This book was such a fast read initially. The writing is very interesting but the book starts loosing you after a point because of continues repetition. All my thoughts aside this was a nice drama filled book after reading back to back mind numbing books

Bound to Me by Inara Sheikh surprised me more than I expected. This is one of those books I got into fairly quickly, yet took my time finishing because I kept stepping in and out of it. Not because it was boring, but because the themes made me pause. That said, it’s an incredibly easy and fast read. When I saw it was around 210 pages, I genuinely thought it felt more like 120–150, which says a lot about the pacing.
The story revolves around Azlan and Kaniz, a marriage that was never wanted by one half of the couple. Kaniz never wanted to get married, never wanted the life she was pushed into, and after childbirth, her resentment turns darker. Her postpartum struggles, body image issues, and emotional detachment are uncomfortable to read, but they’re also painfully real. Her decision to abandon her child and flee is undeniably wrong, but the author doesn’t write her as a cartoon villain either. Still, by the end, Kaniz remained the hardest character to sympathize with.
Enter Samara. Kaniz’s sister, her complete opposite. Soft, kind, self-aware, and quietly in love with Azlan from the very beginning. She steps away when Kaniz marries him, knowing her feelings are wrong, and that restraint made me respect her instantly. When circumstances force Azlan and Samara into marriage, the story slowly transforms into something tender and organic. There’s no instant love, no dramatic leaps. Just two people who were unexpectedly right for each other, finding comfort, respect, and eventually affection.
What I appreciated most was how natural the relationship felt. The fluff was sweet, the conflicts didn’t feel unnecessary, and when irritation showed up, it felt earned. I genuinely rooted for Azlan and Samara, which made the emotional payoff worth it.
Overall, this isn’t a book I expected to enjoy as much as I did, but it worked. A solid 3.5 to 4 stars, and definitely a surprisingly good second read of 2026 for me.

Bound to Me by Inaara Sheikh I finished in one sitting because of the romance, the spice, the chemistry and the thrill.

THIS book was combined with all the elements for me to get lost in a world that wasn't my reality.

Azlan after the birth of his son heads to his wife's place to take him and his wife Kaneez back to their home only to find Kaneez gone leaving a note for her family that she doesn't want to take care of "the baby" and she is headed for greener pastures.

Coincidentally Kaneez's sister who has had a forever crush on Azlan since before they got married is also visiting Izhaan and falls in love with him.

Azlan returns to his house with his son Izhaan determined to raise him on his own but a CEO can only do so much and Azlan marries Samara (on paper) to be a mother for Izhaan and Samara being the overlooked person accepts this as her fate because of her emotional attachment to Izhaan.

The book carries forward the story of Azlan and Samara as a married couple and her position in the family of her husband who have their doubts about the sister of the wife who left their son.

The book introduces you to new characters which will be introduced in the 2nd book.

The story also highlights how a mother can get protective for her child and who really is a mother.

The way Samara and Azlan discover themselves was also something you would definitely want in a marriage.

The story is gripping, fast paced and covers so many emotions and I was biting my nails towards the end because the way Samara owns the story was not something you expect especially for someone who read about her in the prequel.

I had a really good time reading about the mother-son relationship and especially of women who realise that they are not cut out for domestic life and sometimes parents do play favourites.

If you like muslim household stories, especially of married life then you got to check out Bound to Me .

Bound to Me by Inaara Sheikh is the first book of the Limitless Series.
This book is the story of Azlan Khan, high powered CEO and Samara Anjum.
As the first born and obedient son, Azlan marries Kaneez. Only to realise that she is not cut out for marriage and thinks only about herself. And when their son is three months old, she elopes with one of her admirers. And her parents suggest that he marries Kaneez’s younger sister, Samara.
Samara agrees for her nephew. She has always been in love with Azlan ever since she saw him for the first time.
And as they start their life together as a family, Kaneez returns, demanding a second chance.
Loved the story and the way it has been written does not seem to be a debut. I had read the prequel, which gave me a good idea of how and why he married Kaneez.
The scenes have been depicted in detail. The characters are well etched, and their feelings described in detail. I loved the intelligence and strength of Samara.I loved the relationship between the members of the Khan family, the brothers as well as the relationship between the parents and the sons.
Eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

Dual POV
Spice: 🌶️

I really loved the story and the writing. It’s the first time I have enjoyed a romance written by an Indian author. Unlike many that I have tried to read before, this story wasn’t trying to appeal to a western audience, and neither was the writing sanitized to either over explain cultural or vernacular details, or adapt the romance to a generic cultural context. Bravo! I felt the characters were realistic, albeit a bit exaggerated. The cultural ethos of a story dictates how characters would behave in a realistic setting and this is exactly what was achieved here.

What I enjoyed most was Ms. Sheik’s ability to immerse the reader in the inner world and emotions of her two main characters. Did the overall plot culminate into an overly dramatic movie style ending? Sure. However, it was easy to overlook since even there the author was careful to keep the reader engaged with the angst of the main characters.

This is a low angst, simple but touching story and a really good weekend read.

The troupe of marriage of convenience is done so well in this book. I loved how Azlan and Samara got to know each other and their attraction was 🔥. This book is fast paced and engaging with precise narration with enough drama, romance and spice making it a perfect rainy day read!!!

This is my first book by Inaara Sheikh and reading it was a very nice surprise. Inaara has a way with words and it shows in her book. The story was nicely woven with the main characters blending in well. Though, I would have liked to see more of punishment/ consequences for Samara's parents and her narcissist sister, but the story concluded quite well.
