Secret love letters + a conspiracy + badassery = romance? Why, yes it does!
Staff Sergeant Justin "Hotten" Hauten isn't the smartest guy in the room. He just wants to be a regular soldier but finds himself mixed up kidnappings, government secrets, and the desire to figure out his feelings for Aaron.
First Lieutenant Aaron "Texas" Parris is in love with Justin and he isn't going to hold back anymore, even if that means getting involved in whatever mess Justin is in -- which is some pretty messed up crap.
Throw in a towering, red-headed lumberjackish (and trouble-making) best friend, bomb threats, under ground bunkers, kick-ass mothers, the Texan Badlands, a marriage proposal, a dim-witted ex-girlfriend loaded with secrets, a fancy Governor's party, plenty of fist fights, government spooks, and a seedy bar called The Itchy Nail, and you've got yourself a tasty recipe for disaster, humor, badassery, and... romance.
Can Justin and Aaron fall in love in the middle of all this madness?

"We that are true lovers run into strange capers.” - William Shakespeare
Staff Sergeant Justin "Hotten" Hauten is back home after receiving a bullet in his chest from his company commander during a reconnaissance operation in Afghanistan. Why it happened was perplexing enough and so were the love letters Justin was receiving from First Lieutenant Aaron "Texas" Parris. Justin's life will even get more puzzling in the days ahead as he confronts his feelings for Aaron while getting embroiled, together with his best friend and fellow soldier Specialist Sean "Nebraska" Walker, in all sorts of baffling circumstances.
My expectations while reading the complete series took a completely different turn. I was thinking that the first part would be okay, then the second one would still be all right and that maybe the last section would fall short somewhere somehow. I was wrong on all counts!
I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy reading all three books right after the other. The plot was packed with a lot of good stuff that had me hooked from the first page to the last. There were so many twists and turns, surprises and action-packed scenes that kept me entertained and laughing in some places - especially Nebraska's antics, his propensity for embellishing the truth and getting away with it! Then we ran into the "shady" characters whose true motives and loyalties added a "cloak-and-dagger" thrill and drama to the whole story.
I found this series unique in so many ways. Although I felt that the romantic angle between Justin and Aaron was not fully explored, I was willing to overlook and forgive it because of the other features included in the book which were right up my alley - suspense, mystery, comedy and intrigue. These elements more than made up for the "very slight romantic omission."
All in all, I would consider Falling for Him the best adult m/m romance book I have read this year! I was also excited to learn that Justin, Aaron, the indomitable, lovable and unforgettable Nebraska and the rest of the gang appear in a few of author Kelly Washington's stories. That would be like meeting new friends and reuniting with old ones!

I really don't know where to start with this book. It's told in three parts. and I don't feel like I can summarize the story without giving some major detail away.
As self published story it does have it's editing hiccups. There were times when I was reading the story (especially prominent in part 2) that I felt this was a hot mess. There was just so much suspicion thrown in among the characters. I felt like it was a feeding frenzy between friends, lovers and acquaintances. I think the way the author tried to keep the audience guessing didn't work and just made the story muddled. It just seriously came off as:
with everything that was happening or kept happening (it was a bit repetitive with the kidnapping and threats),
The characters though were very likable. Nebraska's antics were just amusing and I thought cute. Justin nonchalant attitude drew me just because he took everything in and didn't exactly let it bother him. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Oh, okay.. wow :'D Umm.. I LIKED IT! It was very different from the romancy stuff I've been reading, which is just what I needed. The blurb is reeeaaally convincing, which is great.
I bought the first part on amazon for FREE (I don't know if it still is), and then cam the rest of it.
The first part is more about the lust/love, the second is about the conspiracy, and the third is a mix of the two. But all three part is a whole story, it's just been divided into three parts.
There's the military, government conspiracy, lust/love... and then there's NEBRASKA. LoL :D
So all in all it's a funny, silly story (totally fiction) with all the above, the writing is good, and I enjoyed it, I wouldn't have minded a little bit more intimacy though.
I'll be honest, half the time I didn't have a clue what the hell was going on in this book. I didn't know who to believe, who was legit or who was the bad guy. Then again, neither did the main character.
I've also never read a m/m romance book where the two males paired spend so little time together, at least initially. It was... different.
Actually, all in all, I was very pleasantly surprised. This wasn't a romance book where the characters were military and went on wacky adventures. It was a wacky adventure story about a couple of military guys where two happen to have a thing for each other. The plot was complicated, confusing, hard to follow and utterly insane... and yet, this was far more believable than a lot of the wishy washy HEA stories I've read. The main character goes through an adjustment. He is confused, considers things, messes up, makes up, gets into arguments, gets into scrapes and somehow stumbles his way through to where to an answer and gets where he wants to be. The interactions are awkward and real and the characters are charming and delightful. I feel like I have made a bunch of new friends and despite reading this all in one go (I am writing this review at 2am), I feel sorry to have reached the end. I sincerely hope the author does continue with these guys and writes more about them. I'd love to read that

This book just didn't flow right with me. It seemed all over the place. I think it would translated better if it was a movie. The secondary character Nebraska absolutely stole the show. As for the main character, Justin. He seemed just confused as me. Things were just too convenient. It just seemed that things went from A to C to me and I either kept forgetting B or it was never there. Does that make sense. The story got repetitive with Justin and Nebraska (aka best friend and not the love interest) get pulled in for the same thing everyday. The romance isn't strong in this book. It is gay for you but okay one at that. They more interact between the best friends Nebraska and Justin. Why is Aaron in love with Justin with seems to be little to not interaction beforehand. It was bold of him to pursue someone presumably straight. As for Justin, he seems only to start being attracted to Aaron only because Aaron is so strongly attracted to him. This just wasn't the book for me.
This was the complete series all in one book, so glad to have them all together. This adventure that started out with Justin and his friend Nebraska in Afghanistan with a camera, follows them home. In the mean time Justin is getting letters from a secret military admirer, that when he gets home he figures out is Aaron. After that he and Nebraska are involved in a very interesting, but very confusing cloak and dagger mystery surrounding the camera and pictures Justin took. The story was very hard to follow and had too many characters that didn't matter. I never really understood the plot, even after it was explained. It had to many twists and turns.
It was good but way too much plot and so little romance for me. I mean... how did they even fall in love, man? There was no love there except for a couple words thrown in.
I'm giving it 4 stars just because the writing was good and I don't want to do the author injustice by rating it lower. But, in terms of enjoyment I'd give this maybe 2 starts because I wanted mm romance, not full on military stuff :D
Overall an enjoyable series. I liked the letters and sort of wished it went on a bit longer (slow burn anyone?). I wish there was a bit more to this though. I wanted to see how Aaron and Justin looked like together in the future but we didn’t quite get anything resolved or concrete about it. If there was a fourth book I would be gobbling that up.
What a mess... The idea is great and despite some stalker-ish love letters and crazy ex girlfriends I could have bought it... But it lacks background and development... Too many things happen in such a short time and some of them serve no purpose at all (the pregnancy? The proposal?).... It had potential but it was not developed in a satisfying way...

I don't know what to say about this book. It was confusing. For me, there was a lot of head scratching, eye rolling, frowning, and a lot of WTF???!!!
I can't even give you good a plot synopsis because I have no clue what the hell happened. And to classify this book as a MM romance is a stretch. There is like 1% MM anything going on and the rest is again, WTF? Do not read this expecting a real MM romance, there is a lot of comedy and I don't know if that was on purpose but it was just CONFUSING!!!!
I will do the best I can to describe what happens because even characters have no clue and there are a lot of random tangents that do not connect.
So Justin and Nebraska are for some reason taking pictures in Afghanistan during their tour. The rest of the book is centered around this camera and the pictures. This is just too bizarre. Justin's boss suddenly appears while he and Nebraska are out taking more pictures. But the boss isn't alone, and for some reason - we never know why - but Justin's boss shoots him in the shoulder, and I think I space out because I don't know what happens next except to say Justin is taken to a "hospital."
At some point Justin's group is sent stateside where apparently everyone lives because Justin, Nebraska and Aaron (don't ask) live in Texas, yet never knew each other before going to war. Odd.
Justin has the famous camera with him, he goes home to his apartment where eventually the comedic tragedy that is this book continues. I skipped - a lot - of this book because it was too ridiculous. There was no rhyme nor reason for what took place in this book. I'm surprised these people (everyone) isn't freaking dead in the gutter they are that street stupid.
This camera is supposed to be important yet every time the "bad guys" get it in their hands, they GIVE IT BACK!!!!!! what? Justin, Nebraska and later Aaron are continually "kidnapped" and never freak out. Nebraska is constantly cracking stupid jokes, the bad guys just roll their eyes and don't do anything scary, the 3 amigos (Justin, et al) are either let go or somehow just escape. I forced myself to finish this book but I had a headache by the end. Seriously, what the hell was this book about? And where was the MM romance? There was a little kissing, a little eye contact, some supposed (creepy IMO) love letters, a BJ or two, and then...nothing. Justin has been straight his entire life yet he is ready 100% to commit to Aaron just because. I can't say I would recommend this book because it was just too weird. It made no sense.
I think it's intended to be a comedy, but it could have been better if A.) the MM aspect was removed because it wasn't even part of the story anyway, B.) the stupidity aspect was removed because nobody in their right mind is going to just laugh at a bad guy with a gun and get an eye roll in return with a head shake as if the bad guy is reprimanding a 3 year old! C.) Remove characters; there were too many people in this book, and some of the characters didn't make sense, nor what they did. For example, Julia is - we learn - undercover yet somehow she becomes pregnant by Aaron's brother, but Julia and Nebraska we are led to believe end up together. Aaron's brother has about 2 seconds of play and we never hear from him again. So why is Julia pregnant, why is Aaron's brother mentioned? It HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTING!!!!!
There is a lot of misinformation as the characters try to figure out why the camera is important, and NOBODY KNOWS WHY - not even the people who are after it know why they want it. I think, again I am guessing here, that there was some kind of kidnapping sex trade going on and Justin's boss was allowing the bad guys to believe he was on their side while trying to learn the details, and I guess the pictures Justin took gave a clue (don't know) and the book ends with the bad guys being taken away (they could have been arrested like 5 times already by the way) and the 3 amigos just taking it all in stride.
If you understand anything about what I said, good for you! There are not enough words to describe how confusing this book was. It was too long, some of the confusion lies in the fact that it just kept going on , and on, and on. Please spare yourself the headache and just trust me when I say this book was like circus clowns on steroids taking speed and red bull. WTF?

2.5 stars rounded up.
Okay... So where do I start...
I was really looking forward to this, okay. I read the first part of it for free a while ago and I thought it was off to a good start with Justin getting love letters from an unnamed admirer and then getting into some scraps with his officer, and then emerging victorious. He returns to America a (minor) hero and then he finds out who his admirer is. It was all going great. Looking forward to the second part.
Then in the second part everything blows up and I was left scratching my head, wondering what I was reading.
The plot is all over the place. Sort of like my dog when she catches scent of chicken, running averywhere and skidding and chasing her own tail and stuff. The 'bad guys' were a farce, and the way the story moves from point A to point B was random and bizarre and seemed to have no logical reasoning behind them. At times I wondered if I had missed something but I went back to read and found out I hadn't. It was just so difficult to keep track of, and so difficult to believe too!
There isn't much in the way of romance really, and that was what I was really looking forward to. I mean, Love letters were involved! But nope, the romance takes back stage to the overall story. I wouldn't have minded that, I rather like a good thriller, but this was very difficult to take seriously. There's only a certain amount of lines I can try to untangle before I want to just take a match to it and laugh as it burns.
I liked all the characters, Justin who's about just as confused as I am, Nebraska, who's also as confused and likes to joke around, Aaron, the poor guy who's pulled into this because of Justin (he's more confused than I am, I think) and Aaron's Mom (she wasn't very confused, but I think that's because she gave up on the whole enterprise), and the mysterious Mary Lovecross (she's the only one in the whole book who isn't confused, I swear to God).
I think this book would have benefited greatly with some more description and proper explanations. I was expecting some resolution and some proper explanations, but everything just felt like a wild, wild goose-chase to me. It's been a few hours since I read the book and I am still flummoxed.

I really wanted to like this book, I read the first book a few months ago and liked it, but never go around to read the next two books, so I was glad I got the opportunity to read the complete series and find out what happened next.
This story has a lot of potential, I really loved the love letters from Aaron and wish there would have been more focus on them and their meaning and foundation for Aaron and Justin’s relationship. And Nebraska and his storytelling was great! (Wonder if he’d recognize the truth if it hit him over the head?)
I found that the second and third book was too messy and broken down, and to be honest a bit confusing at times, there were too many threats and conspiracy theories and the bad/good guys kept changing back and forth too often for my liking. I like books where the “mystery” isn’t obvious from page 1, and that leads don’t always pan out or have bearing (as all leads in reality doesn’t always pan out), but I still want to have some logic behind all of it, and I was missing that in this book.
I would have liked to see more of Aaron though. He was a solid character but always only in the background waiting for Justin to get his act together. I like that this book wasn’t an angsty read (not a big fan of those) but I would’ve liked for Aaron to show some other emotion than love, longing and waiting for Justin. I also felt that their actual relationship happened out of the blue, I mean part from the letters they really didn’t know each other, but still a week after they get home from the war they are an item, especially since Justin had been straight previous to Aaron. There was potential for this book, but I have to admit to being disappointed.

It's a little hard to figure out where to start with this one. I guess a good place would be to say that I enjoyed this book. I am rating it at around 3.5 stars, which for me means that I liked it but probably won't be rereading it (which I do if I really like something).
The idea of the story line for this book was really interesting and, I thought, creative, totally unlike anything else I had every read (always a good thing). I enjoyed the idea of the anonymous letters written because the author's feelings were so strong he just had to do something about them.
The main problem I had with this book was that it was a little overwhelming and a lot confusing to read. I think that the author had strong ideas for the story but things got kinda muddled in the execution. Once the action got going, everything started happening all at once, from the captain with the unclear motives, to the agents who get their orders from some mystery source, to the not as stupid as she seems not-girlfriend, to the news reporter, to the pictures, and everything else in between, I have to admit I got a bit lost as the action picked up, though I was pretty much able to sort my way through it.
Overall it was good, though there was one point, that I absolutely hated because it was such an asshole move.
You have to kind of suspend your disbelief of certain situations for a while until things start making sense, but I would recommend it to anyone who likes their m/m romance with a good dose of fast paced action/adventure, lots of suspense, and a little bit of a military action on the side.

Falling for Him is a three book series in one. Overall, I've given the book a three star rating, but have also broken each book down.
FALLING FOR YOU is Book 1 - 3 stars. I'd previously read this story as a freebie and was intrigued by the military espionage and secret admirer angle that the author was going for. The book ends on a cliffhanger, which always drops a story for the irritation factor. I'm good with HFN endings, not so good with the leaving me hanging. Still the trying to figure out who was sending the letters and just why Hotten was being asked to take all those random pictures drew me in. The reveal of his crush was sweet.
HUNGRY FOR YOU is Book 2 - 2 stars. This book was all about the mystery, doing little to advance the romance except on the most basic of getting to know you levels. The characters were all over the place, literally and figuratively. The plot line became a confusing mess, a tangling of who's who and what's what. I found the mystery very confusing to follow. A couple of the kidnappings were the best humourous scenes of the book. I did find it unbelievable that they were so beaten up physically but were able to still keep going strong.
READY FOR YOU is Book 3 - 4 stars. Finally the romance between Hotten and Paris goes somewhere, although the sex scenes fell flat for me. Along the way, we learn what really is going on and the true enemy is revealed and dealt with. Definitely the best of the three stories, but you have to get through the first two to get here.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review .
In my Honest Opinion, It was hard to read. I enjoyed the pacing of the books, and each character was well rounded. But as a whole, it wasn't what I was expecting.
I was drawn to reading this series by the idea of the love letters and I was led to believe that that was the Main reason for the books. But as it went on, more and more plot over powered the love letters and in the end, I found the multiple plot lines muddled and obscured the romance I longed for so badly.
I kept hoping to turn the page and find the main love interests, Justin and Aaron, holding hands or....anything. I felt the relationship was barely a relationship and even as a Gay For You it was hard to accept.
I'm not sure I could recommend this series for anyone looking for a good love story, but if you're looking for a complicated, mildly hard to follow, conspiracy story with well developed, easy to love characters, this just might be the page turner you're looking for.

I really enjoyed this book. I laughed and had many moments of WTF is happening now? This book may not be enjoyable for those that like to easily glide through a story or don't like intensity from start to finish. Honestly, now that I have had a few weeks since I finished the story, I feel the author gave me an adventure. You know, one of those adventures that you keep telling over and over because it never gets old. One time when all Justin wanted to do was to concentrate on Aaron...(that is supposed to be phrased like one time at band camp). The romance was a light and airy tone blanketing all the crazy action. The book was well written and I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a funny yet suspenseful story while two people romantically find each other. Thank you Kelly Washington for a crazy ass adventure with a touch of romance. I would love to read an adventure starring Nebraska!!!

This book had a lot of things in it that I like. Military men falling in love, letters from a secret admirer, quirky and funny best friends, and a mystery to solve. Going in I had high expectations for the book thinking I would love it and while I did enjoy it, I did not love this one.
In my opinion, Nebraska stole the show and I never really felt much connection to Justin and Aaron. Would have liked to see more time spent with the love letters, and why Aaron fell for Justin. What drew the two together?
Overall this was an easy read for me. I enjoyed the easy flow of the book and the mystery keep things interesting. I did enjoy the book but not one I will likely reread.

I really enjoyed this story! There was mystery, intrigue, friendship, and a little romance built in. There were definitely times when the story seemed like it was going in crazy directions, but I enjoyed the complexity to the characters and the story. I loved Nebraska. He was too much fun. I wasn't bored at all while reading it, and I was looking forward to what happened next. I am interested in reading more from this author. I'm glad I found her!
