Until my new “boyfriend” walks into a bar and my best friend gets fate-induced heart-eyes at first sniff.
So, I bow out with grace and maturity… by running from the bar and jumping behind the wheel of my car in the middle of a snowstorm. When I find myself lost on an unfamiliar road outside of town, everything suddenly goes blank.
Luckily, three alphas that smell a lot like mine come to my rescue. I can’t remember anything except my name, and we’re stuck in the middle of nowhere with no cell signal or internet, but I feel… safe.
Rhys is carefree and exciting, even if his skills in the kitchen are lackluster compared to what he offers in the bedroom. There’s kind, quiet Percy, who shows me just how much he wants to take care of me in every way. And there’s Knox, the head alpha of the pack, an aloof artist who isn’t ready to welcome me with open arms. He isn’t throwing me out, either, so there’s still hope.
My fantasies of happily ever after and multiple orgasms suddenly don’t seem so far-fetched. But I should know better…
There’s always a plot twist.
Pack Down Bad is a new Omegaverse standalone by Cassie James and Drea Denae. This is a why-choose story where the men are just as connected to each other as they are to the main female character.
Relationship MMMF
Scent-matched pack, grumpy alpha, golden retriever alpha, amnesia, anything to keep her, trapped on the mountain
Received this as an ARC from the authors, but sadly, I have to admit that I didn’t enjoy this book and I was really frustrated while reading the entire time, mostly because of the lack of plot. The only plot there seems to be is “it’s omegaverse and things happen because that’s how omegaverse is supposed to be”.
The conflicts weren’t really conflicts and got solved automagically and within the span of one paragraph. And while I very much understand that insta-love is a core concept within many omegaverse stories, especially when scent-matches are a thing, I found the bond between Belle and the guys to be extremely superficial and unbelievable. We never do learn what draws them together other than their scent-match and sexual attraction, and that's just not enough for me personally.
I don’t know, I was really excited to read this as I do like me some why choose omegaverse, especially where all parties are involved with each other, but this didn’t do it for me. If insta-love is your jam and you don’t really need plot with your porn, then this book will be perfect for you.
Just raw dog it & enjoy this knotty read 😛 I had a fun time with this one & there was literally so many hot af scenes that’ll make your 😽 throb so WHOOOOP WHOOOOP!!
First of all, you have to completely ignore that this is not how amnesia works to enjoy this book - which I could not do. Honestly, this doesn’t even need the amnesia trope and would have worked better without it. It hinders the relationship development and leads to a stupid lie for a not good reason on the men’s part. This was more telling than showing. It also felt like omegaverse was being explained in the book as if these characters don’t already know what’s up. It wasn’t smooth and stood out in a bad way. Maybe this would work OK for an omegaverse newbie, but it did not work for this seasoned reader. The Alphas were already in physical relationships. The addition of the MM parts felt perfunctory and not at all romantic or special. The sex scenes were...fine. It felt like reading choreography. In the last few chapters, the FMC kept saying how much they knew each other. Um, how? For 2 days you didn’t remember who you were, then the next 3 or 4 days you had a heat. And no deep conversations happened. Their connection is based purely on the scent match. There’s also a running joke about one of the Alpha’s bad cooking - while he thinks he’s making gourmet meals. Ain’t no way I would be eating such gross food forever just to avoid an uncomfortable conversation. That did him no favors. I wanted to love this and it’s exciting to get new OV authors, but I don’t give out positive reviews for participation. I’m not sure how well read these authors are in OV. This lacked all the specialness of the genre.
This was good for a first dive into omegaverse. You can easily finish this in one sitting. It's MMMF. Cute and fluffy. Pretty dece intro to ov.
With the amnesia trope being a major plot point in this, it felt unnecessary at times. In my eyes, it dumbed down the characters. They way Belle just easily accepted the nonsense these men were feeding her. Girl, please. And Rhys. Rhys! I'm a sucker for a silly, goofy golden retriever. But this man is just an idiot and his entire pack is just feeding his delusions. None of that would fly if they didn't live in the middle of the woods away from society. I think it bothered me most cause he's messing with food. Nah, fam. Sit this man down and tell him his food sucks. His POV was also just incredibly cringy to read. I'll probably read the next book. Cause based on context clues, it would appear Jason and Mia aren't together. and I need to know why!
3 This is the book where I find out omegaverse doesn’t always mean werewolves LOL
It was cute but in reverse harems there’s always a delicate balance between the partners that should be carefully crafted. When the balance is skewed one partner comes off as more important than the others which always brings a rating down for me.
Also, for them to be hard on “no more lies” they sure weren’t bringing that same energy when it came to Rhys’ bad cooking. TELL HIM PLEASE
Had the opportunity to read this as an ARC and I was very grateful for it. It was just not my jam.
Again it was alle the same, like every other Omegaverse out there. So much lust and so very little love. It had potential but it wasn’t quite there, maybe the next one will be better.
For authors who had never written an omegaverse before, they nailed the brief. There is so much to unpack in such a small book, with plenty of banter and twists as well as spice. A very easy read, low angst, and no true third act break up. The mmcs are an established pack, and one of them stumbles across her in a snow storm, only to discover it's his scent match. Well written, plenty of drama to keep me entertained, and even though this is a standalone, there is an incredibly cruel "cliffhanger" to lead into the next standalone. Loved it, looking forward to the next.
This is a love story, where the FMC loses herself, where the MMCs lie to her to keep her close, her journey to rediscovering herself and learning what she can and cannot live without. This is a sweet book. The perfect palette cleanser when you’ve read one too many dark or angsty books.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to review a book that is so easy, where the biggest hurdle seems to be the half a cup of cinnamon in the waffles, which one of our MMCs, our sweet, loving, golden retriever, the king of questionable decisions and even worse cooking, claims is the best way to have them. And because the pack is perfect, they refuse to tell him the truth, unconditionally supporting each other despite the uneatable food. (Don’t get me wrong, I could never live like that, it is a massive issue. Food is life, and my God, you cannot survive on love alone.)
It’s a refreshing and extremely enjoyable book with humour at every turn. I applaud the authors for this story, I would never have guessed that this was their first time writing an omegaverse, in general the expectations will be low when it’s a new genre for someone, but this didn’t become obvious until the afterwords at the end of the book, discovering that just made me appreciate the book more, this was a beautiful piece of work that was extremely well executed and I’m beyond proud to recommend to anyone in need of a “light” read, of something fluffy and sweet.
This was an enjoyable standalone Omegaverse with a good mix of drama, heat, and found-family vibes. The amnesia setup worked well for creating tension, and being snowed in with three alphas definitely kept the story moving.
I liked how distinct each of the pack members felt — Rhys brought the carefree energy, Percy was the sweet caretaker, and Knox had that perfect grumpy, reluctant-alpha edge. Their dynamic together, along with their bond to the FMC, made the romance believable and fun to read.
The pacing was steady, with enough twists to keep things interesting without bogging down the story. It had both spice and heart, making it a solid why-choose Omegaverse with a satisfying HEA.
Cute quick read, the beginning with her best friend finding her scent match then it being teased throughout the book made the “hint” about a second book feel forced. 4 chapters straight of smut though definitely made up for some of the plot gapes, all together a decent read 😊
I absolutely loved this!! It was a super sweet book with no angst or highly challenging behaviour from either party. It was perfect cosy love story! I've waited so excitedly for this book and it really paid off!! I'm excited to hear Mia's Story now.
This book was absolutely adorable. I enjoy a good cozy omegaverse. This one is so light hearted and sweet. Belle is a romance book lover (who isn't 🫣) and the pack she finds are all dedicated to her from the beginning.
No angst, no intense drama, just a feel good story that left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
ARC read: This was a cute read for sure, albeit a little cheesy. I would classify this as a cozyverse read where there isn’t that much drama, just sweet vibes.
i'm sorry. i really wanted to like this. i really wanted this to be fun. but i just have so so so many problems with this book.
first of all, belle is a bad friend. and i'm not even talking about how she ditches her best friend at a bar in the beginning. but at the end, when she and mia are reunited, and mia is like "hi, remember when you ditched me at a bar with your ex boyfriend who turned out to be my scent match?" and belle's response is "i don't care, i don't want to hear about that." like...hello?? you left her there with a guy that yes, was her scent match, and yes, was unfortunately dating you when he discovered that fact, but to mia, this guy is a stranger?? and you left her with him???
second of all, this is clearly meant to be a sweet and fluffy kind of romance. this is not a dark romance, the guys are not established as being "bad" or "morally grey" (with the exception of one of the guys describing themselves that way.) and by that i mean there's no other aspect of their lives that they do anything "morally grey" or ethically wrong or whatever else. and so the fact that they basically take this girl hostage and have sex with her under false pretenses feels gross when it's supposed to be within the context of a sweet, fluffy romance.
if the book itself were a dark romance, and the guys were already described as being unethical, then i would completely understand. but instead of that, this feels like the movie overboard, where they just take advantage of her amnesia in order to keep her there while actively lying to her the entire time.
and then belle finds out that they lied to her and still chooses to stay with them for her heat, which just sort of makes her seem unbelievably stupid. thankfully, we're all meant to understand that the guys are good and they didn't mean to lie or whatever. but if you find out that the guys you've been staying and sleeping with for the last 5 days have been lying to you and manipulating you the entire time just to keep you from leaving, wouldn't your first thought be that you don't want to spend your heat with them because what if they bite and bond you without your permission also to keep you from leaving?
and then in the end, she decides she needs to leave and get some space. and i kinda expected that this was going to be her deciding that maybe they need to take a step back and go on some dates, spend some time courting, since she's known these people for maybe a week, and they've been lying to her for all of it.
but no, she mopes around for a few days, comes back, and immediately asks them to bite and fuck her. it was just such an unsatisfying story. there's no real character or plot development or introspection or anything and all these characters are just so static the entire time.
Pack down bad is the first omegaverse book for these two incredible authors and what a way to start in a new sub-genre!
Pack down bad has a little bit of everything! It’s got some fun re-imagined fairytale ties, hot men, a strong determined but soft FMC, a completely delulu golden retriever providing laughs, great steamy scenes and a good story!
I loved every second of this light hearted cozy read! It definitely made me wanna get “snowed in” in the mountains somewhere with a hunky man!
Belle (the FMC) starts the story with a rough night that turns even crazier when she gets stuck driving through a snowstorm and crashes her car suffering some temporary amnesia. Even though most of the book she is trying to remember herself she is falling for the three alphas who are not only her scent-match mates but rescued her from the snowstorm Belle’s story is so heartwarming. I loved that she was sassy and bratty and spoke her mind with the guys (except when it comes to a certain alpha’s cooking). She wants so much to be loved and for things to work with her alphas but it never comes across as needy (in a bad way) or desperate. She’s so sweet and adorable I really loved her! I loved that she’s a romance author and I love the little nod to Disney with her pen name.
The pack! O M G! I loved Knox and his intense need to take care of everyone in his pack! He cares so deeply even if it comes of kinda grumpy! Percy was the level headed caring light one of the pack and I loved Percy and Belle’s connection (if u know u know) that was a fun surprise! He was the softness that Belle needed. Last but never least Rhys! Omg he had me laughing with his points of view especially in chapter 20! He’s the definition of golden retriever energy and the chaos of the group in a fun way. He brought the levity and flirty energy to the book from the start.
I truly loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one!
This was a fun, lighthearted read. I enjoyed each of the characters and their chemistry with one another.
The writing keeps you intrigued, I love their take on OV, and the storyline sucks you in. I liked that the amnesia trope didn't last the entire book - she remembers at 44%.
However, on a slight side note- I wasn't overly fond of how the guys had no concern for her amnesia 😅 Like a head wound that causes amnesia is cause for concern. You can't just visually say oop that's temporary, it's fine y'all 😅 At best, she'd have a concussion, at worst, there could be internal bleeding. But this is a book, and it's just a finicky thing, haha
Fav Quote: "Breakfast is a specialty of mine, so I'm a little disappointed that the others beat me to the kitchen this morning. Knox and Percy are both okay in the kitchen, but their meals pale in comparison to mine."
The fact that the guys sit through his horrid meals an encourage him in something he enjoys despite how bad he is at it, is adorable and shows how supportive the pack is.
I kinda feel like Mia was a better friend to Belle than Belle was to her so I desperately want her story haha (I mean yeah it sucked for Belle but it wouldn't have been fmgreat for Mia either. It's awkward, and she'd feel guilty that fate would have her 'betray' her best friend. They obviously had issues, and she needed to talk bout it, but Belle was just like honestly I don't care about it and not ready to hear it, but I really want to talk about my matches now.
Also, shout out to that dedication! Haha as an Aussie I can relate to those times after a night on the piss 🤣 Made me crack up!
Honestly? The idea behind the story was fine, kinda similar concept to a lot of romance novels in the whole "got lost in the snow and saved by a hunk i then fall in love with when he brings me to his cabin" plot that is not a new idea. I felt like this book was quite lack lustre in the actual relationship aspect about it too, like at no point does Belle actually get to know much about the guys in her few days with them before she says she loves them. Even as a reader seeing the dual POVs didn't help to retain much information past what was said in the book description about them. Belle may be an author that writes romance novels, but there was no romance actually had in her own. I also found that the steam was weird in that it was vague it what they were actually doing but for some reason the positions in which they were in were so detailed that it was actually hard to imagine the logistics of them. Also, the fact that they hid from Rhys how awful he was at cooking just seemed like a bad point for a relationship, then followed with the very out of the blue insane ego he had in his own POV about how he was the best cook and that Belle wasn't very good was an absolute turn off for me from even liking him as a character. Rhys was described as a golden retriever for some reason and I don't get why because he doesn't fit that at all.
I don't know, I just wasn't wowed by this book. It was like nothing really happened and I wish there was more depth to the storyline and the characters themselves.
Meh. I had some problems with the basically the whole thing. There's the amnesia thing, not super believable, but what do I know. The whole "betrayed by best friend" thing, uh, no, sounds like you were only okay with the guy, and fate/biology decided that he wasn't the guy for you, maybe a disappointment, but take a second to say "well, f*ck" and then be happy for your best friend! And pat yourself on the back for your matchmaking skills! Seriously, if you weren't crazy about him (which you said later), then celebrate the success for ditching him now before you got attached, or got busy and ended up with awkward relationship with bestie. Also, how come you lied to said "best friend" about him being hung up in traffic vs no clue where he is?? If she was really your best friend, why would you need to save face?? Wouldn't you share all those reasonable fears running through your head about being ghosted?? So weird. Maybe omegaverse are just inherently problematic (random biology-based caste system definitely sounds anti-American; and the whole "can't hep myself, sex sex sex" thing... puts me in minds of drugs/exploitation/sexual assault) and it takes a deft hand to run with the genre without the ick factor, I admit there's only been a couple I enjoyed. I guess I'm old school, and if we're talking about Alphas I want werevolves. What I don't want is this, it's definitely not my cup of tea.

This was such a great standalone! I really enjoyed Belle's story from start to finish. The pacing was done really well, the plot kept me interested, the characters were well developed and the spicy scenes were great! It is a medium burn and a slight fast paced relationship but it is scent matches as a trope so it is understandable and doesn't take away from the story for me. Mia's character appears here and there throughout and her story is teased as being next so looking forward to that. Can't recommend this standalone enough if you're looking for an omegaverse standalone as a break from other reads. Just fluffy all around, no major unnecessary drama and great spice.
Belle's personality fits so well with her pack/love interests greatly and liked how sweet she is normally compared to how bratty she was during heat. Knox's grumpy nature with his artist job meaning he feels emotions deeply was a nice touch and love Rhys tormenting him online with "art daddy"! Knox definitely has the dominant trait and I'm here for it. I enjoyed Rhys' delusion about his cooking and how the others keep protecting his feelings despite how bad it truly is. Percy is a sweetheart and adore how Belle and he have the connection before they knew what it was! It was a great touch having their careers so intertwined without them knowing of each other personally.
I can’t stop smiling and feeling so warm and fuzzy! Pack Down Bad has been so much fun, and honestly, I couldn’t get enough. I hated putting it down, but I loved picking it back up. Omegaverse, forced proximity, and why choose… say less! I’m so excited for Mia’s story. Honestly, Drea and Cassie—KEEP THESE STORIES COMING!
Belle has finally found someone she wants to introduce to her best friend… until he ends up being her best friend’s scent match. What else could possibly go wrong? How about wrecking in the middle of a snowstorm, losing all your memory, and trusting three alphas to help you? I immediately loved Belle. Her character was so enjoyable and easygoing—I just loved her so much.
Knox, Rhys, and Percy have always wanted to find an omega who will love them… but what they didn’t expect was a pink-haired omega with no memory—except that she just wrecked her car. Knox was immediately standoffish, but still gave off all the right alpha vibes. Rhys is instantly obsessed with Belle (and I always love a cinnamon roll!). Percy… oh Percy, I love you! Honestly, all of these guys were perfect, and I adored them.
This story is just a breath of fresh air. I felt so good while reading it. I couldn’t stop smiling, and at times, I had to cover up the blush creeping in! Pack Down Bad is one of my new favorite reads, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Go read it!!
Rating- 2.75 ok but with issues Heat- 3.5 Tropes- sweet omegaverse, MMMF, scent match, amnesia
This is a cute, fluffy read as long as you don’t take it at all seriously. When running away after discovering her boyfriend and best friend are scent matches, Belle is rescued from a snowstorm by her own fated pack. If we had stopped right there with the plot, I would have no complaints. I particularly enjoyed the moments when all of the guys met Belle and recognized her as their match. Unfortunately, so many of the additional plot points made no sense. Belle crashes her car and has amnesia. Are the men concerned? Do they get her medical attention? Nope. They all act as if a head injury that makes you forget who you are is as common and simple as a scratch. Instead the men seem to view her amnesia as a way to force her to spend time with them. Apparently they are terrified she will reject them because they have been rejected by so many omegas. What’s this major flaw that sends women running? They live 30 minutes outside of town. Oh, the horror!
I really think this is a case where a simpler girl-meets-boys plot would have worked better.

This is a great quick read and probably going to become a staple comfort read for me. The way the men are so attentive and utterly obsessed 😍 is absolutely THE BEST! This is delicious, fluffy, low-angst, devotion that I simply EAT UP!
Add it to your list! Settle in for a good time! I had a smile on my face (almost) the whole time! I cannot wait for the next book!!!
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My opinions are my own. Thank you!
That Little Cabin in the Woods song never had the happy ending Belle gets in Pack Down Bad.
Belle is lost in more ways that just on the map. She just found out her boyfriend is not her forever. How is she supposed to write romance when her love life is fizzled?
Knox, Rhys, and Percy are a pack in search of their mate. They are three yummy alphas who are creative, possessive, and pacing in more than one way. Their only problem is that their new house guest can't remember her life before she ended up in the ditch and quickly made her way into their heart.
Pack Down Bad is a fun read that will have you wanting to take a long drive on a dark night hoping to find your own cabin full of wolves. And will definitely have you sniffing hunky guys and hoping for a little library in the woods.
Overall, Pack Down Bad was okay. It was a quick and easy Omegaverse read but definitely not something that will stick with me. One star alone for boyfriends being boyfriends.
After getting into a wreck, Belle (FMC) is rescued by Rhys (1 MMC) and he immediately realized they’re scent matched. He takes her back to the packs home where Knox and Percy (MMC 2 and 3) slip into the roll of grumpy and laid back to counterbalance Rhys’s goofy side.
It all felt rushed and predictable. The whole book basically takes place over the course of a week and they somehow convinced her their cabin was hours away from town with no cell service or wifi.
Thank you to the author for a chance to ARC read. If a potential reader is here, and looking for something quick and lighthearted then this may be a book you’ll enjoy.
This book was exactly what I needed it to be! Loved the 3 male Alpha pack members, Knox, Percy and Rhys. The main character's name is Belle. The story starts off at a bar and quickly the scenario in the book changes and there was a meeting of fate that occurs between her and one of the Alpha's in the pack. I love a good Omegaverse book and this one was SO good! The 3 Alpha males are all best friends but also partners, it's giving my boyfriend has a boyfriend that is also my boyfriend, and I know so many girls are into that scenario (girl, same!) This book is a quick read and a ton of spice. I ate this book up within a day of starting it. I absolutely recommend! I'd love more of this story line and these characters.
Also all the comments about how terrible of a cook Rhys is had me DYING laughing.
I loved this book. Belle is an omega who wants her best friend to meet her beau, but alas, Jason and Mia appear to be scent matched. With a broken heart Belle leaves in the middle of a snowstorm and wrecks her car.
She is saved by an alpha named Rhys who brings her to his pack that live in a cabin in the woods. She meets broody grumpy Knox and quiet Percy. Belle doesn’t realize she is close to home because the alpha lied to her and said she is hours away from town. These three alphas are her scent matches.
I just love these characters. Rhys and his delusions about his Michelin star meals. Grumpy Knox, who is really just a big softy, but doesn’t know how to live with himself with the dishonesty. Percy, the reader, editor, and chill guy has just stole my heart.
Pack Down Bad was my first dip into the Omegaverse, and while it took a bit to adjust to the dynamics, it was an intriguing ride. This story definitely differs from the usual shifter romances I’ve read—especially with all the Alphas being not only mated to the Omega, but also to each other. That twist gave the relationship dynamics an extra layer of intensity.
The spicy scenes were very hot and well-written—no complaints there! But I found myself wanting a bit more depth in the plot. The story seemed to lean more into the steamy moments than the worldbuilding or character development. If you’re looking for heat and group dynamics with minimal angst or complex storylines, this definitely delivers.
Overall, a solid intro to the genre—fun, sexy, and different. Just don’t expect a super thick plot.
I love receiving arcs for books that I signed up for but don't remember what they are about. I went into this mostly blind and it was so good!! I really loved the characters, I thought the amnesia thing was going to be something completely different but I loved this so much more and I love how everything came together at the end. it was such a sweet book! my new favourite microtrope is an Alpha that can't cook while his Pack pretends it tastes good so they don't hurt his feelings. all the while, he thinks he is a great cook and pretends that the food his Pack made is good so he doesn't hurt their feelings. lmao! i love it! i highly recommend reading this. especially if you like sweet, low angst reads with light hostage situations.
