As drama and conflict became more prevalent, the original educational focus of Mobtube was overshadowed by chaos and controversy. The former mob informants who cooperated with the government tell their treachery, murder, and mayhem stories. Unfortunately, the genre has been invaded by sexual predators, stalkers, fraudsters, domestic violence perpetrators, and women abusers. The Mobtube community is a collection of middle-aged wannabe gangster fanboys who embellish their lives with stories to impress, swindle, manipulate, and extort their viewers for as much money as they can. Over time, Mobtube's reputation has shifted from being a niche platform for historical and contemporary mob discussions to a notorious hub for deceitful and harmful behavior.
