I liked Sage and Bru…I really thought the book was going to focus on them. I thought Bru was going to look like the man on the cover but he was light skin with curly hair and blue eyes…the focus was on Paris and what happened to her. If the story was only about Sage and her man I would have gave the book higher than 2 stars.

I give this a 2.5 to 3 stars. I’m irritated that this wasn’t wrapped up in one book and the author spread it out. The editing could’ve been better but I’m willing to read the next book to see what happens

Okay, these cliffhangers kill me especially when the book is getting really good. I love Blu and Sage together. Blu is trying to get his life back on track after doing a ten year bid for his friend who already had two strikes. Blu is now 32 and trying to navigate his life as a free man. Sage is an RN by day, and a stripper by night. She is living her best life, but not without strife. She has issues with her sister Paris and her mom.
Blu and Sage are getting to know each other but life is definitely lifing and giving them challenges. Sage is worried about Paris who has gone M.I.A., and Blu is trying to keep an eye on B-Dot and his foolishness..
Things turn up....to be continued. Great beginning. I can't wait to see what happens next.

If Sasha would have confided in her sisters, I truly believe they would all be as thick as thieves with bonding…
The girls’ mother decided her brother’s freedom was more important than her daughter’s sanity…
B-Dot feels that he is owed a portion since he believes Blue seems to have it good…
B-dot fails to realize that Blue does the simplest thing, he works…
Will Blue and Sage be able to live happily ever after or will Paris provide a permanent separation…

I have read quite a few of AK’s books and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I like the fact that Blu got out and didn’t want to repeat old habits and was tryna make it on the str8 and narrow, I love how Sage didn’t judge and saw that he had the potential to be better than when he went in, now that sista Paris I feel for her I truly do but I don’t like her and hopefully she learns a valuable lesson in book 2 and acts right….. let me head on over to see what happens next

Omg ! When I say I couldnt put this kindle down. I feel so bad for Paris. She's a victim of her circumstances and the way her sisters kept coming at her wasn't right . But on the other hand she was very needy and didn't want to work . The momma is messed up foreal, very selfish ! But sage and Paris is my girls . The way Paris was on her ish towards the end had me screaming!!!!! Like girl what you doing with a gunnnnnyun lol .

The novella showed promise with its ambitious themes, yet fell short in executing a fully realized narrative. While the work courageously tackled provocative contemporary topics, the storytelling and character development lacked the depth necessary to fully engage readers and effectively explore the complex issues at hand. 2.5 Stars.
