The final climactic battle between Ken and Raoh.
It's pretty epic! Lots of great battle scenes throughout this book.
After the first few volumes, I really just assumed this series would be nothing more than getting introduced to big gnarly evil warriors and watching Ken beat the snot out of them. I am pleasantly surprised by how the stories all came together in the end. Ken uses the power of all the warriors that have helped him, and died in the process, to battle his brother Raoh.
I feel like this is a satisfying ending to the series. I am curious what they do for the next 8 volumes! After this I believe the story jumps ahead a bunch of years.

The inevitable tragically manly conclusion. I do miss the goofiness of the middle volumes though, not as much time for that in this one.

This is it, what was probably supposed to be the end of this series. The final battle against Raoh, the reencounter with Yuria, and the conclusion to the story that started on the first volume.
And I think this finally crossed the threshold of "so melodramatic it's good" to "ok, this now has become bad again". It has some good moments, but most of it was a bit too much to me. Still, finally getting the end, and that final fight still made it worth reading, after all those volumes.

Kenapa peran "kaumnya" terkesan selalu dilemahkan?

You know what the rest of the series is like by now, and here you get more of the same. I thought this would be the end of the story, but apparently it continues so we'll see what comes.

The epic conclusion to the saga of Raoh.
Remarkable art. Operatic themes and characters. So-so plotting.
The spirits of his deceased friends strengthen Ken’s fist, allowing him to overpower Raoh in their duel at the tower. (Emotion, heart) However, in a cruel twist of fate (another ongoing motif), an ally’s trap backfires, and Raoh escapes with Yuria.
Raoh, shaken by the defeat, attempts to regain his confidence by attacking Fudo, and we learn the gentle giant has a monstrous past. Raoh succeeds in killing him, but only by cheating, and flees the scene in a rage. It seems “sorrow” is Raoh’s fatal weakness.
In an effort to acquire sorrow, Raoh murders Yuria (not really of course), and is finally able to obtain muso tensei, the ultimate hokuto technique.
After witnessing their leader in tears, Raoh’s soldiers realize the futility of war and cast aside their weapons. Raoh abandons his dreams of conquest, his only remaining ambition to defeat Ken and prove himself the strongest.
Some flashbacks illuminate the childhood history of Raoh, Ken, and Yuria — the Hokuto brothers have long been fated to clash over the Nanto maiden.
In the final duel, Ken prevails due to his greater sorrow and compassion. But afterwards we learn that Raoh was driven by love for Yuria all along, that he spared her and actually treated her radiation sickness.
He calls down a lightning strike on himself and apparently dies, while Ken goes off into the wastes to live with Yuria.
Ken remains one of the less interning characters in FOTNS, outshined by both Fudo and Raoh in this volume, two characters who experienced transformations after long struggles. We still don’t know too much about Ken and he rarely breaks from his stoic facade. When he believes Yuria dead, there is almost no reaction.
I won’t spoil it, but I like the movie version of Ken vs Raoh better. More poignant.

The final showdown between Kenshiro and Raoh to decide who between them is the true inheritor of Hokuto Shinken. It's exactly as action packed and melodramatic as every previous installment in the series has been. The dialogue is campy and hilarious (sometimes maybe unintentionally so), but the reason we're all here is for the over-the-top fight scenes. Raoh has been Ken's most challenging foe (and vice versa), and the series has done a pretty good job setting up the stakes for the situation.
In this volume we get to see a little further beneath Raoh's tough exterior, something first developed when Raoh faced off against Toki in volumes past. As much as Raoh wants to conceal his feelings about Ken and Yuria, we finally get to see him come to terms with a bit more. Who knew that Fist of the North Star could tackle complex themes like toxic masculinity?

Fun as always, so long as you don't take this too seriously. This acts as a coda to the series, though the popularity of the series made it so that the series continued well beyond this volume. Though this isn't game changing comics by any means, I plan on reading on since it's been a blast and I've heard good things about the subsequent volumes.

As much as it is melodramatic/corny at times with its writing (I love it though), there are some sublime moments of character introspection. We get to see Raoh's inner turmoils when faced with fear of defeat and how he accepts the fact that true strength is only achieved with knowing sorrow (what else but love).
As for the action, Kenshiro vs. Raoh is still the most masculine fight put on paper, coupled with a very impressive artwork.
I recommend it to all lovers of classic fighting manga. :)

I was not expecting this to come in so soon! And I wasn't expecting this to be an ending! I know there are two more volumes, but I have no idea what they are going to cover, because this one actually completed the Raoh/Kenoh story in a very satisfying, larger than life way that felt like the end of an old Final Fantasy or something. Everything and everyone comes in, the heavens are references, darkness is lifted, love saves all, etc. etc., and it kind of ruled.
And Kenshiro and Yuria walk off into the sunset to enjoy whatever time they have left. It's a lovely conclusion.

4.1/5
A weaker entry in terms of plotting and pace, this final volume in the Raoh saga is nonetheless a satisfying read. The action and art are both still spectacular (should go without saying at this point) and Roah's character development is handled well. I do think the middle portion goes on a bit too long without properly building up to Kenshiro's final confrontation with Raoh, and their battle in the movie is arguably better. Still, I enjoyed this volume about as much as I've enjoyed the series as a whole so far.

Another solid volume, this one is pretty near all action. That's because it wraps up the initial story arc. I believe Volume 11 will be a multi-year time hop. Which means as much as I'm enjoying these, I'm debating if I need to keep going. At any rate, vol. 1-10 are a five star reading experience. The book and art are so bonkers it's easy to get wrapped up in the thing and forget how basic it mostly is.

I love the specific strain of machismo that shows up in a lot of action manga stuff. It's all rippling muscles and bloodshed but the characters aren't afraid to cry or express emotions. It's corny at times, but it's appreciated all the same. I'm probably drastically misremembering but I don't seem to recall a lot of that in American superhero comics.

The inevitable final battle between Raoh and Kenshiro.
"I don't care about the heavens anymore! No. Perhaps the heaven I sought was always you!"
The melodrama is so over the top corny that you can't help but love it. Light has returned. The bad guys spontaneously stop wanting to be bad. It seems like the story would end here, but there are more volumes to come...

Ken pursues Raoh for their final battle and there are deaths of friends along the way.
Once again there is exquisite violence expertly detailed by Tetsuo Hara.
Each time I get one of these volumes I will read it first then go through it again to explore the amazing art.

There's more to the story. Please continue translating these fists. I know this was the viz version of its translation but pick it up and continue it.

Great illustrations. Incredibly violent, and needlessly so (but still less than Battle Angel Alita). A classic, written by the master himself, Buronson.

Very good and it looks like the end of an era for this series. I'm curious to see what vol. 11 will bring forward.

Possibly the best volume so far. Fighting of epic proportions with an emotional part, too.
