I really enjoyed this book. It took some time for me to get used to the writing style. Once I did, I relaxed and enjoyed myself. I like Nick's sense of humor and the great way he described experiences and relationships. I recommend this book for people who want a behind the scenes look into what it's like to have God restore and heal.
It was such a pleasure to read Transformer by Nick Shakoour! My book club: Blooming in Faith 🌻 met weekly on Zoom to chat about Nick's book. His book talks about his spiritual awakening in a conversational style that keeps the reader engaged throughout the chapters. I laughed out loud, I wiped away tears and rejoiced as I journeyed through the pages. Tonight is our final meeting as we gather to discuss the last three chapters of the book. Then on September 15th we'll gather to chat with Nick during our monthly Meet & Greet. We're all looking forward to that with excitement and love 🥰🌹🌟💙🙌
Buckle your seat belt for this ride! I have never read an autobiography and been so completely engrossed in it! I have loved and prayed specifically for Nick Shakoour since Season One of The Chosen, so I JUMPED at the chance to read his book! So.Glad.I.Did Encounter God, JESUS, the Holy Spirit in a unique and personal way through Nick, his friends and his beautiful family! This author is RADIANT on paper as he is also on film and Voice. Traveling to Lebanon, Jordan, L.A., Texas, in his Toyota or BEST of all in his JEEP, and with the Tow Truck Lady! An EPIC journey from Coma to Awakening! Love the Pink Hard Hat story! I hope for a continuation of this autobiography, and possibly an audio version of this read by the author and all of his voices, knowing that Season 6 is in filming now. Prayers continue! You, Nick, will forever be Twenty-Three to me!
The story is actually pretty incredible and powerful however the writing and formatting of the book is so distracting it really took away from it. The different fonts, overuse of exclamation points, and repetitive words really made it hard to read. That being said, the story it is really good and shows how God can truly transform us if we let Him.
I wish I could give it a better rating but truly it was difficult to get through based on what I wrote above. Such a shame because it could have been a higher rating if it wasn’t for that. Just my personal opinion.
I really enjoyed reading this autobiography. some autobiographies are very dry, this one felt like you were sitting down next to Nick while he told you his story. I cried tears from laughter, tears from sadness and tears of happiness. A story of how even when we don't understand why God allows things to happen in our lives, we come to realize that all along He had a plan for our life, and that He was with us all along the journey.
