Retiring from the Boston Blues wasn’t part of the game plan. But after ending last season as a newly single dad, it felt like the only move Dex Larsen had left.

Joining the coaching staff came with an unexpected bringing his son, Miles, along to practices, games, and press events. It wasn’t perfect, but with no support system beyond his team, Dex needed someone who could bring order to the chaos— a nanny and homeschool teacher who could actually keep up.

On paper, Lucie Anderson was exactly what Dex was looking for. She was overqualified, comfortable with the demands of a pro baseball schedule, and in need of a job. The catch? She’s the sister of one of his players… and the same woman who caught his attention in a coffee shop just days ago.

Lucie’s looking for a fresh start, and this job offered exactly that. Being a part of Dex’s team isn’t exactly what she expected but baseball has always been a team sport for a reason.

Lucie’s the teammate Dex wants but isn’t entirely convinced he deserves. As the season heats up, so does everything between them. Hiring Lucie should have taken the idea of her off the table, but her light is becoming too hard to ignore.

omg this book was sooo fun. i was hooked the entire time. these characters were everything to me. also i didn’t realize this was the second book, so i will definitely be going back to read the first one. 🙂‍↕️

♡ ⋆。˚ lucie
literally radiates sunshine and happiness 🤭 i need a lucie in my life. she was just so sweet and patient with everything, which made me love her so much. she’s strong, selfless, and always gives her whole heart to the people she loves.

♡ ⋆。˚ dex
hot, ex-pitcher turned coach AND a single dad 🫠 like hello?? i loved how genuinely down bad he was for lucie, the man could not say no to her even if he tried. whether it was letting turtles into his apartment or stepping up in big ways, he always showed up. and the way he cared for miles just melted me.

♡ ⋆。˚ miles
the cutest little guy ever 🥹 he brought so much heart to this story. every single one of his moments had me smiling like an idiot. the way he looked up to lucie and how much she cared for him just made their family dynamic so special. he was truly the glue that tied lucie and dex together, and i adored him.

♡ ⋆。˚ lucie + dex
their relationship was everything i wanted 🥹 it felt so natural and healthy. built on trust, support, and little acts of love. they weren’t just romantic partners, they were teammates in every sense. i loved how lucie fit into dex’s life with miles and how much he valued her.

♡ ⋆。˚ final thoughts
this book was such a fun surprise, i couldn’t stop reading once i started 🤭 lucie and dex (and miles!!) completely stole my heart, and i loved how refreshing it felt to read this.

i had so much fun reading this book. i was smiling the whole time, just flying through the pages. i couldn’t wait to come back to it. it’s been so long since i’ve felt like this about a story. i loved the characters, i was obsessed, and i shipped them from the very start. even though their meet-cute could have felt rushed, it didn’t—it felt real and so well done.

༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆ 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁
i thought the plot was going to be really simple after the halfway mark—like, you know, single dad falls for the nanny, who’s also the star pitcher’s little sister. oh, and it’s an age gap romance. but it wasn’t silly, and the girl wasn’t immature. they didn’t use that as an excuse, which i really liked. and oh my gosh, i loved this plot. miles even gets his own chapter—the son—and he’s so adorable. this whole story just screams cuteness and good vibes. when there was a third act conflict (not with the couple) i teared up. i was full-on getting attached to these characters, guys.

⋆. 𐙚 ˚ 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

✿ 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻
she radiates sunshine—your happy hype girl. she’s a teacher who recently got fired, but she still has such a positive outlook on life. she doesn’t get upset over small things, and i love her minimal swearing. we don’t see a lot of characters who don’t swear, and as someone who doesn’t, it’s refreshing to read. i also loved how aware she was that he has a son and how she respected that. plus, her being a teacher just tied it all together. she’s caring, strong, and always steps up for the people she loves. as the youngest child, she’s used to others being caregivers, but here she becomes miles’s mother figure, helps her brother when he’s nervous about [redacted], and just gives her whole heart to everyone she loves. her perspective was so enjoyable to read from, and i can’t wait to see her in later books.

✿ 𝗱𝗲𝘅 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗻
you’ve got the hot, previous-pitcher-turned-coach single dad—guys, what more could we ask for? he is so, so down bad for lucie. he would literally do anything she wants. she has these two pet turtles in her classroom, and even though he doesn’t want pets in his apartment, he caves. she asks, he can’t say no. they weren’t even a thing yet—he had just asked her to be the nanny—and she’s like, “oh, i have these turtles,” and he just agrees because he’s so sweet. i’m obsessed with him and her; they’re such a perfect couple. and the way he loves miles? amazing. parents who genuinely care for their kids make me so happy. this book just screams healthy boundaries, healthy relationships—healthy everything.

✿ 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
⤿ beck and jensen — hello, what’s going on there? it’s giving enemies to lovers, it’s giving one-sided love, it’s giving hookup buddies, it’s giving secret and lowkey. it’s eating. please, i need this.
⤿ emma and tripp — they’re giving best friends to lovers. i don’t know if they’re telling their best friends, but they’re screaming it. it’s also giving unrequited love, maybe acts of service. they know everything about each other, and honestly, that’s all i need.

Mollie you beautiful genius 👏🏼

Some people might say the single dad x nanny trope is over done but I’m NOT one of those people. Mollie knocked this one out of the park. Mollie’s writing is like a warm hug that you didn't know you needed and this book was truly special.

Dex is our classic grumpy dad that's just trying to give his son Miles the best life possible but feels like he's failing miserably. Lucie is the ray of freaking sunshine that saves the day and knocks Dex on his ass and steals his heart.

Their love story is a little bit forbidden with a delicious age gap and tension that had me feral for their "f*ck it" moment and let me tell you, when these two came together it was electric. Mollie has a way of writing the best banter and then turning around and writing spice that will make you sweat. I can't really put into words how much I adore this world Mollie has created. I am attached to all of these characters and I can't wait for whats to come.

Thank you Mollie for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy. I am so grateful!

Плоско, дуже плоско. Нуль хімії між героями, нуль сюжету, нуль проблематики (про що книга взагалі, нащо вона існує?). Лише порожні діалоги, що повторюються раз за разом.

I really, truly wanted to love this but I just couldn’t get past the dialogue (over-explaining, repetitive) and the unnecessary attitude by the MMC. It didn’t make sense in the context of the story. I also didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. It just all felt a little flat for me unfortunately.

i liked the book and it was pretty easy and fun to read. i do have a couple of issues though:

what happened with the relationship??? like dex change his mind in 2 sentences. i just don’t understand how they moved so fast from roommates to lovers. because huh? it felt like i skipped a chapter or something. the feelings got out so abrupt and unexpected and i wish the tension was more pronounced, i guess.

i truly have nothing against single parent trope, but why making one of the parents villain? mom of miles was nice and had good relationships with her son. she carried for him and the boy couldn’t wait to spend more time with her. i understand the struggle and her making the decision, but i wish dex would at least try to keep the mom in his son’s life. at least visits or phone calls… because it just doesn’t sit with me, how out of nowhere she decided that 24 years old blonde girl (what she called her) is better than her in being a mom. she doesn’t even know her😭

Thank you, Mollie and LoveNotes PR, for this ARC. OMFG, this book!! I knew it was going to be one of my favourite reads this year, and I'm glad it not only lived up to that but surpassed it. I have loved every book Mollie has written, and this one was no exception. OMFG, I devoured it!! Where do I begin? Everything was just perfect; I could go on and on about it.

Dex needs a nanny for his son, and Lucie is looking for a job. So, guess what happens? DESTINY plays its part. Dex falls hard and fast from their first meeting at the coffee shop, but once she becomes his son's nanny, it becomes harder for him to resist his player's sweet, caring sunshine sister.

Dex was the definition of dark and broody - but I am not complaining — I devoured all those moments right from his hand. Not five minutes in after meeting her, and he already wanted to change his favourite colour to the dress she wore 😭. He was down bad, and he was so damn adorable, too. DADDY DEX was HOTT!!

Lucie, this girl made me feel so seen, and that's all I'm going to say about her — kidding. Lucie, our girl, brought happiness and radiance wherever she went. She was the epitome of sweet, patient, and kind. She had no ounce of hate within herself, and this character spoke to me in so many ways. She was perfect!!

Every moment these two shared was better than the previous one. The subtle flirting was so damn sweet and hot. I was screaming out of my soul. Oh, I loved them so much. The mutual pining killed me in the best way. These two were so adorable 😍.

The spice was jaw-dropping good.

I didn’t want their story to end. Dex and Lucie's story was unique, slow, sweet, emotional, and so damn precious — I could genuinely feel every emotion written in the chapters.

Side characters and plot —
1. Miles was the most adorable character — I hope this goofy kiddo never changes. Oh, and I missed his and Callie's bond!!
2. Mr. BECKHAM!! Oh, if I didn't already love you, I would have fallen for you in this book. This man was hilarious, sweet, and so damn cocky!! I loved it. His and Dex's friendship was just adorable. One was fire, the other was water. I can't wait for his and Jensen's book - their chemistry was off the charts. The continuous banter? Hilarious. Stealing You, I'm gonna love ya 💖
3. Will was already amazing in his book, but here he was perfection - his positivity radiated through the pages. He was already a good brother, but after this book, he became the best. His and Dex's dynamic was so good, I didn't expect it to go the way it did. But I also won't complain.
4. The group dynamics just got better — oh, and I also realised how badly I missed them.

The final chapter, followed by the two epilogues, were wholesome - heartfelt, loving, and so damn comforting.

The bonus chapter in Lucie's POV was a chef's kiss ✨️
Loved it, definitely recommended.

Coach Me by Mollie Goins
4,5/5⭐
2/5🌶️

I was excited to dive into this book after I read Pitcher Us, and it lived up to my expectations! I adored Dex and Lucie together. They have such different personalities, but they complement each other so well. From the very beginning, you can feel the tension and chemistry between them. Dex first meets Lucie in a coffee shop, and he’s instantly drawn to her, but he’s in a rush and doesn’t get a chance to know her better. Just when he thinks he won't see her again, he discovers that she’s actually the sister of one of the players he coaches and could be the perfect teacher and nanny for his son, Miles.

Dex is a grumpy single dad searching for someone to help care for Miles. When Callie suggests Lucie for the job, Dex is reluctant because he’s attracted to her. But with no other options, he ends up hiring her. Even though Dex can be a bit gruff and rude at times, he has a big heart underneath it all—he’s protective and really cares about the people he loves. I loved how he subtly looks out for Lucie and makes sure she’s happy.

Lucie is such a ray of sunshine! She’s kind, always smiling and laughing, and has a positive outlook on life. Being the youngest sibling, she’s determined to stand on her own two feet and wants to find her own path without relying too much on her siblings. I admired her drive for independence and how she genuinely cares for and protects Miles.

The relationship between Dex and Lucie is a wonderful slow burn. The tension between them is off the charts! I loved seeing how Dex is totally smitten with Lucie. He tries to keep his distance but can’t resist her light, often giving in to her wishes just to see her smile. It created such swoon-worthy moments! It was also great to see Callie and Will again; they’re just as adorable as ever, and I loved seeing how their relationship has developed. Overall, this was a feel-good romance filled with sweet, heartwarming moments and a touch of spice. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Okay, this one totally hit the sweet spot for me... sports romance + single dad + forbidden-ish vibes?? Yes please. 😍

Dex and Lucie’s dynamic was everything. The slow burn tension, the banter, the quiet moments that said so much… ugh, my heart. I loved the angst between them, it wasn’t over-the-top drama, but just the right amount of emotional tug-of-war that made every little moment between them feel earned and electric.

Dex is the grumpy ex-pro baseball player with a soft dad core, and Lucie is sunshine with a backbone. I adored watching them navigate their chemistry while trying to pretend the line between professional and personal wasn’t completely blurring (spoiler: it so was). And let’s not forget little Miles the actual scene stealer. 💙 And his love of Callie, so precious!

If you love a good slow burn with a side of sports, heart, and just the right amount of emotional messiness, this one's for you. Super swoony, a little spicy, and all-around adorable.

Benim yeni favori serilerimden biri oldu !!! Her kitabında kafayı yedim.

Dex’in aşkı çok güzel geçti bana.

I am OBSESSED with these two. I love the single dad x nanny trope but the fact that Dex was down bad for Lucie the SECOND he met her made this all the better.

I adored Lucie’s character so much. I related to her in so many ways, being the youngest sibling and really not fully knowing who you are outside of them and your family dynamic. Finding yourself is a journey and hers was so incredible. I loved watching Miles & Dex help her with that.

Speaking of Miles, their relationship was so cute. He seamlessly fell in love with Lucie just the way his dad did and it was absolutely adorable. I love when it’s a single parent romance and the kid plays a large part in the book - makes it feel that much more real and wholesome.

This book was fun and lighthearted while still touching on important topics without being too much or too deep. I loved every second of this read.

Coach Me was such a fun second book in the series, and I’m always here for a romance that has that little bit of this probably shouldn’t be happening energy, especially when it’s a nanny romance.

Miles completely stole my heart in this book. He brought so much happiness and warmth to every scene, and I adored how his joy shaped so many of the moments between Lucie and Dex.

Dex is absolutely the grumpiest kind of MMC, but that protective side of him, especially when it came to his son, made him so easy to love. Watching him slowly let Lucie in and soften little by little was one of my favorite parts of the story.

I really feel like this series keeps getting better with every book, and now I’m even more excited to start book three.

Dex and Lucie are the sweetest! I love the tension and the chemistry of these two characters. Also, the relationship that was built between Lucie and Miles was so adorable. I also loved that Lucie‘s brother was not overbearing when it came to Dex wanting to pursue a relationship with her. This was a slow burn, and when the spice hit, it was so nice!

e-ARC Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤️

Thank you to LoveNotes and Mollie for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
What can I say? I’m an absolute sucker for single dad, age gap, and nanny romances. I love them. I’m addicted.

This book was such an easy and delicious read—smooth pacing, the slow burn we all crave, and just the right amount of spice. Lucie is such a lovable character—full of charisma, attitude, and with the perfect touch to fit right into Dex’s life. With her yellow dress and her turtles, she slowly won over Miles, the 5-year-old who claims to be the “husband” of more than one girl in this story. I loved how he played his part: being the boy his dad needed, and unknowingly helping to cook up that sweet romance between Dex and his nanny.

And Dex… oh my Dex. The ultimate grumpy—always growling and brooding, but inside? Head over heels for his nanny from the very first moment. A man with his own baggage and a divorce behind him might not be every woman’s dream, but when he’s the right one… he’s the right one.

Tropes you’ll find:

⚾️ Brother’s coach

1.5🌶

I was a *little* concerned when I started reading this because I felt that Dex was almost toooo grumpy that he was borderline mean to Lucie, but I feel like he definitely redeemed himself in the end.

Lucie is the definition of sunshine. She is so mature for her age and so patient and caring for everyone around her. She was a breath of fresh air of an FMC and even though she was sweet and gentle, she wasn't afraid to be assertive and take charge when she needed to.

Miles really stole the show! He was hilarious and adorable. His reactions and comments he made were spot on with things my 5 year old says and does and had me cracking up.

I felt a *tiny* bit like Lucie deserved more from Dex though 😬😬 While you could tell he loved her, I needed more from him. He was just soooo mean to her and she just ignored it.

Overall, I had a good time and you can never go wrong with the single dad x nanny trope.

okay so like i loveddd the first book in this series and so i was really excited for this one. it kinda fell flat??? i really loved all the characters but the whole plot of her trying to find herself i feel like could’ve been written better. she barely does anything except nanny and the first (and only lol) weekend that his kid is gone is when they start dating and then she spends it all with him/going to the baseball games. like i get it but also i wished we got more of her actually finding things she enjoys doing for herself, not by the suggestion of other people/ for other people. she tries crocheting for the son, she goes to yoga because Dex tells her to, she goes on a run with her best friend, etc and she only likes 1 of those things. the only thing she did away from her job was get mani pedis with her best friend and talk about her job. i just wish she had a day off when they were at away games and she like went out to a bar and made some friends in the new location or went sight seeing on her own or something. i don’t even think that she like chose a man over finding herself because he was SO SUPPORTIVE of her finding herself, i just wish she actually did it??? i feel like by the end of the book she just found a new group of people to tie her life to rather than being herself and having that future with Dex. there are so many ways that she could’ve explored different hobbies without taking away from the romance of this book but they didn’t, she could’ve even tried something WITH Dex, like girl go out and have an adventure or something!!!! her whole thing is feeling like she just lets her life pass by while she is the supporting character surrounded around main characters and i can’t say that she has broken that pattern by the end of the novel.

I was honestly kind of expecting some sort of storyline about Dex’s life besides just being a dad but that didn’t happen? they mention his mom like once, but that never gets expanded on at all. i just wanted to know more about him and his life!!! idk this book just spent a lot of time establishing the family of Dex, Dex’s son and Lucie when i feel like they could’ve spent a little more time on each character individually and their pasts aswell. i also hated the whole “she’s so mature for her age” and the fact that came up pile 6 times???? just rubbed me the wrong way, like just accept ur into a younger woman don’t do that. after my review it may not seem like it but i did really enjoy this book and i had a really fun time reading it. i loved their family dynamic!

I have been dying for Dex’s book since he showed up in Pitcher Us and Mollie gave me everything I wanted and a whole lot more!!!

Dex was single dad, grumpy PERFECTION!!! When that POV flips and he was just dying because he liked her so much…I was SQUEALING with delight at how down bad he was. So possessive, he was such a softy for Miles and Lucie the way he protected and loved them was like no other. I loved that he took the relationship between Miles and Lucie so seriously, he really fostered their bond and let them be the sunshine in their team. Man was a down right babe, he would only need to wink at me and I would be on the floor.

Lucie was just a ray of sunshine. She was bright, mature but also quirky and trying to find who she is in life. She was wiser than half of the people older than her and always found the best way to bring people together. She really found a protector and fierce supporter in Dex and in sweet little Miles. She teaches you to find empathy in everyone’s situations (no really she’s probably a bigger person than me because people made me mad hahaha) and I found that a really interesting part of her personality.

The side characters had me laughing (Beck had me in fits of laughter, than man can do no wrong, I will back him any day) and played the support and found family beautifully.

Whatever Mollie writes, I will read. She really solidified herself as an auto read author for me!

Mollie! I absolutely loved this one. Gobbled it up in one sitting. Thanks so much to Love Notes PR for this ARC! Lucie is everything I want to be when I grow up. The way that she loved Miles and the way Dex spoke about her. Gah had me kicking my feet! Also of note: the way he thought of her as light and conveniently nicknamed her Luce when Luz means light in Spanish 😌 A round of applause for near perfect communication and no third act break up! I will be purchasing a physical copy of Coach Me asap 🫶🏻

I love when the MMC is grumpy because he wants her and thinks he can’t have her, and I love it even more when the issues holding him back are fairly easy to overcome and he doesn’t take a ridiculous amount of time to get there. The MMC sees her light from the start, and he knows that she will be good for his son, but he also wants to keep her for himself and doesn’t think that both are possible. The FMC has endless patience and just loves with her whole heart, and watching them work through the initial hesitation and relationship growing pains is so sweet.

The FMC is trying to figure out who she is without her siblings’ influence, and the way that was handled is perfect. Life can be a little messy but the people she surrounds herself with are so not toxic and they just want her to succeed in whatever she wants to do. There is a tiny bit of OW drama (the MMC’s ex & mother of his son), but the MMC doesn’t entertain it at all, and the way that it is resolved makes sense for these characters and their situation. I love the way the MMC checks in with the FMC after the events in the third act that cause a bit of tension (to put it lightly) and how much (thought the story, but especially in that scene) he shows her that he trusts her.

This is the kind of book that I just flew through because it was the perfect book for me at the perfect time. I love that the baseball isn’t an afterthought and it is important to the story, and that both MCs communicate and work together, even when it’s hard. The MMC’s son actually acts like a five year old which I appreciate and everyone (who matters) is deeply supportive of the little family they are forming. If you couldn’t tell, I really liked this book and am already looking forward to the next in the series!

*Thank you so much to the author (Mollie Goins) and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to ARC read this book! All opinions are my own*

I received an advance copy of this book from Love Notes PR in exchange for an honest review.

Coach Me by Mollie Goins is the baseball romance of your dreams! Dex Larson was the star pitcher for the Boston Blues, but everything changed when he became a single dad. Choosing to focus on raising his son, he retired from the sport he loved and took the role as the assistant coach for the team he once played for. Now, working as an assistant coach leaves him needing help at home. Lucie, a former teacher who just got laid off and is trying to avoid relying on her baseball star brother’s money, is the perfect pick for the nanny role since she knows the ins and outs of the grueling schedule. As Lucie and Dex spend more time together traveling with the team and caring for Miles, the lines between boss and employee start to blur.

Tropes:

✵ Single dad x nanny
✵ Forced proximity
✵ Brother’s coach
✵ Age gap

This one was so cute! With baseball season in full swing, it was the perfect summer read. This one was a home run for me! I loved the single dad angle, the age gap, and how Dex was broody, but still had such a soft spot for his son. Lucie took her job seriously, but still managed to help Dex loosen up and enjoy life a little more, which was so fun to see. Their chemistry felt natural, and I found myself giggling through so many of their moments together. Miles was also super cute! Sometimes I get annoyed by kids interrupting a story, but Miles was perfectly written into the plot in a way that he did not interrupt any moments between the characters. I loved watching these three come together as a little family unit.

If you’re looking for a quick, feel good summer romance, pick this one up! Mollie Goins knocked this one out of the park!

Thank you Love Notes PR for the ARC. I love this book so so much. This is the second book in the Boston Blues Series, but could also be read as a standalone. I devoured this book and cannot stop thinking about it. I haven't been giddy over sports romance in a few months and this def made me miss it. I love the found family aspect of this book and the close friendships that are formed between the baseball players. Reminds me of a different sports romance series.

This book follows the little sister of Will (book 1) who becomes the nanny for a GRUMPY former baseball player, who is now her older brother's coach. DEX LARSEN is literally the blueprint for all the guys out there. I HIGHLYYYYYY recommend reading this series. There will be 3 more books to come hehe. This was my first "AGE GAP" book and it was executed perfectly.

Tropes:
⚾️ Single dad x nanny
⚾️ Found family
⚾️ Brother’s coach

ARC REVIEW:

Dex is a recently divorced father to 5 year old Miles. He is the pitching coach for the Boston Blues and is drowning in trying to juggle work, travel, and being the best father.

Lucie is Will’s (book 1 MMC) youngest sister who dreams of being a teacher and becoming her own person. She loses her job and is thrown into babysitting Miles during a game when no one else can sit with him.

Dex needs a nanny/teacher for Miles and Lucie needs a job and place to live - nothing can go wrong, right?

The grumpy demeanor of Dex is matched perfectly with sunshine and rainbows of Lucie. The way they both fight their attraction because Miles is first priority is just beautiful. I loved the bloom of Miles relationship with Lucie.

Dex and Lucie are swoon worthy! And little Miles is just the kid that keeps on giving in this book! Pip and Pop need a bonus scene of their inner thoughts with this wild crew 🤣

Did I read 400 pages in just three days? Yes. And I think that pretty much sums up how much I have loved “Coach Me”. It is one of those books in which the relationship between the characters is so well crafted that you just do not want it to end. Fortunately, there is still much more to come from The Blues. And I have to say that I am so here for it! 🩵
