Fated Wolf's Redemption: A Fated Mates Paranormal Romance

Rate this book
He’s the enemy I can’t resist. I’m the chaos he can’t control.

I’m Sophia McKenna, Windrider by blood, wild by choice. We don’t settle. We don’t belong. And we sure as hell don’t fall for possessive, snarky wolves with golden eyes and infuriating growls. But Lucas Stone is a problem I can’t outrun. One kiss, and I knew our bond isn’t just fate. It’s fire.

He says I’m a disruption. I say he’s in my way. We’re standing on opposite sides of a looming war. The Crimson Claw is mutating. Wolves are vanishing. And the land itself is crying out for help.

We have no choice but to work together. The longer we fight the pull between us, the hotter it burns. And when we finally give in? The mountain might not survive the fallout.

I didn’t come here to fall in love. I came to stop whatever’s poisoning the land.
But Lucas makes it hard to remember where the mission ends… and where we begin.

Fated Wolf’s Redemption is the second scorching, standalone romance in the Cascade Wolf Chronicles, where fate binds, tempers clash, and love is as wild as the wolves who claim it.

This book is paranormal romantic suspense. It’s second in the series and isn’t really a standalone. The featured couple’s story is complete, but there is an ongoing storyline that started in the first book and continues in the next. I thought this book was pretty good; it was full of suspense and really held my attention from the beginning. Sophia and Lucas pair well together and need to recognize the strength of their bond. There is quite a bit of spice throughout the book. I enjoyed Lucas and Sophia’s story.

Sophia McKenna is a Windrider. Their pack has no permanent land base and moves around with the seasons...until now. Something is keeping them in the Cascades long after they should have moved on. Something is broken in the land and Sophia's father, their Alpha, is not sure it is mendable. The nearby land belongs to the powerful Nightshade pack and the Windriders may not be welcome.

Lucas Stone confronts the three strangers he found on Nightshade land. One of them, a female, tells him they are there to help save the land. To save it from what? There apparently isn't an easy answer to that question. Plagued by low birthrates, disappearing pack members, and Crimson Claw attacks, there are many things going wrong right now. Lucas is not sure these strange wolves are not more trouble instead of assets. Something about Sophia calls to him, and his wolf wants to answer, but she is a wanderer and he needs permanence.

There is a pretty complicated story within this book. Everything may be tied together, or not. Things from the recent and distant past are woven together with corrupted magic and ancient rituals. Sophia and Lucas will need to come together in order to have any hope of beating back the darkness that is coming. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Loved this. There is more depth and intensity to this book and the tie between the first and second books is tighter and stronger. This book makes sure you know the story isn’t over yet. Lucas and Sophia and one of the strongest couples Delta has written. This book has more twists and turns and unexpected little bumps in the road. Both Lucas and Sophia are strong enough on their own but together they are the storm they can control. Can’t wait for Max and Kylie and what about Oscar?

NOT WAR. NOT POLITICS. A REWRITING OF NATURE.

The Cascade Wolf Chronicles are an ongoing saga that involves multiple wolf packs. The Cascade area is experiencing a decline in birth rates. Wolves are going missing, and then there are the Crimson Claw, not human, not wolf, but an abomination. Arthur had been investigating until he was murdered—but his notes are giving them clues. The first book has Ryder Stone becoming the new Alpha of the Nightshade Pack—and appointing his younger brother, Lucas, as beta. The second story will be about Lucas and Sophia McKenna of the Windrider Pack.

Lucas is protective of the Nightshade Pack and their territory. When the Windrider Pack shows up in Nightshade territory, he is blunt, telling Sophia that they aren’t welcome. But Sophia feels called to the area, to stay, even when the others of her pack move on. Sophia, Kylie, and Oscar will stay and eventually be invited into the Nightshade compound. Fate is bringing Lucas and Sophia together, and while there is chemistry between them, each of them tries to fight it—but fate is fickle and doesn’t allow them to interfere in what is coming.

“Fate doesn’t ask for permission—it drags you along in its wake.”

“Balance doesn’t come from finding someone who mirrors you. It comes from the one who can challenge your shadow without being swallowed by it—a counterweight, if you will.”

Lucas: You keep pushing, and eventually you’re not going to like where that gets you.
Sophia: Then take your best shot, Stone. I’m tired of pretending this doesn’t matter.
Lucas: You want to fight? You want me to prove you can’t just walk through my life and leave it unchanged?
Sophia: I want you to stop pretending you don’t already belong in mine.

“One bound to storm, one forged in flame.”

The story has the good, the bad, and the evil that have invaded the Cascade area. The story is a mystery, suspense, danger, and fate. Two souls brought together, from two different packs. Not the elder council, rogues, or danger will stop these two since fate has brought them together. It will take Lucas and Sophia to enter the belly of the mountain to defeat the evil that is destroying the shifters.

“The official report will say what it always does—monsters stopped, danger averted, threat neutralized. They didn’t carry the storm. We did.”

Ms. Delta James did an amazing job of taking this reader into the world of the Nightshade and Windrider Packs, and the joining of Lucas and Sophia. This story does not end on a cliffhanger but segues into what’s to come. This isn’t a mystery solved yet; it is an ongoing saga, and I look forward to the story of Max Bennett, the Ironclaw warrior, and Kylie of the Windrider Pack.

3.75stars—FATED WOLF’S REDEMPTION is the second instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult CASCADE WOLF CHRONICLES erotic, paranormal, romance series focusing on the NIghtshade Pack of Shadow Hollow. This is beta wolf Lucas Stone, and Windrider wolf shifter Sophia McKenna’s story line. FATED WOLF’S REDEMPTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Some background: The Crimson Claw is a breed of hybrid, mutated wolves that continue to evolve taking at the shifter wolves but the arrival of the Windrider wolf shifters begins to agitate the Crimson Claw, targeting Lucas Stone and Sophia McKenna.

Told from dual first person person perspectives (Sophia and Lucas) FATED WOLF’S REDEMPTION follows in the wake of the arrival of the Windrider Wolf Shifters in Nightshade Pack territory. Something or someone is taking aim at the wolf shifters: low birth rate, missing wolves, and the creation of the Crimson Claw and the Windrider shifters are following the secrets whispered on the wind, secrets that pull our heroine towards her future but as Sophia and Lucas journey towards their fate, the reality reveals a past mired in betrayal, and a fight for control.

The relationship between Sophia and Lucas is one of fated mates, a destiny that will force our couple towards a journey of discovery, revelations, and the fulfilment of a prophecy focusing on our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are determined and energetic. We are reintroduced to Ryder and Bella, Max Bennett, Kylie, as well as Lina and Cain, and several members from the Nightshade, Windrider and the Ironclaw Packs.

FATED WOLF’S REDEMPTION is an action packed story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, magic and mayhem, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is enchanting and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are dynamic and desperate.

an excellent and much more indepth story line then the previous books with some plot intertwined from previous books although u can read it as a stand alone. this book was much more complex and complicated then the previous because sophia a windrider with no permanent territory has a spiritual connection to the land and wind. she is strong, brave, courageous, fierce and determined to stand alone. she is not interested nor does she trust a connection with lucas whom she meets when they enter his packs territory after feeling a disruption in the earth along with mysteries they are looking into like declining birth rates. lucas has always been a bit different feeling like he also has a spiritual connection the land that is unusual for his clan. soon after meeting they realize they have a connection and are likely fated mates but neither really trusts the other nor the connection they feel. meanwhile they must find out what is making the earth feel poisoned and who is disrupting the balance, why and how to stop them from tearing the earth apart.

this is a complicated story with many plots twists and turns leaving u unable to guess where the story path will take u. together they must learn to accept and trust their connection to be able to stop whats coming and heal the earth and save all shifters or they may face destruction. can they accept what neither really wants but feel compelled to accept? can they stop the evil that's coming and heal the earth once more? wonderfully rich detailed characters that are each extremely strong and resilient on their own but who could be formidable together if they will only accept and believe and put aside past doubts. the most complex and intriguing story written in this series by delta james. emotional exciting dangerous thrilling and more. I received an arc copy from book sirens and this is my honest voluntary review.

This book is crazy complex. There's a somewhat familiar shifter element, but it is so much more and, even at the end of the book, we don't know how much more is coming. Sophia is a Windrider, a pack with no specific territory and one that is not welcomed anywhere. But the birthrate is plummeting in all the packs. Some blame a mutant bunch called Crimson Claw. But the Crimson Claw may be a product of even more malevolent characters. Lucas is beta in the Nightshade which Sophia and other Windriders have approached in an effort to solve the mystery of dropping birthrate. He reluctantly acknowledges that Sophia is his fated mate. They both resist.

So what's new? We've seen this fated mate approach-avoid thing in a lot of books. What's new is a rather apocalyptic lab deep in the mountain launched by a human researcher and fed by a power hungry character named Lina. Think Jekyll and Hyde and Frankenstein. It seems only by combining the supernatural powers of Sophia and Lucas can the evil be stopped. It's quite a wild and crazy battle of good and evil with touches of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Even with the complete mating of Sophia and Lucas. Sealing the lab in the mountain may be just a stop gap.

I only know two of the good guys are in the teaser for the new book with a hint.

I found this book, while fantastical, to be engaging and challenging.

I loved this! Delta James has absolutely turned up the heat and the intensity in Book 2 of the Cascade Wolf Chronicles, and I was hooked from the very first page. While it’s technically a standalone, it definitely reads best after Book 1—the connection between the two stories is stronger and more meaningful than I expected, and it adds so much depth to Sophia and Lucas’s journey.

Sophia is wild, fierce, and totally unapologetic—my kind of heroine! And Lucas? Whew. Golden-eyed, growly, and way too tempting for her own good. Their chemistry is fire from the get-go, but what really got me was the slow-burn tug-of-war between them as they’re forced to work together amidst rising danger. Enemies-to-lovers + fated mates + high-stakes tension? Yes please.

This book keeps you guessing. Twists, secrets, unexpected alliances—it’s got all the drama you’d hope for in a paranormal romance, plus a beautifully written dual POV that lets you feel everything from both sides. There’s something a little more emotional and grounded in this instalment—like the stakes are higher, the emotions deeper, and the bond between characters more real.

Spice-wise? I’d say a solid 3/5. Enough to sizzle, but not so much it overwhelms the plot (which is really strong on its own!).

Overall, a captivating, magical, and passionate ride. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next!

A phenomenal, paranormal MUST-READ!
Author Delta James’s second paranormal novel in the Cascade Wolf Chronicles, FATED WOLF'S REDEMPTION, is a phenomenal journey to another world. A world filled with all kinds of wolf shifters who seem unable to trust or work together to focus on eradicating a hitherto unrecognized foe, an enemy of legend, more potent than any one wolf can fight. The only chance of stopping this ancient evil is to work together despite their distrust and the possibility that they are mates. Sophia McKenna, a shifter from the Windsong pack, and Lucas Stone, Beta of the Cascade Pack, must face this to root out the evil behind the Crimson Claw’s threat to their existence. Full of compelling characters and complex but captivating plotlines, FATED WOLF'S REDEMPTION is a novel that romance readers should add at the top of their TBR list. It has become one of my favorite Delta James novels! FATED WOLF'S REDEMPTION is easy to read, full of suspense, and delivers an exceptional romance story in a world I’d love to visit again! I volunteered to read an ARC copy of FATED WOLF'S REDEMPTION, and this is my voluntary 5-STAR review. FATED WOLF'S REDEMPTION is a must-read, so get your copy today! 😉

This book is thick with tension, angst, inner turmoil, struggle for control (both internal and external), physical battles (including death), traps,Lies, manipulation, truths, mates and freedom. Who gets what in the end depends a bit on the side they chose and how determined they were to obtain their goal. Our primary main characters, Lucas and Sophia, couldn't stand eachother at first sight. He's Beta of the Nightshade Pack while she's a Windrider (a nomad Pack of shifters connected to the land rather than a territory). Their constant clashes, and the heat behind them, tells Lucas one thing he doesn't want to know, something Sophia hasn't yet learned - he'll wait. For now they need to get to the bottom of the missing shifters and the birthrate decline, whatever poisoning the land.

This is one heck of an adventure as Lucas, Sophia, and their gang of Nightshade/Windrider members seek out the source to destroy it and seal the leak. The plot is riveting and will have you on the edge of your seat while rooting for the good guys to pull off the impossible.

I was fortunate to receive a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

This is second in the Cascade Wolf Chronicles. It's Lucas and Sophia's story. Personally, I loved Luas in the first book. Not sure what happened in this story. He became more irritating. Sophia is part of the Windrider pack which moves constantly. They also feel the land more deeply. The more I kept reading it the more I felt like I'd read something very similar by this author. It was difficult to feel empathy for the characters, mainly because there seems to be way too many new characters to try to keep up with. I finally figured out why the arc seemed so familiar - the Grimm Files with wolf packs. I have read everything by this author, but she seems to suddenly be doing multiple different series and this maybe a sign to pull back and work on fleshing out storylines and characters making sure the reader can get into each book. The stories are feeling rushed. If you haven't read everything, then you may not notice. I received an advance review copy from Booksirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is relating to Lucas Stone and Sophia McKenna; this is a wonderful read and plot that’s captivating
The Nightshade pack of Shadow Hollow has a beta wolf Lucas and Windrider wolf Sophia. The Crimson Claw a breed of the hybrid that had been mutated and are still going through changes, they have targeted the Crimson Claw.
Sophia and Lucas are aware that someone or thing has been taking aim at the low birth rate numbers, also the wolves that have gone missing all co-insiding with the Crimson Claw and the relationship between Lucas and Sophia is that of fated mates.
As the relationship between Lucas and Sophia grows and it is simply wonderful to see the way this couple have come together and have grown stronger as they face some of the problems that have been causing harm to the wolves.
The other characters that are in this wonderful story, I know that other readers will enjoy this book as much as I have and will look forward to future books by this wonderful author as well.

"A Fantastic Shifter Romance series"

Every story in this series is exciting, and so much fun to read. Every character is awesome.
Sophia belongs to the Windrider pack. She is also the daughter of the Alpha of the pack. Her pack are nomads never staying in one place. They also try to help other packs. When her father learns of the low birth rates of the Cascade packs. He wants Sophia to stay and help the packs find the cause. The packs are also having wolves disappear.
Lucas is the beta of the Cascade Nightshade pack. When his scouts spot Sophia and a couple of her pack mates. At the edge of the Nightshade territory. He goes to investigate himself!
When he first spots Sophia he is very attached to her! At first he tries to fight the attraction. But can Sophia and Lucas fight fate? Can they also solve the two mysteries?
This story is exciting, funny, thrilling, and steamy hot. This is a five star plus story!

Sophia McKenna is a wolf shifter belonging to the Windrider pack which doesn't settle in one place, and don't consider themselves to be a pack at all. They consider themselves guardians of the land, and the land in the Cascade mountains needs saving. Lucas Stone is beta of the Nightshade pack and in the past, when the Windriders show up, trouble follows. Sophia is like the wind, impossible to hold, but she is also his fated mate. When they realize that they are key to closing a gate being forced open by two individuals with dangerous agendas. Wow, this is even better than the first book in this series, I loved it! Action packed and steamy with surprising twists in the plot, so it kept me engrossed from the first page. Wonderfully well written characters with complicated personalities make this a must-read book.

Enjoyable wolf-shifter read. I liked the unique aspect of the pack with no particular geographical border for their claim... nomadic shifters.

I felt like the first half of the book I was being TOLD that there was something off and something ominous coming without really feeling it through the words. Once the team assembled and was in the thick of it, it was good but it really felt almost too simple. I felt like it could have been so much more. Or at least that's where my hopes were. I appreciated the author's ability to capture the tension in the moment but that and the aftermath with the elders… it was like… so that's it? It felt incomplete.

Regardless, it was still an enjoyable read. I love the fated mates trope and the sassy FMC who can hold her own. She's fierce and fearless (almost).

The ending -- I felt like the little twist at the end was completely out of left field. It didn't fit.

I love paranormal stories and this is one of the best I have read in awhile. I loved everything about it, Lucas and Sophia, even the secondary characters play a role in this story, especially Max and Kylie. The attraction between Lucas and Sophia is intense but there is danger closing in and it appears they are the two main individuals who can save the shifters from the coming danger. Once mated, they defeated the evil that was trying to crawl its way to the surface. To say it is action packed would be a huge understatement. The writing is first class which made me want to read the book in one setting. It captured my attention at the beginning and kept it until the end. It’s an excellent story that is worth reading. I can’t wait to read Max and Kylie’s story.

This was quite a thrilling journey. The Windrider Pack came to the Cascades as something has broken the equilibrium, it's not just the Crimson Claw. Lucas, Beta of Nightshade pack is 1st to encounter them. The female, Sophia, states they're there to help. According to Windrider legend, soulbound mates will restore what's broken. Lina wants the Gate open and stay open. The packs need to stand together. The attraction between Lucas, the joker and Sophia, a wanderer, is potent, but they're both fighting fate. The tension is mounting dramatically when something is calling Lucas, ritual markings, wolves disappear, a warning from her father, etc. A nail biting ending, but it's not over yet and a teaser chapter about sassy, fearless Kylie and Max ensured I'm sticking around.

There is so much in this book - much more than a romance between two strong shifters. There is a huge threat to shifters in the area. A bigger threat than just lower birthrates among themselves, the breed of hybrid, mutated wolves known as the Crimson Claw or the less than supportive Elders. Something evil is trying to rise and if the Windrider legend is to be believed, only soulbound mates will able to restore what's broken. Windrider wolf Sophia and the Nightshade Beta Lucas are going to have to work together if they are going to be successful in stopping the evil from rising. But simply working together is not going to be enough to stop the threat - remember the legend says it will need Soulbound mates. Are Lucas and Sophia those mates? They have a very steamy fated mate connection, but is it enough to become soulbound before time runs out? Time will tell.

Wow, “Fated Wolf’s Redemption” is one wild ride of suspense, evilness, monsters, fated mates, and unsolved mysteries and it’s all in one book! It’s impossible to put down. Sophie and Lucas frequently argue and the sexual tension between them complicates their fights.

She needs to get to the bottom of what’s going on in the Cascade area and the Nightshade pack, where Lucas is the beta. Sophie belongs to the Windrider pack that doesn’t have any territory of their own. Sophie is drawn to the area, and she stays while most of her pack move on, as she continues her quest to discover what evils are harming the area.

As is typical for Delta James, this is a beautifully detailed story that is rich in its mystery. I can’t wait for the next book in the Cascade Wolf Chronicles! received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Lucas and Sophia. The birth rate is still declining. Wolves are missing. Then theres the danger of the Crimson Claw. They find Arthurs notes that give clues. The fated wolfs Destiny has Ryder as the new alpha and Lucas his brother as Beta. Sophia is of the Windrider pack. Lucas doesnt want Sophia and her pack in his territory and asks her to leave. She doesnt of course. And soon is in his business. Shes drawn to his pack knowing something is coming and she can help. They are also drawn to each other but they dont want to admit it. They absolutly fight tooth and nail. But they will find that they are fated not to just be together but to be stronger together to fight the evil invading their territory.

This series is becoming so intriguing and exciting can wait to read the other books.

There was a level of intensity in this book that I haven't felt in a while. Lucas and Sophia coming together to combat ancient mysticism, magic, and a supernatural threat in order to save not only the Windriders, but the species as a whole.

Lucas and Sophia, being fated mates, seemed to be tied together by something even stronger, more powerful than fate. It felt like there was a sensuality in their joining which was tied into wind and storms. The plot of this book was such an intriguing notion and one of many elements that kept me fully engaged from start to finish. A very good follow-up to Ryder and Bella's story. I can't even imagine what will happen with Max and Kylie or even Oscar if he gets a story. 4.75 Stars.

Sophia McKenna is part of Windrider Pack who is trespassing into another pack's territory in the Cascades… normally they would have followed the wind and left this region by now, but there is something that is "wrong" in the earth and Sophia feels it… Lucas Stone is the Beta of Nightshade Pack and is investigating who is in territory, making sure not Crimson Claw… and is intrigued with Sophia… knowing she is a thorn in his side even as his wolf attracted to her… but the forests, mountains and earth itself being manipulated along with members of several packs disappearing… Can Sophia and Lucas work together to find out what is happening and stop it… but you will need to read this mystery to see what happens… I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Good news first: the writing in this book is much better than the last one, and the buildup kept me turning the pages.

That said, I was a bit surprised at how little the previous book’s characters were used. Bella, the vet with intriguing potential and hints of shifter abilities, had very little to no role, even though she and her mate are supposed to be Alpha and Luna. It felt like a missed opportunity to build on what was established before.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, but if the series continues introducing new couples while sidelining earlier ones, it may be harder to stay fully invested in the long-term storyline.

Will I read the next book? Maybe. But if the pattern and tropes continue, I probably won’t pick up the one after.

More sci-fi in this story than just shifter romance. LOTS of action. Sophia and Lucas both feel the pull of the mate bond but both are fighting it for different reasons. Sophia, as a Windrider, represents a different kind of shifter, one not anchored to “pack lands” and who has more affinity and some knowledge about myths and ritual magic. Lucas has always had an affinity with storms - a good match! Lots of strong feelings! I wanted to give the elders a swift kick (or two) for burying their heads in the sand! Spooky good!

What an exciting, intriguing, slightly dark story. Sophia and her nomadic pack are passing through Lucas’s packs territory and they suddenly become aware of the Crimson Claws evil doing and decide to assist the goodies, what is discovered though is less than unsavoury. There is a lot of resistance to accepting Sophia’s help and even Lucas, whilst realising that there’s something big between them, tries to deny they need help. This is an exciting story with some big reveals. I really enjoyed reading it and l look forward to reading the next story in this series.

“Fated Wolf’s Redemption” by Delta James

-Mystery, magic, and danger collide as ancient forces threaten the shifter world and their kind. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.

Lucas and Sophia clash, burn, and bond in this intense, fate-driven shifter romance.
Their journey through mistrust, battles, and buried truths is dark, layered, and thrilling.

A richly woven tale of redemption, power, and love that leaves more still to uncover in future books in this series. Delta James is one of my favorite authors and this book does not disappoint.

This story is an action packed blockbuster full of suspense, danger, good, evil, fated mates and evil curses. The storyline is intense and succinct and entices the reader from first page to last. This is a quick riveting story and the world building is dark and melodramatic. You see the evil as it comes and attempts to destroy Lucas and Sophia. An ancient evil wants to destroy and keep Sophia for themselves but the chemistry and fated bond crushes the evil and allows Sophia to choose her future. She is the one who will choose her path and what is right for all. Well done and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

This is the second book in the Cascade Wolf Chronicles and deals with evil magic, missing shifters from different packs, birth rates down, secrets and so much more. Sophia is part of the Windrider pack and the daughter of their leader. Lucas is the beta of the Nightshade pack. These two have explosive chemistry but try to fight it. This is action packed and full of betrayal, lies, and council members interference. This can be read as a standalone but if you want backstory of the other characters you should read this series in order. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is book two of the Cascade Wolf Chronicles and this story was full of action, suspense, danger, twist, bantering, the Windriders is a clan that are not welcomed anywhere. The Nightshade clan everyone wants to be in. Crimson Claw are blamed for the declining birthrate, wolves disappearing and the mystery of the mountain. Sophia and Lucas will take us on a journey to get answers but what they didn't expect is being fated mates. They try to keep away from each other but that one kiss and they were done for.
