This is the fifth book in the Deadly Detective Agency series.

As I’ve read them all, for me, each new book is like returning to visit old friends. There’s Abigail Summers who heads the detective agency and attempts to control the other quirky ghosts she hangs out with. Then there’s Hayley, the psychic who, connects the dead with the living and in this book is expecting a baby. She would like to take things easy. However, fate will not let that happen.

As usual, the agency is not only dealing with the murders associated with the wedding, but with a secondary crime which throws DCI Johnson into the spotlight, especially when he tampers with the crime scene and reluctantly has to call on Hayley for help.

Could this the be the beginning of a friendship at last? You’ll have to read for yourself to find out.
These books are easy to read, whimsical and amusing.

I really like the characters in this series, especially the ghost detectives. She may be bossy and pushy, but Angie, the newest ghost is a brilliant detective. It doesn't hurt that she has the living psychic Hailey to tell the clues to so she can pass them on to Tom her husband and the Sergeant who accompanies the idiot inspector. This time the Inspector is implicated in a secondary murder, and the ghost detectives and Hailey go to bat for him. In the primary murder, the mother of the groom is murdered and the ghost detectives and Hailey uncover a person who has killed several times and gotten away with it. I definitely recommend this book.

The fifth book of Ann Parker’s cozy mystery series does not disappoint. A truly fun read as the ghostly detectives embark on a most complicated and murderous mystery. Lots of humour in this page-turning read and a plot to get your teeth into. It is a well-written and very enjoyable cozy mystery, and a good read for everyone as the bodies pile up.

Hayley and Tom are at a wedding when the mother of the groom suddenly dies. This follows a spate of wedding themed deaths which the DDA are determined to solve. Then DCI Johnson is caught up in a murder and he is a suspect. Despite their dislike of him and Hayley unable to help as she gives birth to Benjie, the ghosts help to clear his name.

I had a lot of fun reading this next installment of this cozy mysteries series. I love the humour, the suspense, the lively interactions between the characters, and the heartfelt moments.

kept hoping for something more

Quick read. Hard for me to keep the people, ghosts, and clues straight. Did not feel I was included in the mystery. Not for me.
