Midnight Protector

I wasn't supposed to see it—vampires collapsing in the streets, blood vessels rupturing beneath their skin, screams echoing through New Midnight as hundreds die. But the vision came anyway, violent and public, exposing my psychic abilities to those who've killed to keep their existence secret. Now I'm hunted by the military who wants to weaponize me and vampires who want me silenced permanently. They've sent their deadliest enforcer after me—the Shadow, they call him. Cold. Ruthless. Unstoppable. But as my abilities intensify in his presence and my body responds to his in ways I can't control, I'm discovering secrets in my blood that were never meant to be awakened. Every moment with him changes me, and I'm beginning to understand why those in power fear together, we're more dangerous than either of us alone.

For a century and a half, I've eliminated threats to vampire security without question or hesitation. My orders regarding the psychic were kill her immediately. But something about her vision rings true—a weapon that could destroy my kind, a conspiracy reaching into the Vampire Council itself. Against everything I've been for centuries, I choose to protect rather than execute. Her blood calls to mine across centuries of separation—a connection deeper than duty, stronger than survival. While New Midnight's supernatural hierarchy crumbles around us, I'm committing treason against the Council I've served for generations. The weapon deploys at midnight, and conspirators expect me to deliver her for destruction. Instead, I've become something neither of us expected—her protector. Her partner. Her equal in a fight that's only beginning.

MIDNIGHT PROTECTOR—where desire and danger collide and saving each other means changing everything.

Intriguing and sexy

I don't give spoilers. What I will say is...great summer read. Fast, fun and very nicely done. This writer is what black women...all women need. To know that women are not kittens up a tree waiting for someone to get us down. Women stand up to what life give us and find love along the way.
