Late-night radio brought them together; a snowstorm might just seal the deal.
When Whispering Falls radio host Ainsley Jefferson picks up a call from a man who only calls himself Boston Guy, she doesn’t expect it to become the best part of her night. But as their witty, intimate conversations grow more personal, she realizes the voice on the line is becoming something she looks forward to more than she should.
Then a snowstorm knocks out the studio, and Boston Guy appears in person—soft-spoken, steady, and nothing like she expected. Suddenly, their connection is real.
Set in a snow-draped New England town filled with warmth, wit, and late-night honesty, Radio Romance is a sweet, slow-burn romance about finding comfort in conversation and falling for someone who hears you—even when you’re not saying everything out loud.
Well, this is one of those short, quick reads you randomly stumble upon on some platform. Personally, I had never seen it anywhere before not on Instagram, not on TikTok. It hadn’t even popped up on Goodreads or Fable as a recommendation. I actually found this one super randomly on Spotify, and that’s how I decided to experience it (as an audiobook). And I genuinely loved it!
Even though it’s super short and very simple, I feel like the audiobook was really well done. I loved the narration and everything about it, and it honestly left me wanting more. And I think that was the only issue I had with this read. I felt like it had the potential to be a longer story. If it had been 300–400 pages, I genuinely think I would’ve devoured it in no time.
But I understand that probably wasn’t the author’s intention, and that’s totally fine. Still, I personally would’ve enjoyed it a lot as a full length book. That ending left me a little teased, wanting to know more, see more, and learn more about the characters and their dynamic because the chemistry between these characters was on another level from the very beginning🫣
So yeah, that’s my only critique I wish it had been longer. Other than that, I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
“Radio Romance” is the 2nd book from the new ‘Whispering Falls Sweet Short Story‘ world... This grabbed me from the start to where I read it all in one sitting :D ... Ainsley is a radio talk show host, who suddenly has a smooth, mysterious, regular caller she dubbed, “Boston Guy” that really lights up the late nights, even for her other listeners... Quirky characters and witty dialogue make this a fun, easy read... I’ve already ‘clicked’ on the 3rd free kindle book next & anxious to start reading it! ... I can honestly recommend this to all fans of fiction, so run don’t walk to get these fantastic must reads!
I have no reason not to rate this 5 stars. This was a short and really sweet novella. The characters were relatable and interesting. I loved the radio show vibe and the cozy small town romance. The meet cute was also perfect. This is my first read from this author and I am definitely interested in looking into her other work!
I listened to this on audio. This novela was such a cute cozy read for the weather Im currently in. Ainsley and Scott (Boston Guy) gave me enough giddiness that I did enjoy this short read. I am not familiar with novellas, but I feel this had enough background for characters and some development. Too cute!
Honestly for a novella this was great, a lot of novellas feel very insta lovey due to the short nature of them but this one didn’t and it was refreshing. It was short and sweet and I loved the main characters.
This was so short and sweet. I needed something quick to reset my brain and this did the trick. Little radio show gal (really good audio voice. wink wink) gets a phone in from a man and he keeps calling everyday and they fall in love. period.
This book wasn’t terrible but also wasn’t anything special. It was nice to read a romance that had a real plot rather than just detailed smutty scenes. The plot also easily could’ve doubled as that of a murder mystery lol
Cute romance story about a radio host who makes a connection with a caller during her radio show! I listened to this on Spotify, and enjoyed the narrators voice.
