When Nellie Banks finds out she’s pregnant, she knows she wants to keep the baby. She’s prepared to go at it alone—until her best friend Sage invites her to move to Hartwood Creek. They say it takes a village, and having her bestie by her side is exactly what she needs.
Even if it means living in the same town as Noah Wood, her former one-night stand and possible baby daddy. Talk about complicated.
Noah’s known as a playboy, but he’s determined to prove himself to Nellie. Their hot night together after the Witches' Ball was the turning point for him. She’s turned him into a one-woman man and doesn’t even know it.
As the newest employee of his family’s cottage resort, Nellie discovers an enticing new side of Noah. With a baby on the way, pursuing a relationship with Noah is a foolish gamble of her heart, even if he might be the father.
J.C. Hannigan lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband, their two sons, and their dogs. She writes contemporary romance, through which she brings to light awareness of mental health and social challenges.
Like any good Canadian, she loves hiking and carbs.
This book was so sweet. I really enjoyed it and liked it even more than the first one. If you don't care for the unexpected pregnancy trope this book isn't for you but if do it's great. Noah is a dreamy mmc and I loved his character. The town magic made more sense in this book to me. The whole town feels like Stars Hollow, so cozy and friendly!
I received an ARC copy of this book, and these are my honest thoughts.
Another fun read set in Hartwood Creek. This is Noah and Nellie's story and it is full of emotions.
Nellie not being used to having people stand behind her and support her easily. So when she finds herself pregnant and not in a relationship, she sure could use some support. When her bestie Sage tries to convince her to move closer, there isn't much convincing. She wasn't prepared for the added support of Sage's friends and family. She also was expecting to get herself so close to Noah's family and life.
When Noah sees Nellie back in town, he is excited. But for some reason she is really keeping him at arms length. Knowing that something changed for him that night they were together, he is determined to get her to give him a shot. When he finds out her secret, he tries even harder. But he does a good job of balancing her needs and being their for her, while giving her the space she needs.
Could it be that we have another win for the Hartley sisters and the town folklore? Grab your copy and find out. Excited for what happens next in the series.

Another amazing addition to the Hartwood Creek series.
Nellie and Nix are such a beautiful couple. I admire how patient and understanding Nix was with Nellie. He gave her just enough space to breath while showing his never ending support.
The sisterly relationship between Sage and Nellie is inspiring. I love how they always support each other.
I loved this book! Nellie and Noah were so fun to read and I loved their connection. It was sweet that Noah was supportive of Nellie and being with her no matter what.
I always enjoy a great series where you get to catch up with past main characters and see snippets of recurring side characters and places. I really enjoyed going back to Hartwood Creek and seeing updates on Sage, Nix and Daphne, and the triplets of course!
Another great read from one of my favourite authors.
I absolutely loved this book. I read Sage’s story and enjoyed that, so I was excited for the next instalment and I wasn’t disappointed. J.C’s books are always great but I really loved this. It dealt with some complicated family dynamics, and didn’t just skim over them like some romance stories do. You could feel the pain of estrangement coursing through Nellie throughout the book. The ending was perfect too, and I’m hoping there will be a 3rd book soon.
If you want a small town romance I recommend this series! This is book two and it carried on perfectly from the finish of book one. When Nellie, finds herself pregnant from a one night stand she needs to quickly determine her next life choices. Sometimes the next big move is the hardest when trust can be evasive.

Last Resort: A Hartwood Creek Romance by J.C. Hannigan is a heartfelt and steamy contemporary romance. Nellie faces the challenges of pregnancy and new beginnings while navigating her complicated feelings for Noah, her former one-night stand. With small-town charm, sizzling chemistry, and emotional stakes, the story is a captivating journey of love, hope, and second chances
Recieved this book as a ARC reader and I really liked it. Awesome small town and found family vibes. I can see a few other couples who need their own books! It was warm and fuzzy and a tiny bit predictable, but sometimes isn't that all we want from a romance? The happy ending!
Another book I couldn't put down. Love that all the loose ends are tied up by the end of the book and I’m not left wondering what has happened to certain characters. It all came together beautifully. Amazing work J.C Hannigan can’t wait for the next one.
Oh this sweet cozy story🥰 I want to move to Hartwood Creek and stay forever. The story is fast, gets into it on the first sentence which I love about JC Hannigan's books. The descriptions are beautifully done and the story is just a warm cozy hug. Absolutely loved this one and can't wait for more
