he is a bad boy drummer for Wild Band. Can they make this fake engagement work or will it blow up in their faces? Can they find true love or lose their opportunity? Read it and find out for yourselves. I highly recommend this book to all romance readers.

I loved this book.

Nate and Lacey were amazing characters. Thrown together in a less than ideal situation, they must fake a relationship to keep their careers on track. Fake feelings become real. Angst ensues.

Great characters. Amazing chemistry between them. Storyline that will keep you invested until the end. Highly recommend.

Decent read. Not much angst but safe with no cheating or OP drama.
FMC did annoy me though for over 80% with her hot & cold attitude and for one or two chapters towards the end, the role reversed and it was the MMC who annoyed me - until the boy groveled that is....😜
