Was pleasantly surprised by this novel. Being an avid reader of this genre I felt similar to when I read well-known authors. . I believe I have read everyone of Lee Child’s books. I have read dozens of James Patterson’s as well. I sincerely enjoyed this book, Admit Nothing by Scott Urbach. My reading experience and enjoyment was similar to when I have read the forementioned authors. When I’m reading a book it’s like I’m playing a movie in my mind. If there’s too many stop and starts then I won’t read that particular author anymore. SCOTT URBACH however kept the movie in my mind running smoothly. I’m really shocked that this is his first book and so well written. Definitely looking forward to his next novel. Thank you for the pleasure Scott Urbach. Great job! Kathy Lynch Ortega
If you're a fan of taut, high-stakes espionage thrillers, Admit Nothing delivers in spades. From the gritty streets of Bangkok to the polished halls of Washington, D.C., this debut from former CIA officer Scott Urbach oozes authenticity and tension.
Grant Hunter is a compelling protagonist—damaged, relentless, and caught in a web of conspiracy that spans decades. The plot hits the ground running and doesn’t let up, blending the shadowy underworld of international intelligence with political paranoia and personal redemption. The twists are sharp, the pacing is blistering, and the atmosphere is thick with mistrust.
What I appreciated most is how Urbach never glamorizes the spy world—it’s messy, morally gray, and full of betrayals. You feel the weight of Hunter’s losses and the risk in every move he makes. It reminded me of classic Cold War thrillers but with a modern edge.
A strong debut and a must-read for anyone who enjoys fast-paced, intelligent thrillers with a touch of realism. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for whatever Urbach writes next.
Admit Nothing is an absolute page-turner that had me hooked from start to finish! The author masterfully weaves together espionage, intrigue, and unexpected twists that keep you guessing until the very end. The level of detail and authenticity in the storytelling makes the action feel real and immersive. I couldn't put it down and am already looking forward to the next book in the series—who knows what surprises are in store! If you’re into spy thrillers, this one’s a must-read.
