He was a whole new Alec. A side to him I didn’t know existed, or could exist. —Mason
I expected my new sales job to come with big commissions, long hours, and an absurd amount of coffee. What I didn’t expect was Alec—my boss, mentor, and the number one sales rep for years. He’s sharp, relentless, and annoyingly good at reading people. He’s also the kind of guy who has his entire life together. Or so I thought.
Our first work trip started with a shared hotel room, an early flight, and lots of downtime. Alec and I had an easy rhythm—trash-talking in the gym and cracking jokes over overpriced bourbon. But somewhere between the morning workouts and late-night strategy sessions, I started noticing things I shouldn’t.
Like how good he looks without a shirt on when he’s going hard in the gym. Or how, sometimes, the way he looks at me makes me want to do whatever the hell he tells me to. It’s not a problem. I don’t even like guys like him. Except now, I can’t stop wondering… what if he wants me to do something I’ve never done before? I’m not sure I could say no.
Full-length MM workplace romance novel with angst, more than a few bumps, and a HEA.
Heath Grayson writes erotic fiction featuring men who've just found out there may be more to life than they ever imagined. His debut series, But We're Bros!, depicts guy friends crossing lines that bros typically don't. Heath is fascinated by the quiet moments between men, how a single stare, repeated joke, or the simple brush of a hand can turn into something much more. The first time with your good bro can change your world.
This captivating narrative stands out as an exceptional read, offering remarkable depth and authenticity. The story's intricate details masterfully capture the nuances of a genuine relationship, presenting characters and situations that resonate with real-life experiences. Its portrayal of everyday life feels remarkably true-to-life, drawing readers into a world that feels both intimate and relatable.
This book is really good. Believable characters, 🔥🔥🔥, plot. Surprised me! Thanks to the author for taking his time and writing this the way it needed to be and not as a novella.
I am just allergic to authors who can not write in the right -means continually - tense.
The first quarter was the worst, afterwards it went smoother with the occasional slip up.
Still - I am no native english speaker and cringed SO hard. How is it possible to switch from past to present tense and back again in 3 sentences (sometimes in 1 sentence) without realizing the wrongness of it?
Story wise this was refreshing, a lot of workplace/sales related settings and plots.
The sex was interesting and kinky, but how it was written was not that spicy. I liked it just fine.
There was some deeper connection to both MCs missing for me. There was occasionally a lot of inner monologue, which still did not make me feel deeply involved with Masons feelings.
It was definitely as far from fluffy as possible, which for me is a very good thing. I liked the realism in the book and the personal growing of both MCs. But a lot was done off page.
The Work Trip, by Heath Grayson, a Male-Male romance novel, while it has its share of eroticism, the bulk of the story is about the evolving relationship between Mason and Alec and the complications involved. The author devotes considerable time to character development, so that we, the reader, can share in the intimacy of the thoughts and challenges that both men face. It is an interesting insight into the tacit and unspoken world which draws them together. The story starts out as a pure business trip, and over time, as the dynamics intertwine and resistance breaks down, the heated relationship ensues, but as secrets find their way into the spotlight - rough seas follow. For those who enjoy MM Romance, the author does a nice job of storytelling.
The smut and story was fucking amazing but the 3rd act break up (1 year long) made me lose interest. Then they go long distance(2 years) before finally moving in together.
